greetings general audience of this Coppa compliant content presented in the style of a kids show but not actually aimed at children captain the solution here it's the start of the year and you know what that means my annual bath already taken care of and clearing out old videos these things expire you know every video has a half-life of relevance and I admit I don't always get to all of them in time remember this one you guys kept sending it to me it's actually a viral ad for a cyber security company what they did was filming that's what happens when they expire and it is not pleasant all right let's see if we can find something with a little more time left on it one of these have been covered way back in the day by the Mythbusters but you know what they had 13 years to do it before getting cancelled I've only been around for anybody else here that oh here's a good one the color-changing car wrap you might think the trick is achieved with simple selective colour correction of the shot but then how's the pattern print done was it meticulously match moved on to the car no because there is no car there is no remote it's just a hand holding a dummy object some solid tracking and elegant 3d modelling work by digital artist s candidate with Tobiah whose instagram is full of similar sexy vehicular concept art his work proves once again that ok compositing will seem perfect if you add enough delicious specular reflections and a bit of sound design BAM and that's how you do it I've never been a clock-watching kind of guy and not all hi-tech invention videos are fake I've sure seen a lot of these invisibility panels in my mentions they're the brain foetus of guy Kramer founder of Canadian hyper stealth biotechnology corporation which makes specialty camo gear for all sorts of armies and he must have come of age in the 80s when Auto stereoscopic post carts were making a comeback these things use lenticular lens arrays to directionally magnify slightly different parts of the surface they're attached to depending on viewing angle they could show certain slices of an interlaced picture to your left eye and other slices to your right creating a 3d illusion normally the focal plane of lenticular lenses is their own backside where the picture is printed but if there is no picture and they're placed at a distance the results can be wild they might magnify objects flip them or blur them and isotropically like the motion blur filter in Photoshop also known as directional blur in After Effects they're the same effect but they must never be called the same thing never now personally I don't see what's so special or patentable about simple and ick Euler sheets you can get all sorts online and it kind of works especially if you use a horizontally continuous background in your demonstrations but I guess mr. Kramer's brewing his own special kinds of lenses and playing around with different lenticels and angle of view to create some impressive results that will surely be able to sell to some military industrial complex for a million loonies Wow well that's just not fair that was on time what do you want from me you know it's just a little irritating as I work to raise the level of video fakery discourse online requests for ghosts and crypto zoological creatures still appear in my inbox like this thing from a while back the dolly I mean dotty means dobby sighting everyone was obsessed with this surveillance video but not many bothered to track down the source cuz like most trustworthy things this one came from Facebook from a post by this lady let's call her Vivian bow mess now to me the subject of her video looks just like a skinny little kid with his shirt pulled up onto his head doing a really goofy walk down the driveway but miss bomas insists she has no idea what this entity captured on her porch cam could possibly be there does seem to be a kid in her household that's about the right size and friends in the comments asked whether it might be him but miss bomas is adamant that it definitely couldn't be him or any other kid because there aren't any in their neighborhood he is walking from the house and if I turn up the volume I can hear a woman's voice if this video didn't conspicuously cut right there might we see miss bull mess walk out right behind him both get in the car and drive off to sports ball practice admittedly that's not as exciting as owning a viral video of a cryptid that gets on the news but maybe she is telling the truth she really had no idea that her own flesh and blood was outside without supervision stomping around half-naked in the middle of the night and she'd rather not admit it to herself and believe it's a monster on the recording so which is it mrs. bowl mez are you telling tall tales for internet fame or are you just a sad mother I'm sorry that's a terrible thing to say cuz sometimes I I get carried away because you know I I just care about truth and science so much and it's not about cheap laughs at all ah okay okay I know I need to work on this I got to take it easier on the people around me like friends and interns and such Alan get in here yes captain Oh Ted Danson cosplay again what no just I know I don't say it enough or at all but good job and stuff just in general all right enough okay let's go get out of here go go go go go go look I can understand how when I make a clip of myself punching Zach king in the face people might think I dislike the guy but nothing could be further from the truth he's great I just hate how good his work is sometimes he's made many mind-boggling allusions but not as annoying to an expert's eye as the graffiti gag from the past year because it's only kind of explainable yeah I know it's projection mapping and that the real ladder is quickly swung in and out at certain moments even the corridor crew figured that much out there I go insulting people again I'm sorry they're cool guys their VFX reaction phases are very natural but anyway how does the shot transition at the end from Zach on ladder to know Zach a projection map ladder and security guard all in one continuous handheld move at first I thought maybe all this shaking is artificial and there's some motion control cinematography involved but tracking the shot reveals the camera makes arcing motions and I don't think zach is using a frigging bolt crane the only moment the camera isn't moving through space is right here as he looks away from the security guard and starts to climb somehow the wall must already be from the security guard stake projection mapped onto the wall of Zach's take and the ladder is textured onto a 3d mock-up of the ladder to give it realistic parallax until the moment it's transitioned into a projection map on the wall they must have used the wide enough lens to how I'm sorry I can do better you guys took time to make these requests so I got to work faster [Music] [Applause] students performing coordinated human mosaic moves oh it's a real art form Hans but this video has been slightly sped up making it look way more impressive you wouldn't know about the double bottle cap flick Mostafa well the guy who posted it is called 3d sage he does 3d modeling printing an animation I think you can manage a couple of CG bottle caps and look at how they spontaneously appear and run of his fingers Oh a guy using his upper body strength to pretend to walk on air it's a thing people can do Robert but you already knew that you follow it up saying I am nearing 40 and I'm just jealous of how fit he is sorry I have absolutely no idea what that's like I mean uh this is real because people have been doing smoke tricks like this for seven thousand years get with the program Emil is it just me or is this fake wind turbine explosion really easy to trace back to the Instagram post by the motion designer who created it come on unknown user and ostrich chasing cyclists it's real of course it's real why wouldn't it be ostriches run they like to run oh I guess it's fine this is my countdown I control it there are time limits in life that we can't postpone and that's exactly why we should give ourselves deadlines it's good practice for the big one but maybe I've been unrealistic with mine let's try this again there that should be plenty of time to have a few adventures and there's no need to obsess over it let's just keep it in the back of our minds it's been an interesting decade I better prepare for the next one remember love with your heart use your head for everything else captain disillusion [Music] you [Music]
