hello and welcome to the schedule Channel and today let me show you what are the best and worst used graphics cards you can buy in 2023 and I think this video is very appropriately timed we're about halfway into the release of the latest generation RTX 4000 and Radeon RX 7000 gpus and even nearing the end of Intel Arc but we'll slide them off for this video which leans now we have a bunch of used RTX 3000 RX 5000 and older graphics cards on the GPU market and I know the outlook for new gpus may be kind of Bleak but on the used Market they are red hot there are some really fantastic graphics cards out there a lot of which are going under the radar which I'll be exposing in this tier list so hopefully I'll diagnose which used graphics cards are the best for your money through the means of yet again a tier list so really the only thing I'm looking for is how much vram does the graphics card offer because let's be real PC games in 2023 like to eat up vram and if you're buying a graphics card you should anticipate for future performance because if you want to play Star field at launch Forza Motorsport at launch or any other PC game at launch it's a safe bet those are going to be unoptimized at launch it'll probably take about two to three months for them to actually be more playable so a way to counteract that is just to have a graphics card that is a little bit more beefy and have more vram especially if you want to play at higher resolutions like 1440p and that's really about it because the driver difference between AMD and Nvidia cards is pretty much nil they're the same so with all that said let's go ahead and get started with the video right after a word from our sponsor if you want to purchase any of these graphics cards you see here I recommend doing so through java.gg because not only is that going to be cheaper than the competition but it's also going to be better say if you want to communicate with the seller that you're buying a graphics card from which is one of the advantages to shopping with java.gg you can see which sellers are verified but from the for the most part I think all sellers on there are pretty honest more so than say other platforms and if that wasn't enough java.gg even has their own Discord Community where you can even talk to these sellers or to other buyers and maybe even see for yourself which graphics cards are on a really good discount on their website so throughout this video I'll be referencing them for certain graphics cards and seeing where they rank so if you want to check out java.gg I highly recommend you do so through the link in my description below so before we rank the first graphics card I just want to note that I don't know the performance differences of every single one of these graphics cards because you know we're ranking 54 different graphics cards even though I do have experience with a lot of them so we are going to be referencing this GPU hierarchy chart from Tom's Hardware quite a bit just to see which graphics cards line up with others in terms of performance so let's start with the RX 570 which the 4 gigabyte model it's going to take things off in D tier with how cheap used graphics cards are you really don't want to buy one with four gigabytes of vram because you might as well get the eight gigabyte version like what we have with the rx578 gigabyte which I'm gonna put I'm gonna put in beats here the strength of these RX 500 gpus is just how affordable and cheap they are although they are pretty old they're still receiving graphics card updates and like I said you can get one with eight gigabytes of vram for well under 100 and the 570 is the more power efficient model of the other graphics card going over next to it the RX 580 8 gigabyte faster but it is hotter so there's a little bit of a drawback but I think if you cool it off well it'll be worth it for only a few extra dollars more and on that note the 584 gigabyte is going right next with the 574 gigabyte because why would you want to buy a used 500 series GPU win just for like literally two dollars more you can get the eight gigabyte model oh but now we have the RX 590 I remember this graphics card it's kind of a funky one one uh it's just an even more overclocked RX 580 with the same amount of vram I'm gonna give it a c tier there aren't as many 590s in the used Marketplace as there are 580s and 570s so I don't think these are selling for as good of a price as the 580 and 570 and the performance difference between a 570 and a 580 is not that much or sorry 590 and 580. so I don't think it's as desirable and there's other used graphics cards for the same price of these RX 590s that would be better off getting like the Vega 56 which is a little bit more expensive but I'm putting this graphics card in a tier which sounds a little goofy but let me justify I actually own this graphics card and one really neat trick that I did is I flashed a Vega 64 bios onto the Vega 56 which I'll link in the description below if you want to see how to do that but in doing so you can close the performance gap between a 56 and a 64. without having to spend any extra money so it's basically free performance and these graphics cards are selling just below 100 and I think out of all the graphics cards we're going to cover in this video the best