The Last Flight of the Victor

[Music] Raf shawbury in Shropshire was to have the honor of being the destination for the last ever flight of a v-bomber shaur had no connection at all with Victors being used for helicopter training but it's close to RAF cosford and the Aerospace Museum whose Runway is too short for a Victor to land safely the public were not allowed onto the active Airfield but a select group mostly from the media and a few curious base Personnel were the only close-up Witnesses of this historic event on approach then and destined for cosford by road is xh 672 made Maran [Music] you for [Music] e of the remaining four the nose section of XM 717 lucky L will be on display at the RAF museum at henden but for the others like so many before them it's Fire Rescue Training and eventually the [Music] scrapman I great yeah we are then the log book for X Hotel 672 the last of the V bombers thank you very much please look after yes and uh that's the last sign that's the original copy of the authoriz agencies for for the last s yes very pleased to have it at long last and relieved too because at one point in time we weren't going to get it um we did want it to arrive at kford but of course the room is too short there but landing it here is a blessing in disguise because it's going to be broken down and then roded to C and while it's in while it's been dismantled it can be sprayed the inner workings can be sprayed and we'll be able to keep it for a lot longer then not just 33 years or 40 years since it first flew of course 1953 but for another hundred years we have
