ladies and gentlemen stop what you're doing for a second because this case has caught my attention and is bound to catch yours as well cuz this is the brand new one from fantex it's called the nv5 it shares the same sort of design language as the nv7 that we tested around about 6 weeks or so ago but frankly I thought that case was just a bit too big I mean that's absolutely fine if you need a big chassis that's obviously what you're going to go for but most people are probably going to be looking to something like this but fascinating to me is that this is actually not a particularly expensive chassis I mean to be fair the main thing that fantex have actually done here is listen to me and have opted to not actually include any fans with this at all which is what is able to bring down that price quite a lot you you've still got temperglass on the front on the sides and if we swing this round to the other side hopefully we shall see the case gets stuck we made it hopefully we shall see good cable management and the ability to have a build that I guess is going to be able to be assembled very quickly easily and ultimately fuss free and I'm definitely liking what I'm seeing so far but I'm not sure we're going to know exactly how good this thing is until we get a build on so in this video that is exactly what we're going to do we're going to go for an allwhite build we're going to make it as pretty as possible we'll be telling everything that's great and everything that's maybe not and of course give you some thermal information at the end of the video so you can actually see if this is going to work for your next gaming PC rig so all that's left to do is to get our build on but first here's a quick word from this video sponsor asrock's b650 taii light has arrived and it offers luxury highend performance without the crazy price tag fully supporting PC generation 5 for both graphics and storage this futureproof board is ready for the next Generation you get a cool yet minimal design language smart powerstage vrm and even killer Wi-Fi 6E and 2 and 1/2 gig Lan learn more today with the link down below as you'd expect then from more the case review let's focus in on some more of the closer details of the chassis I mean this is a GPU holder that actually looks nice rather than some others that we've tested that are just a little bit over the top or a little bit plasticky this is definitely something that I think a lot of people would actually want to use you've got this right hand chamber here that's going to be quite flexible as well so if you are going to do like a custom water cool loop or something obviously you've got loads of thickness here so if you want to put some pumps in there maybe you want to have a very long Reservoir or something like that or obviously an allinone you can do that as well you can fit up to a 360 here and a 360 on top I'm going to assume that you do have enough room to actually do 2 360 Reds at the same time but of course it is going to depend on the exact configuration widths and obviously where you're going to do all of your tubing runs from there a 120 on the back as well it's 360 fans pretty much everywhere but then you do also have this 120 down the bottom as well which is going to give you some extra ventilation for your GPU but I should say if you are using a very short card then obviously that's not going to really do too much down there but obviously if you're going for something very big or you do just want the best thermals possible really it is nice and it is appreciated to be able to draw some extra cooling cooling cooling some cool air in from the bottom you also get this little RGB vein that we are starting to see from pretty much all Fant text cases now and rather unusually you can actually extend this as well with an optional kit that will essentially make this go and run the whole perimeter pretty much of the case we'll leave links to all of that stuff and actually all of the parts featured in this video throughout at the description below this video but if we turn this around this is where things do start to look a little bit more basic compared to the more highend cases that we've seen But frankly I don't think too many people are going to be fussed by this because once you've built your system then you're not really going to ever see this again I mean you don't get any hard drive cages or anything which is probably another area where it does reduce the manufacturing cost of this case you can still put up to three hard drives here but they are limited to attach to here so you can get four ssds or three fulls sizee hard drives if you're carrying them over from an older build obviously it is going to make sense to migrate those over to ssds if you can but for pictures and music and stuff it's obviously still nice to have that extra capacity you've got all of your screws and things that you need here but something I have already noticed that was close that most people are definitely going to appreciate are these white cables obviously these are going to color match the color you're going for black cables for a black build white for a white I am a bit annoyed that you still have these ketchup and mustard cables here I mean what's the point of going to so much effort of actually wrapping this if you've still got that showing at the top I know it's not very easy to do but I'm still waiting for a comp to have a perfect solution for this but there we go maybe just have like an extension in why not do that have like your cheap looking thing that you're not going to see and then give you an extension inside the box that will cure this problem but anyway that's a rant for another day turning to the top we do have USB type-c 2 3.1 Gen 2 ports then we have our RGB controls and of course the power button and other than that I don't think there is too much more to report other than we do have some decent Cable Management grommets here but sadly not at the top but to be fair if you're using radiator or something you're probably not likely to notice this anyway of Interest by the way let's have a look at the underside well immediately you can see that there's quite a lot of ventilation here CU you have quite thick legs and obviously you do have that optional GPU fan at the bottom here and then plenty of ventilation for your power supply this is a removable dust filter by the way and if I unscrew these screws here you do have a little bit of cable management as well for your IO but sadly it doesn't