price to perform a graphics card under 100 is probably gonna have to be a used Vega 56 when flashed with the Vega 64 bios now yes I understand these Vega gpus might have been mined a lot on for that Monero coin back in 2018 2017. but if you're willing to take the risk the performance of these Vega gpus is seriously underrated and are really flying under the radar which leaves the Vega 64 which you'd think would get you know a pretty good rating giving what I just said about the Vega 56 but if you look at what they're selling for online it's nothing too spectacular they're in the 100 to 150 price range and once again if you perform that Vega flash bios from the 56 to the 64 on the 56 you're gonna get near the same performance of the 64 but for about 40 dollars less so I don't think the 64 is as appealing as a value so I'm going to put this in seat here I think they're going for a little bit overpriced right now in the used Market which then uh that's right the Radeon seven um yeah the Radeon 7 was a conceptual graphics card it wasn't meant to actually you know be something widespread and well selling but now let's go ahead and move on to the 1000 series from Nvidia and there should be some decent picks in here starting with the 1063 gigabyte which is not a decent pick it is going below the Radeon 7. why would you want a graphics card with three gigabytes of vram in 2023 don't do it but here's a graphics card that is going to fare better the GTX 1060 six gigabyte six gigabytes of vram is a bit under what we're looking for but with how it shape they're going for it kind of justifies that amount of vram still though they are selling more than what an RX 580 would sell for and if you look at the performance chart with all the driver updates that have been coming to the 500 series over the years an RX 580 is now faster than a GTX 1060. yet it's going to be cheaper so because of that I probably got to put it at the bottom of C tier because it's kind of the same situation as the 1063 gigabyte it's not fast enough although it's cheap and could use more vram unlike the GTX 1070 this comes with eight gigabytes of vram and they're selling for actually pretty competitive prices for a used Nvidia GPU I think they're what around 100 maybe just above that isn't too bad they are faster than RX 500 gpus and yes it'll get beaten up by a Vega 56 but as you can see it's not by much so it's actually one of the better value used in video graphics cards so therefore we're going to put this in B tier probably yeah I'm gonna put at the bottom of Beats here because the Vega 56 does exist but here's the 1070 TI and here's something weird that I've noticed with the 1070 TI in particular the price difference between a used 1070 and a used 1070 TI is not that much yet the performance difference is a little bit measurable so the 1070 TI is going to get a better ranking from me so I'm going to put it above the 1070 right next to the RX 500 gpus ah now the GTX 1080 well this one I don't like I'm gonna put it in the bottom of C tier and that's just simply because it's overpriced it has eight gigabytes of vram and the 1080 TI completely blows it out of the water if you look at the performance charts and like what we just saw if you grab yourself a used 1070 TI you're going to be right within the performance of a 1080 but spending about 50 dollars less sure the memory on the 1080 is faster than the 1070 TI but it's not worth the price in my opinion so it's gonna go on the bottom of seat here but the 1080 TI aka the best graphics card Nvidia has ever made and regrets making because it makes everything after it look not as good so this graphics card I think for a while was one of the best used Nvidia graphics cards you could get but I think the cat's out of the bag I think people understand how good of a graphics card this is now used in the marketplace and I think the prices for them have been going a little bit up which kind of lowers my rating for it just a bit but it's still really good so good I think it deserves a tier below the Vega 56. if you can get this around 150 you got a graphics card with 11 gigabytes of vram that's an Nvidia graphics card so Bravo can do that and now we're given to the RX 5000 series of graphics cards starting with the RX 5500 XT 4 gigabyte which we're going to give a d tier yup nope actually you know what I would rather get a 5500 XT 4 gigabyte more so over a Radeon 7 or even a GTX 10 63 gigabyte by a pretty large amount I'm going to do something a bit fun we're gonna add a row what color do we make this oh now let's just do black I'm gonna call this f'd here you can barely see the F but I'm putting the Radeon 7 and the 1063 gigabyte where they belong don't get these graphics cards at all on the used Marketplace that makes me feel a little bit better just like the rx3500 XT 8 gigabyte this finally has a good amount of vram and you know what it's gonna go to the top of B tier so right now I think a lot of people are sleeping on this graphics card because I think too many people look at the 580 and the 570 under 100 but not enough people are looking at the 5500 XT 8 gigabyte which all things said is a bit faster than the 580 and is faster than the 590 yet it uses less power and it's maybe only a few dollars more than 588 gigabyte so I think