you put on your best master of ceremony's voice now and let's bring on the kingsman would you do that would you please welcome from all the way from nashville tennessee would you please welcome from all the way from asheville north carolina to kingsman quartets have you made your preparation for the bank when he's prepared friend you've got your invitation promise me that you'll be there can't you hear the master say friend it's time to celebrate meet me at the table just inside the game meet me at the table at the breaking of the the key now there's a way that you can make it though old satan says don't try make that promise then don't break it and you'll meet me by and by keep your lamps all trimmed and burning with the shadow of a doubt while the bridegroom is returning don't let your lamp go out meet me table of love thank you okay we wouldn't do it over but i can't sing my verse again no thank you so much somebody clapped because i couldn't sing it it's a wild bunch as usual but that's a song from a brand new album that we have with us tonight and uh the first part of the program tonight we'll be singing all songs from the new album and then after intermission we'll be singing your favorite songs and favorite requests but this song that we're going to do now features our bass singer hey man have you seen him up close his face has got so many wrinkles and it looks like a georgia road map now but he had a little trouble with this song it's got 387 words in it that he had to learn and it took him well we started learning this song january a year ago and he's just now got it down i hope you know there's always people around like in churches where where we go that that they think they can sing better than anybody else so they think they drive a sunday school bus better than anybody else so they think they teach a sunday school class better than anybody in the whole world and like when they get to heaven they're going to be the only ones there because they're so good and so a fella wrote a song on that premise it's called ain't nobody say but me listen what kind of heaven would god's heavenly if there's nobody saved by me when the lord what kind of heaven would god's heaven be if there's nobody safe but me the lord saved me from saying put his mighty love within everybody in the church look good to me they may have had some little faults but that i couldn't see i was busy praising god for victory then one day when brother ed passed me by and turned his head i said he thinks he's too good to speak to me and if he don't change his way i just know he can't be saved and i think you've ever had much anyway and i know that sister king when she gets up there to sing she's just putting on the show for folks to see when they all begin to shout i just cannot help but doubt that they're all then i heard the other day that our pastor brother ray was in trouble with the law in tennessee i don't know this to be true but i don't hear that siren again then i heard the other day that our pastor brother ray was in trouble with the law in tennessee i don't know this to be true but i think that i am through because you got the words of preaching right at me so i quit the church and said that the members all were dead and no good in anybody could i see i always found the flaw with everybody that i saw they're just all a bunch of hypocrites but me then i said how can this be if there's no one safe with me someone must be very badly out of line well i begin to look around this is what i found that the only foot to shoot was mine so i got down on my knees and i said lord help me please won't you take me back and try me one more time won't you teach me how to live how to love and to forgive so that i can be a life that'll always shine well the lord he heard my prayer and he came and touched me there and he gave me back your beyond compared to now i'm happy every day and i'm singing on my way everybody everybody will be happy over there everybody will be happy good job old timer from the new album listen as ed sings i think a great song so many times in our christian life we tend to try to handle the problems ourselves when if we put our faith and trust in god we'll put our faith and trust in him we put our faith and trust in the captain of the old ship of zion he knows every shallow place he knows every reef he knows every heartache listen as it sings for you the captain listen this life is like a ship on the ocean things go smooth when the sky is blue but when the wheels start to blow and the storm clouds gather i won't worry for and it seems that it's falling apart and i won't worry he's been here before when the evening horizon this whole vessel it's hardly a float but when the warning breaks and i can hear the captain say child you're home now you've never been here so i look up to heaven and there there stands the captain he's not worried he's been here before it's good tonight to know the captain glad that he lives in my heart there's so many people here that we know by your first name and friends and it's just a good place to come and be but tonight if you don't know this captain that we sing about if you don't know this man call jesus you're living beneath your privilege he's here he's there just to take care of every problem that you have no matter how big we might think it is or how small we might think it is he's there when the evening sun it says on the horizon and this whole vessel that's battered and torn from the storms of life you see she's hardly a float doesn't seem like we can make it but if we can just hold on if we can hold on till say child your home now you've never been here before i he's been here before he's not worried he's not worried i like that we go from songs that are brand new to a song that was written in 1931 and i'll tell you what this is an old-fashioned old-time singing convention song how many ever been to the same convention where they call people out of the audience to direct the song well now this one is just exactly like that we're going to sing every note every bird's eye every