look as if we have one of those radiator bracket so any radiators or fans you are going to have to screw directly into the top of the case but frankly I forget to do this regularly all the time anyway it's not a massive issue same for this side piece as well got to screw them into the case rather than using a removable bracket but I think it's time to press on and actually get our build started we're not going to go into too much detail on how to build a gaming PC but obviously you'll be able to see us build it as we go for more information pretty much watch any of the build guides on this channel where we do do everything completely step by step but this is the bit where I haven't actually memorized what this board is called so let's see how clever I am this is the STX b650 non e is it Dash G oh it was the dash a oh end of the video goodbye I mean at this stage I've been building Asus PCS for like 11 or 12 years and I still don't know what that letter means sometimes it is g e a if you know let us know down in the comment section below don't think even Asus know now this of course is an am5 motherboard which means we're going for an AMD CPU the exact one that we're using here is the 7700x from AMD if you can get a hold of the 7700 I would advise doing that as it is a little bit cheaper and it runs a lot cooler but as we're going to be doing some testing of thermals I want to use something that does generate a little bit more heat nothing crazy nothing like an I9 but probably this sort of CPU a lot of people are going to be using in this case let's pop this to one side and grab our chassis lay it down flat as you'd expect all of the standoffs are pre-applied for ATX and you do have this little knobbly built on this middle one that should go ahead and catch our motherboard so let's go and demo that now yeah looks like there's plenty of space here and yeah no hassle at all that just fits in like a breeze does Breeze make sense I don't know anymore let's open up our accessory box where we have our manual and diagrams and things that's actually quite helpful in color don't often see that from manual but then yes you do get one of the best things about buying a fantex case all of the screws neatly separated and sorted for you and it makes it so much easier to actually go ahead and build your PC especially if you're a first timer so let's screw in our silver screws for our white build while we're down here we can proceed to plug in our front panel connections and it is fantastic to see that a lot of Manufacturers now are offering a block that just plugs in as easy as USB you don't have to plug in those individual headers down the bottom right you're also find your addressable R GB header and this is of course used to synchronize your motherboard lighting with the rest of the case personally speaking I probably actually wouldn't use this as I don't like having the RGB software running on my computer but if you are using an Asus motherboard like we are here today it's not actually too bad unless you get that Asus live update bug Services thing that drives me up the wall but to be fair I haven't seen this in a while so maybe that's fixed but yes let's not go off in one let's plug in our addressable RGB down at the bottom what do we got USB 3 oh yes but we do have one more and it's the one that lets the side down that HD audio at the bottom left and yes sure enough you can see your lovely catch up and mustard cables there it gets a solid Shake of the head let's move on now and talk about fans and calling and there are obviously quite a few different options you can go for fantex will want you to use their D30 fans but I don't actually have the RGB ones to hand so we're actually going for something different here today these are the AF 120s from Corsair these are not going to be the absolute quietest but they are going to be able to synchronize with our caller which is the IQ h150i Elite LCD XT God there is a lot of words in that title and this is very very expensive if it was up to me I mean I suppose it is up to me but if I was building this for myself I'd probably just go for like a deep cool LS 720 or something and get it in weight just because then it would be easier to synchronize everything but I know there are plenty of people that do want to have the LCD just to make your PC literally come alive and of course have much better CPU calling as well so buy what you need with this is going to be best case scenario best case scenario never gets old that one does it and to be fair this definitely is going to be the big downside about going for this chassis because you just don't get anything with it as standard when it comes to fans and calling and obviously the problem is you've got this huge gap here that means you basically have to put something inside here or it is just frankly going to look a bit stupid I mean to be fair you could potentially but you're all in one here and then not have any other fans and I'm sure the calling would still be adequate but if you do want to properly complete this and have the full look you need a minimum of one two five fans but to properly complete it you're are of course going to need eight in total and that's going to get expensive however to be perfectly Frank with you I do think that fantex are absolutely making the right decision here and this is something I've been saying for ages because it is wise to offer different cases for different people and there are going to be so many customers that will buy a case like this they're spend an extra Β£ 105 on the case in the first place if it had extra fans in it but then they will just discard them throw it away anyway so this is going to save you a little bit of E-Waste and should you save you that sort of 10 15 quid if you weren't going to use the fans anyway I wonder though whether you can actually remove this bottom bracket and sort of flip it and rotate it around at an angle cuz you could do this on the nv7 so yes it does indeed come out but I don't think this can be rotated round like you had in that other case I think this is actually just removable in case in case you wanted to go for something that is extra long and maybe use a 360 here and here so you could have all of the pipes working without anything interfering which is I don't want to say disappointing because it doesn't really matter but I think it would look nicer if you could have that fan at an angle and it would help as well if you could angle it towards the GPU especially if