The Perfect Rolex - The OP 124300 Silver

[Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] welcome back to the timeless watch channel guys yes another unboxing i have a lot to do i just unboxed the tudor you see right behind there if you're interested in seeing that one go back and look at the previous video uh the perfect tutor for me at least absolutely adore it but on this episode i'm gonna do yes another one of the five-pointed crown but i am going to show you uh something really cool nick aka svanamir a watcher of the channel sent me this lovely gift here look at this i guess nick or svanomir i don't know how he wants to be called was looking at my uh my whiskey glasses and he wasn't satisfied with what he saw so he's like can you drink that beautiful whiskey out of real whiskey glasses please so these arrived just the other day from glenn caron glass in scotland this is real crystal this is like a hundred dollar gift right here look at those puppies wow isn't that pretty come on this was a gift from my good friend marcus uh engraved with a lovely message there bottle of 27 year old uh red breast this is a 600 bottle guys as always a great joy to open a brand new watch happy days spectacular wow i've been picking up a lot of watches lately now when the new oyster perpetuals the 41 mils were announced last year and the 39 millimeters were discontinued they brought out a whole exciting line of course there's the tiffany the famous tiffany the coral red the green the yellow and so on but the one i was most excited about was this one i didn't care for the colored ones in fact i went into my authorized dealer it's in one of my videos from last year i went back just to check and i was trying on the tiffany i could have said look i want this watching you know can you get me one they would have put me on the list and i probably would have gotten it i just didn't care for it i didn't like it that much the one i was really after was this one and the truth is all the oyster perpetuals are going up in value and becoming harder and harder to get not as crazy as the tiffany but they're all going up and i thought well i should get my hands on this while i can anyway because it's still my favorite so i'm gonna stop talking now and open the damn thing there she is reference one two four three 300. this is the op that i've been listening after since they announced the new ones and it's the one that was the commercial you know and then when they first announced it they had that big video with the music and the close-ups and the watch sweeping past the camera it was this one wasn't the tiffany it was this so here it is in the flesh i finally picked it up domed bezel of course so has that classic oyster watch look and beautiful curvature along the side i was talking about this recently in a video that i made about the daytona that there are two families of watch shape in the rolex catalog there's the submariner type by the way what am i wearing i'm wearing the soap itself and you have that kind of slab side and then you have this elegant curvature which you'll find on these on the datejust the yacht-master 40s and of course the daytona's they just have a sexy profile whereas the other sports line the gmts the sea dwellers the sub etc have that slab look much more of a tool kind of watch but look at that how elegant that is all satin of course classic oyster perpetual don't be put off by the tape here i when i get a watch like this this is completely unworn watch brand new and i always put tape on the clasp full satin bracelet and of course that simple clasp that just opens it's one snap closed beautiful they're my favorite clasps from from rolex because the new ops have that easy link thing going on you've got that extra five millimeters there if you want just to you know on a sweaty day your wrist is expanding a bit you can give yourself some breathing room i find that's enough i don't need a glide lock i don't need to you know measure out my wrist i just need a little bit of elbow room and then i'm good simple and elegant watch i'm not sure you need any more rolex than this let me put it on real quick this is the 40 mil submariner the previous version the 116610ln the classic just in case you're wondering i have 7.7 inch wrists very big wrists not fat i don't think we could all lose a few pounds but i don't think that's the reason i just i'm just a big burly guy i'm like jason mamoa but without the super handsomeness what do you think of that now there's one thing i do with all my watches especially rolex i like to put the clasp this direction normally you should put it in the center i think it's the best configuration for most but i have a tendency for my watches to kind of drift off in that direction i wind up with a watch hanging off over here something about the way my arm is made so i like to have it a little more taut on this side so i usually remove as many links as i can on this side and put them over here and that way i get this kind of squared off look as well i kind of like that and it pulls the watch in this direction let's take a look at what we got in the box there are no extra links here i've got big arms as i said but for most of you i think you probably have one link removed um this is all the usual stuff nothing odd here oyster perpetual this is the new type of card rolex have recently changed their cards and their tudor cards as well and they have this gold outline and no actual information on the buyer it used to be that you'd put your name in or they would write your name in or your initials and your last name or something like that but that's gone it's now in a chip on the inside and they activate it by placing it against their cell phone they have an app in the authorized dealer this ugly taper is just covering the serial number and as you can see it's from the very end of 2021 so brand new watch for me it was just about getting one of these things before all the oyster perpetuals were were unavailable or were or were just before they skyrocketed even the price of this now is it's double it's trading at double it's it's retail price which used to be a crazy thing but in the world of oyster perpetuals now it's not at all seeing as the tiffany is now trading at 10 times in some cases its price or at least six or seven times its retail price and that's beginning to happen to the coral red and the yellow and so on as well the black the deep blue and this one more traditional looking um configurations you might say haven't been as affected as the others because the others are so funky and strange and weird and of course the tiffany got everybody excited because it sounds like it's from tiffany but it isn't it has nothing to do with tiffany at all and the blue isn't even a tiffany blue really it's kind of different but it's i suppose similar um people just got excited about those and uh overlooked these and now these are creeping up in the market and if you do find one at that price and you like this watch and you have the money you should get it because it'll only be a matter of maybe even just weeks before this thing is more expensive today's price is not tomorrow's price guys that's the rule with rolex right now let's take a look at the loom for a moment of course it's rolex's new luminova also known as chromalite apparently lasts longer and has that aqua blue with a slight green hint to it let me put on the watch ugh of course magnificent 904l steel with that deep luster almost looks like a precious metal sometimes simple elegant tasteful watch now of course the 41 mil size bigger than the 39 mil previous generation also comes with a wider bracelet they increase the width here from 20 mils to 21 load to log so you have a more substantial clasp and bracelet it's for the bigger guys otherwise you can go for the 36 mils more of a classic size if that's more you but i'm delighted with this size and that's it guys one last look there ain't she pretty beautiful and some wonderful red breasts 27 year old the next video i'm doing is the audemars piguet royal oak that's a big one and of course it will have this uh
