hey guys in today's video we are moving sheep into a new grassy area for the first time and then also we are working in our high tunnel this week because we have food to harvest and we have a bunch of tomatoes so now we've had our two sheep in this spot a little over a week you know I was hoping that we would have four sheeps in this spot but you know things happen they get the new Young grasses first and I think eventually they're going to eat this they've helped uh knock down this fence line which that's what I intend on using them for we have a bunch of this Virginia creeper in this area and it does not look like they're even eating it at [Music] all ever since we've got them I've tried to get in there with them and hang out with them give them Alfalfa give them kale from the garden they do eat that [Music] and to try to get them used to me so they're not so skittish and want to run away from me but it's hard I feel like they are still kind of pretty skittish of me these two have been doing really good in The netting I mean no issues it's all right right and today we're going to move them for the first time they need to get used to us moving them because that's what we're going to do you know being that there's only two though you know we're not going to move them as much as I was hoping and we just got to be patient with them because they're not cows cows eat a ton these guys they eat but it's not a whole lot like that they have been using this shelter which at first they didn't want to use it and then they they warmed up to it and started using this I've already set up their netting where we're going to move them to I noticed there's a there's some milked which from what I've read that uh it can be poisonous to pretty much all the animals pigs never got sick I think they have to consume a lot of it to get sick so hopefully they don't do that now I'm basically just going to open the door for them and they're just going to walk right in right is it that is it that easy hey sheep hey sheep [Music] [Music] I find myself trying not to make sudden movements around them uh but they went in pretty easy it's so peaceful looking at sheep eat and just just looking at them doing nothing it's very peaceful we're going to run a a single wire from the perimeter fence out here to to energize this I really like hooking into the perimeter fence cuz I feel like it's just more reliable um it's definitely more stronger we're trying to use an old reel and then um we're just going to cut it to length then jumper cables all right and then you have this nice handle you just hook on like that all right well if they if these guys can live they're going to be fat and happy sheep uh because they're going to have this whole place to themselves if we don't get more animals and as long as they don't get you know some kind of parasite and get tangled in netting and everything's going to be fine and and happy that is but what's going on in here so I've got some Chinese cabbage that is ready I think it's ready it might not be exactly ready like I think it technically has like one more month or maybe to the end of this month to go but they did so well and they look ready and I need to make space for the rest of them I planted them very close together so I've been eyeballing this one this is my prized cabbage so I think I'm just going to harvest this one or just a few just to kind of let the rest of them have some more space in airf flow wow this this is a lot of cabbage uh it almost looks fake I know it it doesn't seem like a lot of cabbage when you're starting them out in seedlings and then you plant them and they have so much space in between them and then when they get this big you're like oh I think I overplanted you could probably just take it out there we go so what are you plan on doing with all this cabbage I'm going to make sauerkraut for sure then I have some other dishes that I like to make oh gosh this thing's so heavy I wish we could weigh it wow look at this cabbage that looks awesome it's heavy feel it feel how heavy this is baby cabbage your baby Cabbage Patch baby all right it weighs just as much as a Cooney so all of these bottom leaves I'm going to pick off and give to the coonies they'll love it but before I do that I want to take a picture here piggy piggy piggy it's cabbage you like cabbage cabbage cabbage [Applause] party okay so I'm going to pick this one just to kind of give the rest of them more space to kind of I don't know maybe they like being tight one more cabbage let's do it there we go woo look at that all right and today we are staking up or propping up tomatoes because the tomatoes are growing really good I mean they're starting to be a bush I already pruned them and it's time for me to prune them again so we finally got these quipper clips in the mail we were waiting for those and so now we're just staking them up we're just recycling some of this old twine with the purchase of our Homestead I inherited a 55g barrel of hay twine from hay hay bales these are the clips from Farmer's friend we'll we'll put a link down these in the show notes uh but they have like this little sponge on them and then it grabs onto the string and it hugs the stems some of the strings