The Spirit Changes Everything

just as long as you want reach for the stars [Music] [Music] heart isaiah 32 verses 12 to 15 let's go people shall mourn upon their breasts for the pleasant fields for the fruitful vine on the land of my people will come up thorns and brides yes on all the happy homes in the joyous city because the palaces will be forsaken the bustling city will be disarted the farts and lions will become layers forever a joy of wild donkeys a pasture or flocks until the spirit is poured upon us from on high and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field and the fruitful field is counted as a forest okay if you like to give this a title it will be the spirit changes everything the spirit changes everything interesting scenario here you know the most inspiring stories that we hear in our world are what you call the before and after stories some of the most effective marketing pitches or sales speeches are the ones that contain the before and after stories if you want to sell a weight loss pill the best way to sell it is to have two pictures of the same person the before where the person is like this and then the after where the person is like this you know and especially where the person puts on a trouser or some puns where they you know extend the full waste of the plants okay so that you can see how big the waste was before compared to what they are now and then tell someone i lost 50 kilos in 30 days they will buy at least those who need that kind of health the before and after end you know that's the picture that this passage of scripture paints for me people shall mourn upon their breasts you know for the pleasant fields for the fruitful vine on the land of my people will come of thorns and briars yes on all the happy homes in the joyous city because the palaces will be forsaken the boston city will be decided the forts and towers will become last forever a joy of wild donkeys a pasture of flocks couldn't get worse than that when donkeys begin to live in the palace the place where you had laughter before now there is sadness now there is sorrow now there is morning and that just describes the lives of many people john 10 10 jesus said the thief comes not but to steal to kill and to destroy so when the devil has gone through either the life of an individual or a family or an organization or a community what you have left at the end of the day is destruction it's lack okay it's poverty it's sicknesses and diseases this passage of scripture is very inspiring for me because it paints a picture of hope that things will not be bad forever there is the possibility of intervention and there you see in verse 15 that the game changer is the holy spirit when he steps on the scene things begin to turn around so he says everything will depreciate things will look bad especially when he says that on the land of my people will come of thorns and briars you know thorns are not food usually poisonous in any case the prick the hurt and he says all of that will go on verse 15 until the spirit is poured upon us from on high this month the spirit will be poured out on your life [Applause] it's a season of fresh outpouring for us it says when the spirit is poured out from on high the wilderness will become a fruitful field hallelujah whoa the wilderness the desert the dry place the place of difficulty and impossibility the that same place will become productive okay so what makes the difference therefore is the holy spirit in the very place where someone here has been struggling things will become easy for you [Applause] in the place where you have been confused you will experience peace and the person who is going to make the difference is the holy spirit in the place where you have been weak you will become strong where you experience fear you are going to experience faith see the location did not change it was the same location it was the same soil the same personalities but the game changer was the holy spirit because sometimes we think it's some of those factors if only i could change location if only you know this could change if only that could change if only but i'm telling you whatever it is that you may lack in the natural the holy spirit can more than compensate for it the holy spirit can modern compensate for it jesus gathered together a group of men that they called uneducated and untrained but he told them something and i think that's one of the most powerful secrets anybody could ever hear in luke 24 just before he went up to heaven after his resurrection luke chapter 24 and verse 49 he said behold i send the promise of my father upon you but tari in the city of jerusalem until you are endured with power from on high amen the two verses are saying the same thing and they somebody said with me until so the situation is permitted to depreciate until i can be powerless until i can be helpless only on tears but somewhere along the line things must turn around for me so he said story stay i said i'm sending the promise of my father upon you but tarry in the city of jerusalem until you're endured with power from on high i think that really what gets us into problems a lot of the time is the fact that we do not prioritize being filled with the power of the holy spirit before we go out to attempt things jesus told his disciples listen of all the things that you think may have qualified you nothing is going to qualify you to do this job except being filled with the power of the holy spirit so he said stay wait until there's no point trying to solve people's problems without the power of the holy spirit you will embarrass yourselves tarry in the city until hallelujah you know sometimes we're tempted to be impatient we're tempted to run