and we will connect with you during the week yeah yeah absolutely welcome everyone Jess it's been exciting starting out our summer already at one and all uh we had movie night and then you guys followed it up with an incredible time over at Westco what's coming up next for you guys and uh and I'll let you know what's coming up for us yeah it's been such an exciting time at church I feel like we're seeing a lot of growth a lot of new people which has been really cool whether that's like we've met people that have joined us because they saw us on Instagram or they're just visiting from another campus which has been so cool um so we're seeing a lot of growth which is awesome and we are actually planning to go to a 9am service which is really cool yeah so we're gonna open some some space for new people some new kiddos so we can just have that space for them and then even in the summer we have more fun stuff coming up we have a water day that we're partnering with the city to do at the Cameron Park Community Center so yeah we're just really excited that's so cool I mean we're we're experiencing growth as well and a quick update from from the the Rancho campus is that you might be at our campus and notice a change near the patio area we've seen so many people wanting to experience worship outdoors and so we decided to create a really intentional space out there where people can also watch the service over over the broadcast so it's really exciting to see what's going on yeah um we got a water day coming up too uh this on Sunday July 9th we're gonna be uh it's like a splash pad area for the littles we've got a giant water slide we're going to be serving hot dogs and nachos with all the fixings yeah we've got a cornhole tournament that's going to happen this time around so we're just super excited about what's going to be going on you may see my pictures on online but yeah we're we're doing good and you know we've seen some incredible stories um that have happened recently from our campus just last week I got a text from a person that visited our campus for the very first time and she said you know that was the message that I really needed to hear and I've just seen so much life change happening and we're so excited to be able to to bring people who are far from God near yeah well and now we're getting ready to jump into week five of under the influence and I'm gonna invite you at this time to go ahead and take out your one and all apps so you can follow along with Pastor Jeff's message and take notes but I'm also going to invite you to tell yourself at this moment Lord my heart is open and my mind is open for what you want to share with me today so here we go yeah now it's the moment we've all waited seven days for welcome to one and all right welcome to church everybody go ahead and stand up we're going to worship our Lord today happy Fourth of July weekend I'm a proud American but I'm even more proud to be a citizen of Heaven amen let's go let's worship [Music] thank you I thought Darkness but the miracle that I just can't get over my name is signs and wonders I have resurrection power [Music] it's still the miracle that I just can't get over my name is registered in heaven yes cause Grace rewrote my story I'll testify by Jesus Christ the righteous I'm this is my testimony this is my testimony together Sons and Daughters thought with blood and washed in water sing the Praises of the spirit son and father Our God will finish what he started yes cause Grace rewrote my story I'll testify by Jesus Christ the righteous now I know you guys know I'm Not Dead I'm not dead he's not done you're not done greater things are still to come oh I believe if I'm not dead you're not done greater things are still to because of Jesus Christ yeah are you grateful for the freedom that we have in Jesus Christ oh man Church it is so good to be here with you today well you guys can go ahead and take your seats um hi I'm Marissa and I have the honor of being a part of the Outreach team and part of the young adults team here and I just want to extend a welcome to you if this is your first time maybe your second or in this country [Music] in the house of the Lord be Christians share the gospel and this Tuesday we're celebrating the independence of this country but most importantly John 8 36 says if the son sets you free you truly are free the independence weekend we are so grateful to be here and just to be in this country but we've had so much fun this past summer and our summer of fun events our West Covina campus had a movie night we had Saturday hangs where there was Chick-fil-A and ice cream and it was just so much fun getting to see everyone this is a great opportunity for you to connect with friends and family here but most importantly bring your one life [Music] so July 14th we're gonna have a water a fun day bring your one life bring friends bring family it's just a time to hang out and get to know each other well we are in week five the last week of under the influence how good has this series been yeah so powerful Pastor Jeff is going to be leading us through the message today but I encourage you to take out your Bible take out your Journal but especially take out the one and all apps you can keep along with the sermon notes right now before we head into the message we're gonna pray father we thank you for this country we thank you for our freedom but most importantly the freedom and the the gift that you have given us of Grace we thank you that we have just been going through a series that's been so powerful I probably just keep our minds and our ears and our hearts open for what you have for us today and all of his church said amen [Music] thank you I'm coming I'm coming you know the the length of the bumpers change all the time and I can't get a rhythm going uh turn in your bibles if you would I hope you have it with you we're gonna we're still in Ephesians 6 because this whole series is based on that but turn over to John 8. John chapter eight uh okay this is the final week of the