Great video, would have been better without the fucking music through the whole goddamn thing
What I expected: A heroic story of humanity coming together
What I got: me wanting to destroy the human who thought that music was a good idea
These guys experienced war in a way that later generations (myself included) can't fully appreciate because the nature of combat itself has changed. I was a soldier for 12 years and found myself in some relatively dangerous situations, but nothing that compares to an average day for guys like this.
He says the medic loaded him and (a wounded German? Or the medic himself?) up and brought them to an American aid station. It's incredible to hear about such compassion and bravery on that scale.
Pacific theater version: "We found a dead GI who must have gotten wounded and left behind. The Japanese had tortured him to death, cut him open, and nailed him to a palm tree. From then on, we executed every wounded Japanese soldier we found."
I love the video, but how hard is it to make the voice track mono? the hard left panning is driving me nuts
for anyone who can't understand him or can't hear him due to the background music:
I tried to get through it, I'll try again tomorrow on mute/CC. That song + Right Channel voice only drove me up a wall..........but I should be in bed so I admit I'm cranky and this man deserves many many many all the chances to hear his story.
The cheesy fucking music ruined it
I’m in no way trying downplay all of your complaints about the music, but I was so into what this vet had to say I didn’t even notice the music the first time I watched it. If you enjoyed his story, go watch HBOs Band of Brothers and The Pacific.