it's a more desirable graphics card plus it's newer and is on the rdna architecture then that leads us to the RX 5600xt which might just be my most controversial pick in this entire video because computationally it's a fantastic graphics card seriously like this graphics card I think got even more slept on than the 5500 XT 8 gigabyte but it comes with six gigabytes of vram and that's a little bit uncomfortable to justify right now however if you look at the prices that they're selling for I think it's worth it therefore I'm gonna put this in a tier above the 1080 TI but this is all kind of being overshadowed by the two big kahunas we're about to cover next on the used Marketplace you could almost stop watching the video right now if you're looking for the best used graphics cards but nonetheless let's keep going and uh you know let me do this as well because it's Gotta happen the fabled SS tier we haven't even put a graphics card in s tier yet but I already know it's going to go in the SS tier and you might be surprised with what I'm about to do next I'm going to cover the RX 5700 XT first eight gigabytes of vram and at one point this was easily the best used graphics card in 2023. the prices they're selling for are criminally low and in terms of raw performance it's going to outscore a lot of RTX 2000 graphics cards and with all the driver updates coming to that 5700 XT making it a really good graphics card for it at like 140 there's nothing else to compare it to other than its own because the 5700 XT is going to go in s here that's an easy pick but just even potentially better is the RX 5700 which I'm putting in SS tier and let me tell you why just like the Vega 56 and Vega 64 where you could flash a Vega 64 bios onto the Vega 56 to essentially get a free Vega 64. you can do the same with the RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT where you can load an RX 5700 XT bios onto the RX 5700 and guess what I did this once with my Rx 5700 and it turned out just fine and I'll again link a tutorial in the description below showing you how to do that if you want to pick up an RX 5700 yourself and perform that little hack but man the performance you can get at an even lower price to the 5700 XT because I think people have caught on a little bit to how good the 5700 XT has been selling for on the used Marketplace and if it almost been I think marking up the price a little bit but in turn no one's looking at the 5700 and it's selling for like 110 right now it's a really good deal so if you do that bios flash hack on the RX 5700 it is an easy SS tier recommendation and I mean let's move on to uh Nvidia again here we have the 1650 four gigabytes of vram and I'm gonna put this I'm gonna put this in D tier below all the RX gpus it's got four gigabytes of vram I don't care how cheap it is it was an underwhelming graphics card at launch and it's still underwhelming in the used Market nowadays but with the GTX 1650 super it's actually a pretty good step up from the 1650 so I'm gonna give it a little bit of a higher ranking but nothing too crazy I'm gonna put a snack dab between the 570 and the 580 because the 1650 super is a little bit more costly but not by much but the performance difference is worth it over the 1650. and then we have the 1660 with six gigabytes of vram and for this one I'm gonna give it a promotion I'm gonna put it in seat here above the 1066 gigabyte because the 1660 series is alright performing for the money although there's more desirable graphics cards in my opinion for around the same price on the used Market but it's not too terrible but the 1660 super it's bigger brother definitely is the better buy for only a few dollars more there is a pretty good performance difference between the 1660 super and the 1660. so you can see the 1660 super is pretty much a 1660 TI but it's cheaper which leaves a 1660 TI to go probably at the bottom of the trio because it is the most pricely of the three and essentially you can get a free 1660 TI for the means of a 1660 super so not as desirable in my opinion ah but now the RTX 2060. you guys might not like this but let me tell you why the RTX 2060 is going to go below the 1660 super and above the 1660. reason being it has six gigabytes of vram and for the prices I've been seeing them selling for on the used Marketplace they're a little bit higher because why would you want to get say like a used 2060 for like 140 to 150 bucks well you can get a fused 5700 XT that'll blow it out of the water and comes with more vram but at the end of the day it can technically do ray tracing although it's pretty mediocre at best so I don't really consider consider it a full-on rate tracing graphics card so I think for the prices they've been selling for they're overpriced but what I think is accurately priced right now is the RTX 2060 super which comes with eight gigabytes of vram and for this graphics card I'm gonna put it in B tier above the 1070 TI because for only a few dollars more than the used 2060 you can get a used 2060 super that is going to be a fair bit faster actually look at that performance gap between the 2060 and the 2060 super for not that much more and it comes with an extra two gigs of vram making this eight gigabytes of vram pretty good used Nvidia graphics card just