at the end of this video I'm meeting with a friend who says he has a truck full of games only problem is I have no idea what he has or how much he wants so I need plenty of profits from these sales so I can have a lot of room to negotiate oh my God oh my gosh are you seeing this right now [Music] I have the Wii but but I don't know I don't know it's in a box in the house okay take a look and make a good offer if you want to bring it out okay why don't you give me your number are you guys from around here I'm just going to set them in the house there it is right there that's a classic pros and cons ask for games she brought them up had us look at them but they weren't hers that's a pretty hard con usually it's hard to get stuff that doesn't belong to her still got her number texted and uh she's gonna check with her son yeah we didn't get any of it but back at the first house she did manage to find everything that she was talking about [Music] nice yeah Xbox Playstation Xbox if I left the balance board I'd probably give you like 50 bucks this doesn't have a hard drive it's just the slim internal model if that hard drive it'd be a little bit more and of course with that head game should be a good bit more but okay gets it out of my basement perfect perfect so first sale of the day panned out the pro she delivered on her promise she found us games there was PS1 games that'd be great yeah that would have been nice still a great score in two systems about six connect games controllers have corrosion kind of garage sales competition yes this person just zoomed my bias and it just ran out of the car so the con here is competition of course but actually there's a pro in this scenario too this person was so intent on hitting every sale as quickly as possible that they left a lot of really nice stuff behind and that's kind of a dumb way to sail which in this case works out for us got any video games of any kind Nintendo PlayStation Wii BS Sega Xbox honestly I'm surprised that we don't also if there's other Pros or cons that you see in your area of garage sales let me know in the comments you need a new sprinkler the classic garage sale Pro cheap stuff that you actually need I just paid like 30 bucks for one of these Sprinklers and I needed one more foreign [Music] how about eight that's true okay yeah all right okay all right we're gonna buy a blend okay so we walked away with some mystery Pokemon cards and some Halo figures but there's a little bit of pro and con here the con sometimes people remember what they paid for an item maybe 20 years ago and that can heavily dictate the price for what they charge now even if it doesn't really retain any value anymore in this instance she probably paid about 80 bucks for this bag of Transformers toys and asking fifty dollars for them today is probably going to be out of the price range of just about any buyer or collector but then the pro she was willing to negotiate on some stuff even if things are marked high at a garage sale you never know how much a person is willing to negotiate and it never hurts to respectfully ask okay actually procon of garage sales uh sometimes you need to fly and jet to the next neighborhood competition is already picking up so uh we can't open up the Pokemon right now so stay we're gonna do it later so we travel to the next neighborhood and this first house has some tells that there could be some video games what I mean is sometimes if there's teenage or High School type stuff at the sale they may have older kids at home that has some video games that they're no longer using looking for uh video games today do you have any old Nintendo Wii DS but after asking we weren't so lucky here refrigerator would you like it anything free no hey Pro it's free Khan It's usually all garbage I did find a Dragon Quest 7 for uh PS2 once that they thought was a VHS in a free box it's the big big box version of it wow pretty awesome that's cool doesn't have any video games okay EBS or Nintendo I couldn't switch my brother oh yeah Xbox um I do have an old DS somewhere I think but I don't know where it's at okay here's another way to ask for items instead of saying hey do you have games here say hey do you have any video games inside a lot of times when you ask for something out of sale people are just thinking about what is out there and they'll just say no because no that's out there but really they might be willing to sell something that they just forgot about inside looking for uh video games today third person third person to ask already kind of video games it's like Nintendo Sega um you ever have anything like that so the obvious con here was we were too late to the sail and other people had already asked for video games but what if there was a pro here I would say that sometimes people ask for video games before you and it actually like starts to jog the memory or bring it to the front of their attention that they actually do have some video games they start to think about it after saying no and in some cases if you make the right connection you might actually bring them up for you and I'll be honest I actually used to skip sales if I knew that competition had already been in the area but knowing what I know now I I wouldn't do that again all right I have a preemptive Pro con I think the pro here is going to be there is stuff that is profitable the con will be it's just not for us for various reasons