series and as I've Rewritten this message three times because as you know I try to pack a lot into the time that you're here I don't want to waste your time and I want you to be able to go away motivated right I want you to be able to say you know what this is the depth of the word of God and I know my I can trust my pastor to do his homework and to study and to research and then give me the scripture and then it's up to the Holy Spirit to do what he's going to do whatever he's going to do in our lives right that's I'm assuming that's why you come to one and all that's one of the reasons uh so trying to pack everything in on the last message I had to just how what angle do we want to take and so I've given you so much heavy information can I just can I just play the role of Pastor this weekend and and just the other research here but can I just Challenge and give you a great challenge so that we you know if you if you do all this this is the problem when I grew up and I would hear messages I would always walk away thinking like this so what what am I supposed to do now good information but that you know what's the transformational aspect of this whole series and that's what I want to that's how I want to land on this series I want you to be changed when you walk out of here this weekend I really am praying that your change that you see something that you've never seen before that you think man I remember back the 2023 July 4th weekend I remember that was the day I stepped across the line and I said all right this far no further this is it this is what I'm doing that's it and everybody's had those life-defining moments right you've had that moment in time when you suddenly you got it that's it I'm never going back fact for me a long story but with my father-in-law who's visiting the for the next few weeks and my my 83 year old father-in-law Charlie Delaney before I went to University which I would where I would meet my wife I heard this funny guy this funny old man from Africa preach in East Tennessee at a Christian men's fellowship I did not know who he was but I remember hearing that sermon and being so moved by it I thought man that's it right that is it I'm going to do something with my life for something that's bigger than myself I am going to do something large in the Kingdom now what's really interesting then I go away to University and I meet this girl and I start dating her we get pretty serious six months later she brings me home opens the front door to meet her father and it's him it's that preacher and so it's a long story it's a fantastic story but I remember that was a life-defining moment of my life that's it I'm not going to waste my life I am not going to I'm going to do something if my life turns out like that guy's life that's what I want to do I don't want mediocrity I want to do something that's really going to matter so on July 4th night I want to take you to July 4th 1973. okay some of you have heard this but it's a great way to start so it's the it's the little league championship game of Elizabethton Tennessee my hometown my team the Norwell plumbers okay it's my team plumbers against Tri-State containers it's the big game the mayor's there I mean this is a big thing mayor of the city's there everybody's there my mom's there with her lawn chair right all the lawn chairs are there and all the fans there on both sides it's uh it's back in the day when you played Peewee baseball when I was growing up you got eight balls before you walked there was no pitching machine man no pitching machine these little eight-year-olds had to throw it across the plane and then you had to try to hit it it's the last inning we score one run in the top of the seventh you only played 70s the other team's coming back all we have to do is get them out and we are the city official City championship team all right it will go down in infamy and uh my mom's over yelling you know little Jeffrey little Jeffrey you know my coach is going rocking fire Jeffrey because I was the pitcher my brother Tony was the catcher and we got two outs we're one out away from the city championship and Mike little comes to bat everybody knew Mike little best hitter in the league in pee wee baseball and I start rocking and firing right I got two strikes on him one strike away whoa It's the championship I throw him and my brother you know when you're in pee wee baseball you love doing the signs so my brother put down the one fastball because that's the only thing you know how to throw in your Peewee it's always one there's one Rock and fire the fastball Mike little boom now it goes out to right field which is the place the ball never goes and PeeWee you put your worst sorry guys but if you played right Phil if you were the worst player on your team because that's where the ball never goes the guy usually is out counting four leaf clovers just kind of collecting that he's not even watching it's remember these guys are seven and eight years old Boom the ball hit Mike little hits if it hits the top rally to the fence and bounces in thank goodness so he's rounding the bases now I'm I if you've ever met or participated in any sport with me you know I'm incredibly competitive so yeah so watch it Ricky Reed so uh so the ball lands at my uh right fielder goes and he gets it and of course he he's not used to he doesn't know what to do with it so he just kind of spins around and throws it somehow it's going over in the infill I run home and I say to my brother better get out of the way man I'm playing catcher because I I'm not going to risk losing this game well Mike Olympus pee wee baseball Mike Little's so happy he rounds third and he's he realizes we're not going to get the ball in time to tag him out so he just runs into the Dugout to celebrate baseball so what happens what do you think happened my mother ran onto the field yeah you've been there done that she grabbed the baseball and she put the baseball in my glove and she said Jeffrey he didn't touch home play Go tag him out no she should not be