no introduction at all he's won five times on the PGA tour he's got 76 top 10 finishes the man knows victories he knows success welcome the one and only Ricky Fowler absolutely unreal to have you on the channel thank you for joining us happy to be the sixth man today this is fantastic if you guys want to know what the setup is going to be obviously it's going to be myself Bubby and Ricky on a team versus Garrett Stephen and Quan of legendary 3v3 nine hole matchup out here at the Medalist I'm really really excited to be getting into this you know I've watched Ricky for a long long time I remember the crazy colors I remember I wore I'll have to show you the picture but I wore the orange pants the orange shirt the orange hat I wore it to school it wasn't an event a holiday nothing I want to dress up as Ricky go to school and see what these people are thinking uh it's been really really amazing watching you on the screen and now standing next to you getting ready to play golf with you is absolutely unreal it's a dream come true for me and I'm excited to win and take these yeah let's go have some fun out of the first perfect holy crap my butt was sweating after that one [Music] let's have Ricky do the honors first hole apparently it is 275 yards to the Fairway this is a daunting tee shot Ricky do you want to flip T to see what team goes first sounds good it's beautiful that's what I wanted yep all right brother he said it's 175 to clear all that 275 275. yeah 175 to the next two bucks we just figured you know we're here we might as well see all of it yeah I agree you got it man it's they're so strong brother okay a little Snappy off oh wow that's flat hey we'll find that we're gonna reach the fan we gotta see it all three men Scrambler here 275 carry into the win I ain't thinking about it just a normal Fairway let's hit this golf ball that's it hang a little all right over longer I swear yeah all right Ricky that's a big carry we got two balls in the your record out here uh of course I think 62. from the tips 62 from the normal back I'm actually not sure what the all the way back maybe 62 or 64. wow all right Steve get that 62. yeah foreign just a normal drive normal drive just imagine you're on the drive girl and the water's not in place yeah it's not even close you're fine they just happen to put stuff before where you're gonna land normally like if there was Fairway all the way you wouldn't be working that's true it's just visually intimidating see how that brain how your brain does that oh yeah laughs yeah good Ball g yes Derek a little nerve-wracking I did not hit that great I think I saw the like sand and then it might even Scoot a bit from there yeah at least from this tee shot it's definitely mentally intimidating out here just swing as hard as you can now just rip it wow yes kind of boy yeah not surprising the two Pros got something down there oh it's down the middle good shot doesn't do anything but I'm gonna need that all day for me okay honestly I feel like we're a little bit a little bit of the bad guys I feel like we're the villains in this we kind of are we're gonna try to rain on their parade here yeah that's kind of sad to say but it's true [Music] no it's it's definitely a tee shot you just you have to step up and hit a good one it doesn't matter it is it's mad cool I wanted to say this to you too we'll get out of the way at the beginning but like honestly like on behalf of me I'm sure a lot of the people watching is just like a thank you brother like yeah dude whether you realize it or not like the amount of like young men and women just overall you inspired to get into the sport it's honestly like you do you realize like a little bit like it never gets old here in the stories like yeah really from anyone saying like they either Follow Me growing up or got them into the game whatever it is like it's awesome like Matt said I played junior golf growing up and when you show up to tournaments it's either the kids head on Ricky orange yeah but they had on tiger red yep everyone it's so cool bro yeah between those and like some maybe like Rory or like under armor with Jordan and no we all love seeing that it's it doesn't like I said it doesn't get old yes sir I love it well let's make a birdie here this would be quite a birdie to start off with let's do it we played par fives or we have a lot less than 210 and this is gonna be a mad difficult course Ricky said minus six out here for a three-man Scramble with golfers of mine and Matt's caliber would be a good score and I'm believing that now if they're seeing this 210 to the win I might hit five I will Dad I'm trying to pitch it where I said we had 210 I mean perfect would pitch like 205-ish yeah I got five iron I mean I'm just hoping to hit it somewhere towards the PIN think about that it's General facilities good strike I mean I hit that great who hit it well two balls gone in the first hole hey 30 seconds two balls gone I'm going with six iron y'all just trying to pull one up there let Ricky really attack it and go right at it foreign we'll figure it out as we go all right this should just be a comfortable because honestly this wind is rolling to the