2019 Rio de Janeiro home of Sanji and Jame avangar beat Furia in the finals me and Connor casting this whoa 2016 2017 just finished luminas SK WI a couple of Majors Fallen falling off all the Brazilian lineups in the world are sort of weaker than ever before even though there are more fans than ever before and the question is who is going to carry the mantle next no matter how great your Empire is even the Automan empire fell Automan even the Roman Empire fell everything will come and go your Peak will come and go in Counter Strike eras are almost determined by what region you're from how many years you have in that and we haven't really seen an era since astralis you could say that era is the most racist thing in Counter-Strike and we need to bring that back okay and this was the feeling that drove a lot of popularity for Furia back then it was the fact that all of these Fury of fans that were cultivated and galvanized largely by fallen way back then to go out and support their team and to really make waves it was just such a massive presence of the community online during those sort of middle years of csgo was the Portuguese Brazilian fans that were really living it up I mean they were popping champagne every day like there was good things happening the scene was exploding the winds were coming in you had you know coldzera who's one of the very few massive stars of this game's history there's a huge wave of energy that comes out of this and then Furia come in younger I don't want to say cooler but they were really cool back then look at Art you know what I mean like art kind of comes in as this Bohemian freethink thinking weed smoking part-time painter part-time partyer type energy into the scene as a Brazilian player we haven't really seen that on top of all of that immediately the thing that grabs everyone's attention and the cultural significance of Furia comes from this man in the for of the W religion right I read somewhere it only takes six people to make a religion legal okay and that was all five of the furi of members and giri on Furia they had everyone believing everybody was talking about this there were so many clips that came from this time the top of Reddit almost every single day that Furia played as they were climbing out of tier 2 getting second places at at pretty big events I mean they got stomped out by zyu at this ECS but that was in the grand finals that was impressive then this Rio feat happens where they make it to the finals I mean look at some of these plays from art looks so much more valuable now right like this team sticking together is such a strong unit as far us I'm concerned it's also like an exciting rebuilding team for mibr you know to finally give us the team that we wanted but look at artman he's stealing the attention right now even with the Hugh news breaking oh is just breaking down Team Liquid he's still running and he's in with a fourth my goodness oh by the time they leave Maine there's going to be a CT and pop dog no never mind he's actually going to push him amoly and Lord Peak he gets gusta he started his adventures at inner and now he's fighting M he goes for and another one going on out and you see these are the factors that have come together to make the rise of the Furia so fast and so Furious I didn't mean to say that shout out to everyone who who showed up to launders land I don't know what happened cuz it's this weekend but I'm excited because Maui and Conor are coming on Friday we're going to show them Toronto and then we're going to show them the land we're going to have such a great time and do some commentary should be great I maybe there' be some footage in the in this video from it I'm sure my heart will be full by the end of the weekend but yes boxer movement. Club shout out to everyone who bought some boxer merchandise at the land itself and uh we're going to do many more of these actually already planning the third one in fact we already won a land so yes and this weekend for lunders land code lunders 20% off asone the best CS2 headphones on the market by far we literally are renting out asone headphones at the land because they're so good and at the last land we rented them out people us them because people always show up with broken headphones so I had the idea ason why don't you lend us some headphones so that we can rent them out of the land for free so people can use them in case they're headphones break cuz their shitty ass headphones always break but ason got your back okay code launders for 20% off the steepest discount that you can get on these headphones they're available on Amazon Prime and uh might have to order off the website to get 20% off code I don't know but get in there back to the video so up front you have this sort of mystical character that is Art showing that in modern CS suddenly after the game has started to slow down a bit and people have started to pick their battles more you have na'vi and the CIS style of playing rounds very slowly until the last few seconds before they execute even Fallen himself calling rounds to the last 10 seconds and that really doesn't stop and so it's so refreshing that suddenly here's a team that doesn't think about money one bit right art and Furia have decided this is a quote paraphrased okay cuz I I can't find this but this is stuck in my head for so long but it's B basically art saying if we play like astrus we will lose to astrus if we want to be able to beat these teams we have to use gimmicks and we have to play an idiosyncratic style right they have to come in and not do things with perfect punish play with perfect utility they have to be aggressive and they have to be Innovative