hey guys blooming on George here and this is the Lost films iceberg by now you probably know what an iceberg is so let's get into it London after midnights easily the most well-known lost film this was directed by Todd Browning and features murder vampires and some super creepy makeup the only known version of the movie was destroyed in a fire at mgm's faults back in 1965. then plenty of homages have been made including one full-scale reconstruction but even though it's remained pretty influential the movie and its entirety is probably lost forever JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Phantom blood in 2007 the first ever on-screen adaptation of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure was made named JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Phantom blood it was released exclusively in Japanese theaters and was only screened in 2007. since then it's never been seen again and only some scenes and reconstructions remain was the pulled because the poor reception because of Licensing issues or for some other reason no one really knows the last judge melies movies a trip to the moon and the impossible Voyage Made In 1902 in 1904 are two of the most influential movies of all time they were both crafted by George melies a French filmmaker magician who was born back in 1861. known for including Illusions Optical tricks and dreamlike devices in his movies some people consider him the first real Pioneer of special effects during his career he made over 500 movies but more than half of them remain lost some were lost because of time and some were lost because of lack of Interest but some prints were burned destroyed and sold by melias himself who became jaded and angry when his movies became less popular Cry Baby Lane in the year 2000 horror comedy TV film crybaby Lane aired on Nickelodeon just a few days before Halloween featuring spooky scenes of possession a seance and some dead conjoined twins it was never aired outside the U.S and after that one Seoul 2000 screening it was thought to be lost forever foreign but in 2011 a Reddit user found a VHS recording of the original screening she shared the footage online and so to capitalize on all the fuss Nickelodeon re-aired the movie again in October of 2011 and they sent screened it again no one seems to know why the movie was discarded for so long according to various sources Nickelodeon have offered conflicting information sometimes claiming the movie was banned sometimes claiming it was lost and sometimes allegedly claiming the movie never existed at all whatever the case it's now on YouTube food fight the early version you've probably already heard of food fights a creepy and unsettling hellscape of a movie it's famous for being one of the worst animations of all time it had a budget of around 55 million dollars but nabbed a lily box office return of only 73 thousand dollars it was in development for a lengthy 10 years mainly because the original files were apparently deleted and destroyed by the movie's Creator one production was around 60 complete a trailer for the early version resurfaced a while ago along with some other short pieces of footage but we'll probably never see much more the day the clown cried imagine a movie about a depressed and selfish clown who gets in prison in a Nazi concentration camp for drunkenly impersonating Hitler who then makes friends with some also incarcerated Jewish people performs for those Jewish people and eventually gets gassed alongside them well that's what the day the clown cried was about because of various production issues the film was never released money ran outs producers fell outs and the movie quality was allegedly pretty terrible Harry Shearer the guy from The Simpsons saw a rough putt back in 1979 and summed it up by saying quote this movie is so drastically wrong it's Pathos and its comedy are so wildly misplaced that oh my God is all you can say [Music] Golem 1915. another early horror movie 1915's The Golem was the tale of a human-sized clay monster who patrolled Prague protecting Jewish people from anyone who tried to harass or attack them yeah it's weird the movie was lost shortly after its release though around three and a half minutes are now available online inspired by an ancient Jewish folk tale the movie was the first part of a trilogy the second part which was probably a parody of the first and which is also lost was released in 1917. the third part is the Golem how he came to the world and is available in its entirety game in the sand movie director Werner Herzog has a pretty high tolerance for what other more normal people might consider unacceptable one time he pulled out a gun on set and threatened to shoot his lead actor on another occasion he made Christian Bale eat live maggots [Music] during the risky filming of fitzgeraldo many people died in his movies Herzog has included lots of shocking and controversial contents but his 1964 short film came in the sand has never been released Esther zoc States the filming got quote out of control Herzog claims he'll never release it and that he's considered destroying the prince the movie is at least partially centered around four kids and a rooster which gets buried in the sand up to its neck but beyond that no one knows what's so shocking about the movie but if Herzog thinks it's too bad to release it's probably pretty horrible Batman fights Dracula nobody asked for a Filipino parody comedy movie featuring Batman in a fight with Dracula but in 1967 movie director Bert R Mendoza made one anyway in the movie a math scientist decides to resurrect Dracula in his latest attempts to finally win one of his many battles with Batman though a few production Stills have been released no video footage has ever emerged and apart from the plowing cast little else is known about the movie Quantum Quest a Cassini Space Odyssey this 2010 animated sci-fi movie features the voices of Chris Pine Samuel Jackson Sandra Oh William Shatner Neil Armstrong and some other big names after 2011 it was thought to be lost forever with only tiny pieces of footage remaining but in May 2022 the movie was eventually released on some video on demand services and it's now fully available on YouTube Gothic made not quite lost but intentionally mainly unavailable Gothic made is a 2012 Japanese anime it was the first ever anime made in 4k and with Dolby Atmos surround sound and director mamoru Nagano sorry if I mispronounced that thinks the movie can only be properly experienced when it's seen with both features for that reason it's never been made available on home Media or any streaming service and there's never been an international release [Music] today it occasionally screens and select Japanese movie theaters and that's the only way anyone can watch it Cleopatra 1917. back when it was released 1917's Cleopatra was one of the most impressive and ambitious on-screen projects ever seen it was