whole every word just like it's wrote in the what what is it 166 in the new red book so uh i want you to get ready here we go now we're going to do a verse and a chorus and a verse and then on the course the fellas are going to sing the parts individually so you can kind of see how they sound like before they're put together every part's different the bass and the baritone the lead and the ladies part over here the alto section and so uh i want you to listen here we go with leave your sorrows and come along no no no no anthony anthony fix your collar old time singing old time playing like sister palmer used to do kind of like my wife just old time is a nothing could cause us to turn back in the race jesus abundantly supplies us with grace why should the children of god be sad live our voices in jubilee keep singing and be glad things are not bad leave your sorrows and come with me why should we be sad the children of god be saddled let us lift our grateful voices in glad you believe oh be glad for things are not so bad leave your sorrow and come along and go with me why should children of god be no somebody spit on the book oh be glad things are not bad my brother leave your sorrows and come with me why should the children of god be sad live voices and happy jubilee oh be joyful brother for things are not bad my brother leave your sorrows leave your sorrow and come along with me abundantly surprise us with grace leave your sorrows and come along with me ice and come along with me how about that take a bow boy amen yeah well you hadn't done anything i want you to play something for me what fix your tie there you look up now i want you to play we put you're starting to get on my nerve i got one nerve and you're getting on it we'll do it after a while if you'll shut up and be quiet the rest of the night we uh on this album placed a medley piano medley of psalms and uh anthony plays the battle hymn of the republic how great thou art leaning on the everlasting arms i'll fly away and do me a little christmas song so you do we may be leaving very soon it won't be long till we'll be leaving we may be leaving very soon it could be oh very soon 1.5 yeah you like that kind of singing oh i tell you what i like that we may be leaving very soon i heard a songwriter the other day one of our most prolific songwriters say he didn't like to write gospel and religious music about the future he liked to write songs what were about what was happening now well i've had about all of now i can stand i'm looking forward to going home to be with jesus i'm looking forward to leaving the world of heartache and pain and sorrow i'll tell you what i'm feeling pretty good put that thing up in gear i'm glad he made my reservation well when he died we may be leaving very soon it could more there's we may be leaving very soon we may be leaving very soon hey yeah let's give the lord a big hand that's why we sing amen thank you let me introduce the kingsman to you young man playing the piano over there he's been with us since he was 16 years old and i'll tell you what he's i don't know what i tell you i just don't believe there's any better anywhere he's been voted gospel music's number one musician for the past six years anthony berger tony berger playing the instruments that big fella comes from midfield alabama i don't know how much he weighs but he has to have his own private zip code i can tell you that how about it gary diller gary dillard drummer look out don't bump your head there mike stands about four feet off the ground don't hit your head on uh he's been with the kingsman since he was 13 and just doing doing a great job how about it for greg fox greg over come up here son you've done a good job on that song you like ed's new song i was gonna sing it myself and he walked in and said i want that song see how big he is he got that song how about it big ed crawford from buchanan west virginia good job come here squeaky now this one's been with the kingsman for about three years he's written 350 songs of course nobody's ever sung any of them but he's wrote it doing a great job singing the tenor how about it for gary shepard gary shepard come on don't get behind that mic stand you can't see we got these suits from that hong kong tailor little jab about that big come and measured him before you should have seen him honk song but we got he's gained 50 pounds since he's been with the kingsman should have seen him before he when he drank red soda pop he looked like a thermometer right there but he does a great job of singing he loves the lord with all his heart would you welcome arthur rice don't get too close you know how base singers you know uh j.d sumner and all of georgia they they got ego i mean giant you know it's been kind of barren on my mind i dreamed the other night that ray went to heaven and he got up there to the pearly gates and they called him in the main office and said now we know that you sung all over the country sung all over the world sung baits and we've been wanting to organize a male chorus the world's biggest male course in heaven and up until now we hadn't had anybody that we thought could handle it and boy when they said hand it be in charge that just i can do that you know i thrilled him today and they said well mr reese what do you need for this choir he said i need 5 000 first tenors that didn't do that said i need 5 000 lead singers that's no problem i said we need 5 000 baritone singers so that's good that'll take care of it thinking he started out saint peter said well what about all the bases he said i can handle that by myself i don't need no help how about it ray reese ray dean reese voted gospel music space center thank you can handle that by myself thank you so much come here art he don't like me to call me mark but he's too little if i was to hit him one time they'd be picking up the pieces down in cartersville and jacksonville and everywhere else i want you to listen to author sing a song from the new album that squire parsons wrote for us and i think it's one of the greatest songs we've