and the Really the coolest part that goes underrated to most eyes when it comes to Furia is even to this day every time a map has been introduced Furia have found unique utility on the map that pro team still use right now you look at vertigo you have the art smoke that lands on short side that is used in every T default round you have the Furious smoke on Inferno that completely changed the way banana was played at every single level every single team took it and so you actually have a team not only are playing in this overly aggressive to the point that you know it's basically all or nothing with art with the amount of kills his kill to death ratio but you know his opening kill attempts was so far beyond anybody else that there was no real way to find a sparring partner that was anything like Furia until heroic came in many years later and in my opinion art played a massive role in the player that kadan became now he said himself that it was a lot to do with fnatic but fnatic weren't really relevant and Furia Were The One Making Waves over an NA even though the world was kind of split in half come 2020 and I think he really did show a lot of teams that you can actually turn up the aggression things don't have to slow down to a crawl not everything has to be about your last five cents in a round when it comes to making purchases and if you want to deny that fine but if you don't know about the utility that he brought in that all top teams ended up using well you don't really know the impact that Furia had now unfortunately I do have to admit that that impact was mostly in North America because when the world did get split in half and we had dream hack Masters online in Na and Furia were able to win that that that ended up being their biggest Victory right they won a couple banana cups small events here and there few impressive second place finishes consistently being top 10 was always sort of a feat the fact that we got co uh sorry I just yeah I actually drink my diet coke in a wine glass but that's not going in the video is it Johnny no it won't you won't see it in the video he wouldn't do that to me when the world was split in half quesado was and is the truth one of the best closers that we watch play and him and Yuri were like the salamona twins that's how I always looked at them like from Breaking Bad yeah I know it's not a racially sensitive thing to say but it was just in the way that they were twins they were like boss as [ __ ] you know what I mean like these two guys were both really good in the late round they both moved very slowly around the map they both shoulder Peak and jiggled every single thing they both won an equal amount of duel I mean it was really unclear who was better at first between these two and their play styles are so similar on the one hand you have art who's like a bow and arrow getting shot into defaults pushing ramp on vertigo through smokes scoped up pushing way farther than Fallen ever would have back in the day and then that huge contrast between him and the two tanks in the background like at Starcraft brood war and you just have Siege tanks right post it up waiting for anybody to come into their crosshairs making sure to trade down and if worse came to worse basically it was Art would get one kill die then pieces would get traded down but Yuri and quesado did never clocked out without getting two each okay and that was the deal right that was what made them such a threat insane individual Talent they had a lot of innovation when it came to nades no sparring partners that played anything like them at the time and then when it came to their cultural presence and how much people wanted to believe in them it was the perfect moment for a new wave of Brazilian talent to come in they had a cool logo I just want to say I think that mattered to me and I think that like you know Gary was this cool coach behind them that seemed like a positive energy and they have this one drama that takes place where Fallen calls him out for fair play there's basically there will be an issue in a round because someone lags out but the rule is that if you take damage then the round will not be reset but in this tournament for some reason admins were off jerking off and so instead of just just going with the rules they demanded that Furia reset the round because it's fair because one player had only taken five damage and initially it felt like a player had actually died already and so they put pressure on Furia to break the rules to be fair and obviously a lot of this has to do with the fact that Furia were the new guys and now fallen and the old guys are starting to fall off a little bit they've already had their time and this match was massively popular to watch I mean I think it was an online match in dream hack masters with like hundreds of thousand of people watching the Brazilian stream like everyone want to know the outcome to this game cuz it's not a grudge match but it is a regional match for who's going to be the best right one of the very important head-to-heads to kick things off and Furia didn't really say anything they actually did end up resetting the round but then fur called him a [ __ ] K&G tweeted about them Fallen called them out for a fair play and there was tons of pressure put on them and they didn't have to do that they didn't have to do that they had the rules on their side and in fact it should have been the admins all along to make that call of course but that's how it happened back in the day admins were less sharp with it people weren't a aware of every single rule and so there were sometimes disputes between players directly coaches and players I sent art a message