The Originals Interview + Final Season Preview | Comic-Con 2017 | TVLine

we are here in the TV lioness suite at Comic Con with the cast of the originals we did a panel earlier today a little emotional I promise this is going to be going to be loose loosey-goosey yes you know say one thing that you're always totally another thing not to be drills of like Klaus Mikaelson there's quite a thing honest show of hands literally aspiring to do a little before we go really no we're ready yeah we're good oh we're already good show of hands on a show of hands when you wrap the season four finale how many of you in your minds were like this is the theory's finale people have been saying that all day I'm like why like I never thought it was the end I never liked I says well we just have to protect ourselves because you just never know these days in this business but like I seriously did not take glue we're not coming back but like all three to break everyone's like club's been really lovely and like what what are we saying goodbye which what's happening I feel some pretty emotional goodbye yeah that's going to be embarrassing go down here I think there may have been an Instagram post somebody thought you guys got like matching tattoos or something those here for like I like a little picture of me in a picture for you why do they need to do yeah that's probably yes yes oh hey oh hey hello I am a millennial the people Elias golf all got tattoos the next thing it is really yeah it's all sorted I think let's all decide right now what you are you guys all going to go entirely search or search okay any hard send-up of snake eating its no that's our board or board was doing it you shouldn't have that early years and that's like one of those mythology things the show is that it's always been it's dense it's ten yeah and then make a number if you have to read before you come on the show yeah no really there is the director Santos what a season there was a lot of words but I had never heard it before there was one episode we were editing and literally like four out of the nine characters were all working on their own individual magic bow and the whole thing was like intercut and i said at that moment I was like never again like one spellin episode at the most it's not no magic at all that's our goal question is where to memorize laugh in my arms you have to say it over and over and over and I think like when it was especially nice a in a hotel or on airplane be practicing like people next to me you think I'm crazy just like saying these like Latin terms over and over and over it's like a girl only way you can memorize it yeah I've always wondered I don't speak Latin myself is it always Latin or is it sometimes like bastardize Latin and French so you we'd take the phrase we translate it and then we like news letters around and move words around and make it so that it's not an actual language but it has roots in from the eyes Julie I know you said that you know you don't take advice from from the actors in terms of what they want but now I want to give you guys an opportunity dream ending for all of your characters season five how do you how do you want to go out most you're kind of what looped yes throwing beads yes it's a ladies yeah yeah I like that a hand in the woman Anna and you say I'm inflexible I just totally took that idea you thousand yeah it's hard not to think of it being like a tragedy just oh I don't know right till they strung up dead on a float I just said that I would like to see Vincent in some sort of relationship maybe that could happen but I trust Julie I trust the rightest whatever happens would be good there was a deleted scene I think I got cut I don't know if it was shot or what but we're Marhsall kind of handed consensus oh yeah like yeah for the city yeah we uh we realized everyone we were 75 minutes long and and scrapping for any any little couplets of here and there throughout all the scenes but we also realized that when we come back the story that we planned it was kind of more of a peaceful communal reign of New Orleans and so it actually our plans for the future kind of negated our need for that little piece of the scene but it's essentially if it's a proxy vote for sure he was handing him the keys but now it's it's Vincent and Josh and Hayley and Freya and they have like little you know HOA meetings at Russo's every October talk about how to get the city under control ten years we officially tenure dungeon we're eight years three months two weeks seven hours 42 minutes and three seconds and I believe you until today I'm a NASA probe oh it is a massive heart it is now eight years all I can happen in that time I don't neither of them are here right now but should we assume that the cold of you know wedding went down in that time yes I think we can't assume that it happened off screen but we will see a sort of cutaway of People magazine where they have the photo I don't even know what that would look like but I kind of need to see me who wore it best Bastian or Davina I mean you mentioned Davina ah while you lemon humid for attentively right here we go the only lady is Billa down here it's a Degas crying we all saw that I've been able to do one I mean Davina is one of many characters that I think people would love to see again we'll pretend I didn't ask you this in the pencil how many sort of familiar faces might we be able to