Big Trees in the natural that Adam and Eve tried to use could not cover their shame and nakedness but believing in the one whom the Torah and the prophet speaks of Yeshua Jesus and keeping God's word means that we don't have to be ashamed when we stand before him we need to be clothed in messiah's righteousness and the word of God one of the amazing things about God's word is that it was written in two languages Hebrew and Greek and that both those languages are alphanumeric in the Hebrew Bible there are no Roman numerals numbers are written by means of letters that means every letter has a numerical value so every word has a numerical value and often times of the numerical value of words reveal deeper insights and connections that give deeper perspective into the scripture we don't determine or make Doctrine based upon the numbers but rather it gives us a deeper and richer perspective on what's going on in the scriptures in this episode of The Chosen we've seen Nathaniel sitting under the Fig Tree diligently seeking to understand everything in the Torah and the prophets how they point to the Messiah Lord oh God the Hebrew word for fig tree is and it actually has a numerical value of 456 and there's a deep mystery that is revealed and a connection that is important to understand in the numerical value of the Hebrew word fig tree this was done for you if Daniel thought his life was over he wanted to be an architect and dreamed of building synagogues houses of worship do not hide your face from me in the day of my business but when he failed he thought his dream was dead [Music] 456 is also the numerical value of the phrase Melech hamashiach bow King Messiah comes wow isn't it amazing that the numerical value of figuring Hebrew is the exact same numerical value of the phrase King Messiah comes the very thing that Nathanael was Desiring is connected in the numbers and we like Nathanael should desire to see Messiah come do not hide your face from me [Music] do you see me shortly after Philip is called by Yeshua Jesus to follow him he finds Nathanael and says we found the one that Moses in the Torah and also the prophets wrote about Yeshua of Nazareth Nazareth the son of Joseph John 1 45 Nathaniel he's the one that one the one who Moses foretold and the prophet said would come no what the one Jesus of Nazareth son of Joseph [Laughter] can anything good come out of Nazareth come and see oh a little dump on a craggy Hilltop serious honestly Philip saying that one is a Nazarene is practically yes just come and see Nazareth was a tiny and seemingly insignificant place it seemed crazy to fill up that the Messiah would come from Nazareth how can anything good come from there the use of the phrase good is also ironic good connects back to Creation everything God made was good Yeshua was coming to restore the good through bringing about New Creation transformation that's why it's so ironic that Nathanael could not at first perceive The Good the very thing that Yeshua came to do in fact Jesus went about doing good as we read in Acts 10 38 you know how God anointed Yeshua of Nazareth with the ruach the Holy Spirit and power how he went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil because God was with him again it's so ironic that Yeshua would immediately see the good in Nathanael when Nathanael could not see the good and Jesus and where he came from your whole life you've wanted to serve God to meet the Son of God the king of Israel I promise he will not regret it and if you do I'll refund your misery they know you you don't mess around you will want to join him [Music] he's like no Rabbi who ever has been or will be [Music] I've never seen you talk like this I'm still hung up on the Nazareth [Music] come and see come and see this is a common expression used by rabbis to denote something new important or difficult Rabbi well this is a good night you know who stands beside you there this is my friend Nathaniel yes the truth teller I'm sorry manners often deceitful and Israel began with Jacob a bit of a deceiver yes yes but one of the great things about you as you are a true Israelite and home there is no deceit a true Israelite there is nothing false in him but what does Yeshua mean by the statement think about Philip's initial statement we found the one that Moses in the Torah and also the prophets wrote about this tells us that Nathanael like Philip had a passion for God's word he had spent serious time studying the scripture to find out what it said about the Messiah truth is the opposite of falsehood his hunger for truth about the Messiah was probably one of the reasons why Messiah said there was nothing false in him I believe Yeshua was saying Nathaniel was a person of Integrity meaning that his beliefs his words and his actions all aligned he was an Israelite in whom there was no guile now guile can mean nothing false or no deceit the Hebrew word here is near ma Miramar and he who is important because it connects back to Jacob it's important to understand a bit about the Jacob story because there is a key connection between Jacob and guile remember how Jacob tricks his father into giving him the blessing of the firstborn when Esau comes to his father Isaac for the blessing in Genesis 27 this is what it says when Esau heard his father's words he shouted with an intensely bitter grown bless me too Abba bless me too my father then he said your brother came deceitfully and took your blessing then he said is this why he's named Jacob since he tricked me twice already my Birthright he's taken look now he's taken my blessing then he said haven't you saved a blessing for me Jacob means supplanter or Deceiver Jacob used the wrong means to get what was rightfully promised by God to him he used mirma deception and guile but in the end God transformed Jacob into Israel the name Israel can be interpreted several ways it can mean one who wrestles with God and overcomes again this is Nathanael the one who is seeking and wrestling to discover who the Messiah truly is but of course there is more Israel can also be read as yahshar El the one whom God made straight God changes Jacob's name to Israel to signify that God transformed Jacob into an upright individual who seeks to follow the path of the Creator who is called in scripture by the name yashar El The God Who is upright this means Jacob is no longer walking the Crooked path of guile and deceit mirma but is going to be