this is the audience id4 the best budget sounding audio interface under 200 and a clear winner versus The Scarlet solo third generation but there has been an update and at 60 dollars less the fourth generation solo could be unbeatable [Music] decade and a half focusrite have dominated the budget audio interface Market selling over 5 000 Scarlet solo interfaces per month on Amazon us alone even though this interface was so successful it still had a few flaws that I think this new fourth generation will Rectify starting off with what you get in the Box the fourth gen includes a USB a to USBC cable the hitmaker software bundle including Ableton Live Lite and Taurus auto-tune addictive Keys massive these plugins mini Pros use having a look at the front panel you've got a line instrument input 48 volts of phantom power and focusrite's air feature got input levels around the gain knobs monitor outputs direct monitoring and a headphone input with its own headphone gain knob the third generation did not have a dedicated headphone volume knob but luckily it's been sorted personally I really like the new monitor levels around each knob it's definitely a lot better than the older green and red indicators moving on to the back panel we've got an XLR input balance monitor output Kensington lock and USB power connection another thing that I like about this design is the fact that the XLR input is now on the back it makes the front look very clean and they probably had to do it anyway to make space for this new headphone volume knob let me know in the comments below what you guys think of this new design I'm just personally hoping it sounds even better than the focusrite Scarlet solo 3rd gen we know that the air feature gives you even better preamp sound but can it compete with the likes of the audience id4 chlorine let the vibe slide over me the speed is a chemical the speed is a chemical when I leave don't save my C I'll be back when it's all complete the moment is medicated gone the moment is medical I'm sipping on Street chlorine when I leave don't save my seat I'll be back when it's all complete when I leave don't save my seat I'll be back when it's all complete now to me the id4 is still a winner in terms of sound but the Scarlet is not far off at all and keep in mind there is a 60 difference between these two I think for most Scarlet solo users focusrite have made the changes that we need and for now I think the fourth generation will still be on top