like the used RTX 2070 which I'm throwing this above the 2060 super because it could be had for around the same price if not the same but the 2070 is just a faster 2060 super for only like a few extra bucks so all the more power to you 2070 used is a great graphics card keeping it at B tier but I think the deal gets even sweeter if you consider the RTX 2070 super now I don't know why but I think this is probably the best price to performing used Nvidia graphics card on the market for some reason they're not selling that much more than a used RTX 2070 yet it's got actually a sizable amount of performance on it kind of like between the 2060 and the 2060 super so I don't know why but I think this graphics card should be selling for more than what it's actually going for on the used Marketplace given its performance so I'm gonna put it in a tier oh you know what I'm gonna put it above the 5600 XT it's got eight gigabytes of vram that's going to be the tiebreaker for me it's a really good used Nvidia graphics card but the 2080 kind of like the 1080 somehow these are selling for overpriced right now on the used Marketplace not completely worth it and once again within the 2080 you can probably even grab like a used RX 6000 GPU for around the same price that'll blow it out of the way in terms of performance so simply but I think they're overpriced right now in the used Marketplace so it's going to go into C tier um I'm gonna put it below all the 1660 gpus and once again the 2080 super kind of falls to the same fate and it's a little bit worse because the 2080 super is not that much faster than the regular 2080 and has the same amount of vram but the prices are about the same so I am going to give it just a slightly higher ranking and then the 2080 TI well this is a little weird because the 2080 TI wasn't as big of a performance jump between that and the 2080 versus say the 1080 TI and the 1080 so I don't think it's as worth it people are still overcharging for it on the used Marketplace so I'm gonna throw this in it might get a oh that wouldn't go down well well it's got a lot of vram so you know I will give this between the 2080 and the 2080 super it's in a weird spot oh then the RTX Titan nope why would you want to use RTX Titan when you can literally get like a new graphics card for the same price and it'll destroy it getting used Flagship graphics cards from previous generations don't always play out the only used Nvidia graphics card that's a flagship that's worth it right now in my opinion once again is that 1080 TI but it's a bit of an outlier in that sense uh but now we're on to the RX 6000 gpus let's go ahead and run through these RX 6400 on the used Market F tier at the very top this graphics card is crippled why would you want to use one when there's much better graphics cards within the same price range RX 6500 XT once again F tier it's a graphics card with that four PCI lanes and an X and a PC engine 4.0 configuration if you put this in a PCI gen 3.0 system like the rx6400 it's going to lose performance which is very dumb oh but RX 6600 this is going to actually fare pretty well in the tier list I'm gonna put this in a tier above the oh I think I'll put it above the 2070 super because the 2070 super is oh never mind I'm flipping this around the 2070 super is faster and I think it's a little bit cheaper than a used 6600 or maybe they're about the same price however I think a lot of people are sleeping on the used RX 6600 XT which is not that much more than the 6600 and if you look at the performance difference between those two it's pretty significant and it's on par with a 2070 super but once again I think you could find a 2070 super for a little bit less than a used RX 6600 XT so I'm going to put this above the 6600 but below the 2070 super and then the RX 6650xt is kind of weird because it was introduced a little bit late on onto the graphics cards generation and there's not too many of them on the used Marketplace I'd rather just buy a new one so I'm gonna put this in beats here but near the bottom above the uh you know I'm gonna put it probably at the no I'm gonna put it right here between the 2060 super and the 10 70 TI and the same kind of Fate applies to the RX 6700 it was introduced a bit late into the rx6000 GPU lineup there's not too many of them on the used Marketplace it's much better off buying one of these brand new so I'm gonna throw this in a tier but probably near the bottom because it is a 6700 series GPU and those are really overkill for the money and on the used Marketplace they're even better just like the RX 6700 XT I'm scrolling the mouse wheel back up to SS tier because that is exactly where this belongs brand new it's one of the best graphics cards for the money and on the used Marketplace for like 220 why would you want to get anything else its performance is staggering you it's like look you can get nearly a 3070 used for way less than a used 3070 and if you look at the previous generations it's faster than 20 DTI so why would you want to bother getting one of those and it completely demolishes anything else from like seven years ago all right now I used RX 6800 so this one it's a little bit okay oh wait hold up I think I made an oopsie yeah sorry the 6600 XT in 6600 are St or gpus had a little