point where I don't know what's going on I gotta I got a seven iron I'm just gonna trust it because if anything happens the boys know need anything on I can't I can't play caddy as well what did you get back there hey fine okay no off the left I would say but if anything like you would probably rather be just short than yeah I like seven I like seven feet yeah it was fun all right seven it is about 10 high though I'm going eight I think I don't think I can really like stop it on these hard greens I like it what are you you hitting seven seven or eight but I like it we have more towards eight I didn't hit that very well I can't do it hold on I gotta do seven sorry indecisive all right going with the seven iron here I love you Garrett yeah I greens I feel like yeah we'll be able to get uh as long as we can keep getting rolls every hole we're going to be good I think I think we can take care of these guys I love it oh I like that I like that once we get when it gets down to the end you can notice people start getting quiet it gets competitive oh it's always one more question before we get that see you got to get tattoos I'm a tattoo guy yeah like favorite tattoo or one that carries the most meaning to you uh my first one probably um Barry McDonald was my golf coach growing up so that was his like actually like handwritten name really so he used to do some uh pencil and like charcoal drawings so I have a handful that he had done for me or that he also did and I got after he passed away but um so I had his name tattooed on my wrist so awesome yeah he's the one who taught me how to play and that was the first one I got awesome I love him yeah I'll make a play when you played you usually line it up with a thing or no uh nah gone back I've done both no line right now all right y'all I mean there's no really easy way to make this whole easy on yourself it's a very tough hole coming over a ridge left to right they're just off the green here I definitely think we're in the more makeable of the two positions and Ricky's gonna be giving us the Reeds they're beautiful they're pure though but they're quick they're quick let's make this I like you like up in here it's gonna go right for the most part and then just at the end as it dies it'll come back left I just pushed it Ricky I had it okay at it wow that got there Kerry okay so like ideally you'd be hitting it to where right on the edge of where you can just see the ball and you have about 10 yards right straight away at that round bunker still okay it's probably about about 300 to that one okay okay for reference perfect foreign 501 Par Four freeze breezes off the left a little so yeah you're hitting the fade just go straight up that bunker through all right let it drip thank you it's good there good that looks real good perfect shouldn't get to the bunk every day but all right rip away Pawn feels good to hit a couple a couple good tee shots I haven't been I've been swinging it too well so hopefully we can dial it in I think it's left of it yeah both of us are good there you know what's right on the edge foreign hot dry lamb but I think it raced into the Palmettos did have some speed on it too what is your ball speed Ricky I usually hang like mid 70s because like my normal tournaments like 75-77 had a boy man I was hoping you got through that one brother you were right at the trees what's funny is overused we were looking at you like you were able to the trees as well I noticed that he's just playing a full cut all right he knows his game I get that from baseball I get that I feel like when we step up with new golfers who obviously really good golfers hey look at me there's perplexed do it all right come on Ricky all right all right my partner's in place what you want from me this footage isn't gonna get used to see this no it's not I'll make sure of it now I'm gonna cuss right now so you don't use it [Music] so a big question that I want to ask is obviously you did Motocross back in your day like is that something that you still want to like do Motocross is that something you still do right now no I haven't ridden in a while I mean I'd love to there's really no better feeling than being in the air but yeah just a little too much risk involved too much risk involved like how long have you been doing Motocross before you got into golf is that something that you like you did Motocross and golf it was pretty much all same I mean I was on a you know high school as soon as I could basically stand up and walk and then that transition ended up you know riding dirt bikes started playing golf when I was two so I golf was always number one so I kind of did those hand in hand but golf was the priority and then yeah when I ended up breaking you know I broke my foot in like three or four spots yeah kind of said like uh we got to hang that up you like competed and uh I did stuff kind of for fun a lot of my buddies that I grew up riding and racing with like they competed a lot more um yeah I was more just a you know riding a few days a week yeah have fun with it and um but I was I was decent I'd say if like I compared it to golf terms like I was a I was a scratch Rider uh nice I could