hey how's it going everybody welcome back to the channel and welcome back to Eagle Rising the brand new update that is currently only available to patreons but we will be releasing very very soon so make sure to keep an eye either on the Discord or over on the Nexus page but this brand new update to Eagle Rising adds in a brand new faction the Germanic tribes of the north and this update is actually pretty large and a pretty momentous moment with the mob because not only do we get the brand new faction this now replaces every single faction in the game which is pretty big because this means that they can remove pretty much all of the vanilla Batton Lord assets they've replaced all the bandits in this update as well so there is now nothing besides the map itself that is really left over from bannerlord and as I mentioned that is pretty big because now that allows them to really start to delve into actually crafting their own map of Cal Radia deciding where certain factions go how they can split up factions to balance them make them more interesting and unique and then look to start adding in stuff like the Greeks and the Persians which are all planned and are going to be coming in future updates and a lot of the work for them factions have already begun the Greeks already have tons of assets so I don't think it'll be as long as getting the Germanic factions in and removing all the vanilla Banner Lord assets as long as it's going to be to actually get a new Greek faction in another thing in this update that they've also decided to implement is they've gone ahead and made it compatible and basically require realistic battle mod Eagle Rising with RBM basically allows them to really start to fine-tune how the battles work how the equipment work and as I said now that they've removed the majority of all the vanilla assets they can really fine-tune it to work with eagle rising and that should have a pretty big effect on just how battles do generically run you know the AI is completely different in RBM the equipment the damage that allows them to basically go in and really just tweak it to their heart's content but with this update we do have as I said the Germanic tribes and this is probably the last update you'll see everybody kind of in their vanilla statue I imagine in the next big update of this m they will look to start dividing up the tribes making them very divided and and not as powerful as these big Big Blocks I think they plan on for Rome to have them as just two kind of factions in a civil war rather than free and then kind of implementing the Greeks over here to the right with some city states as well individual factions like Sparta and Athens only having one cement but being very powerful which would be pretty cool but yeah as of right now the Germanic tribes go ahead and take up where sturgia were on the map and right now they're in a pretty good position to push down and kind of take advantage of all the wars that are currently going on as we can see all of their Lords have had their uniforms changed so all the all the characters are in their own unique setup I believe they've also changed all the names for the factions as well so again just being a lot more like lwr through and again immersing you in that well which is really really exciting as you can see as well all the vanilla pretty much the majority of the vanilla outfit stuff that just does not fit in the game has now been removed providing us with a bunch of more unique stuff to go ahead and basically equip ourselves with there is still some equipment that you know is from the base game but again if it doesn't fit it's kind of been removed from the era which I think is a really really nice touch and I'm sure we're going to continue just to kind of replace assets as they go unit wise the Germanic tribes actually kind of prove themselves a pretty deadly force they don't exactly have the largest of rosters compared to some factions like Rome but I think again the dev team are trying to kind of thin down the rosters a bit more to make them a bit more unique and interesting however what they lack in kind of I guess size of the unit rosters they make up with with all the different designs just look at this so this is the default tier one infantryman for the Germanic tribes there are 13 different presets different Shields colors weapons armors etc etc they've got different and when you go down to save a tier two again all of a sudden all these different presets tier three 13 presets again you know half of them are maybe just different color changes but other ones do have different weapons and Shields and stuff again six different uh weapon and stuff for the long bowman and this is all unique to this faction as well same with the Cavalry and they've done such a good job like this light armor looks incredible you can see that they've improved their their asset creation as well I mean again gtic is already an amazing model with all the Roman stuff but yeah this cloth just looks really really incredible they've done a very good job on it and I know it's weird going ahead and being uh so excited for like the cloth but it does look really good they've done a great job with texturing or whatever that is that is super impressive and again fits for faction immerses you in these guys take a look at their Noble troop line as well they're going to be basically made up of these heavy Spearman and Swordsmen yeah they have obviously what swords and obviously uh hirs and a bit of a throwing equipment so again a lot of these units are going to be heavily infantry based and I think this is one of the smarter things from reducing the rosters I think a bunch of the other factions have all had their rosters reduced as I mentioned earlier but it plays more into the strength of the faction right now the Germanic tribes only have access to to what if we go over here to a unit of light Cavalry right yeah this is their only Cavalry in the game right here and you know you go up against some of the heavier Cavalry focused factions like Baki which are all the way over into the East which are basically the smti uh with their Elite Cavalry like this is not going to do well however where they succeed and where they're going to be doing great is on this infantry uh playing field like this this unit is going to cut down I imagine majority of the enemies that they come up against their Elite German Barbarian Warriors it would be kind of cool to maybe get another route of like having Berserkers or some like big two-handed weapons to really push forward that Narrative of these guys being just you know just monsters at Mel but that's definitely should something they should definitely look to do just more stuff like that whittling Down The rosters and just specifying this faction's really good at this they have maybe some of that but yeah really good you know for example they did that exactly the same with the carthaginians down here in the South where the azerai are a lot of their units they have basically tons of these small unitri because again Carthage is a very wide Empire and they draw all these soldiers from around the empire into their army they kind of have the the hoplight and more of the Greek style soldiers they then have kind of some of the the veterans from the Punic Wars