over two hours long it employed around 2 000 people and it was massively popular with audiences but because of two fires one at Fox Studios in 1937 and the other at New York's Museum of Modern Arts in 1958 no copies remain now only 20 seconds of the original footage exists and it doesn't look like any more will ever resurface two Japanese King Kong movies the first ever King Kong movie was released in the US in March 1933 and it inspired endless remakes and tributes around six months after it was released a silent Japanese parody was made clocking in at 30 minutes it was centered around a downtrodden man who capitalizes on the success of the original movie by dressing up as the monster and playing him in theatrical performances only one still from this movie remains in 1938 another Japanese spin-off was released named King Kong appears in Edo it features as you might have guessed the big beast turning up in Japan again no video footage of this Wonder minions but some people have speculated that the King Kong in the movie might actually have just been a human-sized Yeti and that the movie studio team was using misleading promotional tactics to take advantage of the official 1938 King Kong reissue Empress Chung another animated movie this 2005 North and South Korea production is based on a folk tale and it's about a young girl who sacrifices herself to restore her father's sights though it was popular and award-winning in Korea it didn't get much International exposure or acclaim and shortly after was released it pretty much disappeared Now All That Remains is the trailer along with some screenshots and of sound test animation there are rumors that the movie was released on DVD in North Korea but no one seems to know whether or not those rumors are true [Music] penis 1965. this unimaginably titled obscurity had a cult following for years and Searchers unsurprisingly assumed it was some sort of tacky porno every hunt for this film was fruitless until just a couple of years ago already used to contacted the filmmaker's Cooperative the Distributors of the film they replied that the movie was available for a hundred bucks and added that no one had requested the film since back in 1999. as literally no one could have expected the movie actually isn't a porno it's more of a thoughtful our house flick though it does have boobs penises naked people and a whole load of homosexual subtext oh yeah and there's a dead dog and some butchered crows Spider-Man vs Craven the Hunter director and visual effects expert Bruce Cardoza worked on a load of famous superhero movies including Thor in The Avengers but in 1974 while he was studying at New York University he directed a Spider-Man fan film based on a Stan Lee comic The Unofficial movie was endorsed and authorized by the main man himself both before and after was made many reports claim it was pretty sophisticated and pioneering and the Marvel Comics team promoted the movie all throughout production but for reasons that are super unclear Cardozo didn't seem eager on a widespread release and only screened the movie at a few comic book conventions and right up until he died he refused to send any digital files maintaining he was only prepared to offer private screenings at his home now only a few production Stills remain the Oregon Trail 1936 by 1936 everybody's favorite cowboy John Wayne was already a pretty big name and he starred in dozens of movies in that same year he was the lead actor in the Oregon Trail a U.S Western Mr Price there which clocked in at just under an hour a pretty cliche tell of Love Redemption and revenge the movie somehow disappeared right after its theatrical release no one knows where the film is how it suddenly vanished or if it'll ever be discovered in 2013 40 production Stills were found but as of today that's All That Remains go Gola 1966. allegedly the only monster movie Bollywood ever made this little known Oddity was released 12 years after the very first Godzilla film and judging from the production Stills it seems like it was pretty similar to the OG it was blatantly ripping off the soundtrack remains along with a few production and promotional shots but little else is known and the movie's production company seemingly completed no other projects either before or after so it probably wasn't a commercial or financial success and we'll probably never get to see it Maya La Primera Gran Astoria this 2005 animated feature which translates into English as Maya the first great story was said to be all about Mayan culture it was going to be a falling flick and official trailers teasers and promotional pieces were released but when directors Ricardo a nice and Bruno Bashir fell out in 2005 the project was canned much later both Ricardo and Animax Productions the production company promoted a potential 2020 release on their social networks but nothing ever came out the project was never officially mentioned again and no concrete rumors have Arisen since then the fairy log and radio plays released all the way back in 1908 this was the original screen adaptation of L frank bombs The Wizard of Oz hugely Innovative it was the first ever movie with a score and featured a groundbreaking combo of live action colored flights and voiceover narration every screening featured two types of performance Beyond screen stuff and some accompanying off-screen on stage stuff the characters would switch between on-screen and off-screen performances to give the appearance of interactions between two different worlds the production was massively popular with plenty of sold out screenings and critical Acclaim but it was way too pricey to produce and even after doubling the ticket prices venues couldn't make a profits and so after two months it was canceled the production was again screened a few times in 1925. then it was never seen again a decomposed and unusable copy of the film was found on the bomb Estates but it's thought no other copy survived so all we have now are a few production stills despite its name this project wasn't broadcast on radio the exact reason for the radio name has never been quite cleared up but bomb once claimed that a French man named Michael radio helped to color the film but because no proof of this man has ever been found it's likely that bomb just made it up meso Blues 1993 back in 1993 Johnny Bravo Creator van partable came up with the kooky prototype this prototype was a quote over the hill aging rock star who thinks he's Elvis any featured in the animated short meso Blues missile Blues was part of portable senior thesis project one of portable's professors shared this short with Hannah Barbera Productions who asked portable to make a new short with some changes this reimagined project was the first version of Johnny Bravo the original shorts with the exception of a few seconds of footage has never been released band partable has a VHS version but he has no plans to release it