THE BRONZE PRICE! Total War Saga: Troy - Achilles Campaign #2

[Music] hello and welcome everyone lahat here with part two of my achilles let's play total war saga troy so opening things up we left them last time we just conquered the settlement of hysteria hopefully that's a quick way to pronounce it if not feel free to correct me down in the comment section speak in the comment section loads of you guys have been asking whether you can rename units in total wall saga troy yes you can so feel free to start giving me some of your name suggestions this episode and next episode and plan will be part four i've gone through achilles army and added in some of your unit name suggestions then going forward throughout the rest of the campaign every time we get a full 20 stack force i'll add in more of your unit name suggestions also just want to say a big thanks to everyone tuned in to part one glad so many of you are enjoying the series so far so let's see what the game's got in store for achilles today the plan is to push east and finish off the elephants take their last settlement of cyrenthos and then we'll probably keep on pushing east uh down the the landmass here and go after the abantes uh i do want to go up here and take fairy at some point but we've currently got a non-aggression pact with the uh magneti so we can't do that just yet so we might as well keep pushing east uh for the time being with achilles uh we're gonna get rid of archer boy cotton but i think i'm gonna rename you button for when we uh when we bring you back just because that's way too tempting i keep wanting to call you button there we go gold button oh yeah bye button you'll be back though i think you just call down for five turns yeah we'll be back archer skirmisher uh we might bring him back to sort out public order if uh we have some some trouble looting and occupying although maybe we should just occupy going through some of these settlements we'll see we'll see what it's like when we get there we need to do some repairing here to the city to the uh to the town fortified town uh lumber warehouse i'm gonna get rid of that probably build the public order building or the uh influence is rising yeah public order uh happiness building i should say that's probably what we're going for achilles we've got some special recruitment to do the junior runners and fitness spears we've got two of each available uh for completing a mission i think it was that gave us those um you guys did say the 15 spears be wary they cost bronze as well as food and currently uh 42 bronze uh is what we're getting per turn so we'll probably need to do a uh a treaty with someone to get enough to cover them i am going to merge up some of my space although we'll get rid of the young spears so we can bring these guys in although probably don't need to recruit them just yet we'll wait until we're at full strength with the rest of them rest of our falls we're gonna do some merging and replenishment otherwise yeah we instantly get them uh so we don't need to uh get them just yet save us save some resources for the moment so let's merge up some spears i can't actually recruit any more spears here so i don't want to kill off too many we've got four slots free let's merge you two hungry for action and you guys come on mermaids there we go so those guys will be fully replaced in two turns so yeah i'll probably wait two turns and then we'll push we'll recruit those extra units but let's see if we can do some bartering to get us some bronze we need to find someone with some bronze what do we always go to sparta every time we open up the uh i guess it has to default someone but what but why sparta specifically anybody know it's the same in 3k uh bronze bronzer i come in on rather you've got 332 bronze odysseus 412 that's looking pretty good what about you guys you guys have got 300 value that is less than usual yeah let's get a good deal agreement i would like a hundred oh what do you actually what can i offer you that's the thing you're good for food gold is what you want i'm not getting any gold income um how much food am i getting 1857 okay oh wow okay yeah you're actually pretty desperate for for food there well let's no let's go for a thousand um so for five turns we'll still be getting 800 that's okay and let's just push this up get as much bronze as possible for five turns it's gonna be great oh boy can we push that any higher maximum haggling got one yet 241 beautiful thank you decline that that's all good and do we need anything else can we do anything else we can upgrade that next turn stone so yeah as much as i want to get the guard house uh over here because i am wary of these guys potentially going to war with me actually but i'm guessing while i've got that non-aggression we should be safe i need to make sure we've got that once we cancel that not aggression not yet um yeah we'll just leave that we could just upgrade the loggers cam let's do that and then i think that's all we need to do let's check our missions laying the foundations construct any building um yeah the port's gonna be done so that'll trigger that one good and what's his uh uploaded achilles what's his mood 40 percent okie dokie and we've finished up the living legend that's what we got it