they have some decent Cavalry and some Slingers and they even get access to if you go to the mercenaries a lot of these Messi train soldiers are basically like the numidians and the Spanish soldiers that's where these guys come from so they kind of have that pool and that's kind of their their their draw to them Carthage is they get access to a whole whole v um a high they get access to a large uh kind of unit roster from all these different settlements and tribes and stuff and hopefully again they go go ahead and continue to like like maybe specify certain settlements to recruit certain units to kind of get that idea of his vast Empire so you have to go to all these different uh places to to see exactly what they can bring to B whereas if you go to the Romans again I think they've really cut down the Roman roster in this update as well yeah you have the auxiliary soldiers and you can see again it's just kind of threee lines whereas before I think it was much larger and then of Roman soldiers as well and you get these through uh the uh The Bodyguard system and the other unique abilities you can see right here so the specialized recruitment again that's where you're going to be getting a lot of your Romans from yeah I've switched over to the Roman view of it and you can see where you can recruit a lot of through your op eyes and again this is all going to depend on you know the type of soldiers that you have access to as well as your rank in the Roman factions you know the more the higher renowned you get and the bigger bigger kind of I I guess clan ranking is going to give you more access to more of these soldiers and I think some of the higher tiers will follow you around cities to prevent negative events from happening and other interesting stuff so you can really bring to bear some very very good soldiers again you can see there is the Roman troop line as well I think these are going to be the noble troops along with the other soldiers that you can bring so overall this has been a a really big update and it's going to kind of really just kind of cement the mod in a very very decent place for them to hopefully build upon as we go further and further forward with the Greeks that's like an update I think a lot of people are really looking forward to one of the factions again I think that just look beautiful and one if you haven't seen this more than a while are the are the the horse tribes to the east as well they have some such beautiful units soaka uh provide themselves with just like really cool armors and unique weapons and again their Cavalry just looks great and makes them a very potent Force to fight and one of the great things is that you know all the Lords are unique in their names and also in their armors and stuff so again you don't kind of get kicked out of that whatsoever developers have also I think updated the submod as well with the latest version of the Europe map mod as well so if you want to play this on the Europe map mod you can also do that on L's Europe map mod with one . 2.8 again you can either do that when it's released or you can go ahead and support them on patreon for I think as little as like $3 and you'll get access to this so it's a great way and they definitely deserve it for the amount of time and effort that they put into this I think as well that they also have a working Ser as a soldier with this model as well cuz again they have all different Recruitment and stuff so they have a script for that that you can go ahead and utilize with Ser as a soldier which again if that's something you really want to do uh you can do so I love thean units they look so nice don't they they really really do I want I mentioned as well I think I did at the beginning of the video but yeah again now all the looters have also had their stats changed and their units changed so thec Raiders are going to be dramatic I imagine they will go ahead and get a name change at some point but yeah all the faction Bandits have also all been changed up and stuff like that so again you're not going to be fighting the vanilla uh the vanilla Raiders whatsoever so let's jump into a quick battle and I can show off what some other units actually look like so I've got my of just a small band of soldiers right here we can see in a nice little Shield wall as well which is where I think these soldiers are going to really really Excel you can see that they do actually have some pretty small Shields they cover majority of the body so they'll be able to repel a lot of the incoming missile fire especially a lot of the Roman slings as well they also have a lot of javelins I think I have eight to start off with I think each of these soldiers also have a hand full of them as well so they'll be able to throw multiple and they even have a smallest spear to fight of Cavalry so they're going to be a very very deadly infantry force and able to put down a lot of pressure with their throwing accuracy and other units again the actual models look great you can see these are going to be the tier threes right there much larger uh than their Roman opponents you can see the shields do do basically what they need to do and a lot of the other damage coming in you also get a nice little Glimpse here as well if we go into Shield W for custom swords that we uh have access to and of course RBM the AI is dramatically better on RBM the shields walls you can see a very back and forth there's no just like straight up killing they're trying to get around my formation and even the is a lot stronger as well even have a posture system as well which is a system you don't really have to use if you don't want to but you can do so um to go ahead and just make combat a little bit more interesting you can see right here again all strike me I'll Counter Strike him and I can just basically keep on hitting him but you can also see with how RBM works as well there are weak points if you hit someone with like if I'm like really close to him and I hit him with like this part of my sword it won't do as much damage as uh oh God he he's putting Shield away yeah whereas if I hit him in the head which is very lightly armored it's going to do way more damage whereas if I hit him in the in a different body part which maybe yeah you can see right there I hit him with my handle and we didn't really penetrate his armor so that's basically RBM uh at play and I imagine it will make the Romans very very strong and there'll have to be some good balancing there you'll be having to look for like position attacks on the Romans like looking for their armpits and other places where they maybe don't have as much uh as much heavy armor but I think RBM is just a great addition to this mod because it makes you like gives you the ability to basically be able to fight with like very small armies and make them very elite and they can kind of just tear the opponent's support you can see right there slashing it wasn't really getting through his armor but stabbing on the other hand yeah that penetrates this cloth or whatever it is pretty nicely you can see right there I'm hitting with shoulder so yeah a really cool system where it kind of like specifies each body part very nicely and yeah that's going to be the new faction that's going to be the ganians as I said you can this right now over on
