The Buffalo Trace Lineup Blind Ranked!

welcome back we're the bourbon Jones in frame bourbon jungle I am probably with in theory audio don't make promises that is real wood and I have knocked it so there today we're gonna do another we got 10 whiskeys we're gonna score them they're all blind they're blind to me they're double blind to Sean there's Buffalo Trace in this lineup there's Ricky poured some liquid on the table and I just walked in and goes bubbles racing here it smells like it so [Music] um okay before we get in the video though really quick check out birdmanjunk.com shop for new merch and stuff like that they're shirts I think there's some hats left at this point in time um The hasher Limited church or not all that stuff is going to be there for three weeks and that's gonna be pulled down in April every ten dollars that you spend on bourbonjunk.com shop on merch not on tickets but on merch gets you an entry and we're doing a you get one person wins full creative control to a barrel of virtue whiskey our whiskey you can finish it you can toast it drink you can Single Barrel out whatever you want to do it's up to you age it till we die as long as we have some like ability to do what you want when you can't put it in space we can't put in space we can't put it on someone's car in Egypt uh like don't don't think no reason but yeah need to say you'll have full creative control and you'll get product when it's dumped and all that you'll get samples you'll get to pick one of the virtue barrels and then that will be your Barrel will put your name on it and then you know you'll have creative control over the rest of its life until it's bottled so that is what we're giving away for ten dollars per entry you got three weeks and then we're picking the name and then realistically that process could be as long as you want it to be in theory so today I'm not if you guys already know what this is because there was a thumbnail in theory Sean's not gonna know till we're done we're gonna do all these blind for Sean okay now I know what bottles are in here I have no idea the order what we're gonna do is we'll both drink them we'll both give comparison score yeah zero to 100 from each of us we'll add those together with a little practical math we'll move on to the next one top three we'll blind at the end with the same score we'll do an actual ranking so even like last time the second highest score actually was our favorite after we put the our top three together sometimes the lineup matters so sample one that smells good I told Ricky go poor light there's 10 glasses that's most fantastic that's this is a good one that's really great though I love everything inside that whiskey could be a small batch uh I don't know what else in there but I feel like an English Channel in there I that tastes like about 100 proof I feel like I'm gonna have to skew my guess is a little bit here like not my guess am I like scoring of course because it's like yeah I know with bubble Trace in here that's usually pretty good for me sure so there's probably some good bottles in here for this one yeah I'm going man it smells amazing though like the on the nose is phenomenal I'm gonna give that a 69. I'm gonna grab the back I'm calling 74. okay and I'll do the math right now every now and then practical math like carrying a one the only thing that's hard for you yeah all right sample two I mean 143 is already doing it for me that smells like nothing that smells like air okay oh it's like actual air if you breathe really hard it's just a little ethanol like raw ethanoly nothing wrong with it I'm gonna give that a 44. that's actually really great if you don't want to focus on it do you have 44 yeah it's just I'm just right that's a 50. okay it's just literally the most middle of the road 94. you got that one you don't have to put the things above the other number whoa that smells like really Woody whoa okay I know the bottle's in here and I couldn't tell you what this is like I wasn't ready for that that's a proofing gal holy [ __ ] um red tastes amazing but my body was not ready for it is that 150 there's nothing in here that high buddy that tasted like fire it smells good and I like it but it's like overwhelmingly warm second drink I got less out of it and I just got more heat no sense I'm gonna go 60. you know what did I I'm going 72. I'm going 75. oh my God one of my favorite ones thus far 97. this is very interesting oh this is just went a very different way all right which one are we on seven okay so seven Smalls right this does smell really good this is super red fruit Ford that actually gives me uh the purple grape really I got a lot of um raspberry off of it I like this is this this nose this is it this is what you just walked in the room and smelled you know what I mean is your rare that maybe I like this one a lot this has been one of my favorites realistic oh that's nice yeah that's like an 80 for me and it has a little finish honestly not complex though at all huh and it fades real quick 65. really it goes away too fast I like that everything in the palette I like though you might as well call that one a come and go okay eight oh damn are we getting a big boy land yeah thank god dude Super Mario movies out today what is it holy [ __ ] I've never been more excited for a movie in my life yeah dude okay this smells amazing here we go so is it a good swirl um oh holy taste anything like it smells it's my favorite okay hear me out powdered sugar donuts brown sugar though somewhere mixed in the freaking the cake aspect oh that's hot well of course it's hot buddy it smells hot I am about died on that one but so far that is definitely my favorite 92. oh wow yeah one drink too everybody knows the rules that's phenomenal Brown hot the most brown sugar some would say you're saying 92. yeah that is the most brown sugar and that you know what I'll just match it I'll give this that's a 92. literally blows the doors off everything 184 that's number one for sure we need to put that out there right now that's fantastic okay which one was that eight yep put on the nine we're on a nine and I also smelled pretty good in the kitchen Niner in there yeah a double knife oh oh we went back to back on the big boys yeah she did okay well 207 on the nose if I'm at my own that's my score 207 on the nose