The BEAST Is Here...Yamaha Tri z 250!!! (EXTENDED 12 INCHES)

[Music] [Music] what a beautiful day to take up a new machine nice and windy nice and rainy doesn't get much better than that yeah I'm pretty pumped for today so today we're gonna be picking up something that I've never owned before will quick check it out on the computer it is a 1985 try Z 250 two-stroke liquid cool guys check this thing out so it's two-stroke has all new tires adult driven for 25 years comes with stock swing arm full set up studded tires to reel pedal tires to rear turf tires set runs Dre drives great no issues with that has a 12 inch extended swing arm I think it's insane huh look at that thing looks so weird but it was up for 3,300 bucks oh yeah I was up for 3,300 bucks and the guy came down to 2500 so I'm pretty pumped about that I'll zoom in on the picture here that was bored over a little bit so there's that yeah the rims look really nice everything looks really nice on it there's one small rip in the seat I'll show you guys that picture as well we'll rip on the seat right there isn't a huge deal you know it's fun to seat cover for it but it's all stock you can see this whole thing is stock pretty much all the graphics and stuff stock on it I can see this missing the graphics right here and for the back under that big deal has a stock pipe on it amongst it goes a blast registered in 2010 here all the tires for it you got the sand dune tires yep you the original wands and then you got a full studded tire set right here so it's pretty nice piece Lee would not go lower than 25 and yeah so I think the plan is for this thing go pick her up start her up take it for a quick ride see what it's like I've never read one of these especially with the 12 inch extended swing arm we're gonna have to do some off the gunshots at this like zero to sixty do some drag races it'd be sweet to take it to like a drag race track and just rip it do some hill climb so that would be awesome take those pal tires good like a sandy Doolin just rip it around it a little survey on YouTube here and it seems like you guys like the Yamaha yz250 R it was either between the Yamaha yz250 R or the model Banshee 43% of you guys want the molly-o Banshee which I could get next video - I am not opposed to doing that or the Tri z250 are 70 or 57% of you guys chose a Yamaha so we're going with that I'm gonna let the subscribers vote in this one and we're gonna go pick up the Yamaha yz250 are hopefully you guys are happy with this I've never owned one before so it should be pretty interesting the guys right in appleton so let's sit over there pick her up right there in the garage soppy all these machines are costing thousands of dollars and uh yeah so that should be interesting but anyway we're off to the bank let's go see if we can get the money out [Music] correct guys we got about 60 minutes left before we get there hopefully this thing isn't a pile of junk and just wasting my time hopefully it's awesome I'm gonna look over this thing completely try to take it for a ride in this rain but should be interesting oh yeah should be interesting but yeah it should be good let's get there see if this thing looks like America's Got the crowds II in the back there took it for a rib roast pretty good actually it's actually a lot more stable than the 8c 250 our head so it's pretty dang good can't complain about too much the plug did follow when I was riding it so that's a little bit concerning but other than that it's pretty good the guy will endure for 25 years and I think it was pretty sad to see it go but it looks pretty clean it's missing the front brake which kind of sucks so we might have to get a new front brake caliper and brake line but yeah that's that's the only bad thing about it the spring arm was custom made twelve inch extended swing are made from the original spoon the swing arm so it was pretty cool so that was very expensive to custom-make other than that I think it's bone stock I've never been it taken apart or anything this will go home quick started to help deal walk around and I'll see what this thing sounds like a pretty pump too see what happens we gotta go pick up some new spark plugs though because it's been sitting for like nine years so we'll pick up some your spark plugs get some new gas flowing through it and we should be good to go all right back at the apartment a quick little walk around and we'll take it back to my parents house I've got all the tires here doing tires ice tires original swingarm are cool brand new back tires will go along this swing arm is crazy liquid cooled pretty decent shape for an 85 lights work up there backlight works some road tires see that's pretty nice nice little machine check out the chain on that thing crazy long alright guys just get back to my parents house the weather's really really crappy alright now it's raining super windy got the Tri Z in the back here we're going to try to get all the crap out of it all the tires and all that stuff in the garage unload this thing and hopefully start it up with the extended swing arm it's gonna be a little bit tough to get a track hopefully I can do it I was happy easy to do here is let's clear inside and half see if this thing starts [Music] [Music] all right so this is it check out that stance thing is crazy it's got the 12 inch extended swing arm you can see where they welded it up the original ones right here with the guard right there but if you compare to check that out so much that things extended so extended quite a bit had the bag on the exhaust was raining all day and all night so we'll take that off there pretty much this all stock so it's got the headlights those both work brand-new front tire like I said before there's one tiny dent in the piper right here but it's not a big deal he said it did overheat at one point and he had to replace the water pump because when the cool nights a week but he fixed that he's got the little boost like all the Yamahas have right there like though yz4 90 I don't know why they put those on there and then looks like it's the original carburetor you can see this 246 CC it's got the gas petcock right here and like down here it looks like as well so there's two I'm not really sure all this works I've never seen that before original see down here says Yamaha full rip not too bad tail