foreign [Music] will change in my case I'm so fortunate that it has changed overwhelmingly for the better the sense of relief that I can finally be who I am express myself in a way that is true to me and it's gotten us so much closer like when you have an unexpected blessing like two wonderful women living their lives to the fullest and to see them being who they were meant to be and living their best life how can anyone be anything but joyful foreign with the church was definitely something that intimidated me to come out to my parents but also coming out to your parents is intimidating in and of itself I never experienced any hate being preached from my dad from the pulpit but it was rather this General culture of being gay is somehow not acceptable it's inappropriate it's something that we don't talk about it was very very hush hush for me I would see it reinforced in other church activities it was never from my dad but I did start to believe that he must agree with these teachings because we're going to these events we're going to these people's places who are saying these messages my dad is friends with these people so now I'm starting to assume he agrees with them my mom and dad were maybe some of the last people I came out to I called my dad I was in college and my dad was coming to visit and he was going to meet my girlfriend who is now my wife and I didn't want to do the thing where you introduce the girl or the person you're seeing as your friend and so I was like I'm just going to introduce this person to you this weekend and she's very special to me and she is my girlfriend to my Dad's credit I think you were probably the easiest person I ever came out to because you didn't even it was so weird it's like I hung up the phone and I was like did I just go out to Dad because you were like oh like excited to meet her like can't wait to see like you just it wasn't even this like big conversation I think we ended up talking about other things and the logistics of your travel and whatever I almost wanted to confirm I was like you heard gay right like see you remember it as coming out I remember it more uh you're telling me that someone loves you and because I love you that's what I remember I don't I less about coming out than somebody loves me so how could I do anything but Rejoice that you found somebody who's love you just couldn't keep inside anymore well that's that's very sweet dad life is way too short to lose a single day of expressing your love and letting the people who need to have your love know that you love them and accept them there really is no time to waste life is too precious each day is a gift God forbid the grace or or brother Captain ever doubt how much her their parents love them for who they are without yeah without condition without question [Music]