and I said hey I just want to say I appreciate how you carried yourself through all this I know it's very hard with the Brazilian fan base being sort of very big and emphatic all the time you know I support you for what it's worth as a pundit in the scene and you know he said thank you and and and from there on I just felt like this is a really good presence to have for Brazil to have Furia come in okay so that's the rise that's Furia getting up to a point where they have a good reputation they're interesting they're fun to watch they're cool quesado is still showing that he's consistently going to be a top rifler in the world they've got some good bones and then they get Henny onto the team and it's looking like roses right now you know art maybe not strong enough to be an individual opera on this roster but Henny he decides that not only is he going to join Furia but he's going to play nothing like he did before on Immortals he's actually going to slow it way down and this showed Henny's range in a way that I thought was amazing whenever a player can go to a new environment and change their play style up is already impressive but the fact that he joined a team that would fit his natural way of playing which would be super aggressive oping combat oping explosive and then change to a team like Furia which you would think would advocate for this would encourage it and then switch to a very laidback in the back passive play style to really Aid and support this again like tank line defense with art as the bow and arrow up front dragging his opponents into the mud as you like to say and making it wor work really really showed that Furia implemented Henny perfectly he was great and they were obviously very strong as a team but then for some reason they bench Henny and the CEO of furious says that he expressed that Henny wanted to play with his twin brother Lucas okay yes they're twins yes they look alike yes it's hard to tell them part unless they're playing CS because well first of all henn's an oper Lucas is not Henny's really good and Lucas is not quite as good so him wanting to play with his brother it makes sense I don't know what the [ __ ] it's like to have a twin but that's some [ __ ] like I'm racist you know what I mean like if I want people to play with each other because of the way they look then I should also probably support twins I should probably also support twins racism no that doesn't make sense but it was whack it was so whack because him and his brother were leagues apart him on Furia made sense they were killing it with this op hybrid art play style with Henny's consistent leader in the back and then we go forward a little bit more time some more roster moves happen I don't want to skip over anything but they pick up safe they pick up drop they pick up Junior and as a North American who was really excited about Triumph Jr we were like hell yeah brother We snuck one in you know what I mean like we got to infiltrate the Brazilian scene with this one and Junior was oping on Furia one of the strangest timelines you could ever expect okay Stranger Than Stewie and trik going to mibr Stranger Than That this is Junior who has no accolades before it's Junior who comes from Triumph who was impressive online in na but not like impressive to the point that he should be oping on a team that now has to speak English for the first time right it's not like they got simple on the roster and decided to go fully International no they decided to completely take apart all their communication and start speaking English and we can see how that went not well okay you know there were some rounds there with Junior where his stats actually don't look that bad but I'm going to tell you right now that [ __ ] was awkward it did not work and FIA did not win anything so a couple of weird moves here you got Henny who leaves a team to go play with his twin brother Lucas and then Junior who they switch to English to play with it doesn't work and then they go on to play with safe they go on to play with drop and actually at this point there's a second wave of Hope because they make it to the top eight of Rio now I'm still a massively huge furio fan at this point okay they made it to the top eight of Rio I put them three in the legend stage I got that prediction right they made it to play against na'vi and they literally beat na'vi in front of a Brazilian crowd in Rio at a major that is a peak of their existence as a team right emotionally that's got to be the peak they didn't win the major Jame again right the king of Rio but my God was that a sight to see after that it's nothing okay they get fallen into the roster another weird move because again unlike with when they got Henny who played in the back passively to contrast to Art they get fallen into the roster as an opera igl which is literally what art was and then the team start playing like fallen and so this is like a different version of a twin right this is like if somebody came on to my YouTube channel that looked like me and started doing my videos and then I'd Wonder like how many videos do I get to do and then eventually there's no need for me because well he's doing the videos and he knows how to get to a million sub you know what I mean like fall and coming in was a direct threat to Art in every single sense and now that art is getting removed that couldn't be more clear and the saddest part about this in my opinion is a little bit interesting because the saddest part for me is that Furia go from a team that was promising to not winning for too long and needing to make changes I can accept that but then to going to get a player from that Old Guard in Fallen who's