The Ringling in Sarasota, Florida | Ca' d'Zan Mansion Tour | ChadGallivanter

[Music] here's the historic marker where the cut is on the house of John the Phoenician gothic palace on Sarasota Bay the palatial home of John and Mabel Ringling was completed in the mid 1920s where you buy your tickets there at the visitor center like a relief on the side of the tower above the front entrance onto the main entryway when God died he left the cottage on the 66 acres the Art Museum and all of the art in it to the people of a state employed until in 1936 when he died he gave this like to people in state government but nobody wanted it they wouldn't take it even though it was a beautiful home it was a beautiful art is a great value there and everything nobody wanted it because of the high civilization John Ringling the last several years of his life lived a very very frugal life he didn't want to lose anything here that he was giving to the people of the state of Florida and the memory and named of his wife Mabel all right already the detail we're heading into the East ballroom that includes several of Naval Ringling's most cherished possessions we look at this huge chair Wow as you can see grapes on the columns there's John Ringling it's the front entrance that has always kept closed unless they have like a special event look at some of these old looks to be like medieval era tapestries now would you like to come and go through that guest the cut is on entered through a gothic arched entrance with 12th of carved walnut doors that were treated to give an old-world appearance if you came through the front door this is the view that you saw the cut is on they these windows see how it looks kind of like a face Oh like that will just look like an owl click on the very top of the windows you'll see what looks to be baskets of fruit there's like the details underneath the window baskets of flowers baskets of vegetables maybe come right down here and this is where John Ringling would dock his boat you know everywhere you look here at Cadiz on there's tons and tons of color everything just like so vibrant what do you think about this marble beautiful it's all the designs and intricacy that went into it right through these gates is the burial site of John and Mabel Ringling it's a really cool spot just to come and meditate these old concrete benches very ornate very detailed it's quite impressive when you start coming at it from this angle 15 pcs in salt water now where's the diving board on the end for that pedestal you imagine swimming and having that house as your backdrop look at that sundial Wow I have to say we visited a lot of these really palatial Gilded Age as states here in Florida but this one might just stop the cake nothing massive Jerry one of the guides here was telling us at the first banyan tree planted here on the property of the Ring Way was actively donated by Thomas Edison suppose right now that need to use extra caution around this area because of falling pinecones so there's like little statues and sculptures mixed in with the banyan trees but hidden and all of this madness of all of these bangin trees is this oddity this is a statue that was apparently placed here by the Ringling's decades and decades ago and the banyan tree has just taken it over look at that it's almost like the statue is calling out for help help me help me hope you like this video from the ring Ling if you did give me a