on the field but she's mom I take the ball I run over in The Dugout where they're celebrating I tag Mike little and the Umpire has the audacity to say you're out at that point pandemonium and my coach got in a fight with the other coach and Tri-State containers coach hit him in the nose this is back in the 70s you didn't do that then this is something that will happen later and then the rescue squad came and the police came and the we had a great mayor back then just great political mayor he calmed everything down and gave both teams first place trophies and we all went home now why do I tell you this I mean I can tell you a lot more of that but mothers wish they could live their lives for their kids don't they don't you wish you wish you could make this I mean I can't believe I was so ignorant that I thought when your kids get older you don't worry anymore you worry more and then then the grandkids come along and you love them more than your regular children and I don't know if it's because you're older or what but you do you love them more and then now you're really worrying and you'll just be daydreaming sometimes like what I gotta take my grandkids and now you know more because you've been around longer and you know all the potential hazards and I just want to set my grandkids down and tell them right now okay I gotta listen to me right now and think about the things you want to say to them you know already we're saying don't put that in your mouth don't don't don't play with that you know don't don't spill that don't say that and then as I get older you find you're saying the same thing don't smoke that don't drink that don't eat that don't waste that don't listen to them now I I tell you and I started that way because what must it be like for God what must it be like for God because the most misunderstood attribute of God is love and here's why how many times have you heard me say that the reason we're made and created is because God wants a love relationship with us but in order for love to occur he's got to give us the freedom to reject it if he could you know he could do with us what all of us want to do with our kids make them robotic and do exactly what we want them to say and do so that their whole lives will be in this little cage and you can't you can't spare your kids you can lock them up and some parents have done that I wanted to lock my daughter up until she was 18. I really thought about it what must it be like for God now it's Fourth of July weekend right and I I don't think it's been a long time since I've gotten to preach so I want to say something to you we are a blessed Nation and and people think because I don't get involved in politics that much that I don't love my country and you are so far from the truth I just know the best way to save it is through Christ but I do want to remind you but because there's so much deconstruction going in with our young people I want to say a few things and then we're going to make our transition and I'll show you how it's connected with everything we've been doing because it is on July 2nd 19 1776 Congress voted a complete separation from Great Britain and two days later the Declaration of Independence was signed by John Hancock the president of Congress and Charles Thompson the Secretary of Congress four days later July 8th members of the Congress read it out loud from the steps of Independence Hall after which the Liberty Bell was rung and the inscription that you see on the Liberty Bell says Proclaim Liberty throughout the land and to all the inhabitants thereof Leviticus 25 10. a direct quotation from the Old Testament why did our Founders used use scripture on so much of what they produced and the reason is because they believed that the American Independence was directly related to the sovereignty of God there is no doubt about that John Adams said the general principles on which the fathers achieved Independence were the general principal principles of Christianity not just not just a type of theocracy not just the belief in God but the general principles and precepts of Christianity John Adams in a letter to his wife Abigail the day after Congress approved the Declaration wrote this this day will be the most memorable epic in the history of America I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding Generations as the great anniversary Festival well it turns out he's right he said it ought to be commemorated as the day of Deliverance by solomax of Devotion to God Almighty so Adams went so far is to say that Christmas and the Fourth of July were connected because he believed that on the fourth of July the founders simply took the precepts of Christ who came into the world at Christmas okay his birth it's when we celebrate and Incorporated those principles into civil government our kids aren't being taught this anymore folks it's rare Samuel Adams not to be confused with John Adams when he signed the Declaration of Independence he said we have this day restored The Sovereign to whom all men ought to be obedient He reigns in heaven and from rising of the to the setting of The Sun let his Kingdom Come Again a quote right out of the Old Testament so the spiritual emphasis manifested so often by the Americans during the revolution actually caused One Crown appointed British Governor to write Great Britain complaining that and I quote if you ask an American who is his master he'll tell you he has none and he has no Governor but Jesus Christ John Adams and John Hancock together wrote We recognize no Sovereign but God and no King but Jesus George Washington the first president said it is impossible to rightly govern the world without God in the Bible he also said it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the Providence of almighty God to obey his will to be grateful for his benefits and humbly to implore his protection and favor and finally to the distinguished character of patriot listen to this it should be our highest glory to add the more distinguished character of Christians