my simple recipe can turn this into this Winston Winston come back with that leg of [Music] lamb preparing a bowl of chicken soup for a loved one when they're sick has been a tradition now for centuries all around the world it's um it's that rainy day sick day comfort food type of dish and we all do it well there are many variations of chicken soup chicken noodle soup chicken and rice soup uh chicken and chicken and barley soup uh chicken and dumplin soup you can go on and on and on um in the US the most traditional soup is chicken noodles sou noodles are you know that sort of egg pasta which are full of carbs and those carbs create energy uh and help in in sort of creating Wellness again I recently posted on my social media a photograph of some chicken noodle soup that I've made for my family because they were sick and I wanted them to to feel better again and I was surprised at the comments so many people said share the recipe share the recipe we want the recipe surely everyone has the recipe it's so easy to make and these few simple ingredients like this uh can make the most incredible chicken soup my simple recipe can turn this into this my recipe everything goes in one part so even if you are feeling sick and you want to make this at home there's not much cleanup is there we start off with our miraa celery carrot carrots and onion and you can chop them in real bite-sized pieces tiny pieces but I like texture in that broth and so I actually slice my onions so cut them in half and then slice [Music] them they all go into the pot and then next it's the celery I've rinse through the celery and if it's really really dirty you can sort of pull this apart and break it up but if it's nice and clean after this then again just cut this into chunks it's a rustic soup so it doesn't have to be absolutely perfect and then the carrots I'm peeling these carrots but if you're using organic carrots you don't have to peel them cuz that's where all the nutrients are just under the skin otherwise using my speed peeler up and down and just take off that [Music] skin [Music] [Music] then once I've got my mirar in there then I can add my chicken I like to use chicken breast it's healthy it Cooks around the same time as the vegetables and you know if you're not feeling well taking that whole chicken and pulling the bones and everything else it just takes too long and it's like M I'm not in the mood for that so chicken breast works perfect with some good chicken broth also in there I like to add some anti-inflammatories especially this time of the year some turmeric some garlic and some ginger then I'll put a little oregano in there too and some black pepper on top of that I'll pour my chicken [Music] broth it's going onto the stove and it's going to simmer away for about 20 minutes just until the chicken's cooked chicken soup's not just about the taste it's about the smell too when you're not feeling well just sitting around the house this waft of chicken soup this natural goodness just wafting through the house and that anticipation of something delicious that you're going to eat in just well less than an hour my soup's been boiling now for o about 25 30 minutes and I can check that by just checking to see if the chicken is cooked it normally is after about 25 minutes 20 25 minutes now I'm going to take the chicken out and add the noodles so now just to take out those big chicken breasts and I'm just going to let those cool down so that I can just pull them apart and then put them back into the soup let that cool down add my noodles these are optional if you want to put rice in there instead Now's the Time to add that too stir that in and it's going to go back on the stove for about 10 minutes just to cook those noodles once the chicken's cooled a little just start pulling it apart you see how that just starts flaking and you can break it into whatever size pieces you want to I like to have nice chunky pieces in there chicken soup's been around now for 10,000 years it was invented by the Chinese when they first started um making chickens domestic uh but it was the 19th 30s when Campbell started making their own chicken soup and it became really really popular but Campbell Soup there's so much sodium in there and when you when you open a can of this it's nothing like this soup 1,000 mg of salt sodium in this can alone I mean that's not good we can make this dish so quickly and it's so much better the soup's been bubbling away now for about 8 to 10 minutes and the pasture is cooked now it's time to add the chicken into the [Music] soup give it a nice stir and turn off the heat that hot broth will warm the chicken it smells incredible and Now's the Time to give it a taste and see if we need to add any salt or even just a little [Music] salt it certainly doesn't need as much salt as those canas soup to finish my soup I'm going to add some chopped parsley it's rich in antioxidants and it helps improve your immune system [Music] too well it's not the out andout cure for colds and flu there's something special about chicken soup and it really does help with that healing whether whether it's just mentally it looks like Grandma was right after all just finish it with the [Music] parsley chicken noodle soup or chicken noodle [Music] soup you decide thanks for watching make this at home
