Funny thing for me is that this song in particular, I never heard before until 1994, when I went to see Green Day. A band by the name of Die Toten Hosen opened for them that night, and played this song. It was the craziest thing I ever saw. Just people jumping up and down in the crowd, and I had to jump with them or else I was going to get my head elbowed in by someone next to me (I'm rather short).
But it was this concert that I discovered The Ramones and punk rock.
When I build a time machine I'm going to the New Years Eve show they did in London. My biggest musical sadness is I'll never see them live.
Idk how on earth they could play entire gigs at a pace like that (because they did). I tried it once and got through maybe three of their songs (can usually only get through two) at that pace, then I had to sit down for about ten minutes and my strumming hand was throbbing in pain.

Hard to believe that it took them almost 30 years to sell 500,000 units. Wouldn't surprise me if the label was cooking the books to keep royalty payments low.

I had no idea what they were saying until a few years ago. "Beep bop borp" sounding perfectly reasonable to me