Benjamin Franklin said here is my Creed I believe in one God the creator of the universe that he governs it by his Providence that he ought to be worshiped and finally Patrick Henry said it cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists but by Christians not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ how on Earth how on Earth you could ever say that this country was not founded on judeo-christian values I have no idea how you can deconstruct that now I think that you would remember when we started the series I'm I made a statement that I know offends a lot of people in the world when I said that Israel and America have something in common that is they were both founded on the precepts of scripture Israel founded and governed by the law of God the Mosaic code America founded on the values of judeo-christianity in fact in the founding days Puritan leader John winthorpe gave America a Charged a charge that was based on something Moses said to the Israelites and I quote he says but if our hearts shall turn away so that we will not obey but shall be seduced and worship and serve other gods and then he names those Gods our pleasure and Prophets and serve them we shall surely perish he's saying that the Ten Commandments lead to prosperity and affluence and that's exactly what the nation of Israel experienced and yet interestingly enough when God blessed them and they became affluent they became more distant from God now why would that happen because when you have what you need you think you don't need God and that's where we are you and I were taught when we were children in Sunday school most of us of the cycle of Israel Prosperity sin judgment repentance prosperity what phase do you think America's in right now judgment is coming if it's not already here so the sit the series The reason I intended from the from the get-go was to try to help you explain what has happened in this country with the spread of Christianity the gods and goddesses who are meant to destroy were relegated to the fringes but now because we've eradicated the Bible the Ten Commandments the gospel the cross of Jesus Christ that has paved the way for the re-entrance of the Gods so now here we are what is it that adorns our cities now it's not the Cross of Christ it's not the Bible it's not the Ten Commandments Pride flags and parades but Christmas can no longer be celebrated in public if you notice that with Christmas songs or the story of the Christ child with every Christmas more and more you hear Christmas songs but no longer Christmas carols you hear us about celebration but you don't hear about the birth of the Christ child in fact that's offensive in many places and yet drag queens can come into our libraries and teach our children but but if a person wants to come in and read Bible stories the same stories that cause the prosperity of the West to a group of kids that's forbidden so what kind of world do we live in now and then I'm going to tell you where we go from here what kind of world we live in the world that Paul said that the first Christians lived in America is the new Babylon it's Who We Are actually that's who we are our battle and remember is not against people your anger your your vitriolic language is not against people but it's against the rulers of powers in World forces again if you missed that first part I can't go back into this but we learned that the Demonic forces are highly structured and they know what they're doing and they want to infiltrate governments educators every institution known to man so that it can bring destruction not life so that it can put an end basically to humanity and now we're living in a time where all of this Darkness resides over the land because we've eradicated the thing the very thing that pushed it out that's what we've been talking about and now we have the three Gods who've returned Bell is tar and Molech bow is the god where we turn away from worshiping the Creator and start worshiping created things Ishtar is the goddess who takes a man's passion away from a woman and turns it to a man a woman's passion away from a man and turns it toward a woman and then causes gender dysphoria confusion because if you can destroy the family you can destroy culture and if you're into story culture you can destroy Humanity if you destroy Humanity you destroy the very thing that God loves most first John 5 19 you've heard me say it again and again your life is a battle between Conformity to the world's thinking and think about it you're saturated with the gods and goddesses aren't you I mean has anybody noticed that if you watch television or movies lately you think that 50 of the world is gay and the other 50 percent are transgender it's amazing you can't watch your program now they are they are aggressively pushing it on you so that your children they know you're not going to get you but they're going to make your children think this is normal this is the way life ought to be and now you have a teachers union in America they don't think you should be responsible for your kids they think they should teach your kids what they want your kids to know and it's none of your business Disney we'll get to that in a moment you think they're not coming for your kids you got your head buried in the sand Renewing Your Mind so that you may know what is good acceptable and pleasing to God is has become Paramount now let's take that shorter sermon seriously it is a shorter sermon I want to go here now because here's the thing you concentrate on Ishtar but everybody in this room is serving one of the false gods in one way or the other we've all been impacted either by Molek Ishtar or bail because that's the culture in which we're living and man if you're not renewing your mind you'll be sucked into this and that's why I decided to do the series all of us the problem is all of us bring baggage into our relationship with God do you know that all of us bring something one of my first conversations I had with somebody of trying to help somebody far from God