publicly and only shows that the friends colleagues and students The Great Gatsby 1926. F Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby has been adapted a whole bunch of times but the very first adaptation is pretty much completely lost and All That Remains is a one minute trailer made in 1926 just one year after the book was published it was a sudden flick with a running time of 80 minutes though some have speculated a copy might exist somewhere that seems pretty unlikely F Scott Fitzgerald probably wishes he had never seen it apparently he hated this thing Citizen Kane colorized one of the most influential movies of all time 1941 Citizen Kane as you probably know was made in black and white but a 1989 colorized version was newly released back in 1983 CST entertainment was formed and their mission was to take black and white TV and movie productions and colorize them one of its clients was TV bigshaw Ted Turner who in 1986 has secured the rights for the home distribution of Citizen Kane in 1989 he announced his attention to release a colorized version but there was a hefty backlash from the wells Estates who knew Wells never wanted his movies to be altered in 1985 two weeks before he died Wells apparently told one of his filmmaking friends quote please do this for me don't let Ted Turner to face my movies with his crayons and so Ted Turner changed his plans although the entire final reel of the movie was allegedly colorized it was never officially released and only one minute of footage now remains monster Safari 2009 this never released movie featured a bunch of big names from the animation game it was due to be produced by American Animation Studio screen novelties and was being crafted in collaboration with the Jim Henson company originally conceived as part of a block of shorts monster Safari was then adapted into a folding project the plot featured a pair of idiotic cryptozoologist a bunch of freshly discovered monsters and a Game Hunter all that's currently available from the project is the original shorts and a small fragments of the feature-length version the movie entry still exists on the official screen Novelties websites but no one seems to know how much more was made and if any completed version will ever be released our guess is probably not a study in Scarlet 1914. back in 1887 Mega famous writer Arthur Conan Doyle released a study in Scarlets the detective novel featured the first ever appearances of Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson who I don't think I need to explain the novel inspired two yeah two separate movie adaptations which were both released in Matthew 14 and are now both lost the UK version which was released just one day before the US version is the most famous of the two it's more famous because it was endorsed by Conan Dole himself and it was massively well received James bragington who plays Sherlock Holmes in the movie wasn't a professional actor weirdly he was instead chosen just because he looked like some of the famous illustrations of the character all that survives of the British movie are two Stills and one promotional photo no photos or stales of the American version have ever been found the sunshine princess 1999. an obscure Italian animation the sunshine princess is the third part of a trilogy the first two parts are Alibaba released in 1996 and Alibaba and the Pirates released in 1997. in the first movie Ali marries Aaliyah the daughter of a sultan this third film is centered around Aaliyah who refuses to marry a wizard yeah people really seem to like the idea of marrying Aaliyah anyways for reasons I can't really work out this was a response to elia's refusal by transforming her into an ugly angry child she's then saved and restored back to her natural womanness by Ali and a donkey aside from some Stills posters and trailers nothing else remains one of these trailers features an English song implying an English dub was released the first two movies were released on VHS though the sunshine princess might have been it's never been found Noah's Ark 1928 an annotation of that famous boat-based Bible story you all know about this lengthy epic was originally 135 minutes long the longer cut has never been seen since premiere and it was instead shortened into a 100 minute version it was shortened for a bunch of different reasons but the main one was related to the movie's flood scene when that scene was shot the production team used zero safety precautions but they did use six hundred thousand gallons of water during the filming of this stupidly dangerous Scene Three extras died and loads more including young John Wayne were injured 35 ambulances had to attend the scene the original version of the flood scene which was featured in the 135 minute cut of the movie allegedly featured footage of some of the dead and injured actors cool the werewolf 1913. probably the first ever movie about werewolves this 1913 summer film was based on an 1898 short story the tooth detail is centered around a Native American girl named watuma who comes back to life a hundred years after her death she turns herself into a wolf then hunts down the man who killed her boyfriend apart from a poster and a newspaper clipping nothing of this one remains it was destroyed in the Universal Studios fire in 1924. Kaiser 1917. next up a short animated film famous for being the first cartoon movie ever made in Brazil only one frame from the movie exists and the work seemingly disappeared around 20 years after it was released a political piece it featured a depiction of Wilhelm II the final emperor of Germany according to reports from the time he placed a helmet over his head which apparently represented his desire for World control and was then swallowed by a globe Mothman 2000. call hero dug to Naples created a load of strange and unusual stuff he's most famous for thinking of slimy superhero Earthworm Jim but as other cookie Creations include TV show cast scratch and bizarre games the netherhood and skull monkeys in 1997 he started working on his only ever Live Action Project entitled Mothman it was based on some strange 1960s sightings in West Virginia yeah the same alleged sightings inspired the movie The Mothman Prophecies anyway the naval script featured the Mothman turning up in present day but when the budget was repeatedly cut the weird project kept changing and the production process underwent endless alterations eventually it was completely abandoned though to Naple has always been pretty vague on why whatever the case the creepy trailer is pretty interesting and it's worth checking out Batman Dracula weirdly another lost mashup featuring both Batman and Dracula this 1964 Andy Warhol project was created without the permission of DC Comics it starred controversial American performance artist Jack Smith who played both Batman and Dracula Warhol didn't release the movie on any major scale and only screened it at