already won everything he's got the full trophy cabinet to come in to try to win a first trophy for a new roster every time they did a exit interview with fallen in my opinion it was like not even worth listening to like in my opinion there should have been art or someone else cuz I didn't even see pain in his eyes and I I hate to say that because I know Fallen if he saw this he would be like of course I was hurt by it he's just such a true professional maybe it's hard to see I don't know but when he gives an interview and it's just so well spoken and it's just ah things like this happened and it was close and I think we should be proud of ourselves but they don't [ __ ] win they get groups they get quartered it doesn't matter then what the [ __ ] you know what have you done with this team ever since Henny like what have you done with this team and they don't win they don't win anything except for espo with Fallen impressive they take a land finally okay whatever that they take a land I mean that's something no s tier victories in the career of Furia since the jump and now and I guess I can tie this into part of the news art is removed from the team giri gets called out and removed from the team and also to criticize giri a bit it seems like art and giri do not have a relationship that I thought they would have because I thought they were best friends and everything apparently that's not true at all that's like one of those things where like the public sort of has his own idea about them but I would be critical of giri because the academy roster for Fury was terrible it never felt like they were developed to be able to replace anybody on Furia now they're taking a player from the team to use as a standin for the main lineup but they let go of desenti Nissim cowz who's now playing for pain they missed out on getting big usera as a lead an aggressive igl in Brazil with insanely good stats and good team play that literally knocked Fury out of qualifying to Lisbon they literally proved them in a head-to-head that they could beat them with the worst team on paper because he's such a good igl and he was on the bench for 6 months and they didn't pick him up the academy lineup themselves are not winning anything in we play they're the worst team in we play and I've supported them for so long they they frigged it up sorry for my Lang anguage [ __ ] actually kind of makes me mad you know and this is even the worst part because the news that comes out today and I'm recording this a week before it comes out uh to you guys the news that comes out today is Art and gir are apparently no longer friends never were apparently lots of decisions that were made art had no bearing in and this is just art account so we don't know what's true but we know that it's not as simple as art got cut he got worse and the team should have cut him I think the team still should have cut him I'm going to be honest about that it's just a performance thing I don't think he was adding to this team when they picked up fall and if they're going to it doesn't make sense uh his play style maybe wasn't working as an igl he didn't grow enough I think that's fair I I I am not here to steal man art to the point that I think oh they should go back to their own lineup or anything but they mismanaged the team for so long that I can give him an excuse for why things went wrong and I mentioned Henny earlier now here's the craziest part art says that they don't cut Henny because he wants to go play with his twin brother Lucas art says they they cut Henny because he showed up a little bit late sometimes for practice and some other things that art himself says he didn't deserve to be cut for that and then he goes on to criticize the orc for all kinds of weird things asking them to be vegan for a bit criticizing when they would go out even if it was a week before an event and what pissed me off about this and this is like the final line for my love for Furia was that as a commentator I was going out to broadcasts talking to overall millions of people over the years telling all of them that Henny decided in a bad career decision to leave Furia to go play with this twin brother when art is saying now that he got cut unfairly from the roster when that was the highest point for Furia in terms of potential that's what pisses me off and that's the final line for me because I'm spending years disparaging Henny essentially I'm going out and telling everybody that he made a terrible decision in his life when in reality he literally got cut and even though the CEO come and say I didn't lie about it I just said something that was also true he omitted in a way that caused harm to an's reputation I I feel so silly for spending all that time saying that so anyway I'm pissed that that's the case and Furia Hy I think many people agree was an incredibly strong version of Furia you can't roll back time and there's no point in trying to make that happen again that's come and gone but that's to say the mismanagement of Fury in these last few years compared to where they started out it's not all one person's fault but it is horrible to watch it's sad to see especially for a team that was so promising and is still carrying the career and reputation of quesado who still has more to offer as one of the best rifl we've seen in Brazilian history to try to get him one s to your land to try to get him a major or something and to try to bring Brazil back they watch so many players go by it is just so so frustrating honestly so yeah that's uh the story of Fury from my perspective thank you guys so much for watching and um as always remember you always got enough money for a deagle [Music]