expect to see again well much like when we enter the Vampire Diaries we made a wish list of all the other people whether we love them personally or love their characters that we wanted to try to see again before the series ended and that anything of that really gave us that opportunity to do so and I think with this it's more about making sure that was touch base back with all the characters that we've known odds over the years and give them their own sense of an ending as well so the list is the list is not as long as it was in the Vampire Diaries because we killed a lot of people on that show but yeah I mean Davina know there's a plan I had with luck to see damina again and Kol obviously in Rebekah and the Debra Lynn sisters the Deveraux sisters yes the first kill right in that place obviously people are very very excited about the return of Caroline in the form of Salvatore voice avid supporters of Salvatore they're probably so the hydrogen source - saboteur I know you said that she's going to be in hopefully more than more than just the premiere but was she interacting with well in the first episode she really just had scenes with with Josh which is well I think we find I think though a nice chemistry and a good banter I think the audience really enjoyed I don't think they'd let that another four walk you through yeah cool I think literally found the one you like ever does is plot to make it I can't think about one reason why Josh another how many characters have met Caroline Bri - I think the three on the county line in it Caroline I can't remember the legend that Caroline you know I don't think so I don't think I ever did anything I don't know if you did it I mean they may be in no you are all at the original ball together right right right yeah sort of across the room it's actually really funny Daniel I remember interviewing you like whenever Elijah was first introduced season two and I there was something that was like I somebody sent some chemistry between like Elijah and Elena and I was like I've a bad things going to happen and things like that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever yeah I feel like you were advocated for that one so somebody was yeah yeah definitely I think we did at one point when we were drinking yeah oh no no I end up with a twin right double ganger Katherine yeah generally sort of what do you guys think your your characters have been up to in this Alec do you think about what they've been up to in those eight years how much will be I guess that's a really question like how much will be focused on what happened in those eight years versus what's happening now it's mostly you know we're catching up with everybody dropping right back into the moment we're right back into the moment where we find them you know so little things get revealed over their first few scenes for example like oh my goodness look at that guy over there that's waving at hey leo they're dating you know and and so the audience can discover it along as we go and as opposed to really trying to play a lot of catch-up that being said there are some questions or mysteries about like for example why is hope wondering or her father is like why isn't Klaus in touch with hope because when we last saw them it seemed that they would make it work you know even if they had to be from afar but they haven't spoken in many years when we come back so there are questions that will be answered don't follow my goal don't it's already pulling a Michael Bay the first part of it like the first week in times like selfishly we read an opener a wall you know I don't want how selfishly in another place like you know murdering people offend on some rampage just figure to himself in the wall here dad when I want to live up to in 30 episodes but there came in black therefore there can't good look at you just like I don't know it's the end of the day know what else you want to know if I am curious is this the last your last interview of the up today yes we're going to get all get tattoos of you to conclude this are not sure whether this and the Vampire Diaries last interview of if the entire run was right here in this room most I call me the closer your ability and plus it's want to touch on new hope have you been Joe about on the panel in Connecticut so they haven't come in the new hope put them save the dad jokes for another time have you guys all met the the actress playing yeah yeah oh these are the read-through we did the research in really had good see that is not exchange is good a bit yes when she study Breanna and pushes like she's gel on my butt the cap yes helping the resentment she's creating we have two agents on that time to roll over against le le allies which leads me to the question that I think a lot of the fans have we keep hearing the word spin-off I don't know it's floating around there is that a real like a thing that you're thinking about you know it's real in my head and in order for it to become real in life I have to actually find it all up here and then like find a way to put it out there and that could be very soon it could be it could be years from now it's really just about me kind of getting my my head together with it but obviously you know we all we all know the seeds I've been planting I've been doing it now for a little bit you know and I over every love I love the seeds that are sprouting there's nothing official
