[Music] hey I'm Aaron Franklin Welcome to Austin Texas we're going to do breakfast lunch and dinner today going to do lunch at the old high tower then we're going to go to lret for dinner but first my favorite little taco stand bear Cruz all [Music] natural well I'm going to go to outpath store on flower no cilantro and then also let me get a barboa the same way and I would love to have a doctor away small and that's it I really like this place we don't really have a ton of great Mexican food but this place all natural ingredients they really care their salces are super great and they got juice [Music] too so this is a Barbacoa Taco that's beef traditionally it's been cooked in the ground it's generally just a tad bit on the gy side it's shreddy pulls apart it's really really tender this stuff also cooks for a very very long time it's got avocado on it cheese onions now this one is alpastor that's pork there's a few different styles alpastor depending on which region it's coming from this one is a Mexico City Style it's got red Chili's pineapple it's really really good I like mine with avocado and cheese the ingredients of this place are super duper good they Source everything really well that's really why I come here this was a great breakfast now that I got some food in my belly I'm going to get back to work for a little bit check some fires and then off to [Music] lunch ah what a great warmup breakfast tacos and ver Cru all natural H I'm ready for lunch though it's the high tower all right so we're here at the high tower in East Austin these guys open in 2014 great little neighborhood spot they're open for lunch they're open for brunch they're open for dinner and they've got great cocktails and good craft beers so needless to say I eat here a lot so I got the brisket sandwich big fan of this stuff it's so tender you know the brisket sandwich reminds me of my grandma's pot roast and that is probably really why I order it you know it tastes nothing like what we do at frankco barbecue it's tender it's got chimmy cherry on it tons of garlic in here this bread is awesome it's just a really really good sandwich I feel like I need some greens feel like I need some roughage ah brussels sprouts the thing I really like about these again going with the very bold flavors it's got peanut butter that seems like such a weird thing for brussels sprouts I think it works no better way to wrap up a heavy lunch than want a light fluffy dessert got a buttermilk pie here it's garnished with mint it's got pretzel crumbles on top super light and fluffy I'm kind of thinking I'm almost getting hungry again for dinner something thick heavy bold I think I'm going to going to head over to the [Music] LR so here we are at the leret I smell a really good meal that's about to [Music] happen hey so here we are with Renee Ortiz hello thanks for having me absolutely so we ate here when you guys first opened and the thing that I thought was so cool is you know we're sitting here and we knew somebody at almost every table we just kind of know everybody it's like cheers it's just a great community that we have here in Austin that's a tighten it and um yeah they're all family they're all friends I'm just kind of hanging out what's we got it's a snpp rudo with uh Roto chilies uh lemon and shirodashi oh man dude that is some kind of good you know I mean I love how creamy the avocado is fish is there the peppers is there the oil is there and then you get just a little crunch of the fried garlic and then you get just you know it's like so many things going on as you kind of mix it up in your mouth a little bit oh oh yeah man I totally get it all right so we got the Pate all right yeah the livers we get from Marana peeler Who's down south uh who's raising amazing chickens man I'm totally going to dig in cheers man oh so good that's easily one of the best Pates in town thank you [Music] hey guys here we go I'm just going to grab a chair and hang out this is Laura sui Pac your Chef extraordinaire so this one do you tell um so this is the birthday cake ice cream sandwich um I have to tell you I insist that you eat it with your hands so there you go thank you um it's um you know it's just a an homage to Childhood it's just about having fun and an excuse to have sprinkles on a dessert it really t tastes like birthday cake tast it's just so much fun and then you get to do this and let this be a lesson on how to eat a really really great day birth of food here in Austin Texas started off with breakfast tacos at ver Cruz all natural brisket sandwich at the high tower and a pretty decadent meal here at the LR thank you guys thank you