ahead of god but then we find ourselves struggling because we've jumped ahead of god and we're now trying to use our human ability to do what god wants to do in our lives he said you stay there until you are endured with power from on high well in isaiah 32 15 he said until the spirit is poured out upon us from on high now he said actually when the spirit is poured out what you get is power in acts chapter 1 verses 4 and 5 the bible says and being assembled together with them he commanded them not to depart from jerusalem but to wait for the promise of the father now that's referring to the same thing in luke 24 49 actually the same person wrote this the two books so i like the way he now expresses it here that when jesus told them tarry in the city it was not a suggestion it was a commandment it wasn't a suggestion it was a command god never designed for man to pursue the fulfillment of his destiny through his human ability it was never the plan job 32 verse 8 says there is a spirit in mind the inspiration of the almighty inspiration inspire is in breathing you know it's like and that in breathing was supposed to animate man i describe it as electricity you know so this loudspeaker can be there but without electricity in it it would not work so it is there it has the potential to amplify voice and to project voice but it can't work my microphone without electricity can't work it has the capacity to take my voice and to send it to the amplifier okay so it can be amplified through the loudspeakers but it will be there unable to function okay you know in one of the testimonies reference was made to the day the our power supply system shut down and and you know the difference the air conditioning here is working tonight now because there is electricity there's power supply so the the units you know have the capacity they have the potential to blow cool here but they can't until power comes in and then they are animated they come alive so to speak the potential is released that's the way god designed man that when the holy spirit will come on him you remember um genesis 2 7 and 8 how god squeezed my molded man from the dust and then god breathed into his nostrils and he became a living so he was animated until then he was there on the ground he couldn't move he couldn't breathe he couldn't feel anything but it was the in breathing it was the breath that god put in there that caused everything to be animated so in the same vein when the holy spirit comes inside a human being your spirit goes on a different frequency you go on the same frequency with heaven with that you download things from heaven there is a spirit in man the inspiration of the almighty gives him what understanding so you capture things that are beyond the capacity of a human being when the holy spirit breathes on your mind your brain is animated and it goes into a higher frequency eye has not said air has not heard neither has entered into the heart of any man the things that god has revealed prepared for those who love him but these things he has revealed unto us by his that's it so the things that the five senses cannot capture you have access to them then you have supernatural intelligence you think at god's level your mind walks with ideas that are beyond the capacity of the normal human being so you know it when you are in the spirit you know it when you are out of the spirit because you are thinking with the power of the holy spirit it's taking you to the capacity of god to the same frequency with god when the holy spirit breathes on your emotions when the holy spirit breathes on your emotions then you have the capacity to feel like god it takes you to a new frequency hallelujah when you take croquet cocaine the spirit in cocaine takes your mind to a new frequency and takes your emotions to a new frequency yep you see things you feel differently you feel light you feel cool you feel you feel relaxed it's just after the thing has worn off what you were running away from will come back and unfortunately you can become addicted destructive to the health but it's the same thing when the holy spirit comes because in ephesians 5 18 the bible says we should not be filled with wine in which there is excess but we should be filled with the spirit when the holy spirit comes and blows on your emotions the emotions that gave birth before to fear the emotions that produced doubt that produced anxiety they now receive the capacity to produce different things when the holy spirit is not walking through the human spirit and the human mind and the human emotion what do we get revenge malice hatred okay grudges strife quarrelling that's what we get anger okay but when the spirit is poured out on the same emotion and then you find out it now has the capacity to produce clean things instead of the thorn and the bride it produces peace amen perfect calmness jesus was riding in a ship jesus was riding and they said there are roses storms and water began to pour into the sheep and the disciples began to bail out the water by the time eventually peter went and walked jesus oh master don't you care that we are perishing he was exasperated and jesus stood they know you of little fate how long am i going to be with you the earlier you can handle things like this the better for you peace be still and everything you can't give what you don't have the peace came from inside him and dominated the situation and the circumstance peace calmness he was sleeping in the midst of his storm so peace by god's definition is not the absence of trouble it is perfect calmness in the midst of a storm hallelujah when you are not moved you are not ruffled you are not bothered anymore why we know the end from the beginning and it came