I don't I I actually think they've approached this offseason exactly the right way which is you're as Allin as you could possibly be throw everything in the middle of the table and hope it works if I don't do what I know I'm capable of doing we're all probably going to be out of here so I like that kind of pressure though cuz if they're healthy they're [Music] contenders the 20123 offseason spectacle that was Aaron rogers's signing to the New York Jets offered a rare glimmer of Hope for a doomed franchise for the first time in years there was optimism in a genuine belief that playoff football was right around the corner that Joy lasted just four snaps and when we fast forward to present day now it seems to be a little bit of deja vu for everyone now preseason hype is dangerously high as the future Hall of Fame quarterback returns to Pilot a supremely talented Jets team jets are better around Aaron this season than they were heading into last season can they break the curse and capitalize on this one last shot at the Super Bowl Aaron Rogers thrived as the darling of Hard Knocks in 2023 they say about Aon Rogers on TV is a lie entering the fry as the savior of the franchise that they needed so desperately it was simply euphoric inside MetLife Stadium when like finally they had something to be excited for or so they thought in true Jets fashion the Aaron Rogers honeymoon lasted just four snaps as the future Hall of Fame quarterback suffered an injury so so heartbreaking for fans that even a Hollywood film writer would have felt it was too unbelievable the jet season was completely over dooming fans to another year of disappointment before it had even started and I mean truly the one like good thing that came out of this devastating time and devastating injury for Aaron roders was that it was so early in the season that it allowed him to fully recover like there is absolutely no doubt that Aaron roders is fit and ready to go in 2024 the team once again is readying them eles to put themselves into position to be a Super Bowl Contender the defense remained at their brilliant best in 2023 which means Rogers can once again come in as the savior in 2024 like I mean it's fair to say that he truly is the missing piece of this team and they're trying to do something that they haven't done since 2002 and despite the similarities between this offseason and last offseason in 20123 there are several differences that should make jets fans even more excited the team has taken some supporting Rogers to the next level bringing in a fantastic collection of veterans and rookies alike general manager Joe Douglas has gone Allin which will be much appreciated by Rogers who consistently saw his request for wide receiver Talent ignored in Green Bay the offense of additions this year have given him everything he needs to succeed and Rogers will be very aware of the fact that he has to deliver Garrett Wilson has somebody opposite him to play wide receiver that can be impactful and draw some attention like like a Mike Williams in their new acquisition it means that their pass game flourishes Bree Hall on the back field it would be hard not to put this roster into the AFC title game nothing can be taken for granted at his age and this season may be his last crack at another title the primary editions to the offense have come along the offensive line which was a position group that Douglas rightly prioritized yeah I think a primary objective of the off season was fortifying the offensive line I think that was that was goal one you'll feel good about what we were able to accomplish there but uh still a lot ahead from a mental makeup standpoint really excited about the group uh we know Morgan he's a warrior we'll get to know Tyron as we go but uh when he's on the field he's pretty darn good and uh John Simpson I mean he's a war daddy so we're excited to get him in the building also like I mean frankly whether Rogers tore his ACL in week one of last season or not he was going to get killed all season long either way because the Jets offensive line last year was horrendous like the dude would have been sacked nonstop last year they were a complete complete liability and it would have been a nightmare for an aging quarterback like Rogers improvements were desperately needed and thankfully they have arrive Tyron Smith brings his Pro Bowl level talent to the left tackle position lining up for a new team for the first time in his career after over a decade of success in Dallas he has given up just five sacks over the last 6 years bringing some much-needed quality to the offensive line Smith at left tackle and Aaron Rogers under Center is a combination of experience and Excellence that not many teams get to boast about I've been a fan of his for a long time he's a Hall of Fame player and uh damn he's a specimen I mean he is a he's big strong uh man and look his presence alone at the left tackle position is something that is going to just be great for the Jets offensive line but Douglas didn't stop there a phone call to Baltimore landed him the ever Dependable Morgan Moses via trade in Moses Douglas has been able to book in his offensive line and ensure Rogers receives the best prote ction possible for just a fourth round pick it was a bargain for the New York Jets further reinforcements came in the form of another Baltimore player John