its art exhibitions it was pretty much just an artsy and edgy our house film as you'd expect from Warhol it wasn't standard superhero stuff and there wasn't really a plot and it was silence and black and white when Warhol died everyone thought the film was lost forever but although it'll probably never be fully found some sections of footage have been discovered other alleged segments exist online but they're so unformed and underproduced no one can really seem to decide whether or not they're real fire lights 1964. Steven Spielberg loves UFOs and apparently he always has because back in 1964 way before he was famous a 17 year old Steven Spielberg wrote produced and directed this 135 minute alien based Epic featuring abductions disappearances lights in the sky and ambitious plans for a human Zoo Spielberg reckons this early movie inspired his Close Encounters of the Third Kind which he released 13 years later in 1977. he also composed the score with the help of his clarinet and his mother and got a high school band to record it he made the entire movie on a budget of five hundred dollars and managed to recoup exactly 501 by screening it at his local theater less than four minutes of footage has been found the rest was lost when Spielberg gave the reels to a production company and after that company went bankrupt they never returned the reels and all these years later they'll probably never be discovered girl crazy 1997. known as the father of Mormon Cinema Richard Dutcher is most famous for his religious flicks centered around Heroes icons and missionaries he's no longer a follower and since you stopped being all more money he's made some non-religious movies but even before then he was making non-religious stuff and that includes his first major Venture into movie making 1997's girl crazy shown on HBO's Cinemax service it was never widely released in theaters and I can see why it was hardly the most Innovative movie in the world and was based around some cheating unromantic guy who in the words of Wikipedia must learn how to be a man Dutcher himself even claimed that the movie was not very good although Dutcher has a full copy he unsurprisingly has no plans to release it instead he occasionally uses it as part of his classes presumably classes on how to make a bad movie wake in Frights next up a now fully found movie that's one of the most controversial on this list wake and fright is about a young guy who has a lot of horrifying experiences during a visit to an Australian Outback town but the movie is most well known for a cruel kangaroo shooting scene some Australians hated the movie for its cynical depictions of Australian culture and partially because of these controversies the movie seemingly faded from existence after a lengthy search the film's editor discovered the original negatives in a Pittsburgh shipping container marked for Destruction a full restoration was completed and the movie is now fully available after it was restored wake and Fry was shown at the 2009 Keynes Film Festival many audience members walked out because of the kangaroo shooting scene so all these years later it's still pretty shocking Star Wars The Lost Cuts you know Star Wars you probably also know that A New Hope episode 4 was the very first movie but you might not know that a largely lost very different version exists this rough early version was edited by a guy named John Jimson but Lucas didn't like the rough Cuts so he fired him took on a new editing team and made the movie we all know today Star Wars fans are always the Keen to get their hands on a copy of the early version sadly for them they probably never will because the tapes are stored in the LucasArts archive and reluctant old George has no plans to release them that's partially because he didn't like it now a few people have seen this version apparently it's around one-third difference from the cut you've seen and most of the extra stuff was superficial filler fall of a Nation 1916. 1915's The Birth of a Nation was let's just say very very controversial once called quote the most reprehensible racist film in Hollywood history it included terrible depictions of African Americans a whole load of blackface and a positive slant on the Ku Klux Klan [Music] the movie was based upon the 1905 novel The klansman which was equally horrendous a year after the birth of the nation was released the klansman writer Thomas Dixon Jr attempted to capitalize on its success by doubling down on his terrible opinions adapted from another one of his novels he released a movie of his own entitled the fall of a Nation it was all about a fictional future where the US becomes a failed nation because it's too peaceful thought to be the first ever featuring sequel it was the big flop the soundtrack survived but none of the footage did only a few Stills remain and that's probably for the best the ghost breaker 1914. famous for biblical epics and other massive movies Cecil B Demille was one of the biggest and most successful movie Men of all time in 1914 he was part of the direction writing and production teams for the ghost breaker a horror adaptation of a Broadway play featuring Manchester's ghosts a not really haunted house and some family treasure the plot reads like something from a Scooby-Doo movie it sort of launched a career of H.B Warner most famous for playing Mr Gower and It's a Wonderful Life but despite its big reputation at the time all we have left of 1914's the ghost breaker or a few stills weirdly a 1922 adaptation of the same stage play this time completely unrelated to Cecil beat a mile is also lost Wicked City Sam 1998. next up a now found film known by two names the wicked city was the movie's official title or at least it seems that way according to some sources some people still know the flick by its working title of Sam you can use whichever one you want this one in reality is nothing special but developed a bit of a cult status between 1998 and 2021 when it was finally Unearthed it was iconic mainly because of its commitment to a grubby aesthetic and edgy contents based on the fictional tale of a small town girl who winds up homeless and hopeless in New York City it featured a bunch of non-professional actors and the lead star never appeared in any other movie either before or since this one's now pretty dated as it's not as shocking as it might have been back when it was first released but if you want to check it out it's available in full on YouTube together for days 1972 alright pop quiz time what was Samuel L Jackson's first ever on-screen appearance was it good Phyllis True Romance Jurassic Park nope back in 1972 a mid-20s Samuel L Jackson featured in this mainly forgotten independent black exploitation movie Sean Atlanta it was centered around a black man a white woman the Romantic relationship and the controversy it caused apparently involving a super shocking ending very little memory of the movie seems