to pass this thumb will pass oh what did jesus say in matthew 7 13 verse 24 he who hears these things of mine and does them is like a wise man who wanted to build his house and dug deep and built it on a rock he said and the wind blew and the rains fell okay and the storms came and beat vehemently on that house he said on the house too so it's not that the storms will not come but we will outlive and outlast the storm now it will take the power of the holy spirit for you to have such capacity when it looks like you're about to die peace the fruit of the spirit is love this fruit of the spirit is joy hallelujah so the same emotions that produced anxiety before you know produce confusion exasperation now produces joy every time they see you you are thinking hallelujah that's the proof that the holy spirit is there you're singing you're joyful you're happy it's the holy spirit producing that when the holy spirit is not there it's easy for pride to come you know i was telling someone today was asking me why i came somewhere where i could send someone i could easily just send somebody there he said and i've been watching you he works at the airport you know and he says i see you you come to the checking counter to check in yourself you know you stay on the queue you do he says but you can send people to do all of that and i said that's fine but i've just chosen to do it that way i know i have privileges i said but there is a whole generation in nigeria who doesn't even understand the purpose of eq and i don't see dashboards an opportunity to escape okay all those responsibilities i want to show them an example because everybody in nigeria is wrong to become a big man so they can escape the responsibility of staying on their queue and i said i want to feel what the average nigerian feels because then god can use me to create solutions so the average person at my level nigeria is out of touch with what's going on so it's my choice okay i can maintain the piece right i now said to him most people in our environment can't handle power and wealth i said the more powerful you become and the wealthier you become [Music] the more humble you are better become or else what you are praying for will become a liability so and that humility does not come naturally it is difficult for you to be powerful and not to feel powerful and some people feel it they feel the power but what was the temptation about the temptations of christ what were they about use the power use the power you can turn the stone into bread use the power he says no okay you can jump from the pinnacle of the temple down in the daytime so that everybody will see you superman the messiah says no use it he says no i'm not going to use it it is power acquired all right but it is power under control it's power under control so before you get the power get the holy spirit before you get the money get the holy spirit or else pride will grow okay for us men for example some men don't realize you know even their wives who don't realize when they are praying for their husbands to break through they don't know what they are praying for see when the breakthrough has arrived and the millions are breathing in their account and the promotion has arrived honor and respect come with them and dignity and power so before you realize it you have people who are running helter skelter for your man the things he would have carried himself before they would not allow him to carry any more people who carry for him the things he would the phone calls he would have made they make on his behalf so and gradually with time he begins to feel the power but you know the interesting thing a woman who the woman who knows him when he knew nothing and they prayed together for the breakthrough she will reserve the right to talk to him the way she has always spoken to him but as the promotion comes he will lose the capacity to take it i'm the one you are talking to like that [Laughter] then she will become surprised so how did i talk to you i'm the one you are talking to later nothing has changed except for power there is now power and there is kudi there's money so he gradually accepted the holy spirit he is batting and producing and growing humility in his heart it will become a big problem hallelujah some people understand what i'm talking about because it's beginning to happen gradually and it's because the way you want to talk to him are to nobody talks to him like that anymore maybe they did before but nobody he's now the boss he's the big man hallelujah so it will take the holy spirit so the dangerous dimension to it for mr chief executive himself is if he does not balance the power with humility it's just a matter of time because when he becomes rude to his wife the person who was praying for him they said now that his prayers may be hindered and some people god has to bring them down so that he can bless them because he can't talk to them anymore there are things they can't hear anymore okay so just allow a few things to be out of place so that they can remember to pray hallelujah and remember to go to church because some people when breakthrough has not arrived every service you see them when the breakthrough has arrived four months nothing where have you been hong kong miami you know beijing hallelujah the holy spirit but self-control it's one of the fruit of the spirit okay so where you had the thorns and the brides of lack of self-control negative habits when the holy spirit comes he destroys the wheat and then plants the seed of the world and grows those seeds in there and then so you gradually find out that you have grace now to overcome sinful habits this month you will change join any of our four services at 7am 8 45 a.m 10 30