Simpson who will slot into the left guard position to be able to uh get a majority of our objectives done in free agency it it freeze us up and gives us great flexibility moving forward as we as we talk about Pick 10 and and really the entire draft we can really focus on the best player available for us but the reality is winning off Seasons doesn't matter we got to win football games and no matter how how much excitement there is around the organization no matter how much excitement there is around free agency or the draft none of it matters we just got to keep our heads down and find ways to get better continue to have a great offseason when we get to the season we got to find a way to put wins in the win column and Olu fanu who arrived via the 10th pick in the 2024 NFL draft amidst all the talk of trading up for a wide receiver or using the 10th overall selection to bolster the offense with Brock Bowers who I really did think they were going to take Douglas kept a cool head and made an excellent pick with fashanu the highly touted Prospect out of Penn State has prototypical size and strength combined with the body quickness that suggests he will be a pro bowl tackle down the line and I mean in fashanu 2o Douglas picked up the future left tackle and what better way or what better person I should say to learn from than Tyron Smith fashu has the best footwork of any offensive lineman I can remember entering the draft for a long time I think he has the best pass protecting skill set of any offensive lineman to enter the draft in a long time I don't really care that his run blocking isn't good at the moment give me that and let me roll with everything else I have way more questions about everybody else than I have about fashion he also has the potential to make an impact in his rookie year coming in as an injury replacement when Smith inevitably misses time because of injury Smith hasn't played a full season since 2015 which means fashanu selection makes even more sense protecting Aaron roders needs to be the priority and he should now feel very safe in the pocket obviously him and I both want to stay healthy this year and be able to play all 17 and then end of the playoffs but just having his leadership the coolest thing for me to I have a front row seat I've watched the last two days I've watched Morgan Moses pull Carter Warren aside it was more like Carter I think maybe grabbing Morgan and watch them talk about right tackle play and then today I got back to my locker and there was Olu picking uh tyron's brain so it's pretty cool see those guys get back to the young guys and in true Allin fashion the Jets didn't ignore the offensive skill positions either following the selection of Olu Fano New York opted to continue bolstering the offensive side of the ball through the selection of wide receiver Malachi Corley and running back brillan Allen both players bring a unique and very useful skill set to an offense that already has Garrett Wilson and Bree Hall leading the way the Jets were aggressive in acquiring Malachi Corley trading up for him at the top of the third round Rogers said last week that Corley was his favorite receiver in the 2024 draft there there that guy in the middle that can kind of hey a little short intricate route or get the speed sweep reversed or catch a screen and get up field and get 15 or 20 yards that's where I think the value of Malachi Corley is going to come into play uh so yeah it's good to hear that they're excited about him he does have you know some things that are intriguing Mike Corley fits nicely into the offense giving Rogers an enticing Target to aim for on short passes and screens and I think he's really going to shine on those short passes and screens considering how good he is after the catch and just how many yards he's going to be able to get with Garrett will continuing in the alpha role in a new acquisition in Mike Williams presenting a big Target downfield the Jets have a pass catching core that will dominate secondaries Adam Bree Hall out of the backfield and Rogers truly does have everything he needs to put together a strong season and look with all of these offensive additions that the Jets have made you can't help but be excited and hope that they do do something this season one quick thing I wanted to mention also is that if you guys have not make sure to join my Discord where we are doing monthly giveaways in June I should be doing two autograph Jersey giveaways so make sure you join over there and during the NFL season we will have some huge fantasy leagues and weekly and season long pick thems for big cash prizes and I mean the best part about all of this is that it's free to join so I highly recommend joining we're trying to build a community over there but let's hop right back into the video like I mean a lot of people forget how good this defense was last year and if this offense can even just get to being League average they will undoubtedly because of all the additions that they've made in the past two Years be legitimate contenders that really a lot of people are forgetting about 2023 needs to start being kind of brought back to the team in 2024 because they're better than they were last year like this team is legit and they are trying to contend for their first division title since 2002 and hell why stop there the Kansas City Chiefs are by far