and often it's gonna be really big really old really tough to find comps um or we just have a hard time selling in general like we don't have a big local game you know compared to a lot of other people things online that have high demand that move quickly a lot of times that are small so yeah and uh it's aging pretty well here as I was saying years ago I probably would have skipped this sale but I was super surprised at what we saw foreign so I just looked up this air compressor and there's similar things like sold but a lot smaller but there's two listed one in pretty rough shape for a hundred dollars and one in pretty good shape for three hundred dollars so like everything is incredibly reasonable you couldn't have been more right here for 50 bucks yeah Pickers would be all over that's their inspiration the American Pickers they would buy that in a fight if somebody's collecting that and paying big money for it let's look it up here's a 1958 Johnson motor that went for 350. it's pretty similar to that which they're asking a hundred it looks like that one's in similar condition look at that sale just look at Acres all the way and uh four pictures of video games [Music] next several sales all we really heard was oh we've already been asked you're the third or fourth person stuff like that but honestly that's just kind of the reality of garage sales I know we usually showcase a lot of our successes on this channel for garage sailing but honestly most of those successes come after about 12 or 20 sales of strikeouts it can be a bummer to be let down so frequently and even with all the no's that we've been hearing this one hit really hard looking for video games today old we DS Nintendo stuff Sega saw the thing oh did you anything else lingering around she had just sold some video games earlier and we asked if there happened to be anything that was left behind but it was highly unlikely that she'd be able to get to them anytime soon but if you remember what I said earlier it's not smart to just walk away we found these vintage trains in their boxes and if you've been around the channel for a little bit you'll know that we're pretty familiar with trains here I think these will be some solid scores they actually knew what they were going for on eBay but they were still willing to cut a deal and sell them for Less the Christmas tree okay so okay I'll pay the 70 then okay perfect I appreciate it Alex seemed to be picking up but then I got a call that really piqued my interest I mentioned at the beginning of a video that we'd be meeting up with a friend who's going to be bringing me some video games but he just called me was something equally as interesting okay so a lot of stuff just happened uh real quick we got we got these trains um Lionel and uh she said this one's worth 250 on eBay did you validate that that's fairly accurate it might be worth like 150 200 bucks so normally that's a big con when somebody says oh this is worth this on eBay it usually means they're asking for that much but she only has 50 bucks yeah so I really think we got at least 200 in value and we paid 70. so it's 130 in clean profit could be more plus 80 I think is what we were at so but the other thing that happened yes we were at 80 70. 80. we're at 80 before yep so we're 250 now no 150 130 math 210. 210 in profit and we just got a call from our buddy Michael who's been on the channel he's in town as well he said there's a sale with a ton of Pokemon cards sealed stuff he thinks his priced pretty reasonably it's not really his area of expertise so we're gonna leave this neighborhood and just go there this is very urgent so quick Pro con with that we're leaving a neighborhood on a hunch we leave this neighborhood competition sweeps it up they've already been through it looks like and there ends up being nothing at this sale that we're going to what was that did we just run over something I don't know oh it always hurts my heart to pass a different sale but we're one minute away now so we're about to head up to it now the obvious Pro here it's not every day you come across a sale with this many Pokemon cards but there is a con almost always attached to something like this just about everything is priced at or even above what the current market on eBay might be so in order for this to be successful I've got to find out if he only just wants top dollar or if maybe he wants it to be gone what would you got have room for on this in the seven what are you thinking I do 100 bucks 120. I just I stick with 100 100 bucks cash none of that 11 whatnot fees he's pulling the whatnot fees we don't do much with cards on there you do 100 okay so now that I've seen that he is willing to negotiate hopefully we can make some deals and negotiate some more on some other stuff would you do 20 for this one yeah all right it's like I'd want to probably at least 1 30 10 30. I might make a play on this whole binder depending we've already sealed the deal on these for 120. all right blow it out price for the whole thing I'm wondering probably not many people that would ask that question trying to get a gauge of what's here but let's go out of two to fives I think you've got some twins I guess with the binder that's a factor for me how about 140 I I did not factor that into my mind because I want one anyway we're negotiating on this binder doing a lot of back and forth and work out a deal on some more graded