for living legend that's what we unlock those units from i'm pretty sure should say in our events actually no i can't remember that's fine ignore all that in the turn although maybe we should look at religion divine will um we can't do another prayer for growth and happiness two turns any other prayers that we want recruit rank of all units i don't think that works for special units because we're not technically well we are still recruiting them but yeah in terms of divine will you guys were saying that for kind of the achilles place over there that all of the gods are good it just depends on your play style and essentially kind of the strengths of your faction you want to sort of lean into seeing as we've got um a lot of spears athena buffs our spears at the the second tier mentor of heroes so if we go for a temple of athena and then a hecka tomb we can boost that up uh to get that towards the 300 celebrated and uh priestesses if you send them to one of your settlements they will uh give you more favor to to the god that they uh that they're from that temple as it were um so that could be a good way to get enough favor with uh athena that's what we'll probably go with temples wise ares as well because that buffs sword and axe units also useful for us so ares athena um we don't really want to go for apollo i don't want to go for archers really although if you had that first level the first priestess we recruit could actually be plus three which wouldn't be terrible uh we'll probably go for either zeus or hera for our missile unit buffs ereda slingers and zeus does javelins i'm thinking javelins so yeah probably zeus ares and a theme of the main ones we're gonna focus on for a little bit i don't think we need to pray let's end the turn definitely get through three more turns potentially today or at least we won't spend like half an hour on just one turn it's always the way with a new let's play though that first turn uh laying foundations lovely we've got more stone good thriving settlement upgrading so well that's exactly what i'm about to do game you read my mind there we go do we have enough for the guard house no we could we could barter although if we just wait five turns we'll have that as long as they don't attack me how much longer have i got on that cooldown i'm hoping or i can cancel it five turns yeah i think it's i think it's 10 turns total you've got to wait otherwise you take a reliability hit which we don't really want so yeah five times then i think we have to wait another 10 turns before we can declare war on them because otherwise it will count as declaring war soon after canceling a treaty and everyone will hate us and reliability gets wrecked so yeah we've basically got then a total of 15 turns we need to keep achilles busy which going this way seems to be a good a good distraction then let's go cause some trouble in the east uh public order building is the uh vineyard and we'll get spies from that we could go to chiefen's hall for influence from the envoy but if we are trending towards indignant then we'll get uh oh no actually we'll get more happiness we might want thee oh yeah yeah scrap what i just said we'll go we'll go for the chieftains hall seeing as our influence is probably gonna take a hit so i imagine we're gonna hit that with just staff you know just pushing towards enemy settlements taking them as we can pop these guys in soon we need to make sure we've actually got enough bronze to put they need all they need 300 didn't see that i was just focusing on their upkeep we might need to do a tr we're getting 283 but we've only got one more turn before i was gonna push these guys need two turns but i don't wanna wait too much longer otherwise they're gonna get strong again over there um can i see what they've got let's see as long as i can get back there by the numbers just oh they've got one that's fine not a chance that we go for maximum replenishment i think we should probably push next turn uh we might we'll do a barter next turn then keep an eye on that keep an eye on that everything else upgrading and turn god look at that two turns in the space of a few minutes much faster who are you salience you are you want me bronze you are 183 bro you are having a giggle no i need my bronze no no no no no i i really don't need your wood i've got 800 per turn no i mean i appreciate it's the bronze age and everybody wants that bronze the bronze price but not today uh firm but fair achilles nice but spent multiple turns instead without happiness that's always good it was good but that is just gonna keep on upsetting him i'm assuming i i have a little look i think it's when we hit indignant it lasts for a set number of turns i don't know how many and then it just defaults back to proud i think that's how it works uh we can upgrade you um yeah we're going to want to do that to keep upgrading this get that influence in there though this happiness is actually okay we're gonna get a temple in at uh italian right we want to recruit those units let's get those guys in can i get them all no insufficient funds how much do i need let's recruit those ones yeah we'll probably it's not gonna be a big bat we'll probably fight that one just so that we can see them in action unless it's an absolute