to exist Jackson himself who didn't play the lead role hasn't said much about the film but he's claimed or maybe joked to be glad that no one could track it down a couple of Stills and ads exist but nothing else and because it was so under the radar it'll probably never show up Knights of the werewolf 1968's another lost werewolf movie but unlike the one I brought you earlier we don't even know if this one ever actually existed Paul Nashi is the most famous Spanish horror actor of all time and until he died in 2009 he maintained that he once wrote and starred in a 1968 movie entitled Knights of the werewolf which actually had other names but let's not worry about all that according to Paul Nashi the movie was lost forever because of some complications of the film processing lab so even he didn't get to watch it he claims the movie was directed by a guy named Renee govar who now she says was killed in a car accident also according the film featured two actors named Peter Beaumont and Monica brainville but here's the thing there is no record of any of these three people ever existing and it seems like literally no one else in the world has any memory of this movie so did Nashi make this movie yet to boost his resume it's possible since the Ledger release occurred early in his career or did he somehow get mixed up between this movie and the 1970 La Florida Lobo since the two are pretty similar or was he just confused because he's long dead will never know four devils 1928. FW mirnow was the Hipster before hipsters even existed imagine if Wes Anderson had died in 1931 and you're imagining FW murnau probably famous for unique and game-changing movies like Nosferatu taboo and sunrise the song of two humans this guy was one of Cinema's first real revolutionaries and three years before he died he made four devils featuring a weird plot about four orphans who all worked together in a circus he originally made a silent version of the movie while another not fully silent version was made without mirna's evolvements neither version has been found and seemingly no one knows why some people reckon Mary Duncan one of the film stars may have borrowed the movie from 20th Century Fox before accidentally losing it others think her modern day family have a copy but aren't sharing it whatever the case we'll probably never know for sure 1931 another Maverick another innovator Argentinian cartoonist gorido christiani made the first well-known animated feature film in 1917 named El apostol it was obviously massively influential because we still get animated movies today but more on that coming up soon in 1931 he made belud Palace the first ever feature-length animated movie with sound because of technical limitations the sound was actually recorded and played separately to the movie whenever it was screened like the rest of christiani's work baluta polis was a political satire and was based around the then Argentinian president the poloto egrushin but because the president was later ousted Christianity had to keep making changes eventually got it finished but fire destroyed the prince so we'll never get to see this one only a few Stills and posters remain remodeling her husband 1920 it was rare for movies to be ran and directed by women back in the 1920s so because this film was written and directed by iconic actress Lillian Gish it was unusual Innovative and influential it featured gish's sister Dorothy Gish and Dorothy gish's real-life husband James Rennie the plow was nothing special but the mostly women creative team definitely was but it's now lost and no one seems sure where the rules went or if they'll ever be found El apostol 1917 remember that Argentinian animator karino Cristiana guy I was talking about two minutes ago well like I said he made the first ever feature-length animated movie and this is it again it was a political satire and clocked in at a massive or at least massive at the time 70 minutes but like his other famous movie it was lost in a fire so all that now remains is a flyer and some designs was largely made with cut out paper puppets and those puppets were moved and rotated to give the illusion of movements sort of like an early version of the early version of South Park but presumably with fewer swear words and fewer alien anal probes dark streets 1929 I don't know much about this one and it seems no one does it's mainly famous for apparently being the first dual role talking picture movie a featured Jack Mulhall as both Pat McGlone and Danny macleone two twin brothers who according to the little information I can find fall in love with the same woman one brother is the policeman one is a criminal and they both look the same sword of penitence if you know anything about old school Japanese Cinema you'll be familiar with yasujiro ozu you may critically acclaimed game changers like late spring Tokyo story and an Autumn afternoon Tokyo's story in particular which released in 1953 is known for being one of the most important movies of all time but back in 1927 ozu directed his first ever movie Sword of penitence Asylum film is centered around two criminal brothers and their quest to better themselves only a few Stills remain and apparently ozu didn't really like the finished movie anyway the William freeze green films alright now we're getting really obscure no one can really say for sure who was the very first person to come up with any concrete concept on how movies would work names like Thomas Edison George Myles The Lumiere brothers and Louis the prince are always thrown around but some like to maintain that lesser-known English inventor William free screen was actually the guy who first pioneered the idea of a moving image I'm not quite sure why he isn't as famous as those other names but his gravestone calls them quote the inventor of cinematography with a K and he's credited with building early versions of film cameras before film cameras were even a thing he pounded the first of them in 1888 the same year that the first ever moving picture was made and as part of his invention process he of course made some experimental short movies but none have been kept and none have been found so we'll probably never see them basically no information at all exists for this one filmed and released in 1888 the name of the short movie translates to view of guanabara bay and it presumably features well a view of guanabar bay that bay sits in Brazil and The Story Goes that the footage was shot by an Italian cameraman who captured the film as he was arriving in Brazil as far as I can tell there's no confirmed footage of this one there's a grainy video on YouTube but no one's sure whether or not it's the actual 1898 movie [Music] him now that we're in tier 6 you can expect some weird [ __ ] and to get things started we have him one of our strangest entries so far what could be more controversial than a 1970s made feature film gay porno allegedly advertising