are too short so we're just adding to it cuz I have so much of this stuff now because we went this way with the row instead of the typical just long ways um it's a little bit I don't know a little bit challenging I guess because These Bars aren't directly over the rows I guess if we would have planned it better we could have made sure that when we healed up these rows they were all directly underneath These Bars so that way we can string up the plants if needed but it's not a huge deal uh it's just some of the rows you know it's just a little bit slanted it's not directly above it but I don't think the plants will m yeah see this one's directly above it this one's good as they grow taller um we'll probably need to adjust these clips and then just clip continue clipping up this string and then that's what's going to hold the plant up so that way they're not on the floor I still have more pruning to do um to kind of get these leaves up off the the soil but at least now they are standing up and the whole plant is not playing down so we're just going to continue clipping up the line here we have a bunch of peppers growing hot peppers right here which will probably end up stringing up also at some point not right now they're still pretty pretty young and then we have another row of tomatoes that are not quite developed yet what look at these cabbage leaves huge they're all propped up all the strings uh now we're pruning the tomatoes we're just going to take off the the leaves that are touching the soil this one needs to be pruned a lot a lot going on here yeah that looks better much better I'm going to get some air flow in here all right that looks much better yeah looks so clean yeah this is the most food we've grown guys uh on this well on this property actually well actually it's been a while cuz you know I think we took a year off while we were looking for a property this property um of growing food really and then last year hardly grew anything this year Boom Like It everything's been really beneficial I don't know if it's the soil we brought in or or just over the last couple years just building the soil using the animals for that uh just constantly working it and man so and we have some leftover Clips so that's good because I have a whole another row of Roma tomatoes that are not tall enough I think that will be next week's project and now we're back in the kitchen how many of these have we harvested the Cabbage I think we did four right we did four this is one of our smallest ones we did some sauerkraut we did actually we did sauerkraut and then we did kimchi and then I still have some in the fridge that's taking up a lot of space because they are huge and then this is one of the smaller ones and we're going to try to do some stuffed cabbage leaves with this kind of cabbage this a Nappa cabbage so I've never done it with this kind so we'll see if we can do it are we out of ground beef we are or we're out of beef completely no we're not out of ground beef complet we're not out of beef completely we're out of ground oh right so we still have beef from our cows just a little bit left yeah just a little bit of steers so I'm I need more more steers here more beef cows this is rice it's going to go for the filling for the Cabbage so beef is going to be rolled up in the Cabbage leaves okay so I need some time for this recipe so I had to run out to my raised beds really quick just to grab some just a few sprigs of time I mean just a little bit okay so I just blanched these cabbage leaves so that way they're very soft and flexible here so that way I can roll they're going to be very tiny because this is like a Napa cabbage and it's it already is really tiny but normally if you had like a round cabbage leaf you could um kind of roll it like a little burrito so if you had like a round one you could fold the sides in but I don't have a round one so it's just going to have to be like this hopefully everything will stay inside and I'm just going to put it to a plate and then once we fill up our plate I'll put it in the pot still rolling out some more and I'm going to put these over in the pot you can see here I've got a pot of some of this tomato sauce it has onions and red wine vinegar and some some of our garlic Scapes so now I just covered it with tomato sauce some of this tomato sauce and then it's going to go into the alen all right this is done hour later yes it is very hot we had cheese to that oh boy I have some potatoes because potatoes go well with cabbage and beef so we have some potato fries and then what's great is you can dip the potatoes into this tomato sauce she hey sheep hey [Applause] sheep so I've been giving them treats at night well trying to give them treats so that that way could they could warm up to me no sudden movements hey [Applause] sheep I'm just going to sit right here usually do it at the end of the day they don't want anything to do with me not like the pigs the pigs love me I almost think they're maybe afraid of the camera oh don't eat my fingers there we go there we go let me pet you that that's a big moment right there guys that is a big moment sheep are very curious I've noticed I think he's looking at you guys you guys got to get used to the
