The Drive to LA! Universal's HHN in Vegas? Fallout New Vegas Saloon, Desperado & Buffalo Bills

good morning from the park MGM here in Las Vegas today is checkout day we are heading into California we have some cool things we're going to see along the way so we're we're pretty much packed up here put the final touches on that let's head to California see some cool stuff all right we before we leave turn Vegas well like the strip area we are going to take a look at the progress of something all right so this is is area 15 which we did on our last trip ar your meow wolf Omega Mar in it it's amazing if you want to see that I'll link the video but we're going to look at that Universal is building a year- round Halloween Horror Nights experience and we just wanted to have a look at the progress and the construction and oh my gosh look at it first of all it's huge so the building looks massive absolutely incredibly massive so it's going to be called horror Unleashed it's going to be a year- round Halloween Horror Nights thing it's right next to Area 15 which is right over there so it's in a cool area where there's already stuff going on right there's active construction everywhere going on it's a cool shape with that like triangle in the middle there what do you think Sam yeah it's huge it's huge it looks like you could fit like 10 different houses just inside this giant building is going to have like a bar area well that's really exciting when we know more about that you know we're posting about it on our social media and stuff and we'll make videos and all that and it's just cool to see how far it's come along like it looks yeah incredible very excited for this Halloween Horror Nights woohoo and we also drove by just to see the remains of speed the ride an old abandoned roller coaster that was here in Las Vegas dismantled and has the tracks just been sitting here like this for [Music] years weird you can see the strip there in the background crazy all right let's get back on the road small look so small from here and next up we're going to visit the town of good Springs Nevada it's kind of a ghost town there are only 200 residents and it has a very famous place called p ier Saloon that's been featured in movies and music videos and TV shows there's a ton of History here and most famously It's featured in Fallout New Vegas apparently they really Embrace this connection which is super cool their website is full of information about their history hauntings all sorts of stuff apparently it's just very picturesque with lots of History so we're going to go check it out so once you get away from the Vegas Strip you start to see like the different casinos out here which we will have a look at that but first let's go to good Springs right off the highway so it said 10 minutes and it was right there but it's because it's a bit bit off the way bit off the beaten path but kind of right off the beaten path right we've been driving for a little bit haven't seen anything yet but did see a sign that said Pioneer Saloon so be a here at the end in the Hills yeah there's a bunch of like abandoned mines around here too cuz this was a big mining town and their [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Hills there it is Pioneer Salon there's also a general store parking they said is behind in like a dirt lot I can see like some homes and stuff back there okay customer visitor parking right in here yeah looks like not a lot of people were here for breakfast so we're definitely here to party we made it the pioner Sal in general store so this is the oldest Saloon in the Vegas area and in southern Nevada Hogs and horses parking only if you want to go in through the saloon door you must be 21 and up under 21 you got to go in through the General Store it's a serious business all right are you ready yep this the D room look so they really like embrac that history here look at how it kind of blinks and there's a whole history here Clark Gable The Story Goes that he used to frequent here and this is where he waited for news about Carol Lombard and her plane crash and after that happened they never saw him here again wow good Springs Historical Society pull out oh cool that's so cool the two-headed bear look it's signed yeah I bet it's signed by the peeps oh the stuff is yeah this whole little section here this is a Fallout New Vegas look at all the stuff in here [Music] wow look at all all the stuff that just take one keep an eye out for fissure sights on your map if you venture too close Scorch beets will attack the tenacity of [Music] hornets that's really cool wow look at all the like nuca Cola I might get a nuca yeah you have to oh cool this is awesome actually look the Mojave Wasteland look the more I look the more I see good Springs that is awesome like what a cool little it's like a museum and this cool stained glass window is from their Centennial 100 years that's really cool all right we got the menu they serve breakfast till noon so I think we're going to get some breakfast some coffee and then they have a whole fun facts and folklore which is so cool and then Whiskey Women Weed Wednesday here are the famous bullet holes that have been here since early on and the news articles about it it was a deadly game of cards in 1915 an outof work minor named Paul kosi was shot dead by Joe Armstrong the poker dealer who caught him cheating and and they say that Paul's ghost haunts this location see he's thought to be one of several ghosts here's the