[Music] hello from the flying reporter i'm away from home with bertie at the moment for easter so this video is a bit more rough and ready than you might be used to this flight was a recent one good friday in fact and i met up with friends for lunch clear prop it was a busy day three takeoffs and landings for zone transit and this film is a bit more like a traditional vlog a day in the life of red hill has run out of fuel um i last refueled la rochelle thankfully india victor's tanks are fairly generous i've got uh 30 minutes flying to towerstone 15 liters for taxi and uh take off and the airplane so i'm trying to power those now and uh seeing how we go with those basically getting as near as i can a permanent camera installation to save time and distractions um when i uh fly so uh lovely day you can see for miles and miles i flew the other day without my my normal paperwork that i carry with me i thought oh just i'll fly with it as i you know without it i'll use i used a sky demon plug and then on the way back i didn't really have very much by way of paperwork and i found it really difficult because i'm used to my habits i'm used to knowing where the information is little instead to get fuel from there and um meeting up with john my you you're probably used to him now on the channel in his tb10 and john is flying with sean and i think sean's brother and we'll go up to gamston we've booked a table at the restaurant there we've tried to get in there a few times but they've been fully booked and uh looking at white waltham over there but today they have space so that's all good i thought i'd go too high because we then got to come back down in 26 miles but i just want to get a bit of height away from the bimbling traffic below me victor request frequency the tank of the fullest radios tuned landing light copy victor final runway 2-7 to land uh airport information and joining instructions sorry there's two stations at once there i believe it was individual just turning fine on service windows light and variable runway you save some back for me do you so we've just put in 176 liters of fuel my tanks take 272 so it's just uh just under 100 liters we've landed here which is about two hours fuel so actually we've done quite well there we have loads of fuel so no problems at all but i'm full up now so that'll keep me going for a bit i've got a coffee now uh just talking to chris in the tower he says that actually a number of people flying has gone down quite a bit recently he thinks because of the cost of fuel cost of uh living it's not surprising isn't it i mean it really has skyrocketed i think they're charging about two pound 13 a liter including that here which is actually competitive so uh yeah it's uh worrying times for everyone isn't it worrying times good thanks thank you goldfinivic's only point charlie ready for departure doesn't even know in effect you're lining up after the landing page lining up two seconds aerodromes as well okay so it's not always the same you have to read up and see what they're doing okay temperatures and pressures are all okay we'll turn the landing light off we've got the flaps up i mean where we are in bedford there's there's quite a good loop i mean you can i mean you could kayak all the way to the wash if you really wanted to but north bed which is stunning really really kengo goldfield confidentiality correct and keep a lookout for traffic just to the north east of you possible glide and now high information i wasn't sure whether to go flying today i really fancy coming to this restaurant it's it's quite um it's got a reputation um we'll see whether that's uh justified good afternoon we've tried to get here a few times sort of on the far side of where that brown field is and there's lots of aircraft going in there looking at the map here i quite fancy against the coast uh this weekend but it's going to be so big the first sign of sunshine and yeah road to be rammed weren't they yeah just got back from thailand uh last week so that was nice i was visiting an old school friend over there where in thailand did you get um raider control girl when you're victor sorry whereabouts so my friend lives up near konken which is up north north east um so we stayed there for a few days um and then down to kochang and then back up to bangkok for a couple of days so thailand is amazing the people are so friendly the food is just wonderful my favorite country i have to say i say so yeah that's uh east midlands airport over there okay i might just see the wind two zero zero degrees seven knots golfing victor midpoint downwind two one right hand to land the foxtrot final for runway two one uh all over the place [Music] so we enjoyed our arrival here into gamston um it wasn't too busy at all by the time we got here it sounded like it might be busy but it was all right and john's just landed in the tb10 so we're gonna go and try some lunch well you you did get five points for landing first yeah but sadly he didn't read the rules and as you transitive controlled airspace you need to lose ten points so i'm actually lost what do you mean i lose ten points to do control this oh he saw you oh that's not allowed is it not do you not know that you're worrying me there for a minute i thought i'd done something wrong no well you have yes but um i cheated this is what i'm having pork doesn't that look nice john's having a sandwich healthy option i think the healthiest richard's having salmon that looks lovely with asparagus and you're having a sandwich as well [Laughter] isn't it nice here i have to say that the lunch i had at gamston was probably one of the best ga airfield meals i've had here in the uk wow that was a lovely meal at gamston it's rare to go to a uh an airport an aerodrome ga air driver the setting was lovely service was great food was amazing so happy with that there are some close runners up the pilot's hub at red hill is another favorite of mine and norms and debs at earl's cone do a mean cheeseburger but for its ambience the service and the food top marks to the apron cafe and bakery you wait i'll be