and way the best team in the NFL and the Jets almost beat them last year with a quarterback in Zach Wilson like this team is legit going back to that game last year the elite New York defense held Mahomes to 180 yards one touchdown and two interceptions falling to just a three-point deficit the same defense is returning in 2024 in this time they have one of the most talented quarterbacks to ever play the game piloting an offense that has brought in several significant upgrades and while most of the defense did return and most of the key guys I should say did return for this defense there are some notable names that are worth mentioning that will change up some roles in this his defense Bryce Huff was allowed to walk in free agency following a career best 10 sacks in 2023 his pass rushing prowness will undoubtedly be missed but the Jets did sign Hassan reic to help soften the blow the seven season vet offers more than a well-rounded skill set than huff and is coming off his fourth double digit sack season in a row he may not be quite as dynamic as Huff as a pass rusher but he will certainly play a big role in 2024 John Franklin me Myers was also traded away with Javon kinlock coming in to add reinforcements to the defensive line kinlaw was drafted by the 49ers when head coach Robert solo was the defensive coordinator but the big defensive tackle has struggled so far in his career now when we go just to the coaching staff alone when we look at solah he's just been tremendous and San Francisco he took over a subpar 49er defense that was Rock Bottom on points conceded three years later their 19 half points conceded were seventh Fest and their 284 yards conceded were second fewest Sol absolutely transformed that unit into a force that led the 49ers to the Super Bowl that year only to fall short against the Chiefs and look this guy is a sharp defensive mind he has arguably produced one of the best defenses in the league in his time in New York and although there are some question marks around his just capability to be a great head coach I still think he's the guy and can get the job done I mean look at what Dan Campbell's done in Detroit I think the same thing could happen in New York also there is a lot to be excited about out for the Jets Rogers is healthy and ready to lead the best offense this team has seen in years combining perfectly with salah's dominant defense to produce a Super Bowl ready roster and I mean to make things even better the path to winning a division title I'd say has even gotten easier because of the moves the other teams in the division have made Buffalo had to shed several big names in order to comply with the Sal cap which should make them much more vulnerable in the AFC East Josh Allen is legit he's pretty good but even he will struggle in an offense that has no clear-cut number one wide receiver and yes I'm sure people are going to argue and say Keon Coleman has been drafted to be the guy but his skill sets suggest that he is better suited in the slot where Buffalo has already said they want him to take over Stefon diggs's role he is a big Target in a contested catch machine but the lack of Separation ability has to concern you given he will be a much important role on the outside elsewhere in the AFC East Miami are of course a threat but they have had their issues late in the season and I mean I do not think two is a legit quarterback but I'll be giving the edge to Aaron Rogers and the Jets too because they're just that much better than the Dolphins in my opinion so I mean I think it's safe to say that all the pieces are falling right in place for the Jets and I mean it can't be a more perfect time too like they are going all in at a time when really there is no like for sure team that can win this Division and it's pretty wide open of course one factor that fans of the Jets will be most pleased about is the knowledge that a Zach Wilson L Jets team is completely out of the equation it never worked out for the former second overall selection and despite there being no doubt that he was in a very tricky situation last year fans will be relieved to know that that era of New York football is over the very smart decision to bring in Tyrod Taylor as the backup should also be very appreciated by fans Taylor is a steady Pair of Hands who is a far more reliable option to pick up the Reigns should anything happen to Rogers his experience and ability to operate the offense should keep playoff hopes alive in a worst case scenario and look 2024 might just be the year for the New York Jets the Aaron Rogers hype train is truly just it needs to be filled up once more because this team has exactly what he needs to make one last run at a Super Bowl the future Hall of Fame quarterback is more than capable of propelling this offense and the best defense in the league to the Super Bowl for the first time since the 1968 season but I want to know what you guys think how good are the Jets I truly do think that they're a bit of a sleeper right now and I'd put them as a top 10 team in the league like Aaron Rogers is going to make the playoffs and once he's in the playoffs we all know how deadly he can be until he runs into the 49ers but they're on the opposite side of the bracket now so who knows but as always I want to know what you guys think let me know and I will catch you guys in the next one
