hey friends so what I did my meal prep video I talked about eating a lot of salads and I think people have this preconceived notion that eating a salad means you're depriving yourself so I wanted to show you what my big salad is all about it's definitely not a deprivation type of situation so I start off with an entire plastic clamshell container of some sort of greens so today I'm using it baby spinach however I also love baby kale sometimes I'll throw a rubella and it really just depends what I'm in the mood for so you can certainly use romaine or cabbage iceberg really any salad green is totally fine here and the key is you want to just have enough that you're not gonna be hungry so this salad is not about depriving yourself to lose weight you can lose weight by not eating that will work for a short amount of time however this is about satisfying yourself making sure that you're getting the nutrition that you need to stay full so that you don't have to snap between meals so that you don't get super hungry and have all these cravings to go and just binge on junk food I'm eating an entire container of greens this is a lot and I've got this chopper sherry at the watering mouth talked about this or her meal prep and I absolutely am in love with this I got this as I think it's oXXO and I got it on Amazon but basically it's like a double pizza cutter and you can just cut your salad please and what's great about this is you're breaking the greens down it makes it a lot faster to eat because one of the things that I found with this diet which is kind of crazy is it's just so much food that I don't have time to eat it all so if I'm trying to eat this on a meal break I really need a little bit of extra help getting it broken down so that I can eat it in a reasonable amount of time this I think is pretty good for me so I mean it's not uniform but you can see it's you know smaller pieces as far as toppings go I'm gonna use everything that I'm meal prep so I'm super casual when it comes to lunch salads I mean it's lunch it's like not that serious so I've got all of my bell peppers here and I just sprinkle on as much as I think I want so that's maybe like a half cup of bell peppers jalapeno sprinkle this on to it's maybe half a jalapeno got some black beans here these are just canned black beans that I rinsed off I like to store these rinsed the refrigerator because it just makes it more of a grab-and-go situation so really anything you can do to speed up the making your salad process it's gonna help you stick with it longer so here I've got my cooked farro and i sprinkle this over the top is maybe a quarter cup or so diced red onion I love onion so I go a little bit heavy on that I've got my water sauteed mushrooms so these have no added oil no added salt they're super meaty and delicious so I love to have these on cucumbers probably like a maybe like a three inch piece of cucumber there and I've got my baked sweet potatoes that I cut into little Spears and I like these because I can just snack on them like this if I want to or I just cut them with a serrated knife and again it's lunchtime I'm not even getting out a cutting board I don't want to wash an extra thing so I'm just cutting this up cold I like having some sort of starchy something on the salad I have a little bit of that grain but it's also nice to have like some cup sweet potato some pumpkin I just like the different textures and all of that alright so then after everything I give it a little toss just to get everything kind of mixed together so for toppings I'm gonna do some dried cranberries I'm just gonna put a small amount in here I don't like to eat a lot of dried fruit because it's kind of concentrated sugar I'd rather eat fresh fruit but that's not always an option and then here I've got some with raw sunflower seeds and I'm just gonna put a little bit on so it's just like a small palm full maybe a tablespoon and a half I don't like to go too heavy on the nuts because I'm gonna use my humus dressy and it has to be in it so I've already got seeds in there so there's already some fat to kind of keep me full I do try to eat some in a house fat in it at every single meal because there are a lot of vitamins in the vegetables that need fat because they're fat soluble so I always try to have some fat in there plus it keeps you fuller for longer so this is my hummus this is super delicious this is at the end of my meal prep video so if you didn't stick around to the end of the video you can just click back over there and and check that out so this stuff is super good and if I'm feeling fancy I'll craft some black pepper over the top and that's it so this is my giant salad this is what I ate twice a day every single day for 90 days to lose 30 pounds so you can see it is not about deprivation it's about satisfying yourself keeping yourself nourished and full and this is absolutely delicious this is my lunch today so I'm going to dig in I