cards along the way promo all right we're at 390 what'd you do 10 on this what is 400 . yeah because I like it I was going to ask what an even number 400 yeah we're on the same page cool now this took quite a while to do so let's talk about a pro and con here the pro negotiating can ensure that you get a good collection piece or even some margin for reselling the con they could just say no immediately or even you could spend too much time negotiating on a bunch of items that pan out to nothing massive Pokemon deal just sealed really worked with me a lot we made a deal for everything in my hands for 400 bucks including a binder full of top loaded awesome cards I'm very very excited about it comfortably comfortably we can add 200 in profit it might be more I'm not sure of it we'll have to figure that out back at the game Barn after nearly doubling our profits we're feeling great but the next couple sales didn't pan out too well pros and cons of that one there was absolutely nothing [Music] bro there they have stuff Khan it's not there none of this stuff was at that house so that's the that's the kicker multiple ladies there that had stuff and actually the the initial answer again was no yep and I threw in the line of like stuff you got stuff buried away in the basement still what about uh video games or anything like that Nintendo video game wise is I have Wii stuff oh okay yeah did I just pass it oh it's in the stacks yeah okay as far as I know it's everything that it needs so yeah [Music] Game Boy okay yep we had 25 for both the bags yeah okay yeah well I'm glad I asked I didn't even see him in the back thank you very much thank you so much I feel dumb almost walked right by it the moment when you asked for games and they're right in front of your face I think that'll add 75 bucks in profit so we're putting us at 485. wow it's been a better day than expected we're gonna back up just to show you what this sale looks like like you truly have to hit everything and ask everywhere because we just found you know one of the better finds of today at that there's one small table and a bin of books and you didn't even notice the weeds were there no they were in a plastic bag like [Music] paid five for this it's brand new so just bought it blind it looks like it's worth about 20 bucks so 15 in profit and then paid two for this it has a McDonald's Palkia Pokemon and then the Power Rangers figure that's probably worth at least 10 bucks I'm gonna seal that in because I I think that's conservative even still eight bucks profit there so 23 adding to the total of 485 so five gosh can we round down 500 sure look at 500. 500 in conservative profit is a great place to be but I still want to build up a lot more because I don't know how much my friend Michael will actually bring for me oh my God oh my gosh more garage sales more no's but then we asked for games and get invited into a basement this guy guy I saw some comment that said uh we should change the name of the channel to basement buddies because we've been in so many basements this year like how many episodes in a row is this I don't even know it's getting out of hand foreign [Music] boxes looking for games and more but if you ever find yourself in this position it's probably smart to ask for more so I asked for sports cards and I was truly surprised on what he brought out this one's my favorite one right here I'd be interested if you want to sell them the wcd is not really a reputable grader but they're still cool cards yeah so LeBron's my guy he wasn't quite sure what he wanted to ask for the cards but we're talking LeBron James rookies here so we looked up the value and went from there I think we need to make it an effort to get into a basement in every single episode we're doing all right come on hit the like button for three weeks in a row uh 90 bucks all in got some sports cards graded by nobody so pros and cons pros there was stuff there was sports cards cons they were created by a nobody organization do you no longer exists it's completely it doesn't matter the grade it's not a real ten it's a rock hard PSA is what you want bgs SGC CSG good luck keeping track of that if you're new to this sports cards are confusing then 44 the way that's I was gonna I was gonna say 50 but at the same time we have no idea if it works if it was from all the kids nca13 helps yes for 360 you got some connect games I think the value comfortably is going to be 120 on that okay we'll call it 80 bucks in profit so that puts our running profit up to 580 we didn't end up factoring the LeBrons into the profit category because the sold comps that we looked up were kind all over the place it's hard to come up with an actual value and I honestly might resubmit them to PSA or something and and keep them for myself [Music] thank you there's one oh I think the other ones are those vs games yeah oh yeah there's like there's those two in there as well there you go oh thank you thank you clear it out yeah all right well two dollar no hauler on these profit nothing because we've struck out at the last several sales and we've been wasting time after more flops more of the same cons we've been talking about we honestly decided just to give up before hitting one more sale for you yeah you know what these sets are like complete in the veggies or like 99 sure so didn't think we'd be getting much so we took off the mics yeah but nobody this must