slam dunk uh we need a hundred more okie dokie two diplomacy i've got a bit i am really enjoying having resources broken down to five um and that you know there's no there's no trade agreements in the game by the ones you make the barters that you make i think it's a it's a very interesting step forward sparta's got a fair bit of bronze uh yeah ithaca this year's you've got a fair bit we shall see what we can do here oh military alliance could be interesting who you are with bowen's at the moment i'm not gonna go for it i'm not gonna go for it yet odysseus but eventually yes just in case you pull me into wars over here and they suddenly show up i want to finish what i'm doing over here then we'll look to be friendly yeah i just need a single single amount just one a hundred bronze which apparently you are very keen to give away uh yeah your value gold so how about oh what is that why does that increase things instantly nudges it up so you're actually quite keen to almost give it away wow um could yeah i could buy it we've got that is very expensive um you don't have much wood i've got a fair bit of wood there we go 129 wood or 100 bronze boom perfect well well i won't haggle any harder than that for now um get that one in beautiful and then let's march you've got five slaughter oh that is a that is a slam donkas slam donkas what's the map like if the map's really interesting then we'll fight it oh that's that's kind of interesting with that bit oh go on then let's have a let's have a battle check out the uh 15 spears you'll be it'll be a quick smash i'm sure [Music] deployment okay uh it's not as cool as the kind of mini map that's nice i ground up here i'm liking the layout of settlements actually we've got this little bit there so we've got to break through the choke points [Music] that's fine um i think it'd be fun to have achilles try and break through this side and rush up towards the the victory point so let's see if we can hide him in there hide a lot of the you know have the eugenium runners they can they can basically take care of themselves because they've got a missile weapon as well haven't they i think one of you are saying yeah their range is 110 which is actually it's it's longer than my javelins which is crazy what is it says a special missile weapon what actually is it is it just a really fancy javelin or or what let's put two and two although i'll give you the javelins as well just so you can kind of look after them a bit champions and swords yeah you know i'll put i'll put all of kind of my best troops together i'll have them over here and then we'll have all of you guys go in there and then maybe maybe we should give these extra spears over here we can hide them in the trees as well it'd be good oh one of these not hidden there we go right let's have a quick little look at the spears what's that stats like and they've got a bonus versus large how do they compare to regular spears okay so way more health 15 more armor 11 more morale 18 more melee attack 17 more melee defense 12 more damage uh two more charges not much not much charge oh they can switch weapons yeah oh yeah so they can do they can do this pop the shields on the back and then look at their stats now offensive with a good charge which i think is how i'm going to use you guys today rather than having you guys as defending units will have you as charging units nice right begin over there we've got two heroes can they see that we've got troops over here i don't know i'll hold off pushing forward here until we've engaged these guys i'm hoping these guys gonna be great at just breaking on through slingers on the bowmen straight away we've got some slingers over there probably should have you guys all on skirmish mode i don't think giving them kind of group attack orders works that well in troy just because you need to manage your attack to make sure that the attacks are kind of their flanking attacks oh i can't get in that way sneaky let's keep busy [Music] [Music] okay your warriors are losing heart okay achilles time to spring your attack thing is move around here a bit nice that unit is gone get achilles in javelins if we can get you guys round off skirmish mode i'll hit those guys in the back actually see that oh good [ __ ] i'm not charged understood get you in how are we doing over here yeah looking okay javelin's slaw to the islanders don't hold back take out the island club warriors next then we'll turn on these guys a bit closer how much those guys can do over there that's fine i was going to send them to get the capture point but i don't think there's much point i'll kill you next time now you die don't know what about a break oh that javelin volley oh yes i can't wait for blood to make it look even better got to get round behind those guys [Applause] you've shattered yeah there we go there's the shatter there's the victory boom as as foretold in the order resolve 460 loss is not bad achilles didn't get any kills just because he was dueling peeps i guess that's the trade-off as long as your heroes fighting theirs it stops them doing a lot of damage as well to your troops let's see if we can kill them often that's a pretty substantial morale hit we've got some bronze we've got plenty of food got some gold as well