coming near the more I got to know this person I began to know his story and he told me how when he was five years old his parents just left him dropped him off somewhere and just walked away left him at six five or six years old he was discovered put in an orphanage where he was abused now you think about this because of that there's a lot of things that happened in his life he became incredibly driven to prove that he mattered of course he did because his parents abandoned him Society had rejected him so he was one of those persons who just focused on I'm going to prove to the world that I matter so it became driven but he also became the more he was successful the more he realized no matter how successful he became it was never going to fill this void so then he turns to addictions to try to numb the feelings and emotions he's experiencing he became an idol worshiper in the sense that instead of turning to God he turned to other things to fill the void but they never worked they just created insatiable lusts and as he told me his story from all the way from 5 to 35 I began to realize that every juncture of his story as he told me he turned to something else I realized that at every juncture the evil one would get a foot in the door and try to offer him something else to fill what only Christ can feel and then one day he finally heard the gospel people had been praying for him a battle had begun raging a friend invited him to church he walked forward something happened he was baptized and he said in his own words that day it was like the weight of the world was lifted and suddenly all my sins and all my failures came to light but as soon as that happened all the Forgiveness of Jesus Christ came to light I Found Jesus and it changed my life is it not the truth that everybody in the room is a sinner is it not true that we all have coping mechanisms that we turn to other than Jesus and isn't it true that the false gods who seek to destroy us offer those coping mechanisms this is how I want to end the series I can we can talk forever about what's going on but where do we go from here and here's where we go from here to remember that the gospel is the good news that all of us can be forgiven John 8 remember John 8 verse 2 at dawn he appeared again in the temple courts where all of the people gathered around him and he sat down to teach them the teachers of the law and Pharisees brought in a woman called an adultery they made her stand before the group and said to Jesus teacher this woman was called in the act of adultery I I can't help but ask this I know you've heard sermons on this but how do you catch a woman in the act of adultery you set her up you said you tempt her and you set her up in the law Moses commanded us to Stone such women what do you say they were using this question as a trap in order to have a basis for accusing him but Jesus bit down and started to write on the ground with his finger and we've all heard that he was probably writing the names of the people they've committed adultery with but whatever when they kept on questioning him he straightened up and said to them let any one of you listen now everybody let any one of you who has not committed in the original language it actually says this sin who let any one of you who's not committed this sin be the first one to throw the stone at this those who heard began to go away one at a time the older ones first why did the older ones go around why did they go for because they're smarter they realize man I can't trick this guy man I know I mean I yep he's got me nailed me gotta go until and then finally the younger ones well you know I'm not so bad really you're not until only Jesus was left with the woman still standing there Jesus straightened up and asked her woman where are they and listen to what he says has no one condemned you no one sir she said and then Jesus said then neither do I condemn you but then he declared go now and leave your life of sin well if he says you're sinning doesn't he condemn her what's he saying something in the dynamic happened in this passage I wonder I'd like to know what her story was had she been abandoned by her father has she been abused by a relative has she been forced into selling herself to survive in that culture was she abused by her first husband what kind of coping mechanism has she developed and that Jesus saw he knew what got her to this point and rather than condemn her he said I see you I know your life has been a living hell but I'm telling you you can be forgiven today just forget all of that and go and live your life and stop this life of sin I know a young man a very young man desperately wanted his father's approval my goodness and his father I knew his father as well was a dismal failure and it set this guy up so he wants his father's approval the father has no idea how to give it and his father is actually a narcissist he only is concerned about himself so when the young man got a little older he was kind of I don't want to say stalked but groomed by an older man the older man gave him love and acceptance and provided financially for him and now they're both in a homosexual relationship but for the young man it's not about sex it's about security do you hear me every time there's something that you need the evil one will offer a counterfeit way to meet that need other than Christ they're very well organized and everybody in the room is culpable the evil one leaps at the opportunity to present about counterfeit God to all of us to fill the Gap with a false idol but here's my warning be careful of focusing only on Ishtar in sexual sins and forgetting about Belle and Molech how many people in this room are now oh boy Pastor Jeff when he says he's really going to preach from now on no matter who stays or leaves boy okay this is going to prove it to you right here how many of you in the room you're so quick to point out homosexual lesbianism transgender dysphoria whatever gender dysphoria but you you're not a generous person and every time I talk