be the one little section of town that most competitions will come to because this entire maps of Legos was on the table and I got it for 20 bucks and then we asked we asked for games and it was clearly the first time they had been asked where did that go they said they had DS it's down there oh it'd be hard to get it out oh no yes yes 20 bucks 20 bucks no games that's the that's the kick that's DS's are pretty exciting if they have games and so you've mentioned they used to have a fire red so we asked for more games and he's actually going to grab an Xbox one I believe we might be getting that as well so they did end up bringing out the Xbox One like they said uh this is a system that takes forever to reset to get good to go to sell it takes a lot of work but for 40 bucks I'll pick it up and it's the original Xbox one I'm just gonna call it 40 bucks in profit it will be sitting for a while but I think we can still considerably get that once it sells so the pro here I have more inventory the con probably won't move very quickly for me so we've been to five more sales about to hit five more this is the part of the day where you strike out even more the asks don't pan out as much so con after con we hit about 10 more sales in the last part of the day and they were all picked over but before we recap all the pros and cons for the day my friend Michael who you guys have seen on the channel before is about to meet up with us and he's bringing a truck full of retro games so I hope I have enough in profit to buy what he has I don't know what he has into everything so I hope I've got enough profits to be able to make the purchase all right so here's Michael we just had lunch together at Taco smell and uh you've got some stuff for me just some all right all right let's hope it doesn't fall shoot okay games a computer oh please Logitech Mac Mini can I peek yeah there's a Wii okay why don't we take it like piece by piece did you see something yes dude this is this is nice stuff I like this I'm hoping you didn't pay this nope what do you want for it the shades on huh about 225 plus shipping yeah which means I'm netting about 200. okay but how about 120. that's pretty good yeah you making 50 bucks on that yeah exactly good perfect PS3 games were these just out of DVDs I was like I can't counter that yeah this is the box for so it doesn't have the killer Cuts music series how about three maybe maybe three yeah it's like 50. cool so how about uh he's bringing more and I'm pretty excited because he seems a little bashful about what is coming this is a nice complete ten bucks all right box only 10 bucks another Wii bundle lead bundles are everywhere plus a Wii U I like the sticker on that no Gamepad no Gamepad three Sports nice Vendetta they're two Wii Sports yes horse Resort the games I need oh what is there four five six I don't know what's in there I didn't check yeah Sports two a Wii kind of rough shape yeah um Wii U just the console for those that don't know the console is the least valuable part of a Wii U the GamePad is the most expensive part and then this some quick math 100 bucks 100 bucks 250 in profit added so far but the buy costs 340. so not quite doubling up you ready for one of the Grails oh I see four already four USB ports that means backwards compatible for those that don't know in the original I like that sticker they come with everything in here too no it's time yeah this is uh all the cords and I think two controllers are controller at least stuff [Music] PS3 controller oh geez okay have you had a chance to test PS3 I did test this one it works but did you reset it for us no that's that's one of my favorites all right so we'll probably just match whatever you paid then yeah really yeah we can we can do that yeah give you cash back yeah I'm unsubscribing 135 backwards compatible PS3 two controllers I think you did pretty well on that one based on the sticker all right I'll add 135. my total is at 475 so far so uh 17 each that's 35. those are just all day dang I didn't even know those were in there Donkey Kong 64 gold Knight classic couple random accessories um 50 done all right we're at 559 now um so I just paid 34 bucks here these are games that I just want him to keep selling me so I pay just about what he would get after fees of selling on eBay and I use them to bundle with Nintendo so I just pay up on those same for the Wii Sports I paid up even though their disco only rough shape I still paid 10 12 bucks a piece and then just paid 50 on these three right here popular titles you know that kind of average 30 bucks a piece so 90 bucks in value and paid 50. oh my gosh wow what the heck that's a nice stack of Wii games Sports Resort okay these are clean too very clean yeah yeah he's from inside yeah it started off this is jewelry deal really and ended up with a lot more Michael's main uh gig is reselling jewelry you can see the gold chains um that that's like the uh it's strategic though my right yeah you wear those to be strategic you say I paid x amount for this which you might have paid it years ago or whatever yeah but it's still like just showing that yeah I paid 300 bucks for this do you have gold that's the value it's differentiation I've learned stuff from you um so if you want to sell your jewelry he's actually my jewelry guy I sell my gold and silver to him because he pays way more than like any shop anywhere and he said that we can put