light works tires are good in the back they're like brand-new in the back back brake works shifts through all the gears perfectly looks like the carburetor was just gone through and putting lines on has adjustable shock in the back show you guys that quick right here so softer and harder so harder gonna be twisted it's twisting it to the right softer to the left so that's pretty nice what else new plastics in the back new OEM plastics and in the front glass registered in 2010 said he hasn't ridden it for a long time the previous owner he said you owned it for 25 years yeah came with a full set of tires this one's for the front this wheel was for the front wheel right there you got some pal tires right here the back one right there what are these Kenda get go of tires what those are and then you've got some road tires right here so you got a pair of road tires and then yeah the studded tires for the back right there as well so I think he ice race this a couple times you said they said didn't compare to but newer stuff so he stopped doing that I'm he said with the extended swing arm you can just pin it and it won't fly off would be back so that's pretty cool so you said it's great for drag races and stuff like that said you can just lay on the throttle and it won't tip back at all so that's pretty cool I said just the front end comes up a little bit like this and then you can just lay on it so that's awesome he said it was bored over a little bit not too much though so technically it is a big bore but not really he said was bored over one time so the cylinder should be good still so underneath the seat here that's kind of unique so we've got the gas tank right here so gas tank is right there then the airbox is up here so you think the gas tank could be right here but it's the other way around and you got the coolant overflow right here you know it's basically at the engines really really easy to work kinda looks like looks like there's a coolant pump on there like right there and then there's a fuel pump somewhere over here and then yeah that's basically it got the original handlebars on that still I don't know what this lights for must be for like the lights but you get the controls for the lights high and low beam got the thumb throttle right here other than that that's pretty much it pretty simple machine pretty much exactly like a Honda ATC 250 are not much difference there I was looking I was doing a little bit of research and they said that the Tri Z's are a little bit bigger than ATC 250 hours and they're like a little bit more stable I guess they said that the ATC 250 hours have six years this model is 1985 and this one has five gears I believe in 86 they stopped production they made a couple of them six gears and then they kind of stopped production and those were all six gears the 86 is they're a little bit more rare but the 85 s were nice too so I believe they only made these for about a year and a half which is why they're so expensive because they're pretty rare it's got the senior shocks on it I know a lot of guys do go inverted shocks right here for upgrades like if you were to race it and jump it and stuff radiator looked good I went through all those there's no big cracks in the radiator or anything all the fins look like they're in good shape the frame I look through no cracks in the frame at all I look through the entire frame and then I look underneath the motor if we can see underneath there no cracks in the motor no stripping of the oil screw or anything like that so you should be good to go I woke by the kick lever because I know a lot of the time those are broken and that seemed good that was awesome what else the only thing I don't like about is it's missing front brake I'm a big front brake guy and I always use the front brake so I might have to find one of those on eBay I know the caliper goes for about 150 bucks and then the master cylinder I finally got up for like 20 bucks and then the brake line was like 11 dollars so we're looking at about around $200 to put the front brake on we're just intolerable I mentioned that the guy and you won't go any lower on price but yeah I guess let's start this thing up I know everyone wants to hear it start up the spark plug was fouled again afford brand-new BR no I think it was B 80s plugs is what this thing takes so yeah I got four brand new ones just in case so I'll put a brand new one then fire this bad boy up and see oh she sounds like alright so we got the bag off the back of the sauce here should start up now so with these three wheelers on you're gonna be kicking this thing forward not backwards otherwise you'd be going right into the back fender so give me a couple prime kicks you know just to get warmed up here compression on this thing is crazy just about a feel that we were test impression we're there but decided not to alright let's see if it starts turning to on right here that's the kill switch and I'll just give me the kick oh geez she's mean let's see where's the gas on this thing let's just take a look at the game let's see if his yup that's on right there that looks like it's not on right there it's on whatever I don't know if there's much gas in it but we'll put it unreserve if it runs out gas here let's see if it starts up genius things like compression all right let's see if we can get this thing done choking yeah [Music] [Music] it's on pretty good [Music] [Music] so yeah that's the first startup I took 3 kicks with the choke on and then fired right up so that's pretty good that was with the old plug in it so let's put the new plug in and take this thing for a rip because I'm itching to get out here [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] alright guys so that's a little piece of the beast for you guys definitely needs a smaller main jet I can tell it's just like just like way too big other than that that's running great starts up every kick when it's warm yeah it's a sweet machine it's so stable with those back wheels and they send this swing out it's like awesome super comfortable riding position suspensions awesome on it feels like you're riding a dirt bike handling is a lot better than my ATC 250r and yeah definitely really really cool thing I just picked up so I hope you guys enjoyed the video more to come on this thing next video we'll be taking it with the