nice and some experience experience is always good um occupy i could just occupy whatever won't be so bad if we do that we get more replenishment we've already got public order problems here though so well if we've already got public order problems that kind of makes the case of have some more while you're at it well that slows down pressing the attack maybe ah let's save and occupied so we can keep on pushing with achilles they have to babysit the region too much you can always bring button back three more turns minus 13 but that's mainly the conquest hit yeah that's fine what have you got here musterfield um that'll let me get spearman won't it achilles the champion what i could do is merge and then recruit another spearman in and then we'll get rid of it next turn we've also gone up a skill rank you guys gonna take three turns replenish but how strong is that settlement 10. crazy strong how strong is that faction actually before i start getting oh i'll scarf them how how strong is that next victim 20. we're six though they've got five regions i think got five i got one there two three or maybe they've got those islands as well yeah maybe they've got that one that's fine though so just be pressing them into the sea literally not with anyone don't have any allies yeah let's go we can do it we're achilles hungry for actually yeah let's go four let's throw the fifth in unit the replenish next turn let's take all miss beers do a quick merge ultimate warrior i'll deal with it and get rid of you two fresh spears and we can basically move next turn yeah achilles skill point for glory good points good point we've got armed by hephaestus or the way of aries on by hephaestus is plus 60 to melee damage of hero and plus five 2.5 to hero hit points and then what the for the extra bits there that's extra damage of hero during siege and choke point battles and land an ambush that's probably what i go for land ambush all this is plus five to the melee attack of the hero plus 2.5 percent serious hit points and then plus 100 melee damage here against sword units spear units i mean melee attack is the determines the chance of successful hit so you could you could keep powering up his actual damage but if you've got your melee attack isn't high enough then your success chance to actually hit doesn't matter how much damage you do because you won't you won't actually connect um it's not that much of a bit but oh i think the little tool tip there's just um sort of sold it to me the way of aries make no mistake the sport is war total war yeah we gotta do it the name of the game that's what where we'll go 70 melee attack now what's our equipment all that remember fair fighter early attack of audience that's awesome and that we gain that by being personally involved in combat during battles good right uh can we build anything we're going to keep that for now so we recruit this unit simple destroy it next turn i don't think we don't want that in a minor settlement because we can't go up to tier 5. uh you're upgrading you guys still want i could trade for some stone to get that in there let's see if anybody has a lot of stone that'd be my one request seeing as this game is is very much focused on having all those resources to manage your economy would be great if we could have in the quick deal or a separate bit which lets you filter factions by the amount of specific resources on the fly that would be that'd be my request i will pass that along to ca [Music] aim with loads of stone you've got a fair bit a lot of tds okay so is gonna be you uh you i want a hundred and what are you desperate for you're desperate for wood 100 for 100 all right you want the straight 140. that is fine i think that's what we needed magic thank you all right come back and oh great no it was 380 i needed damn it right we know what to go back to he's gonna love us i've got some more i've got some more wood for you let us see if a deal can be reached uh so technically we just need 29. what do you want perfect and what you need will be completely out of stone but i don't think there's anything else we need stone for right now yeah let's just get that in my defenses then i won't worry about that one anymore we'll have a decent garrison um probably should think about garrison our capital do we get more no we do get garrisons we upgrade that so yeah we don't need to worry too much that's fine good good good right in the turn i need to check to see when i can cancel that normal aggression i don't want to miss my opportunity for that what okay well that has that's completely changed what we're gonna do then oh whoa i thought there was another wall then i was like no no no and you're not having the bronze stop it okay total change of plan because the aliens have decided to declare warners rip our plans to go east though the abanti's probably pretty happy about that i'm not going to come and kill you yet don't you dare attack me though while i'm going west let's see if i'm getting non-aggression with them ready for salient ruining all my well planned plans my well-placed plans i should say this always happens with me the ai i swear listens to my commentary and then throws a spanner in the works god damn it saliens anyway before we tackle them we've got an