Joseph okay make yourself comfortable right there already nice how's your vision it's good oh it's good okay you wear glasses or contacts no excellent um you work a lot on a computer you the last job I had was and it just ended uh-huh okay do you ever get ice cream from that I think I have from the computer not so much from the iPad or but sometimes I get tired of it I'm not just pull down that's good yeah you know your your own instincts are your best indicator sometimes when it's time to put it away um what comes from the phone or a tablet it's a blue light okay so we're seeing an industry a lot of strange you know diversions of vision based on that light okay yeah and what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna admit a small amount of pulsating light into either of your eyes just with this okay one at a time what this does is it has a blue light tint to it so what this is going to do is simulate an hour's worth of screen time okay in each eye okay so just look at me Oh games gonna hold that there right I'm gonna hold it here get me right okay good okay so let's see where we were over here okay I'm gonna start closer okay so you can just see you know this still is the best test that we had up mmm how far away was this computer screen when you were working about here here yeah okay and how is this line for you to look at EDF czp yes okay good I'm gonna pull it back just a little bit you notice any string from that light or anything no just saying like this eyes seems a little too high or like like dried or something that's what happens with that light that mean we won I'm gonna hang it up back here okay sometimes the distance helps a lot of people can see it when they're close up but far away it's harder to see it looked all blurred so good all of it looks blurred that'll happen all the way from the grain all the way up to the top yep okay um so I want you to ask Ann you read this line right here the third one uh for French I read the L okay which did cuz this you got two of them say that again you wish stick cuz then you had two oh my gosh you only got one stick oh my god already seen two yes that's it's a distance oh my god yeah so scary it's it's happening to a lot of people oh my god the whole life yeah oh that don't I wouldn't even worry about it though it's it's you never have that much put in one you know bang oh my goodness so you saw blurring a ghosting and uh it was to stay look like two sticks that's what's happening a lot with that light the blue light will it put in too long you're gonna start to see double from far away so okay which one of these lines is the easiest one for you to read oh my god am i tripping out look like you got on two tries in two belts okay you know what that is that's a normal that's a double vision and to tears well see yeah that'll that'll clear up don't even worry about it it's a distance thing Oh your eyes will return to normal in about 45 minutes okay so he's probably well you just relax and I'll be right back in a moment okay okay all right let me ask you a question here if I great if I bring this chart any closer you know just in this realm I'm saying you're not I don't see anything does that clear it up yes I'll just saw here why would that be like that like you didn't have on two pairs of glasses no I have I have reading glasses that I wear in the morning my eyes changed throughout the day so I'll put on reading glasses in the morning and then at night I just want what they not double I mean I just I just thought it's hard for me too oh really yeah I just can't believe what I just saw it was just like yeah it was really kind of unreal yeah but when you get that much light inside your eyes in such a quick interval it causes the Carbonaro effect on your vision that is correct have you ever seen what I was driving yeah like you had two tires on it I could see the two clips and two belts and yep I had to spend an entire afternoon with my assistant who had four sets of Ives you know for years it was really hard but um okay but uh what happens is when that much light is pulsated into your eye in that quick with duration your vision can experience the Carbonaro effect have you heard of that before the Carbonaro effect is the name of a hidden-camera magic TV show okay where a magician tries to do an illusion in front of somebody to see if it really looked like an illusion or if it was really happening well that's what it looked like that's what it look like it's really happening it looked like is that what was happening it was visible what if I told you that my name is Michael Carbonaro and you're on my TV show right now you gotta be kidding I'm not kidding you yes you want no I'm not I'm on a TV show but I'm not you are what are you serious I'm serious you are pulling my little pulling your leg a little bit I was pulling your eyes a little bit there oh my god I was doing magic with my glasses time as a chart oh my oh my goodness I've seen you like I knew I'm not losing

I liked the video but it isn't an illusion, it's just a prank. No one is seeing anything that isn't there.

edit: It is an illusion in the way that any magic trick is an illusion I suppose, but if that was the intent of this sub then it would be full of videos of magic tricks and optical illusions, instead of almost 100% optical illusions.

Even though this wasn't a real eye exam, I got the same ASMR I get when I go to the doctor. Also, when he had two ties/belts/etc. I lost my shit. Awesome video.
