I just retrieved Savannah because Savannah slept inside last night as well The owners were like.. yeah let's put your baby inside, you never know what can happen so I was like okay, cool So Savannah, had a nice warm sleep as well Let me show what my plan is for today because it's going to be a long day today Because I am now here in Palapye And my plan is to first take this road right to the border with South Africa And then I want to ride parallel to the border There's a dirt road here, alongside the Limpopo River To an area which is called Tuli Block And then I'll make a left and it's not on the map but somewhere here, there's a place called Bobonong and that's where I am planning to stay tonight But this whole stretch it doesn't look very far but it's 366 kilometers And the big majority of it will be unpaved so I better get going Okay, my navigation says it's 6 and half hours riding So it will be a long day And actually look at these dark clouds The first 100 kilometers, that is paved So I am going to try to cover that first 100 k quickly on the paved road And then I think the interesting part will start and the beautiful scenery and all of that Oh, I just missed my turn off I'm supposed to take that dirt road here Not sure, there's a big gate here Oh maybe I'm on the wrong road Sand road Okay I'll try another way Yeah, this is the right one Oh this bridge has seen the best of it's time Oh this river is very, very dry. So this must be A side arm of the Limpopo River I think Yeah.. so on that side, I'm riding now parallel to the border with South Africa And the border is right at the Limpopo River See, you see it here. So that black line.. oh That's the border on the Limpopo River and now I'm just crossing a side arm but it's very, very dry But I actually, I don't know if I'll come close enough to actually see the Limpopo River Because there is just bush on the side the whole time And the fences so.. I don't think.. well, I hope I'll still see it That will be nice but I actually doubt it a little bit It's funny that actually on my map this road is called Sand road In the beginning it was really, really sandy Now it's kind of gravel With a little bit of sand every now and then But I find it quite funny that this road is just called Sand road Ah we got another bridge Pretty much in the same state Also dry Well we got a little bit of Limpopo River right here Oh, there's another big gate Thank you No shooting sign And I saw a sign ' Don't leave the main road because anti- poaching teams and police or something.. will shoot you' Okay Copy that Look at elephant Ha, look there I almost passed him Hey big guy He seems quite relaxed Oh he is missing one of his tusks Hey Okay, I better go Ah nah, it's still relaxed I didn't see any elephant footprint yet or droppings.. nothing and then suddenly Got this elephant here Amazing right? It just never gets boring to see big animals like this He's just chilling Alright let's go Leave that big guy alone Well now I definitely have to keep my eye out for elephant All the other times, I would first see the droppings, then I see a lot of footprints But I hadn't seen any of those yet And then whoop There they pop up out of nowhere There's a giraffe there Oh that's a big one.
