Toyota Tacoma in the SR5 trim and this is the new Toyota Tacoma look this is the SR5 trim and we're comparing it to the same exact truck but in the TRD sport trim which is a higher trim and we're going to be talking about differences similarities in this exact video with regards to exteriors interiors and specs on these cars but before we do because it's not a sponsored video we truly need and appreciate you guys support here at Vagabond builds please tap that like button and subscribe to our Channel because you guys are truly the reason why you guys or you guys put bread on our tables if you have something for us to film here's our email email us and we could talk details later a special shout out and a thanks to fulam Lake Toyota here in fulam California for providing us these beautiful Toyota Tacomas for this comparison video keep watching and stay tuned because we're also going to be dropping the MSRP stickers so you guys get an exact idea of price entry point for SR5 and price entry point to TRD sport now let's go ahead and talk 2024 Toyota Tacoma so let's kick this comparison video off with talking some specs now SR5 to my left TRD sport to my right the reason for one hood popped open is because it has the same exact powertrain in a 2.4 4cylinder Turbo turb charg engine paired together with the 8-speed automatic transmission pushing 278 horsepower with 317 lb fet of torque now the MPG on this exact truck is about 19 City 23 Highway and a 21 combined that is on the TRD sport but if we come over to the SR5 yes because maybe the lighter tires and things of that sort you're getting an extra mile to the highway at 24 now check out the engine on that 4cylinder we do know that the old ones were a V6 3.5 L but here's some more specs on these exact trucks for towing capacity you get about 6,500 lb when properly equipped you also have an option of hybrid that is something that is very cool and also a six-speed manual transmission option 11-in ground clearance on both length on these trucks will differ because one has a 6-ft bed and one has a 5ft bed but the height and the width starting with width 70 in and 75 in in height everybody seats up to five and curb weight for both up to 4700 lb now let's go ahead and drop this let that shut and let's talk SR5 trim to my left TRD sport trim to my right let's first start with the lower trim so this trim is coming in at around $45,000 and what do we see that we get extra from SR5 to TRD sport for an extra $88,000 now starting with the top on the SR5 you don't have that hood scoop with the pop out indentations the front grill is different no 360 camera okay moving over to the TRD sport the TRD sport scoop the indentation popouts dropping down to that front grill is complete different a little bit more classy uh look on the front grill and that 360 panoramic camera but overall the similarities with regards to the lighting system the bumper sensors the bezels completely the same active air vents on the side starting with the side now on this SR5 no fender flares okay this is just a one piece Fender here on the TRD sport you have the bulky fender flares okay and you could tell that because you have that space in between the fender and the fender flare another difference tires this is a 18 18 in sorry 17 in 18 in they're running the Toyo Tires and that is the Open Country and the size on that is a 2457017 and then the size on this one is a grab it's a General Grabber HTS and the size on this exact tire is a 2656518 so bigger rim on this because of the TRD Rim remember between different trims you will see different tires and rims keep that in mind suspension system both the same with standard suspension the shock spring suspension side mirror some differences starting with the SR5 a little bit more plain no integrated blinker lighting and no camera for that 360 panoramic to where you have the integrated blinker lighting and the camera place right there at the corner of that headlight okay both come with the blind spot assist now on the Tacomas the dual color handles they're similar one thing that's different from the TRD sport over to the SR5 the Chrome lettering compared to that blacked out lettering coming over to the rear end pretty much the same the beds is where you're going to see the difference prior to the bed the SR5 emblem but no emblem here where you get that emblem is this TRD Sports sticker here okay now the beds themselves remember I mentioned to you that one's a 6ft bed and one's a 5-ft bed hopefully you can see the difference in length in the video itself okay but on the TRD sport you have the bed flares or the wheel flares here in the back okay but on the SR5 no flares all right wanted to point that out to you guys because that's a pretty big deal for some people the beds themselves there's some things that I wanted to mention because this has the technology tow package on the TRD sport I want to mention that to you guys you guys get these little buttons here on the tail lights and it's an electric open and close tailgate here it's a soft open tailgate with no button here on the side 5ft bed we have the tracks on the side that's similar but no cubby room here on the right also no inverter and on the left you don't get the 2 USBC plugin inside the cubby with the 12vt outlet okay let's go ahead and show you guys also something that's different near this glass area you don't have the two cameras that you do get on the TRD sport with the premium package okay let's go ahead and lift this shoot over to the TRD support and what do I mean starting with the right you get the cubby room just like that as mentioned you have this AC 120 volt inverter and then over here on the left the two USBC plugins with that 12vt outlet here and a fuse just in case that burns out okay now it is a 6ft bed a little bit bigger here in the bed but look at the camera ceras the bed camera and also that live rear view mirror camera okay that's super cool still got the tracks going on now another super cool thing is the technology tow package you get that lift up top now that we're pretty much done talking about specs and exterior differences and similarities on these two trucks let's go ahead and show you guys Interiors all right everybody now sitting in the 2024 SR5 new look completely on the interior but I'm going to show you guys the main differences from s SR5 to TRD Sport interior starting with the door panel same exact door panel SR5 to TRD sport the only difference that you're going to get is on this little inlay here you're going to have TRD because it's TRD sport of course next difference is this control unit panel here with all these buttons on the TRD sport because it has the premium package add-on you're going to have the pre-wired three Ox buttons here and then up top to the right you're going to have two extra buttons and that is because the technology um tow package and it's going to be a inverter button for that inverter in the bed that I showed you guys in the 6ft bed and then also the tailgate lift button okay moving forward to the cluster complete different clusters for that driver cockpit screens okay digital in the center and then on the right and the left you kind of have these