his email so we'll take a picture of your card or we'll put it let's put it in the description we'll do it all we'll do it all perfect if you have Julie if you got real gold and silver and you don't have an outlet he would like to I definitely have your business and I stand by him his Integrity is there so he'll be fair with you the chase seal of approval yes yeah you'll probably have to send pictures and do all those things but pictures in that maybe an asking price or an idea of what you have be very clear all right so for this this stack here how many thousand we talk maybe a couple at least points 150 160. all right one six okay I'm leaving about I would say like a 75 percent as opposed to 100 double up so 719 times 0.75 is what the profit will be Super Nintendo just a little bit you said a little bit more yeah well that is a little bit oh my God oh my gosh are you seeing this right now what what is that Earth found what do you know about this this is like the fourth Earthbound you've found in the wild yeah that's probably the fourth one you bought for me yeah holy cow put it on the resume at this point for the found Champion but this is like these are dirty but Donkey Kong Mega Man X [Music] Zombies Ate My Neighbors it's nothing but good Super Mario Kart Star Fox Mario awesome ooh Turtles let's go turtles in time great game a couple mile worlds Petra stock for Mario there's more under it of course there is dividers Paige Master Beethoven f-zero oh there's Captain America and the Avengers Power Rangers who is this a Lion King the only one worse than the Earthbound it's unfortunate that has the label damage but still it's Earthbound and it's definitely authentic so because there's label damage and stuff 60. and point out where we made fake yeah a couple two three hundred by itself should we look it up live 300 in this condition you think let's see what it's like look it up live I think in like great condition Earthbound has gotten up to the 400 plus range but people definitely like when you're talking expensive games condition makes a huge difference decent condition on bid 368 200 400 why would somebody sell it for 200 bucks don't don't do open bid on really nice items that's hard not 315. so it's only worth 200. maybe well you tip because the label damage yeah 350. I think like so even in decent shape they're going for 320 to 400. if you guys don't know Michael's buy that had Earthbound and other SNES games in it was insane he got up those games for honestly about five dollars a piece on average and paying five dollars for Earthbound this is mine up here is absolutely insane that's probably about a three to four hundred dollar cartridge by itself um I think like 250 to 275 is a reasonable guess yeah all the way up to 450 on really great condition cartridges like I might try to get 300 I have to take an offer and then you've got a lot of other stuff a lot of goods a lot of goods second best probably being Turtles four which is probably like what 50. more in great shape 500 bucks I'm not gonna negotiate with that I was gonna say 400 so I started at my higher offer 500 is good I mean I appreciate you bringing me the good stuff I want to pay out for it so I hope to be to be your guy on video games and you'll always be my God jewelry I wish I would find you as much as you found me but I told them with you 1219 bucks do you like to round up a dollar for the Michael cash charity organization I would be happy to 12 20 out the door don't forget to hit up Michael if you got jewelry gold whatever just sell not costume jewelry I mean no I didn't quite get the 1200 in profit that I ended up spending with Michael but I ended up using some business money for the rest of the purchase and all in all this was a really good buy deal is done deal is done 1220 bucks spent we're gonna call it 800 bucks in profit yeah that was easy yes it was so as a whole in my experience these are some of the most regular pros and cons that you may run into at garage sales the pros good times with good finds retro games Collectibles cards the ceiling the upside is super high it's a lot of fun you can find tons of amazing items for cheap that you can flip for really good margins meet some amazing people maybe develop a super solid side hustle or even a full-time business ultimately you're going to be able to create some incredible memories and stories that you'll be able to share for years to come but now the cons uh competition is everywhere you have to go early and often and be resilient takes a lot of work you can find very dirty very nasty very smoky items consistently there will be sales that are picked over very frequently you're gonna get a lot of no's when you ask for games you may run into people that aren't so pleasant and you might not have voicing your hard-earned money on something that didn't end up being good as you thought or like console that just doesn't work at all let me know what other pros and cons you experience at garage sales I know for me there's good days and bad days but as a whole I don't think I'd have built this business if it was going terribly for me it's hard work but those that put in the work get the reward whether it's amazing pieces for the collection or profits for the betterment of your life check out one of these videos YouTube knows you're gonna love them thanks for watching okay Moment of Truth here we go oh okay Yu-Gi-Oh and yay [Music]
