hey what's up everybody in this video I would like to discuss the one American Silver Eagle gimmick that I dislike more than anything we're going to discuss that in this video but before we do if you don't mind please hit the thumbs up button on this video and definitely let me know in the comment section below do you believe this is a gimmick do you collect these type of American silver eagles if you do and if you do not believe it's a gimmick let me know that in the comment section Below in this video we are looking at a few different American silver eagles a few different dates the most important one in this video is this one with the date of 2015. 2015 is the highest mintage year for the American Silver Eagle bullion coin at 47 million American Silver Eagle struck in 2015. however in 2015 it it was discovered due to the Freedom of Information Act that there was a few of these coins a very small portion of the American silver eagles that was struck at the Philadelphia mint now I do believe most American Silver Eagle bullion coins are struck at the West Point mint however when the West Point mint is overwhelmed I do believe they share the workload between their other minting facilities in Philadelphia and in San Francisco well in 2015 somebody caught on to this and thanks to the Freedom of Information Act it was discovered that there was some of these 47 million coins that was struck at the Philadelphia mint now today I do believe every Monster Box no matter where these coins are struck at each sealed Monster Box has sealed straps that have printed on their which meeting facility these coins were struck at but I guess in 2015 this was not the case so back in 2017 when this was realized somebody submitted a Freedom of Information Act request to the United States and it took a few months for the United States meant to actually get this information out but eventually it was realized that there was 79 500 2015 American silver eagles that was struck at the Philadelphia mint and it was a big Fiasco but they had to go off of tracking numbers and all kinds of nonsense to find out which seal monster boxes keep in mind these American silver eagles was from 2015 and this information didn't come out until two years later in 2017. and this is where I believe the whole struck at each minting facility on these labels really started was in 2015. now if we look at this 2015 American Silver Eagle or any American Silver Eagle bullion coin you will see that there is no mint mark now there are American silver eagles that do have mint marks and this is one of them this one here is a burnished American Silver Eagle and you will see that it has the West Point mint mark and then there's other proof American silver eagles that could have the San Francisco mint mark if it was struck at the San Francisco mint and then other proof American silver eagles with the same W mint mark as this that was struck at the West Point mint however bullion coins do not have mint marks and it was attended that way so that you do not know which minting facility struck these coins ever since 2015 I believe every year after 25th 15 or maybe there were some years that they didn't do it but now we see that there is several dates 2021 2022 and I'm even seeing some ads pop up now for 2023 where you can get American silver eagles that are slabbed by one of the big grading companies that say that they were struck at whichever minting facility maybe the West Point maybe to San Francisco Mint one of the reasons that I just dislike this is because the American Silver Eagle bullion coin was not meant for you or me or anybody to know where these coins were struck at and these are just bullion coins these coins were not meant to be collectible coins to have a collector's premium on them but because of these labels and saying where these coins were struck at now some of these coins have a monstrous premium and the 2015 struck at the Philadelphia mint if you look at the secondary Market some of these coins are going for upwards of over a thousand dollars per coin now this was a discussion that I was having in one of my other videos and that is what if said slab that says where these American silver eagles were struck at what if that slab cracked open some people look at modern Coin Grading differently some people just despise modern Coin Grading whichever way you look at it if a slab is cracked open say for this 2021 San Francisco Morgan silver dollar it's an MS70 if this slab somehow got destroyed or got cracked I could absolutely resubmit this to NGC and they would regrade it maybe it comes back at 70 maybe it comes back something else I don't know but if you have one of these American silver eagles take the 2015 American Silver Eagle that once again has no mint mark If you resubmit this that is struck at whichever minting facility the Grading Company in my opinion is not going to re-slab this coin with a label saying where this coin was struck at so if you purchase a 2015 struck at the Philadelphia mint for a huge amount of money and something happens to that slab and that label with inside that slab then that becomes just another 2015 American Silver Eagle with the highest mintage ever of 47 million coins in my opinion now it all started in 2015 but it seems to be a trend like I said previously in this video dealers authorize purchasers or maybe dealers who buy these Master boxes off of the authorized purchasers send in the sealed Master boxes that have the straps that say which minty facility produced these American silver eagles and they go for a higher premium than the high premium that is already on these billion coins in the first place now I do realize that it's probably mostly registry set collectors who buy these sort of slabbed coins that say which minting facility produced which American Silver Eagle or maybe you're a collector who doesn't do registry sets but still buys these coins regardless if that's you let me know in the comments section below why you buy them why you like them why you enjoy them why it's something that you do want to purchase if you are like me and you totally despise this whole thing with these slab American silver eagles that states which minting facility produced these American silver eagles let me know that too in the comment section below I appreciate everybody for watching oh by the way if this video gets over 300 likes I will go to my local coin shop because I do know that they have some and I will buy one of these American silver eagles that is slapped not from 2015 that would be ridiculous because those are going for a lot of money but maybe a 2021 or a 2022 or 2023 struck at whichever meant that slab that states which minting facility struck these coins these billion coins and I will crack that sucker open and put it into maybe I'll just throw it into my tube from the United States Mint or maybe put it into a coin capsule but I will definitely buy one invest my money in the buying one and then cracking that sucker open if that's something that you want to see done on video if this video gets 300 likes I absolutely do that but let me know what your thoughts are in the comment section below I appreciate everybody for watching like comment subscribe share and I'll talk to everybody on my next video rant over thanks a lot everyone