as heralding a quote new era in pornography that's right a 1970s made feature film gay porno featuring Jesus as one of its characters this one was centered around some super horny young guy who developed an erotic obsession with Christ himself between 1974 and 1976 him played at many theaters across the states but no copy of the film itself has ever been found allegedly only one copy or maybe two of the film ever existed and all critics who watched it claimed it was pretty bad the farmer based on the fictional tale of some farmer who returns a hero from World War II plot points include fire acid and murder after occasionally turning up in theaters on YouTube and in people's attics the farmer finally got an actual release in February 2022 it came out on Blu-ray and a very low quality version is available online no major names were attached to it and no one seems to think it's anything special but it's now easy to watch if you want to hands up 1918. in the first half of the 20th century films cereals were pretty popular they work just like TV serials today made up of a sequence of connected episodes except instead of watching it on Netflix you went to watch them at a movie theater the longest of them which came out in the silent era was the 119 episode the hazards of Helen it ran from 1914 to 1917. however another popular silent era serial was hands up which clocked in at 15 episodes and was released sporadically in 1918. all about Incas Cowboys and outlaws lots of posters and stills remain and a promotional trailer stored in the University of California film and television archive but that's all we have and we'll likely never see any more Honolulu nights Diana Hansen young was born in Washington state around 20 years later she moved to Hawaii where she became famous for painting portraits of Hawaiian women and children she's also known for political work playwriting and Publishing a series of kids stories but in 1991 she made a lost animated movie a one hour adult mystery Anson young calls it an early anime and claims it was quote not for children not a whole lot more is known about it and aside from the VHS cover and a couple of hats nothing else remains on our Etsy store which she still maintains and manages Hanson young has claimed that Honolulu Knights is now unavailable and if she doesn't have it we probably never will be fighter 1959 surprisingly this one is completely unrelated to the mega famous games instead 1959 Street Fighter is a little-known bee movie which is most famous and I'm using the term famous Loosely here because it was directed by Joseph sargents you might not know that name but he went on to direct major stuff like The Taking of Pelham One Two Three and Jaws the Revenge anyways this movie was all about gangs unruly kids and unsurprisingly street fighting at some point it existed on both VHS and DVD but it seems it's no longer available okay so this I can't say the name of this film and yeah that's exactly what you think it is but despite its outrageous name the movie wasn't as shocking as most people probably now expect instead it seems the goal of this movie or at least one of the goals was to put some sort of positive spin on the title's controversial word by focusing on black history and black pride though not much is known about the plots it apparently featured a man on a journey back to his native Jamaica and during this journey he met with some Reggae bands According to some reports the film was all pretty boring and uneventful and audiences were impressed the movie was only released in Jamaica and the Bahamas and some audiences allegedly rioted after seeing it frustrated they wasted their money on such a mundane bore Fest allegedly no Prince now exist but because it's more known for its name and soundtrack and because it's a relatively modern release it might still turn up one day convention City 1933 in 1934 the haze code was introduced a set of censorship guidelines dictating what could and couldn't be included in movies it was introduced because some films were considered too controversial intervention city was one of them released just a year before the haze code became official it was known for being racy and risque and after the code was released this flick was withheld banned censored and ordered to be destroyed it was deemed unacceptable for a lot of different reasons the costumes were revealing the characters were obsessed with alcohol and sex it was stuffed with double entendras and it apparently featured some full frontal nudity at the time one review stated that quote several of the jokes needed Subterranean mine to be correctly understood the script is still in circulation and more than 200 Stills have survived but it's thought no Prince exist nobody ordered love 1972. British filmmaker Robert Harford Davis was one of the biggest names in early exploitation Cinema a type of genre turning out low budget movies to make quick cash for a contemporary trends and one of his attempts was 1972's nobody ordered love a drama about tragedies occurring on the fictional film sets of a World War one movie when it was released it wasn't promoted very much then it wasn't very popular or successful so as some people have claimed Arthur Davis pulled it from circulation the British film and still has a copy of the script and some Stills remain but the original movie will probably never be seen as tardy According to some rumors Arthur Davis added a clause in his will demanding that all copies of the movie would be destroyed when he died and he died back in 1977 so bragatso 1934. Italian screenwriter Ivo Pirelli penned a lot of big flicks two of his most famous were adaptations of Ulysses and War and Peace the guy obviously liked big books but early in his career pearly directed and semi-wrote 1934's regatso which pretty much no one knows anything about that's partially because it was banned between 1930 and 1944 around 700 Italian movies were made of them all regatza was the only one due to the government censorship they covered fascism poverty gangs and Hooligans and the Italian government didn't like how it depicted the nation so only one copy ever survived and during World War II this copy was stolen and presumably lost or destroyed by German soldiers when they raided an Italian cinematography Center seems to me a strange place to glutes but maybe that's why I'm not a war strategist the big city 1928 remember London after midnights the very first film in this Iceberg well remember how it was a collaboration between director Todd Browning and actor Lon Chaney so was the big city and remember how the prince of London after midnight were destroyed in the 1965 MGM fall fire well so were the prince of the big city weird huh the Paw featured gangsters girlfriends stolen jewelry and a nightclub called black bottom a few Stills have survived along with a trailer but that trailer doesn't actually feature any footage from the movie no