This is really deep as her addiction to knitting is like her addiction to her ambitions. In the end she sacrifices a part of herself to her ambitions, but it still pulls her over the edge. In the end, she bit through her own hair to set herself free. She lost a part of herself, and her addiction to 'knitting'. Picking up the scissors she realizes that she could have prevented all her losses if she snipped the thread. She learns to appreciate the scissors and how there should be an end to everything.