this is the best nose of the whole time though so far not even close and I really really liked eight 97. that's amazing oh there's a little suck in there for me fruitier a little more floral like is it like a little tart green apple in there or something would you say black cherry I'll add five to it I think 97. oh I'm gonna give that a 99. yeah that one's the best one four down 196. oh that one's so freaking cool yep that math works out ten oh my gosh okay okay I'm gonna be honest coming off of nine but what you gotta understand is it came off nice still smells actually really great so which is kind of crazy if you think about it this is perfectly sweet it's uh just the ripe as strawberry like really yummy do you think this is a little grainy what yeah it is light it might have just because I'm coming off nine I'm gonna give it another run but I get some grain units in there you're not oh okay then I don't I don't think I have to that's weird it has to be the comparison it has to it tastes really youthy it has to be the comparison between the two I actually like let's learn a lot um I'm gonna give this away higher than you 38. 61. I really like the youth you note there dude I'm starting to lean into that younger whiskey note so I love it eight nine obviously we got 196 184 and then it's the one that I didn't like that much you loved 145 was number seven and then number one was actually a 143. so maybe we do it with four let's do it with four because of let's do it for because of the fact that this one was super early yes we might have given it a little higher of a score one so we have 1789 one smells amazing now it smells better than it did the first time see I give that a higher score now like without a doubt I already I already scored this one I'm already good is that 82. you said A2 I'm gonna give it 80. so it's at 162. that is better this now that we've acclimated to all these seven it smells worse now was this one like that much the first time yeah this is the one you liked a lot more than me it's like honey I bet that's weeded 75. 52. 137 eight nine are built very different Christ I'm it's not if we're being completely honest 89 are not the same as it's just a nine for me I don't think I need to replace eight nine realistically are you not doing 90. I get a 92. 90 all set so it's going to be a 180. and then nine I I don't even have to drink 900 yeah it's perfect all right mine is perfect in this lineup nine is perfect bottom of the list we have number two with 94 points I didn't see that coming I didn't either when you said youth I actually thought this this would be number 10. didn't see that okay huffle Trace dead last then we have a tie between number four and number six oh wow okay well I'm just gonna hand you one of those I'm gonna imagine and this is the other one small batch why isn't the ACT coming either what was that one uh they're both at 97's what number uh poor was this or either four or six I'm sorry you're holding it um then we have sorry this is kind of on the Fly everyone uh number five that just be well or antique 107. well that makes sense does it the next highest should be number three this was the most disappointing the whole thing you and me didn't love that that's a 12. buddy when we drank that I was like that can't be that because it doesn't have any like you know all right next one no thank you I'm done with this video number three was if you don't know those things about the whole Trace products got that okay um I'm just trying to clarify okay so tell me what to move okay so it would actually sorry this is loosened fast with the scoring system um so number 10 had 99 points so it should have shifted um number five up so it should be right here number three should be right there yep really those blends there's Bland tones it beat it did it beat these three which these two actually surprised me it surprised me ill wears this high without a doubt look mixed egg a little bit better Stack's coming out a little bit better it's coming up all right all right yep I didn't see that one so then we have number seven Rock Hill Farms good for it and then number one is that Single Barrel yeah that makes sense uh no I don't actually know which one of these won number eight would be the next one and then number nine is number one I'll hand to number eight no I'm good I swear to God number nine aka the winner George C stag 2022. and it wasn't even close if I'm being honest that's the order here you go Buffalo Trace in a scoring system wow yeah this makes sense and this makes sense these two make sense to me this does not this does not uh realistically because you would think this would be a little high like in here I can't believe Rock Hill beat it because this is not like you did bad I know what's our favorite one it's not like it did bad I know this is also rapid fire I know but that's what makes it honest there's no you have zero bias in this whole thing so I will wreck you um you know when you started putting these up and this was still on the floor I'm like we're gonna do it again I know it's not here but I don't know where it just completely was holding my like pen over the score um sorry everyone that's what the Buffalo Trace lineup looks like blind oh this kind of makes me sad I didn't you know what the bottle I now that we're at the end of the video bottle I didn't put in there Elmer oh dead last there's no Elmer no not that which one did we we thought 10 was youthy and that was blind that was like six years I just I just remembered that that was the one that we both agreed had that weird I think we also came up with this though we did even with like two weeks 15-year Mash Bill one into like a six year match build too okay but that's a huge swing we had WLW and George she said and then this was still great yeah that's true which is crazy this in this what this shows for me personally in this whole lineup is there a single barrel is the best value of any of the Buffalo Trace products yeah because it secondary value is completely normal this was number one right yep yeah I think like we started off so dang strong yeah we really did yeah and then like we got flat whiskey flat whiskey flat whiskey like comparatively that's wild I I will say I'm happy about this because I love this so much every time I see one of those I'm just 100 it