one knows when the last screening of the big city occurred some think it was during the 1920s others think it might have been during the 1950s either way there's basically no chance we'll ever see it swanza tests his wife the earliest ever Hong Kong feature film this 1913 silent movie was about some guy testing his wife by faking his own death how will she react will she care will she not care will she immediately find a new husband truth is we'll probably never know because online sources give different accounts it was never screened in Hong Kong but zwanger Tessa's wife was shown in some parts of the USA and so became the first Chinese movie to ever be screened abroad it seems only once still from the movie remains which might have actually been a promotional shot so any hopes of seeing this movie are definitely optimistic soccer mom Detective 2008. last up and this tier a contender for the worst name for a short film ever if you're a five-year-old Christian or if you're the parent of a five-year-old Christian you might have heard of VeggieTales a very long-running animation in which vegetables tell Bible stories in 2008 one of the show's voice actors Tim Hodge entered two short films into a Nashville movie festival one of them was soccer mom detective which featured a woman investigating The Disappearance of a kidnapped cat not much else is known and only a couple of Stills remain oh and in case you're curious Tim Hodges other movie was an animation named time and chance it featured two cartoon flies discussing the meaning of life while sitting on piles of poop foreign the first man in the moon no this isn't related to a conspiracy theory instead it's a lost 1919 black and white Style movie based on HG wells's 1901 novel The First Men in the Moon yeah the same H.G Wells who wrote War of the Worlds the Invisible Man and loads more science fiction classics the first real adaptation of one of his books the movie's plot was based around a trip to the moon an anti-gravity substance and some aliens a received mixed reviews it soon Fade Into nothingness and I can't find any information on what happened to the prince so now All That Remains are a few production Stills and a vague outline of the plot Mickey Mouse sex tape uh yes the infamous Mickey Mouse sex tape an old Story Goes that in 1936 Walt Disney's brother Roy Disney organized the secret party for Walt's 35th birthday as part of the party some animators made a cartoon of Mickey and Minnie Mouse having sex everyone laughed while pretended to laugh and asked who made the animation when the cartoon animators admitted to it wall immediately fired them and demanded all copies to be destroyed but some people claim this never happened and that it was either completely made up or a hugely exaggerated version of a sort of similar events but one thing's for sure whether this ever existed or not it's probably gone for good stop 1970. because of its controversial X rating this infidelity fueled flick seemingly disappeared after a few screenings in some small theaters but in December of 2022 it was Unearthed when it was uploaded onto the internet archive by a user named Dynamite films and it's now fully available on a few different sites including YouTube the plot is mainly centered around swinging sex partner swapping and marital and happiness with an added side order of suicide and murder now it's not as shocking or outrageous as it was 50 years ago but you can check it out if you really want to sorcerers 1998. judging by the small amount of footage I found on this one it's probably a good thing it was never released a director video movie from direct to video movie expert Albert Pune the plow was going to be Loosely based on the Three Musketeers and it was seemingly said to be made up of 36 very short episodes that were put together would form the full movie some people have speculated that six of these mini episodes were made but only three have ever surfaced if I were you I wouldn't bother watching them unless you liked terrible acting or terrible CGI fight harm 1999. Harmony Kareem is responsible for some of the strangest stuff I've ever seen in gummo acting while drunk he has a profound conversation with a muscular dwarf while rubbing his nipples he's held numerous photo shoots with Macaulay Culkin his 2007 movie Mr Lonely is about a depressed Michael Jackson impersonator who moves to the Scottish Highlands and is shot on VHS 2009 Movie Trash numbers follows a gang of old people who like pretending to have sex with trash in a way Korean is like some sort of weird Internet troll creating sometimes brilliant sometimes terrible work that makes you wonder whether or not he's actually being serious and his unreleased fight harm is probably the biggest example of that partially made in 1999 Kareem described it as the future of Comedy the premise was pretty simple Karine wanted drunk around the streets of Manhattan accompanied by a small camera crew he would then find people who were bigger than him and provoke them into a fight and the camera crew were permitted to stop these fights only after Kareem was knocked out after nine fights and 17 minutes of footage Karine canceled the filming because he kept getting injured and arrested he's shown some people some footage but he's never released it publicly in 2010 Corrine said quote my wife is really adamant about me not showing it at this point she thinks I need to wait another 10 years for it to be really funny the only purpose of these fights was to make the world's greatest slapstick comedy something that buster Kian or The Three Stooges would have been jealous of 1973 there really isn't much information on this one according to an old edition of a News Journal 1973's ramasha was an Indonesia made movie centered around the Japanese Occupation of the nation this real-life occupation occurred between 1942 and 1945 and it seems the movie was a brutal and barbaric depiction of these actual events the finalized movie was approved by the Indonesian movie board and was then privately shown at an event attended by members of the Japanese Embassy the Japanese officials didn't like it so it was pulled from distribution and never seen again a daughter of the Gods 1916. another Herbert Brennan production another silent black and white Lost movie when it was released a daughter of the Gods was controversial for its nakedness it included what thought to be the first ever nude scene from a major star in one section of the movie actress and swimmer Annette Kellerman was naked under waterfall though most of her body was covered by her hair All That Remains are a few stills from that scene a few stills from other scenes and some promotional stuff the footage was lost a long time ago and no one really seems to know how Dustin Diamond teaches chess you know Dustin Diamond the guy who played screech in Saved by the Bell well in this four hour instructional video and some other