you know hold my own on the track but I was I was not hanging with with those guys still keep up with it Supercross season just started last weekend nice a lot of those guys actually have gotten into golf and play golf so it's cool because yeah I've got to become good friends with a lot of the guys I follow them they follow me stay in touch so it's cool to see The Crossover with a crazy sport like that and then just to like the bonus you wouldn't expect the Motocross and Golf to connect anyway whatsoever it's a it's a good getaway for them one there is I mean especially if you're out walking I mean there's there's some endurance involved but it's a good way for them to get out have a low stress day on their bodies go have fun Motocross is up there is one of the most physically demanding Sports oh my gosh if you're doing it I mean the dirt bikes ain't 10 pounds you know they're freaking heavy machines right around 200 yeah and they're massive too I mean what did you ride you wrote a 450 I assume uh I only got I got up to 125s before I stopped riding I stopped riding this like right when four strokes were coming out so 125s would be you know 250s now um but yeah that's insane it was fun we got 183 pins on this right side here looks kind of like in the frontish area wind feels like a down wind we've got the same number but slightly different wind are you going to eight iron are you thinking nothing all right we're going with eight iron all right I got an eight degree I feel a lot more comfortable than trying to hit like a high soft hybrid so what are you going with hybrid this this is something yeah I get hit it is what it is man that's sick sure oh wow OSU and I I was wearing my OSU shirt obviously Ricky went to OSU they were apparently roommates back in back in the day so that's kind of cool I used to have to wake him up for workout really he seems like the guy that would be late to everything yeah he wouldn't he wouldn't have been a workout if I didn't wake him up so he was my ride so I think we're out we're still out good luck guys all right well it's not the words you want to hear in golf you're still out they've played two shots and they're inside of us we've played three but we got to get inside them right now yeah well we need to make might be nine could be nine I don't know how to swing easy we figured that one out okay I'll just go kind of a lighter seven through oh where's my cut at all I think sorry cutting at the end all right for that like what are your thoughts kind of going and leading into that well I mean being in the situation where I was I mean I was so far back there was really one only one option and at that point it was more just trying to like hey let's birdie everything coming in like just basically get up there and you know have a chance at a good finish and obviously if you birdie all of them you might have a chance to you know post a good number and win but I don't even remember a shot from the front line um 12 I ended up making a really good part because I had a horrible lie and a fairway bunker um ended up you know knocking on the green and from there kind of got on a little bit of roll made some Huts um obviously hit some good shots it was insane to watch because then you you obviously you forced the playoff and then you play three playoff holes 16 17 18 and then you went back to 17. and then you freaking you stuck that shot it was like five six or something feet away yeah I had I mean it was a it was a good number the wind changed each time we were there regulation it was down off the right first time we went in the playoff it was straight down and then it was down off the left the last time we played it and that's why the ball ended up to the right of the hole but for the most part they all started in the same spot um like I said I had I had a really good number so I was just sticking with you know that number on gap wedge and well I just wanted to say it was it was insane to watch and I was like up against my TV I was like watching I was like there's no way and then you make it playoff you'll force it and it's 17 again and I'm just like so dialed and glued and it was I just wanted to let you know it was really really fun to watch I appreciate it yeah it's a fun one to look back on and it's a TBC sawgrasses I mean that hole is I I've never got to play it but it'll happen one day we'll make a hole in one out there it's gonna happen I made one in a practice round it was pretty cool I definitely would not would use the word snap I love it it's just like a gradual you know little break foot and a half two feet out man maybe foot and a half okay it's not moving up being less when they start to get like dry like this there's not much to really hold the ball so there's any little bit of wind will push it got you and obviously when you play like over the British Open get some heavy wind yeah you really got to play it you'll get a putt that would normally be like left Edge that you have to play like right Edge or outside right start a little high curl okay thank you let them grind it out that moved right I heard that I said it I said with a three-man scramble is basically good but they said