ever seen people are always saying why do you fellas travel 100 000 miles a year 130 000 miles every year why do you stay gone from home 250 days a year and i always told them it's just because we felt that god would have us sing and in the cards and letters we get our offers and phone calls about how the singers bless people and people getting saved through the singing that's all you could ask and then squire wrote the song that says it all for me it says i sing because of an empty grave i sing because he has the power to save me i sing because i know i'm not alone i sing because praise god someday i'm going home listen as author sings for you i sing because i've been singing about my lord for many years i've sung when i've been happy i've sung when i've had fears but the reason that i'm singing i want the world to know i sing because there is an empty grave i sing because there is the power to save i sing because his real to me i sing because i know i'm not alone i sing because someday i'm now i've sung to those walking walking through the fiery trial and i've watched their saddened faces turning happy smiles then i bowed my head and whispered lord please do the same for me and i'm proud that i can tell you that he's gave me i sing because his grace i know i'm not alone and i sing because someday i'm going home i know i'm not going alone hey we've got uh a couple of fellas here that i'm gonna put on for a song uh jackie i'm gonna do you uh a little bit later okay where jeff where's jeff everhart come up here jeff is from dallas georgia get your hands out of your pocket jet my fan club had a meeting the other day in a phone booth i produced a solo album for jeff here a few months now jeff jeff will be jeff you want to do master the sea or broken rose or what master the sea you want the kingsman to sing with you on the course all right jeff everhart ladies and gentlemen here we go breakers dashed on every all on board were filled with pride the winds and waves and when he reaches out his hands what man is who this with me he's the master of the sea and though the storms of life he will come life's troubled and as upon life i'm so glad he sails with me he's the master of the sea is winds and waves with me he sails with me he's the master thanks a lot for turning me off jeff oh i tell you what we had a good time doing his album and and uh well what's his name down there jack and uh this is the single off of our new album and uh we did a video on not a concept you know not one of those things it's a whole this album just like it was and and had 4 400 people in nashville tennessee and and at the opera land when we did this live album and that wasn't just for us you know i'd like to say we had 4400 there just to hear us uh like some group did in a publication here a few weeks ago from word music but it wasn't there was there was a the rex needle and singers were there the kingsmen were there master five and a couple other groups but we had a great time on that afternoon doing the live album and the folks really enjoyed this uh this song and and it's a single off the album and and everything's gonna do real good listen hope you enjoy have you ever had a bad day ever had a sad day nothing isn't going just right is stand up and identify stand up tell us all about it stand up and testify stand up if you love jesus tell us all about it stand up and testify yeah just remain standing remain standing now when you stood up you wasn't standing up for the kingdom lord we wouldn't have we wouldn't have it we like it yeah we like when you stand up you wasn't standing up for anything he wasn't standing up for the joyful noise but you wouldn't standing up for southern gospel music you're standing up for jesus and i'm glad for a crowd of people that'll stand up for it i heard this song i was on the interstate going to my house and uh old jackie knows they've been up there and that little four lane off the interstate going back in there the slums where i live and i heard i heard i heard this song on the radio and i thought my i just heard the chorus i said my that they could make a great gospel song then i heard the verses and they wasn't they're not too good they're not good at tall nasty in fact but boy that course i kept for two or three days i kept over and over stand up stand up stand up and i called nashville tennessee and got permission to do the song permission to rewrite the words if you don't do that you're in a heap of trouble because they'll sue you every way from sunday if you don't believe it ask some of the groups that have done go jonah and they've done uh some more songs but anyway they were kind enough to allow us to do this song and i had squeaky over here rewrite the words son you're going to get one of your songs son over and over and we learned this song boy we worked on it and i arranged it and we got up to chicago or somewhere boy we sung and the people stood up praising the lord and shouting and boy i was feeling oh i was feeling proud of myself i went back to the record table you know because it's my creation i'd put it all together no i was feeling so good lady walked up to me and said brother hamill i said yes ma'am she said i say this with a heart full of love and buddy when she said that i knew i was a dead pigeon when they start on you like that or i say this in christian love my brother you can put your helmet on they're getting ready to pop it right between your eyes i said yes ma'am she said i didn't like that song that's a country song i said lady you didn't listen to the words the words are what makes the difference the words stand up for jesus reminded me of a story my daddy used to tell he pastored a church in memphis tennessee for almost 40 years and a man one sunday morning was walking out of church dad was shaking hands and the man handed my dad 400 said would you take this money if you knew i won it last night playing cards dad said yeah the devil's had it long enough give it here that's the way we feel about this song here we go stand up and be identified stand up tell us all