it's shorter of course the other reason that it's removable though is so you can actually attach this in the first place so make sure the ventilation is actually going up and then we will spin this around and then we'll get it screwed in let us proceed then to get this fitted in there is a tiny bit of cable management right in the corner but it probably would be nice if you could actually go under the case and back through not a massive fan of this though there's definitely a little bit of rattle from this cage where it doesn't have rubber stoppers or just isn't insecure enough I don't think it'll be a massive problem but if you do get vibrations be aware it could be from this the last thing really that we do need to do is to grab our Corsair h150 and of course get this installed I'm hoping it's not going to be difficult but as regular viewers of the channel know I hate radiators let's do ourselves a quick little test fit if we were going to put this at the side you would have loads of room actually if you did want to do two 360 radiators I imagine as I say not every single configuration is going to work but most of them should you got loads of room here which is cool and even if you want to do push pull but just for testing purposes as long as you can fit these three layers you should be fine but yeah do be careful on the sort of size of your RAM we're going to place our fans on top with the blades blowing air through the radiator and up at the top and obviously make sure that the cables are going to be landing the right way so you can of course tuck them around the other side and you just line it up with the top grab your screws and get this fitted down feed the rest of these black cables through to the top that to be fair once again probably is the right choice cuz it Blends in with a PCB and then we can get to the bit that you've no doubt been dreading the cable management and it doesn't look as bad today because all of the cables are white but I assure you there's just as many as there normally are however we are going to be remedying this a bit with our different controllers so all of our case fans are going to be on this one we can do up to six on this I think actually we get our back plate and put this back on because our controller is going to mount on the inside of this and then we will proceed to do the same with our all-in-one pump controller say pump controller this is actually the fan controller but you get the gist that can go at the top there and then when we close that once everything's managed everything will be very deep well it certainly feels like a mess but I'm hoping this kind of just goes away now that everything's plugged in yeah it's a bit weird cuz obviously when you open the door well you're going to see it all again but out of sight out of mind so I guess with that the only real thing left to do is to install our graphics card and of course our power supply I'll do the GPU first cuz let's be honest it's just a lot more exciting and this is one that you might struggle a bit to locate if you want to buy this for yourself but it's one that colorful full sent out it's part of their AME branding and this is probably the most beautiful white GPU that I own here at PC Centric HQ I mean okay it's in a little bit tight but if you can ignore that you will find one of the most beautiful graphics cards I think you can get your hands on I mean look at that it's definitely a bit out there not everyone is going to like the pink accents and things but I think if you are going for a white build and you want it to have just that little bit extra flare this is definitely something is quite unique I'll see if I can track this down and find a site that does have it but yeah this is a 4070 ti so this is going to be perfect for 144 CP maybe even a bit of light 4K gaming depends on the game of course what is this going to look like I'm thinking pretty darn awesome but you never know until it's in yeah boy look at that that's pretty cool isn't it I'm hoping that this GPU bracket is going to be adjustable enough to actually get this in place I imagine it will be then we we can see if we can adjust this which of course we can there we go HCK that on there like that oh give that a Titan and is that level yeah I think it is as for the last piece of the puzzle though we do of course have our power supply and I wouldn't normally use this one anymore because unfortunately I think it's been discontinued which is a bit annoying this one only just came out this is the CX 750f RGB but this is going to be a nice example of a power supply that comes with white cables which once again is going to be key for this rig I think we'll plug in our CP cable right away at the top plug in all of our cables hopefully there's no clashes down here oh yes just about there we go cables through and in and then hopefully the final piece of the puzzle actually my other favorite bit which is plugging in the power supply to the graphics card as this means that everything is done there we go just like that make sure it's in nice and tight of course and then there should be our completed rig that actually was a lot easier than I thought I mean it was timec consuming I think it's taken a couple hours really because obviously we've added so much into this space but it was nice not to have to as I say take out and throw away any fans that you don't need I would like a little bit more cable management down the bottom for that lower fan and some form of angle bracket that I'm sure you can buy third party would make a lot more sense cuz then you can actually angle it towards this GPU I'm not sure this is going to do that much other than just Aesthetics but to be honest when you've got this sheer amount of fans in the first place anyway I don't think it matters too much you could also incorporate more pink accents throughout this maybe if you're artistic you could add a little bit of some decoration down there but I think once you have like some pink RGB on this lower strip and then maybe make the rest of the fans a bit more tasteful I think you're going to have a pretty well themed rig and I'm really excited to get this thing turned on only thing I should show you before we do that is round the back and actually I'm pretty pleasantly surprised because this is is the PC Centric minimal Cable Management this is zero effort basically beyond what I think everyone will do and you can see that if you're a lazy person like me it's yeah pretty easy to get something