about giving you leave I start a series on giving you out of here oh you're so quick to accuse those who are struggling with this star but you're struggling with Bell because your kingdom is not God's kingdom it's your own and I know the answer of that is about 50 percent of you yeah whose kingdom are you but what's your life about are you using God to get your money on your stuff are you asking God to bless you and I'm not talking about just church stuff I'm talking about just being a person of gender generosity Point Blank what should we learn from our time together seriously I got three minutes left don't worry I gotta stop I gotta I gotta be true to the top so I was quickly what do we learn number one here's what I want you to learn from the series number one work to redeem this land for the sake of our children work to redeem this land Daniel was in Babylon he was exiled because Israel had sinned against God and when you sin against God as a nation founded upon God God brings him the enemy to overtake you is God setting up America to be overtaken by Foreign land I don't know I don't I'm not that smart but I can tell you this either way Daniel showed us what to do what did Daniel do he just kept praying well they told him he couldn't do he just kept doing it he kept he didn't pick it he didn't scream patriotic language he just continued to do however and this is the however that I know many of you have been waiting for however you and I have something that Daniel did not have we live in a democracy so there is a difference Matthew 10 Jesus said I am sending you out like Chief Among Wolves therefore be as true to snakes and as innocent as doves what's he saying hey you still got to be clever given the world that you live in you've got to be clever and wonder how can I change this how can I protect the lives of our children how can I how can I bring a culture that is far away from God near God if you think I'm saying you just sit by and do nothing you're mistaken just be very wise in how you do it because what you don't want to do is do something that will destroy your ability to help somebody far from God come near there's no use cutting a person's nose off and then giving them a rose to smell right however can I tell you something after all of this research I've realized the power that you and I have the most important thing in America is the American dollar money speaks and there are influencers in our culture that if just the Christians stop supporting them they would most likely go bankrupt if just the Christian said no now I know how this works if you stop supporting anything that was anti-god you'd stay home and never buy anything I got it I got it but that doesn't mean you do nothing because you I have made a list after tons of research about those influences in our culture that are doing the greatest damage to the Next Generation okay and here's the thing you don't have to pick it you don't have to to to start lining up groups to go and boycott all you have to as a Christ follower just stop going there let me tell you if you stop going to these places just in San Dimas you know what if the Christ followers stop going to these places just in San Dimas they'd be hit so hard they'd have to take a good look at what they're doing if just the Christ followers okay so I'm not gonna I'm not gonna arrange a boycott as a Christian I'm not saying okay let's all meet out here we're gonna go over here that's not my job but my job is to let you know here are some of the companies here are the top companies that are trying to destroy this nation okay Disney number one so you can stop going to Disney well you know it's for the kids oh here we go again I can't do that you know I've got a Disney trip planned next week well of course and they know that they know you're not going to give that up but if only the Christians in Southern California if just the Christians in Anaheim stop going without saying anything they'd know the rep it's revenues get when companies start losing massive amounts of Revenue they start asking questions you with me Target and most of you know that but they've been that way for a long long time this is not anything new some of us have known this a long long time you say well if I go to Walmart aren't they bad too remember when I told you if you don't shop or do anything you'll never go out of your house you got to determine who's making the greatest impact and if you if you speak with your money other companies will start to get it Adidas I don't buy Adidas anyway so it doesn't hurt me any Believe It or Not Hershey's Bud Light your company Ford is getting worse and worse Nike is horrific and this last one's going to hurt now these are the these are the ones this last one's going to hurt Coca-Cola here's why I didn't want to say Coca-Cola number one I love Diet Coke but I realized and I almost left it out and I thought that'll be dishonest so here's what I'm making a commitment this day to do but this is what I'm doing I'm not trying to give you a list of things if you don't do it you're going to go to hell you're missing the point I'm telling you that if you care that much about your country oh you've got power my guess is though you don't care that much most of us don't care enough to stop doing things that we have because we're an affluent nation and when you're an affluent Nation you don't like to be told what you cannot buy purchase or do but I'm telling you stop complaining if you're going to do nothing about it when a significant group of people in a democracy like America pushed back against sinful ideologies the trajectory of a culture can be affected and you and I can make Brands think long and hard about promoting the things that want to destroy the lives of our future Generations okay the problem comes when you when this becomes your identity as a church suddenly you're known for boycotting yeah that's the church that boycotts that's the church that is a political movement I don't want to be a political movement folks I want to be a