you know they were like see keyword there basically oh my all right we're good hi I love you Garrett I love when I don't have to play it's nice yeah nice it feels good I mean I felt pretty good with that one after you know seeing a couple good rolls but we'll just got in the way it's got in the way I found it it is tough like constant that only person to scramble is not it's not my favorite thing to do you see he almost like you're the guinea pig yeah you almost are like not necessarily trying to make it just hit a good pot with good speed and let everyone see it do you have to take it over the trees or no no it gets so like over that little Pine on the left is about a 300 yard carry okay and then you're about 300 through at that little bunker you can see so if you happen to kind of hang one probably won't get to that perfect you would split the Pine Tree in that bunker perfect is that not good very good chance it might be hittable but you'll kind of see you don't want to get left of the pine tree there foreign wow that wind picked up it's a heavy Breeze out there today just give it a rip give it a rip come on [Laughter] right there my tea yeah you're good nice oh good ball hello perfect yes there is a pine tree that's on the green one they picked every refined tree but the right one [Music] we got a sooner and a cow poke in the same cart right now happen often I actually played with it sooner yesterday we played with play with Quaid Quaid yeah we're out here uh oh yeah he was in town Wade coming shout out yeah well we had a good time played with uh him and wolf and oh yeah Brandon Hagee [Music] it's a good little group there yeah I love wood yeah he's good people so yeah he was down for a few days yeah I don't know I like hitting I guess this isn't really that hard hitting of a question but obviously you've had a a pretty pretty consistent career uh throughout your whole career obviously you've had you know some Ops some Downs also but that's just how it is with everyone but throughout your whole career has been pretty consistent I don't maybe frustrated is not the right word but are you do you get a little frustrated with just how some people think you're struggling if you don't win on tour that year I I just feel like people don't understand just how hard it is to win especially every year out there no for sure it's tough I mean you would know you've you've played it right a high level and and yeah it is frustrating but it's also I think as a player it's more frustrating for yourself because you know what you're capable of yeah so yeah I've had you know some great years unfortunately the last few years haven't been very good at all by any means but you know you're never going to be at your best all the time yeah it's you have to kind of battle through the the tough parts and and grind it out so unfortunately it's been a little longer than you you like right but um I like where we're at and where we're going um you know more just getting getting some feedback from Butch and grinding on my own how's that feeling at the top of the Swing right now because I know that's been very different than what you've been used to for honestly most of your career I feel like yeah I would say playing through the fall because I played Four events it was it wasn't fully comfortable okay um I'm a lot more comfortable right now than I was then for sure but um really just I knew I was doing the right things I was in a good spot hitting shots where I was like okay it's coming out how I want to just have to keep trusting it right yeah trusting is the hard part so I would say it's still a work in progress right now but it's um it's gotten easier it just it just takes reps you know the more tournaments now that we start next week that'll help but um yeah it's looking pretty good process looking pretty good today thank you yeah hey we're gonna get it going yeah we are two good shots up here um we got 127. I'm gonna hit a little p wedge knock down it's into the wind I'm gonna try to get a solo eagle out of me I'm gonna try to dig it out you like a pitchy wedge for me too so you said he didn't hit that full so I'm gonna try and swing one smooth we need we need one close the odds of them making birdie at this point from there almost 100 so a little pitching much here off the right side spin one in there I shake it oh yeah it works it works you hear that uh 127. I hit it like an easy pitching wedge that's our problem is we're not giving ourselves Great Looks but that's all right right here right here right now that came it's pretty flat behind the hole anything that lands short with spin will come to the front of the green you feel any hurt up there or just at the right yeah you've got some hurt if you're hitting the full shot it's going to be 120 maybe low 120s perfect that's all I got Rick yeah we want to talk about like a little off speed or anything like that just just hit your full shots perfect do you mind Rick or Ricky does it does not I thought that was on it I thought that was in the hole we'll take that though I've been high I got 52. okay wow that thing started wow that is impressive look at that spin I don't know the RPM on