epic mission has been issued dreams dark tidings move achilles the falling region oh up here i mean that kind of factors in quite nicely for our future plans we've actually just got to wait until we can cancel that on aggression then declare war on them i'll go and check that in a minute but yeah then we can bring achilles up here and do this epic mission cool we get bonus experience a thousand for him uh mission issued first conquest maintain control of two provinces either by direct ownership or through vassals military allies and that's fine get some wood and growing influence maintain control of two provinces okay two missions for exactly the same goal but different rewards that's fine have you thought about bundling those two together um diplomacy before we take a look at the aliens let's just have a look at you guys i hope you're killing how long so i can cancel this three more turns okay mustn't miss that uh that window opportunity to do that salience why 83 strength rank what is going on why you just trying to raid me perhaps i don't know i don't know i'm friendly minus 31 i'm not looking at you minus 20 for peace i'm guessing i can't lob a load of resources at you though yeah gold through all of it no barely a den wow that's not doing anything all the food no okay so we're gonna have to go crush them uh i that's that's not a problem it's then that we'll be bordering all these other factions over here which i don't think i've discovered yet because they're not showing up i'm gonna try and click on them and see other factions that might draw me into more wars maybe we want to get that military alliance with ithaca with odysseus minus two we could probably tempt him for that i guess we'll see what happens ah this aliens right well at least achilles army is at full strength um yeah we'll force march him back to italian and then get ready to go is that the capital there yes they don't they don't hold the whole province uh that's fine they've got two two regions so we might end up conquering a fair over here to complete it have to see how strong these factions are i really don't want to do that but actually if it brings us up here then we're closer to these guys just got to keep an eye on this lot down there i might need button back sooner rather than later in fact yeah that rebellion when can we bring him back two more turns okay i mean my food's not great at the moment i have thrown a thousand out through diplomacy though i should come back soon um actually if we get rid of that now then we can build grain here brain food whatever it is let's find that helps out i can't upgrade that just yet two more turns so that's great at least we've got the guard house coming up there that's good right uh divine will can we do aphrodite yet we can for growth and happiness no that's gonna do a huge amount right now with the rebellion building might give us maybe an extra turn to get some more units in with old uh with all button yeah i mean growth is always good let's go for another aphrodite prayer though until we've got that that temple in place we don't want that favor trickling away okay they've got an army of 13. i'm pretty sure that's all they've got though judging by their strength ranking i mean i could i could just go and go and raise their settlements but getting the provincial capital is not too bad i will go for it oh and i can beat you as well noise oh no that's enforcement you've now got the guard house so you've got a pretty strong garrison they're just in their raiding this is who's that belong to every time unless belongs to you guys we've got military access though that's good that's fine achilles the champion i go might be about to go this way around a river that slows us a bit now let's go let's go around this way 27 then i can drop an ambush positions there's gonna be a rebellion here in four turns uh button in one turn that's fine because that's gonna upgrade and give us a bit more garrison there we could probably actually recruit button here because then we can get the the spearman in there a bit more solid that's fine you guys you're gonna have the arable land and getting more food influence is still building oh you do a commandment i've not done one of those whoops happiness organized games that'd be very helpful gotten that [Music] um let's let's sew it down a little bit i just knock it down another turn for us that's all good right in turn we'll see if we can catch that army and then i think we'll wrap things up or today anyone else ever feel like the ai listens to what you're saying about they bring in multiple forces they're gonna force march in and attack it but of course you're gonna press the attack they are okay well we will open with this defense next episode not the end of the world if we lose it because achilles is close by and he can swing on behind them and finish them off whatever's left hopefully though with the spears and the swordsman they've got plenty of them might be able to do it it's gonna be it's gonna be close we'll whittle them down a fair bit and then yeah achilles can just smash whatever's left shame to lose the settlement well then they might just sack it i guess we'll find out next time so until then i hope you guys have enjoyed don't forget to comment rate
