The Perfumed Hair of Empress Sisi of Austria

Empress Elizabeth of Austria also known as empress DC was born on December 24 1837 known for her intense Beauty regimens she was the epitome of a fairy queen and if this is your first time hearing about her buckle up because she was referred to as the Princess Diana of her time her super brief biography was that when she was 15 years old she accompanied her mother and her sister to Austria because it was expected that her sister Helen would become engaged to Emperor friends Joseph they were in mourning for a relative who had recently died so they were dressed all in black CeCe looked amazing Helen not so much so CeCe was the one that ended up marrying the emperor and they were first cousins because their moms were sisters so other than her royal charity work she was most known for her slenderness she was about five foot eight and only weighed 110 pounds she was also very into tight lacing which made her waist even more slender CeCe was also known for her gorgeous floral length hair as well as her prowess as an equestrian for her beauty regimens she would wear face masks of crushed strawberries and honey and she would also take baths in olive oil as well as cold showers she also wore face masks at night with raw veal her hair was washed once every three weeks with a mixture of eggs and cognac it would take the entire day to wash and dry her hair now here's where the perfume comes into account CeCe actually didn't really like perfume or makeup she really liked to Showcase her natural beauty but she did like to spray her hair with floral Essences just Orange Blossom Rose and violet and there are two perfumes that it is presumed that she sprayed her hair with both of which you can still get the first is Purina 1709 eau de cologne it was also a favorite of Queen Victoria and Napoleon Farina is one of the oldest perfume makers out there they even have a museum that you can tour they have historical records that CeCe was a client now if she did buy this for herself it is most likely that she sprayed it in her hair and not necessarily on her skin and we know that her beloved cousin Ludwig II of Bavaria also known as the swan king and the Builder of fairy tale castles granted Farina a royal warrant second is a perfume created for her by Creed it is called Fantasia de Floor it features heavy Rose Iris and Amber green now if you've watched my other perfume histories you know that Creed actually sends perfumes to pretty much all heads of state so when you're looking up famous or historical people and it says that they were Creed unless you can find documentary evidence of that take it with a grain of salt because like I said they send it to everybody and then say oh they wear this perfume Genius marketing I wish I had that level of confidence my collection if you want a floral scent for your skin or hair there's Antoinette Georgiana Bolin and Artemisia find more perfume history Ahmed