other side of the bullet holes we ordered our breakfast and after we eat we're going to check out the general store but there are so many Fallout New Vegas references everywhere those instruments hanging on strings above the bar remind me of the Haunted Mansion call in the spirits wherever they're at this is a an original cash register from the early 19 00s this pot belly stove was built with parts of a civil war Cannon and is still used to heat the saloon to this day when it gets cold out here the walls and ceilings are also original stamp tin Sears and robu got a little breakfast some eggs and classic there's a cool outside patio for eating and drinking you know and now we're going to go into the good Springs General Store and check it out it yeah cool the department had noord and theyed that never old man liver and there's some books I don't know what is playing on the radio right now but it's weird look they have some vintage sodas too all right all right that was cool we stopped in for some breakfast some coffee got to see the sites got to see a little bit of History very much like being in the game when we get home we need to watch the new TV show yeah I saw it's gotten good reviews there's like a brand new show they based on on the video games the video gam I'm excited yeah me too should be good and then we can play again all of them three New Vegas Four the original te too old yeah you said Fallout New Vegas was your favorite of Fallout games right yeah cool so it's cool to see a place that inspired a place in the game yeah it is and the game is called prospector Saloon they really really nailed it all right hot hot hot there are some homages to the former mining town there's like a little Mine Train here on a track see that and then across the way there's a sign about the mining town B Springs mining District 1957 and over here there's some more so it's like a mix of there are nice little houses there are like patched together sort of remnants very interesting rip Jeff there she is is Desperado Buffalo Bills an abandoned closed roller coaster now last year we were driving between California and Las Vegas and we pulled over just to stop and look at the Desperado coaster here at Buffalo Bills and we said we'd be back we said we want to come back in here and go inside Buffalo Bills and see what it's like and we're back we're going to go explore around a little inside look at the abandoned track of the Desperado roller coaster it hasn't run for years and even when it was running the last few years it was only running like on weekends and sporadically but at the time it was a record-breaking roller coaster Sam has an amazing history video about it let's explore around becauseof we are going to go inside the casino but first we're walking over here get just a better look at this bit of the track right here it looks so cool with this giant rock work we would have loved to have been able to ride this there hyper coaster look how it goes inside the cave that is cool it looks like it was a real wild one was this the water a log log flume oh cool they kind of intersected each other it was also a log flume also long closed oh my gosh look some of the theming from the log flume poker jimbly his last Full House he called Bill Smith a liar it's that like wild west theming yeah I bet you his hot went up and down and there's an Old Wagon back here quiet yeah really [Music] quiet bam right into the [Music] casino the smell of smoke is heavy in here The Shining sparkling Casino there's a lot of people in here gambling look at the cool theming though there's a bar in the Middle with this big tree there's actually like really cool theming in here so this casino is located in Prim Nevada which is right on the border to California so it's kind of like your last stop to gamble or your first stop to gamble as you're heading into the state wo one of the things they have in here too a Bonnie and Clyde car and they've got mannequins of them I feel like we're in like a casino theme park this is fascinating they left the broken windows and bullet holes wa look what they've got in here too the Bonnie and Clyde collection they have the they have a little timeline here so so I read that this is like a newer addition this Mexican cua's Mexican food but you can see the tram here the coaster went through the inside of the casino and it goes through this whole like Western little town bit here and then there's a tram over here too look at this Sam Desperado the largest fastest wildest tallest darnest roller coaster in the world wow we just saw a man walking on the track are they going to run it what if they said we'll run it right now for you I would say run it once and then I'll HP on Brave yeah and then here's a bit of the log flume we can see more like animatronics and theming wow it's really cool to see and it's crazy there's a bunch of places to eat in here but it looks like they're all closed like the coffee the restaurant all of that but this is it almost feels abandoned but it's not there's a ton of people in there gambling and hanging out at the bar and stuff it's so weird you can see the station games oh my gosh oh yeah this must be where you would have boarded the platform you must be 48 in to ride wow it's all just still here see this sign says fun facts length 5,843 ft lift height 209 ft drop 225 ft ride time 2 minutes 43 seconds the Desperado is one of the world's tallest and fastest roller coasters the lift Hill goes to the roof of the casino