yashar El upright and straight with God and with others the one who is upright in God's sight will be blessed the Psalms tells us and the upright the yasharim will dwell in your presence Psalm 140 verse 13. it's for all these reasons Yeshua calls Nathanael a true Israelite in whom there is no guile he is the one who has sought the Lord and has been changed for the good by the one who came to do good he's not the deceptive Jacob but Israel the one who has been transformed thank you there are even more similarities between Jesus and Nathanael Jesus finds and reveals himself to Nathanael like the Lord revealed himself to Jacob Jacob comes to the realization that God was in this place but he didn't know it in the same way that Nathanael comes to a similar yet even more shocking realization that God was in this person Yeshua but he did not know it at first what is this how do you know me I have known you long before Philip called you to come and see don't look at him look at me when you were in your lowest moment and you were alone and did not turn my face from you I saw you under the fig tree [Music] rubber there it is you are the son of God the king of Israel what's so significant about the fig tree that it changed everything for him and opened his eyes to the reality of who Yeshua Jesus was Torah is often compared to a fig tree the rabbis say just as one constantly finds figs when he approaches the tree and they do not all ripen at the same time some ripen early and some ripen later always some available for eating so will one always find a new taste new fruit when he is studying the Torah in fact some believe gathering in figs in some Jewish sources came to mean studying and so traditionally this is the place under the Fig Tree where Rabbi studied the Torah of the law with their talmadine with their disciples and it's also believed by some rabbis that the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil was actually a fig tree but where does this come from Rabbi nehemia maintains that it was a fig tree because the Torah tells us that after the sin of eating from the Tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil what did Adam and Eve do they sewed together fig leaves and made coverings for themselves fig trees in the natural that Adam and Eve tried to use could not cover their shame and nakedness but believing in the one whom the Torah and the prophet speaks of Yeshua Jesus and keeping God's word means that we don't have to be ashamed when we stand before him we need to be clothed in messiah's righteousness and the word of God but of course there's even more the Fig Tree is associated with the peace and prosperity of the Messianic Kingdom isn't that amazing this is what we read in the prophets Micah chapter 4 he will judge between many peoples and decide for Mighty Nations for off they will beat their swords into plowshares and their Spears into pruning shears Nations will not lift up sword against Nation nor will they learn War again but each man will sit under his Vine and under his fig tree the Fig Tree represents the Messianic Kingdom the very thing that was at the heart of what Nathanael was studying and what it is that he was Desiring [Music] it makes sense that the Fig Tree represents torah's study the Fig Tree represents the Messianic Kingdom being established on Earth as it is in heaven and why Yeshua would have astounded Nathanael when he said I saw you under the Fig Tree because this is what Nathaniel was studying and what his heart was Desiring above everything else but of course there is even more because I said to you I saw you under the victory you believe [Laughter] you are going to see many greater things than that like Jacob you are going to see Heaven open and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the son of man because I told you I saw you under the Fig Tree you believe you will see greater things than that and he said amen amen I tell you you will see Heaven open and angels of God going up and coming down on the son of man in order to understand what Yeshua is saying we need to understand Jacob's dream in the Book of Genesis Jacob happened upon a certain place and spent the night there for the sun had set so he took one of the stones from the place and put it by his head and laid down in that place and he dreamed all of a sudden there was a Stairway a ladder in Hebrew set up on the earth and its top reach into the heavens and behold angels of God going up and coming down surprisingly Adonai was standing on top of it that's from Genesis 28 11-13 on his way to haran Jacob had a life-changing encounter he dreamed of a ladder standing earthward and his top reached the heavens the latter originated in heaven and was sent to Earth by the Lord himself this Messiah Yeshua as we read in John 1 is the latter that comes down from heaven so that we might encounter the Lord the latter is a vehicle of Revelation the means by which Heaven and Earth connect and communicate the Hebrew word for latter Islam has the same numerical value as Sinai and voice in Hebrew which is 130. why is this important God's voice 130 was heard at Sinai 130. so the place Mount Sinai 130 is where God's voice was spoke to the people 130 through the Torah given at Sinai 130 God's voice 130 can still be heard when Adam and Eve sinned they broke the connection between Heaven and Earth this connection would be be restored through Jesus who is the latter the sulam believing in him listening to his voice and walking with him will lead you to new spiritual Heights Jesus Yeshua has the power to turn you from a Jacob or even an Esau into an Israel a prince or princess of God that Daniel thought he wanted to be an architect and dreamed of building synagogues but when he failed he thought his dream was dead and that his life was pretty much over what he didn't realize is that by God's grace he was actually felling up his failure was foundational for the Fulfillment of his future his failure led to his promotion even though he couldn't see it or believe it at first look at what Proverbs says the righteous fall seven times and get back up again our failures could become trampolines the down bounce is necessary to go even higher like Nathaniel God has your best at heart but we must learn to have faith and trust so like Nathanael even our fears and our failures will Propel us into our future hey I'm at and thank you for watching the TBN Israel YouTube channel we