Biblical movement and that's why you'll find me doing series like this from time to time because I think it's my responsibility but 99 of the time I'm just going to bring in the Bible and I'm going to teach you the word of God and hopefully it will change your life okay Daniel remained true to his faith he didn't protest pick it or panic you simply kept living a life of Distinction number two work toward repentance for the sake of salvation I'm calling for repentance and the healing at the same time because they're connected I'm in Kauai a few years ago Charlie and I my father-in-law playing golf there's a guy that's a single so we said hey would you like to go through nice guy we met talked to found out he was from right here in Southern California he found out I was a pastor I don't know I can't remember how what do you do but he said oh I'm a Christian yeah I'm here I'm here celebrating with my girlfriend we've been living together for 10 years we got two kids this is what's the world is not the problem it's the church There's no distinction anymore not only are we not forgiving and merciful with each other but we're not following Jesus there will be people that have heard all these sermons that will continue to live together there will be people here all these numbers will continue to sleep with people they're not married to and they won't be faced and you know why I can tell you why because they're not Christ followers they're not Christ followers which God are you serving that's my question to you in this series are you serving Baal you're building your kingdom not Christ you are not a generous person your greatest motivation is not to use your resources to help people far from God come near to God are you serving this tar which is all forms of sexual immorality stop picking on the gay and lesbian how about cleaning up your own house stop sleeping with people you're not married to stop cheating on your husband or your wife God sees all those in the same category and for some of you it has been molec but I want you to know that for all of these there's forgiveness there's there's nothing that you've ever done the good news of the Gospel is that we work toward Purity for the sake of Distinction I got the I gotta quit I gotta quit because we're going to do something special listen if you've had an abortion and you've been sucked into the Theology of molec I'm sorry what you did was wrong but the Bible says God separates our sins as far as the East is from the West and I don't know what got you there I can't walk in your shoes I don't know all the life circumstances that got you there but what Jesus says to the woman at the well I don't care that's not what this is about this is about forgiveness in One Moment In Time In One Moment In Time you just turn your heart toward home and Jesus is done I'm not even imagine the god of the universe saying I'm not even going to remember how does the god of the universe not remember he says I'm going to forgive you so much that it's like God himself is wiping his memory I'm not going to remember those sins they're done if you've been serving your own kingdom all your life in one moment in time just like that the power of decision to say you know what I'm going to live for your kingdom I'm drawing a Line in the Sand and I'm going to live for your kingdom three of my favorite passages guys at the back the last three scriptures three of my favorite passages if we confess our sins he's faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness Psalm 103 as far as the East is from the West so far he's removed our transgressions from us in Colossians 1 13-14 I love this listen to this he has delivered us from the power of Darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the son he loves in whom we have Redemption through his blood the Forgiveness of sins I'm asking you to have a defining moment this weekend to say okay pastor Jeff's right I've been making fun of these guys who's serving this star but I've been serving battle all my life I'm going to stop saying their sins worse than mine and realize we're all sinners that's why we don't forgive each other folks because you think your sin is not as bad as somebody else's that's why you're merciless if God treated you the way you treat people in their sin oh my goodness you'd already be in hell I mean is that bad right we're all Sinners and I'm not saying yay I'm just saying we're all Sinners doggone it and I want anybody who struggles with any sin to be here and to walk I want to walk with you as you go through the struggle of trying to conform your life to the image of Christ you're welcome you're struggling with same sex you're struggling with transgender you're struggling with adultery you're struggling whatever it is you're not alone everybody's a sinner but listen there's forgiveness in Christ total forgiveness and and there's power there's forgiveness and there's power the spirit of God comes in and gives you power to overcome all these waiting listen here's the thing about God he's not going to force it on you that goes back to love he's not going to force it but as soon as you invite him in boom yes the dark Trinity exists it's hard Bell lowly but that dark Trinity is no match for the real Trinity my goodness the Father the Son of the Holy Spirit overpowers Darkness so easy but he'll only do it if you invite him in do you understand what I'm saying don't go away in shame to the point that you don't do anything about it just turn your heart toward home there's only one God the creator of the universe only one Jesus who atoned for our sins only one Holy Spirit who empowers us to overcome sin only one Heaven prepared for the redeemed only one way repentance through the cross so I'm asking you this weekend even though I've gone 10 minutes over time and I had so much more to say please draw the line now and say I've done this but I believe your word is truth forgive me and help me and put people around me and Empower me to live a righteous life and if those times that I fall