and then drops through a tunnel at speeds of close to 90 mph this is a real test of my vision cuz I am not close to this thing it's very dark the letters are tiny and it's all the way up there so if this ain't a vision test I don't know what is and here's more of the log flume it looks like the log flume would have been so cool the flumes the flumes are just right there I wonder where the ride vehicles for Desperado [Music] are Must You Must Be This Tall whoa It's just sitting here look dust it looks real Dusty yeah oh it's like covered in dust that's crazy to see you must be this tall to ride I wish we could have ridden these this is crazy just sitting here abandoned like just here look at this even though there are people in the casino when we walk back here in some parts it feels like we're the only people in here it's Eerie it's cool we both love like abandoned theme park Vibe so this is just super cool feels like we're in a movie or video game or something but it's real oh there's a little ride in here too obviously not running either well we can see why the frog hopper is closed danger this ride is deemed unsafe and is sealed out of service this wao well wow don't see that every day this big tree the theming is super cool in here super cool oh my gosh what can we do to buy thisy did they sell this in any of the shops I'll buy literally the one off the mannequin for you that is so cool we are trying to find like the shop but I feel like it's closed come on look at this it's more of the log flume look at this half a man hanging it looks like it was a shoot game it probably shot out because there's Targets on a bunch of the stuff remember yeah they like added that look there's like targets everywhere yeah oh that's scary and this side's crazy the [Music] music this is so cool to see Wild West rides you know we love it knots and Dollywood and everywhere like that there's a film here about the Bonnie and Clyde [Music] car fascinating everything is closed all the shops the restaurants the only thing that seemed open was the bar how cool must it have been to be on that log flume going through the casino and the coaster look at these guys up here rides look Wild Bill Hickok definitely reminds me of binge watching Deadwood I was like obsessed when it came out if y'all any of you guys love just the abandoned theme park Vibe then you understand why this is just so neat to see it's crazy and you know for them to probably refurb and get this thing back up and running is so expensive but it's probably just as expensive if not more to remove it so it's just there and like the whole logo is so so cool with the coaster going around it I think we're going to get the Pressed Penny this is a piece of Desperado merchandise you can still get uh so it just ate Sam's money I got so excited I me too it like turned off when I put the money yeah oh a yeah there's no one to ask so whatever we just donated that to desperado's Spirit bring it bring it back bring it back count that towards the fun oh and if you look at the ground here clearly this is where like maybe q line was the q line becoming British set up to go on up star of the desert Arena so they still have concerts here and they said that on concert nights it gets really packed they have glattus Knight coming up and a bunch of other things look it's open oh my gosh I yeah gladus night coming up and they sat on concert nights it gets packed the General Store we found an open store let's see if there's anything interesting okay some like Buffalo bells and Vegas shirts Bonnie and Clyde a dang no Desperado see her on the carpet it says BB Buffalo Bills the front desk area is so cool Prim railroad Hotel oh wow it's all wild west themed and of course Buffalo Bill a very famous figure from the American Wild West it's you know plays in a lot of popular culture and just very very interesting and we even chatted with some people and they were all really nice and very few are still here who are around during the time the coaster ran but we did hear from one person who said that it was like you would hear the screams and people would come off the side of the road like driving through and see the coaster running and come in to ride it and it must have been such a different atmosphere you hear like ah through the casino cool I'm glad we got to see it oh well that was cool that was very cool we'll come back again to stay here one day one more view of the log flum here this would have been where it either came in from outside or went outside and it's mostly dry but there's a little bit of water right there but it hasn't run for years they told us the coaster hasn't run for 8 years really really interesting all right let's hit the road and keep on going I think we'd have a real fun time staying here Sam we got to come back for it fascinating yeah thank you fascinating wow all right back on the road we go [Music] woohoo time to celebrate there is the biggest thermometer trust me it feels a lot hotter than it shows on there it says 84 feels about [Music] 184 abandoned water park W see just crazy just sitting there there were rumors well actually not even rumors they wer going to rebuild it they fire year does not look like it's going to happen look at that wow it looks just crazy covered in graffiti totally abandoned it's like of ruins wa yeah wow that's crazy in the hot sun out here like this doesn't stand a chance a mon train town over there I will link my video on our trip to Calico we really had fun this gu