I think And I'm going to town because I have another border crossing coming up So I need to have another Covid test Result So that's what I'm going to do first, get the test done and then explore the area I am in town Masvingo I'll find a laboratory It's a busy day In town Should be here Clinical laboratories Let me see Here Hello!

I don't know But there is a massive lake In about 10 kilometers from here So I'm going to have a look there Looks like the gate is closed Yeah They've locked it That's a shame I can't go there. It was only two kilometers Two kilometers more And then I was there But uh.. It's locked Got to turn around Well maybe I'll just have a small break here anyway Have my lunch There's some shade here This morning I boiled some eggs And I have some bread left so I thought I can make myself some egg bread sandwich Not bad at all I would say Now because that gate is closed. I have to make quite a big loop back So.. Where you compare it to the mountains where I was, it was like almost rainforest And now there is this and there is some drier areas Really beautiful Let's continue the ride around the lake Try not to get a puncture Proclaimed National Monument 1937 Gave it's name to the country in 1980 And it's a World Heritage site This seems rather closed Hello Maybe they moved it to somewhere else What else does it say? This monument together with about 300 other similar sites built in dry stone walls are a link between us and our ancestors Right Let's find the real entrance then Hello Hello, how are you? Welcome to Great Zimbabwe Thank you So I am now at the Great Zimbabwean site And what we see here, is all remains from the Bantu civilization of the Shona people That were very active in this area between the 11th and the 15th century When this was.. well this capital was about 80 hectares big And it was an important trading place at the time So this is the Hill complex and it's built right on top of a granite outcrop So I'm going to climb the mountain first This is the ancient walkway up Imagine walking here in the 11th century And now.. walking here again Oeh, it's getting really, really narrow up there I can barely fit in between here Definitely one person traffic up here Wah, look at this! Okay, here we enter Wow, this is so cool! Wow How amazing, how they built those stones right over the natural rock there So this Hill complex is thought to be a Royal City. So they believe that on this spot this is where the chiefs used to live See if I can go through here Oh, it's so narrow Wow, that goes all the way down there And what's here? Wow Maybe a look out point Ahh Look at this Let's go down here Oh, look up here As well There is a passageway right in between the rocks here Wah, these ruins are.. I'm actually, feeling like I'm getting a little bit lost in here There are just stone pathways everywhere Now I have to go underneath here Oh, I think this is the.. top maybe Look at this view What a strategic place to build an acropolis like this right? Really cool. I don't know what this used to be? But that actually looks like.. a huge kind of stone couch Look at that. You can just recline there And then there's a pass way through there And where does this go? The size of these walls. Look how tall they are And all these pass ways Amazing Okay, I can go this way This way Okay, I think I am officially lost I think I tried.. all the ways to get out of here No, also not this way It's just massive Ah, this is where I came I think Alright, that was the site Wow, really, really cool.
