[Music] so in London England for my first trip I reached out on Instagram and everybody said you have to go to Denmark Street that's where all the cool guitar shops are as where all the history is so my friend Philip Conrad and I are about to jump on the tube and make a pilgrimage to Denmark Street [Music] are we made it to trains and coffee and a pastry later here - 64 330 original case that music master pretty sweet you'll get it how are you thank you think sounds like a whole tree this is a 65 64 sounds pretty good [Music] [Music] [Music] these are great for that like 65 yes 3:30 this was like good shape - mmm all right so we checked out three stores so far we're about to go into 60 60 sounds so heard this is a really cool shop to check out and then we're gonna go down to the car ease I'm gonna try and get my hands on a our color sound because you can't get them in the States [Music] [Music] sounds like that that's right [Music] [Music] [Applause] that doesn't suck 66 training sounds which is the street that was like the premier studio no streets but a good friend you know there the store that if you talked about carrying on the lineage they're like integral to the kind of previous years of Denmark Street McCurry's which were on Denmark Street they've now consolidated into one store there were actually the first store on Denmark Street so I worked there before I set this up and just like a supremely interesting store you know they've been established for over 60 years hendrik shop there just about every rock star you can think as passed through their doors so you still have stores that now have a lineage and a link to that time that are existing you know right up until 2019 and then you've got lots of new stores like ourselves so you know we open just under two years ago and very aware of the history very keen to carry it on yeah but obviously it's like a new dawn and and I think what I'm really excited about is the owners of this street the landlord's have just invested 350 million pounds in the area so not the area at large solely on Denmark Street and the whole idea is to revamp rewrap and essentially repack the Screamers so we just left 60 60 sounds super cool guys over there played a really cool 66 Trini Lopez so now we're headed to makar YZ which from everything I've heard is like one of the og spots around here I want to check out a color sound pedal because I've been trying to get my hands on one for a long time and you can't get them in the States so we go play some stuff yeah we from the panel said I'm gonna try to get a good way bro [Music] yeah so if you walk out the door here at makaras you're go past made calm which the furniture shop yeah that was Jennings originally where my uncle was the manager from 1956 so he sold the stuff to the Beatles and the stones and the shadows and all that stuff there which is pretty damn cool and then in 65 he got a shot with my dad in Denmark Street which was second turning right yes it was the first music shop in demo mastery and the guys from Vox had this fuzz circuit idea Tom Jennings wasn't interested in it he thought they're all nuts and they came to my dad and my uncle my said of your over Gary Hurst in particular said do you think you could do anything with this you know it I think the kids are gonna go nuts for it satisfaction had just come out yeah they'd use the maestro I've said one on that but the tone bender was the first British for us and they said yeah let's make it a market it and of course the wrists history really if the right people got hold of it Jeff Beck got one obviously keep on running Spencer Davis group so that's the first big hit with it and it just went berserk from there yeah that's the mark 1 the mark 2 of course ended up on Led Zep 1 yeah the mark 1 eventually ended up on all the Bowie's stuff the 1.4 it was developed into the fuzz face so it was the Hendrix thing right and then obviously through the 70s all the British rock bands used it and it became the sort of British for sale yeah it isn't how we make a living you know we sold guitars so this is just something we're immensely proud of yeah we try and make it to the very very highest standards we can and as a tribute to my dad my uncle really amazing two of them left original 70 z-tech transistors in there this is our latest version of the mark 4 get some amorphous awesome out bastard to oca2 these anniversary 44 32 that's during my using germanium pedal hybrid silicon and germanium and that end up in the middle price-wise no silicon to raise the game yeah germanium to give you the texture right there's a germanium diode at the end which just gives it a cleaner they go sped out if you might impale yeah and then you don't get out the silica collaboration with Dave Ranger of freakin Stein so TC tone bender TC tone bender TC tome and up freakin bender oh and there's fuzz sound so yeah we've got a lot of amazing pedals I could just talk leave you to have a blast sure yeah absolutely if we get it down to say we've got it down to the mark 4 we could then try the other variation okay cool [Music] basic like just that tone knob going from like 11 o'clock tat to whoa sounds like a completely different pedals is the new world of fuzz you know the guitars resonate she's a tone bender mark for I think I like return winner ANCA that's what's inside these are original 1960 Maillard ocat 30s and they're green and I know you can't smell them on the screen but I smell fantastic oh yeah smell old yeah they're proper that's the real deal Wow you know there's people making fakes for these now and you can ask you buy fake mallards mono c75 named Katie's world's going nuts are you ready for my kit I want to but I can't ordinate I just want you to experience huh this is just one in the fall Oh [Music] it but that's I mean you you heard that's the best one yeah that's that's noticeably better that's they're all excellent that is like if God played a fuzz Joe Strummer is is smiling upon that one if you didn't get that one I would probably get this one or this one what deed of the yellow or the tone bender mark for I really like the the hybrid I like what it does but it's pretty similar to some fuzz has already have this one's really unique and it's cooled its bit crazy in that I said 15 think it's 15 turn the camera off Phil yeah yes when you go through Kathleen you can see a thing with that it's cool globally enjoy all right Damon thank you very much see you later Thank You Mikey thank you for the history wise it looks good [Music] all right we gotta get back to Greenwich so that's officially the most money I have ever spent and we'll hopefully ever spend by the swaddle you