mistake there which actually might promote the 2070 super up to EST here as well anyways 6800 it's all right but I think a used 6800 XT for about the same price is more desirable and faster so the 6800 is going to go here in a tier I'm gonna put it I'm gonna put it below the 5600 XT but above the 1080 TI but the 6800 XT is going to go into s tier and you can get these used for a pretty good price so I think I'm gonna throw this oh I think I'm gonna have to put it above because once you get a 6800 XT you're pretty much set oh but just even more criminally underrated is a used RX 6900 XT and this is going to get a very strong recommendation for me because you can get these for about the same price as a used RX 6800 XT if you look in the right spots and it is it's not too much faster but for the same price you might as well get the faster card so I'm going to throw this above the 6800 XT now the 6950 XT was once again kind of introduced a bit late on into the rx6000 lineup there's not too many of them on the used Marketplace and if you look at what they're selling for not worth it they're like 500 600 there's better graphics cards brand new I think well maybe not but it's not as strong of a value so it's going into I'm going to say throw this actually into the very bottom of B tier yeah because I think C tier would be too harsh because it is a very fast graphics card but used you obviously want to get probably the 6900 XT which has been out for longer and is not that much slower than a 6950 XT and let's go ahead and close out the video with Nvidia graphics cards from the RTX 3000 lineup starting with the 3050 this is easy we're gonna throw this at the bottom of D tier it is still overpriced it is still really slow and it is still just really inefficient it's a very terrible video graphics card don't consider getting one used and don't consider getting one new now a used 3060 is not too terrible because admittedly it does come with a lot of vram but it is a little bit underpowered so it's probably going to belong somewhere in C tier I'm gonna throw it probably oh I think for the price you can get better you can get much better used graphics cards so it's probably going to go above the RTX 2080 super but below the GTX 1600 series gpus but we have the previous best price to performing graphics card from Nvidia from their RTX 3000 lineup the 3060 TI and these are going for I think really underrated prices right now I think people are under pricing these because I guess people immediately jump to the 3070 but if you look at the performance Gap yeah it's kind of there but the 3070s are going for above 300 and use 30 60 tis they're going for just over 200. so I'm going to give this a pretty good rating I'm probably going to throw this above the 27 and super into s tier it's people need to buy the 3060 TI more because they're all looking at the 3070 these I think are a little bit overpriced and you know given its used Marketplace price you probably want to get a used in Radeon graphics card with more vram but it's still good nonetheless so I'm gonna throw this in a tier oh I'm gonna throw this below the 1080 TI and then the RTX 3070 TI No No that graphics card is underpowered comes with eight gigabytes of vram and they're just overpriced right now it's probably gonna go into B tier or C tier I'm gonna give it the top of C tier because the RTX 3080 just the one that launched back in 2020 this is going to be one of the best used Nvidia graphics cards you can get I'd argue that it was versus the 3060 TI the 3080 was the second best price to performing graphics card Nvidia released in their RTX 3000 lineup and these used on the marketplace can be found for at 400 and that is even probably better than some used Radeon graphics card deals because there's so many of them out there so I'm gonna throw this above the 6800 XT but below the 6900 XT it's selling for a really competitive price but the same can be said for the RTX 3080 because it was a late generation graphics card for the RTX 3000 Series there's not too many of them out there on the used Marketplace don't even bother getting one so I'm gonna throw this into C tier near the bottom because used they're not that much more different than new which is not a good thing to see in this video and then the 3080 TI well same kind of thing you don't really want to get a flagship and video graphics card from a previous generation just because they're still kind of selling for overpriced prices so I'm gonna throw this above the 1080. now I'm gonna throw below the 1080. and you know the same fate is probably going to apply to the 3090 um people may not like this but I'm sorry why would you want a 30 90 but you can get a brand new 470 TI or 7900 XT that'll do better than it let's close out the video with this at the bottom because the 3090 TI was already not worth it at launch and it's still not worth it in the used Marketplace I mean get a 4080 please for the price of a used 3090 ti so there you have it that is the ranking for the best used graphics cards in 2023 and hopefully you've enjoyed this video and if you did please like this video because I want to make more of these and I know you guys like them so let's help each other out so with all that said thank you so much for watching and this is the