uh bars or uh rectangular bars for the heating and the fuel all right steering wheel is completely same along with your controls for your windshields and lighting system moving forward to the TRD engine start stop button this one's red in the TRD sport this is just kind of regular matte gray the infotainment screen completely different and the SR5 you have a lower kind of tech feel inside still a pretty nice screen but of course the TRD sport you're getting more for your money with that premium package dropping down single climate control here the hard buttons there's only five here compared to seven in the TRD sport that's because you have extra buttons to control your vent flow here in the TRD sport to where here this is the vent flow knob the TRD sport has a dual climate control where both knobs are to control climates okay that is different now moving up the live feed camera for that rear view mirror as mentioned this is just a manual all right and then the Tilt slide sunroof option as well well that you don't get in the SR5 that you do in the TRD sport because of the premium package dropping back down to the center console area one thing that I forgot to mention with regards to the temperature they H there's a sorry regard to the media because of that big 14in infotainment screen in the TRD sport you're going to have a third knob here in the middle all right shift knob TRD shift knob that's going to have a TRD emblem right here near that button also this knob here itself for the four-wheel Drive is a whole lot bull here knob for that uh four-wheel drive two extra buttons here and that's for the technology toe package button and also the 360 panoramic camera button I'm going to show you guys that later on in this video and then talk about seats here you got the cloth the TRD sport has the soft Tex these are manual seats not heated or ventilated to where the uh TRD sport comes with the soft Tex material electric control 8way Power adjusted along with the lumbar support heated ventilated seating okay now that we're pretty much done with the differences here in the front let's go ahead and shoot over to the second row seating and then jump into the TRD sport all right everybody second row seating in the SR5 and the two main differences back here as mentioned in the front the softex material compared to the cloth and then you also do not get the two USBC plugins that you do get in the TRD sport but the similarities you have one pocket on the back of the passenger seat the cup holder placement the bench itself comes 60% on the driver's side like that and a 40% on the passenger you have the JBL sound system as mentioned in the front that's the subwoofer and if we were going go ahead and pop open or pop up these seats or the benches you have a lot of space for tools personal belongings and things of that sort okay now I mentioned I forgot to mention one more thing is that the mats you get specialized TRD sport mats inside the TRD sport to where on the SR5 you have the r rubber Tacoma mats okay now we're pretty much done with the SR5 let's go ahead and start with the TRD sport all right everybody now we're in the higher trim the TRD sport but it's not the highest Trim in the Tacoma lineup but let's go ahead and show you guys what we were talking about from SR5 to TRD sport starting with the door panel okay TRD remember I mentioned the SR5 didn't have that but exactly the same door panel all right now on the left hand side of the manual steering column you got five extra buttons and what are those the three pre-wired ax buttons If you want to add like a LED bar or whatnot or spotlights the tailgate button for up and down and your inverter AC 120 volt button moving forward completely different driver cockpit cluster display screen in which I'm a fan of the TRD sport look whole lot more because you feel like you're getting more money I mean more product for your money right yes it's an $8,000 uh price tag but I'm a bell and whistle kind of guy want to make the driver experience a whole lot better you could also change your info cards on those uh clusters and all that good stuff moving forward the TRD engine start stop button pretty cool little bell and whistle there 14in infotainment screen and this is one of my favorite parts of these Tacomas and one thing that's super cool is if I go ahead and shift into drive I have the 360 camera system that integrates we could change angles and this literally is uh letting me know what's going on as I'm driving super cool just phenomenal for this uh premium loaded packaged um Tacoma dropping down dual climate control let's go ahead and turn on the vent and show you guys what it looks like two temperatures with the knobs and then you have the extra volume knob right here in the middle as mentioned heated and ventilated seats there and then you got the off hard button along with that vent button that adds from five to seven hard buttons okay so that's two extra buttons heated steering wheel button there okay and then drop in over to the TRD shift knob literally literally the same shift lever but you just have the little TRD matte black wrap okay that knob itself here is a little bit bulkier as mentioned cuz you have the tow hul Drive modes you got three Drive modes also that little trailer button there for the technology tow package and and your button for that 360 let's go ahead and press that so you guys get an idea so much more for that $88,000 on top of that price tag this truck is coming in at around 53,000 bucks okay now the seats themselves heated and ventilated as mentioned with the soft text they both come electric power the SR5 had the manual okay and then these come wa eight-way power adjustable with lumbar support as mentioned the Tacoma TRD sport uh kind of embroidered in the mat that's something that's TRD sport exclusive and then up top tilt and slide sunroof option because of that premium package TRD sport very cool with a manual visor in front of that live feed camera check that out super cool and you could also go back into manual if you don't like the live feed that's another option now we're pretty much done with what we are talking about here in the front let's hurry on over to the second row seating show you guys that in short in this video out so you guys continue watching second row seating in the TRD Sport and what's different remember the two the B back bench looks a whole lot better in the softex material and then the two USBC plugins and an inverter to where the SR5 just had that 12vt outlet there on the right okay that is what's different but as mentioned what is the similarities you still have the 60 Center on the driver side the 40% on the passenger side you can drop these forward wanted to mention where your o snap handles are on the B pillar helping you in and out of the car a whole lot better than having them up here okay super cool we appreciate you guys for watching our channel here at vagabon builds with Sandu and James as promised now here's the MSRP sticker first to the SR5 so you guys get an exact idea of what comes on the car price tag on top as well and then here's the MSRP sticker to the TRD sport so you guys get an exact idea of what comes