or fail forgive me and help me keep trying till the day of redemption so on every campus I'm gonna pray right now not on every campus but I'm going to pray and then I'm going to challenge we're going to do a worship song and this this is going to be the altar here I've got somebody in my life that I want to pray for that I know can make that change if you want to come around the Altar and pray for somebody that you wish that you're praying that God would open their eyes and save them and offer forgiveness to this is your time to do that everybody's got somebody this is your time to do it and then I'm going to come back out after that first song and we're going to do something else together okay all right father thank you for your word thank you for this series thank you for reminding us that we have hope in you that no matter where we've been what we've done there's forgiveness in you the father I pray for anybody in the room right now that's struggling with any of these issues Pride arrogance greed ing their own kingdom a lack of generosity toward the things that matter those who are struggling with an addiction to pornography same-sex attraction whatever it is adultery that today would be the day they realize no matter what they've done where they've been this is the day that all forgiveness comes to the blood of Jesus that you will separate their sins as far as the East is from the west and there's no sin too great that the blood of Jesus Christ cannot cover and so father I pray this would be a time of repentance and prayer and supplication for those far from God that they may come near as my prayer in Jesus name amen [Applause] thank you let's stand here [Music] won't weeks you know there's something that happens in Scripture that just really set the church the early church the first church on fire with the gospel I mean they heard the gospel that is on the day of Pentacles and then people started coming and realizing that man I want to I'm far from God I want to be near to God what must I do and the great passage in Acts 2 Peter told them you need to repent now what does that mean repent doesn't mean that you're no longer going to be in that you all of a sudden overnight you're perfect now you have no sin no thoughts nothing evil ever in your life but it means that it's a matter of the will suddenly you come to a point in your life and you say you know what I'm going this way I'm not going this way anymore I'm going to go this way and the example I've used numerous times is like a tightrope you know if you if the tightrope is Conformity to the image of Christ if you ever watch a tightrope Walker they're carefully balanced there they've got this Rhythm they've got this thing but man they know they got to work hard at this so they're going to fall now we have a safety net and the safety net in Christianity is called Grace but you're not supposed to just leap into the net you're supposed to walk on that tightrope so if there's anything in your life that should not be there you're trying to walk you're trying to be conformed not to the world but to the image you're supposed to be transformed by the renewing of your mind and so it's a matter of the will and your intent not that you're perfect anymore but you decide or you never have been by the way but you you turn the other way and you think okay that's it I am not sleeping with somebody I'm not married to anymore that's my intent I'm gonna walk this road okay I'm having these same-sex attractions and I don't understand them but I know that if I act upon them this is not the will of God so I'm going to walk this rope and try to resist try to do what is right if you're heterosexual okay I know I'm not supposed to sleep with someone who's not my wife but you know what I got these strong strong attractions to some of the women in this group and so I'm gonna walk this tightrope with the intention of remaining faithful and true you with me it's a it's the intent of the will does it mean you're never going to slip up nope I wish but it means that your intent and your will and only Jesus knows that is to walk this road and when you fall the safety net of Grace to pick you up and you get back on the Rope but you keep going this direction here's how you know you're serious about it in the in the New Testament Jesus uh Peter on the day of Pentecost said okay if you're really serious about walking in a new way of life come be baptized [Music] show us that you're dead to your old way and you're resurrected to the new now as I've said before there's nothing magical in the water and yet there is you know what I mean it's not magical It's Supernatural there's something about your commitment to Christ in this moment that when you show when you confess him before men he confesses you before the father and the power of the Holy Spirit then enables you to walk in a new way of life those are the Apostle Paul's words you've been raised of baptism to walk in a new way of life man if you've never been baptized here you've never been baptized come on man we got people up here we're going to celebrate together aren't we Church we're gonna we're gonna say man it's fantastic and let me say again if you were baptized when you were a baby as I've said before I'm not trying to get in a theological debate with you about baptism only simply to say that when you read the book of Acts baptism was something that an individual decision they made for themselves so your mom or dad may have dedicated to you dedicated you to Christ when you were young but now it's your turn to carry on what your parents begun began and that is you say now to us in the presence of God and everybody else I've died to my old way I'm walking in a new way of life so we're going to sing and worship and continue and I want to invite you more be baptized be obedient in the First Command that Christ gives a new Christian the very first command be baptized and my spirit will come in you and will Empower you will open your eyes and Empower you to walk in the in the way of life