going the same place we're going looks like a train car oh wow it's like a subway car train car that is crazy you don't see that every day on the road gas is so expensive out here fuel I should say petrol petrol whatever you want to call it it's expensive out here five over5 military color oh those tanks oh yeah it's supp like military tanks in the world I don't know if I remember this being here last time I feel like we would have remember a c of Tanks anyway we've made it to our favorite stop between Las Vegas and Southern California Peggy Su 50s diner we discovered this place last year we love it apparently we aren't the only ones because it is packed it was definitely not this full last time the parking lot is full so hopefully you know we have an experience just as nice as last time because we had a great time Peggy Su 50s diner delicious food really cool fun inside let's check it out I guess it was there and we just don't remember but yeah huge military thing across the street tanks crazy looking it's like full on proper tank it's like on train this also feels like a video game or a movie or something this entrance here looks like a jukebox woohoo see our dinosaurs I will I will I love it it's so cute it's what every 50s diner like wants to be right Betty Boop a table for two please Betty She said Boop boopy doop there is an Incredible Gift Shop in here it is so cute and it is so packed that they gave us a pager and said uh just wait till the pager goes off remember they have all this Disney stuff in here and Betty Boop and classic stuff the most iconic Diner in every state California Peggy Sue out in yo in the middle of the blazing hot desert Peggy sues an explosion of rainbow pastels of 50s memorabilia yes oh yeah we're going to go look at the dinosaurs outside again too why not hello princesses and what's up buddy you remember us from last year give me a a fist bump yeah you remember us here it is the only jewel cheeseburger in yo California probably I mean where else is there a jewel cheeseburger I don't know get your kicks on Route 66 we've definitely hit quite a few iconic Route 66 stops on this road trip so if you missed any go back and check those videos but one day we'll just do the whole thing straight across maybe coming up well well I'll tell you later I want to give it away piggy Sue shirtt hey you yeah you come on over and let the King give you a hunk a hunk of burn wisdom well we're sitting in a different room than last time but I'll give you a glimps and tour around there's a lot of cool memorabilia in here it's it's so packed as we've seen a lot of people are on road trips right now it's just the busy season we're very happy to see Peggy Su thriving and I love the cute menu a lot of items are named after 1950 celebrities and everything we've had here has been delicious so there's so much cool memorabilia in here it's themed so just fun and wacky hopefully we're not too full for a piece of pie at the end cuz it all looks so good we got the blues Bros here lots of Maryland but so much more this is the room we were in last time it's all pink so cute and you could just spend so long pouring over every detail in here like there's different walls seem to each thing and just goes on and on super cool Elvis is definitely King here says here 35 mm film reel from the screening room projection booth of buav Vista Studio Walt Disney donated by the estate of Charles a satchel Chief projectionist Walt Disney Studio wow my order here is the Audrey hebburn an amazing sandwich giant like turkey sandwich and Sam's is the King Kong Burger we're going to dig [Music] in there are a ton of pictures of celebrities and signatures and all that Dian Keaton that's so cool look at my girls hly and Bridget I love them well they're not my girls but I love them [Music] and of course we had to take a quick look outside at their dinosaur park we have to say hi to our this guy see how he's hanging in there and they have some cool roadside dinosaurs you can see Calico back there which we love too great times and of course you know can't just be dinosaurs got to have go King Kong cool I love this kind of stuff all right that was delicious right oh yeah that shake fill me up yeah I had a little pie this everything just tastes like really fresh here and it was great yeah we better get back on the road to who military Bas Central National Training Center all [Music] and we've arrived at the claron Anaheim that's right Anaheim should be able to there's Disneyland out there somewhere off in the distance and that means we made it across the country from Florida to California but the trip continues cuz we're going to have some Southern California Adventures while we're here but for tonight we are very tired it was a very long drive day we've had a lot of very long drive days on this trip but today was long there was a ton of traffic once you get into like near La heading towards that area if you know you know it's just traffic traffic traffic nonstop so we're probably just going to like order some food get some rest tomorrow head out for some theme park fun so it's been amazing if you've missed any of the cross country road trip videos we've done so many cool things it's been Unforgettable amazing amazing trip we are just so full of joy and we're ready to celebrate here in Southern California the theme parks and the fun and the partying shall commence celebrating our cross country road trip April 20124 so again if you missed any of the videos catch