that does look good maybe use that strap as well for that so yeah definitely very very impressed with the build process very streamlined very easy not absolutely perfect and as I say the fans are going to be an extra cost but beyond that for Β£85 or 95 for this white version consider me impressed let's proceed to get this thing turned on though shall we we need to see if it works which means plugging in our monitor probably need a keyboard and mouse oh look what I just found it's the PC Centric mouse mat that yes I will profit from if you buy this # add you can find it link down below I mean the quality of this is just something to behold but yes here we go Moment of Truth is it going to work oh it does actually look as if it's all plugged into the right place I mean there's nothing lighting up on the motherboard which is never a particularly good sign well it's not the power supply cuz I'm testing this now and that's what happens which unfortunately means it's probably the motherboard of the CPU somehow right okay then give me half an hour an hour a day I don't know however long to sort of swap some bits out and get this to work and I will give you the temperatures but I might be wearing a new t-shirt by then I told you didn't I I told you it was going to take a while to fix as you can see we have swapped out the motherboard and that did fix the problem however what we've got going on here is actually a lot more Sinister than that because I did it all quickly just to sort of test what was working we tried the power supply swapping at the ram those different sorts of things but actually we did get it working and then I tightened all of the screws on the motherboard with the new NZXT one that you can see here and then we actually ran into the exact same problem which to me actually indicates that it might be the case having some form of put shall we say into the demise if you like of our system I think it's just down to the standoffs and maybe there's a bit of the motherboard that was sort of touching the metal tray or there's something weird going on there anyway so if you are going to build in this case and you do experience the same problems do what I've done here which is to sort of loosen up the screws and see if that can help to fix the problem I will be looking into this and I'll be updating this with some notes and things so you can see exactly what the problem was but if you ask me if I test this after this video and then this mother works in the exact same orientation and obviously we saw the same problem with this motherboard then I'm thinking it is the actual screwing of the motherboard that could be causing us some issues here but anyway let's press on and actually sort of talk about the rest of the build and the case but what we can all agree on is just how fantastic this case and this build looks I mean yes obviously you are going to have to add a lot of the stuff yourself the case can only take you so far mainly really being those fans but actually I really like the look that we've got on going here with this like Corsair watercolor and it really does work quite nicely as well with this NZXT motherboard cuz you've now got this full White theme we've even got a gif on the caller so this is definitely a very high-end build make no mistake about it but I think it really does show that this case can accept the hardware and really can show it off in its best light but I think it's now time to do the peel this is definitely the bit I've been looking forward to do this entire video and just like that we now have our rig actually maybe there is one more on the front we've got a double peel here today yeah come on that looks absolutely Sublime and when I was testing this last night as well with had the lights off and we could sort of see this in its full glory and it really did look absolutely gorgeous but obviously it's not all about looks it is also about thermals and performance obviously the noise levels and things are going to depend purely really based on the hardware that you put inside it how much heat it generates how good the fans are how low you tune those fans but it should give us a good idea of what's capable if you're going to do this high in rig right then so here we are this is the latest version of cyber Punk we've got this running at rate racing Ultra 4K DSS performance with frame generation and actually the frame rate is very impressive I mean I did say this was a very flexible graphics card we're currently getting around about 90 FPS the lcen is good as well about 50 milliseconds or so whilst recording so you're probably going to get about 45 milliseconds or so if you were not but yeah this is definitely a very nice smooth experience we've got all of the Bells and whist tools it shows you the full capabilities of this machine but obviously this is more about the case itself and it's a bit of a tough one to test really cuz it is going to be all down to what you put inside this I mean we've got so many fans in here obviously the temperatures are going to be great I mean what's that 62Β° on the GPU and 59 on the CPU I will also say though that this is overkill really this CPU Cooler for a 7700x you don't necessarily need that but clearly there's a lot more potential in here if you did want to go for like a more heat generating I9 or something it is nice to see that if you are going to populate this you do have some fantastic airf flow I still think this fan down the bottom is not the most useful in the world without it being angled but other than that I don't think you're going to have any problems whatsoever just make sure that you do tune your fans because even though I've done that this is already is definitely not loud but it's slightly louder than I would want so I would tune this again but this should give you an idea now if you have any noise in the background whatsoever you're not going to hear that but there's clearly a lot more potential in here for a better tune so yeah there you go plenty of performance plenty of thermal performance as well but with our exact configuration here we're not really using much of it so there you go let me know your thoughts then on the nv5 is this a case that really does take you fancy do agree with me that the price of this is excellent and if you are going to upgrade the fans anyway then that's actually a good thing or would you rather go for a more value orientated option that has decent enough fans included and then you wouldn't bother swapping them out