guy teach you how to play chess while Dustin Diamond has a lot of terrible Impressions irritating jesters and stupid voices aside from that there's no real plot or anything because it's a video about how to play chess for four hours I know I'm making this sound pretty bad but the short pieces of footage I've watched are even worse one minute was enough for me so I'm not sure how anyone managed to endure the entire movie though this instructional video was thought to be lost forever it was fully released again in 2022 it was released at and I'm not joking here Dustin Diamond teaches chess.com for forty dollars some ready user took one for the team bought it watched it and regretted doing so weirdly that site is now down again and so the movie in full at least for now is unavailable again sorry to disappoint you self-portrait 1969 if you're a Beatles fan there are probably lots of Lost in Hidden obscurities you want to uncover Carnival of light the Yellow Submarine Movie remake and so on but you probably never wanted to watch a 42 minute movie of John Lennon's semi-wrecked penis oh that's a relief because that very movie is now lost Yoko Ono made some pretty wacky stuff and this was among the wackiest of them all made up of nothing more than one long shot of Lenin's penis the slowed down movie was screened once at London's Institute of Contemporary Arts and then never seen again Yoko had plans to screen the movie again alongside recorded reactions to the footage but she dropped the plants so we'll probably never see this one [Music] the filthy five American filmmaker Andy Milligan is another cult name in the exploitation genre from the mid 60s to the early 80s he made almost 30 movies and according to some sources 1968's lost the filthy 5 was the most popular of them all and one of Andy warhol's favorite movies information about this one is pretty thin and what I found might not even be true but it seems this sex Fest film future plot points including prostitution LSD heroine unhitched parties and a failed boxing career the official film poster probably sums it up best with tagline almost every night an orgy of depravity the movie was allegedly lost when Mulligan's son melted the prince to obtain and sell the silver inside them Versa Birds 1993. this one was seemingly lost forever but after some searching I discovered that it was uploaded to YouTube three weeks before I started making this video and it's so obscure and little known that as of now it's only been watched a few times an unusual but touching documentary it uses interviews and found images to tell the true stories of gay survivors of Nazism in the Holocaust the name of the movie translates into English as Enchanted and if you're looking for a unique perspective on a grim time it's totally worth checking out the cure for insomnia aside from making this 1987 movie John Henry timmis IV seemingly did pretty much nothing else of notes with this movie career but with this one he really went all out recognized by Guinness World Records as the longest movie ever made this gargantuan epic clocks in at a massive 85 hours or over 5000 minutes allegedly the entire movie is centered around artist l d groven reading his 4080 page poem also called the cure for insomnia during the movie This reading is apparently interspersed with some porn and some heavy metal music videos the poem itself is also lost the movie was first screened in one long continuous showing at the School of Art Institute of Chicago in 1987. it was never released on VHS or dvd some people claim the movie was simply a terrible art piece others reckon was actually made as some sort of body clock reprogramming experiments to cure insomnia but I guess any movie this long will probably do the trick Sherlock Holmes and caracos another little known Oddity I couldn't find much information about this Venezuelan movie was allegedly screened at Cartagena film festival in Colombia in 2009. plot points apparently include pagans vampires Miss Venezuela and a whole load of constant silly gags I don't know much more and we probably never will Uncle Waltz 1964. this Disney related cartoon short was made as part of a University of California Workshop it was created by then student Robert Swartz who now has big credits for special effects work on Close Encounters of the Third Kind 1979 Star Trek the motion picture and plenty more Uncle Watts allegedly opened with animations of Walt Disney at various stages but then moved on to much darker contents featuring graveyards prostitution racist caricatures and a mausoleum According to some sources Disney icons were cast in let's just say unusual roles including goofy as a pimp and Fantasia centaurs working in a red light district but because this was an experimental student film it's probably lost forever Kansas City blender Massacre Todd sheets has a cool reputation for writing and directing sort of Brilliance sort of terrible low budget shock Fest horror movies excessively goryan intentionally hammy his do-it-yourself style movies are fun weird and totally unbridled and as 1986 now lost short movie Kansas City blender Massacre seemingly ticked all those boxes as you probably worked out for yourself the movie was based around some guy who used a blender to kill people or maybe to blend them after he killed them or maybe to mix them up in some smoothie I don't know anyways According to some reports the movie was made rented out in small local video stores then lost forever some of the footage was reused in one version of another of Todd sheets movies though the chances of seeing Kansas City blender massacre in full are pretty much impossible Part B in the brain rounding things off this is somehow our weirdest entry so far Amanda Fielding is an iconic British scientist well known for her Research into the potential mind-altering benefits of using MDMA LSD psalocybin and Other Drugs but she's also interested in the potential benefits of trepanation in which you have a hole cut in your skull F4 1970s documentary movie heartbeat in the brain she filmed herself drilling a hole in her own head with a dentist's drill though not much of the movie is publicly available the existing Stills are pretty gory but it wasn't also shocking the movie for some reason also contains footage of fielding's pet pigeon the documentary was filmed by Joey Mellon another self-trapanning Enthusiast who later had two kids with Fielding they named those kids rock basil Hugo Fielding melon and Cosmo birdie Fielding melon which sound exactly like the type of names you might give your kids if you had a literal hole in your skull anyways Harpy in the brain was screened in 1978 in New York and apparently at least one audience member fainted it was publicly screened again in 2011 in London some Cliffs have been featured in other movies and documentaries but it seems the entire movie will never be released on The Wider scale [Music] foreign [Music]
