i'm here with my friend jason today jason you got a brand new 2032r four hours on her my question to you right now is have you ever loaded anything with a bucket uh no i've loaded my bucket with my forks but that's about it okay well maybe this is a good opportunity for us we've got a pile of rock here we've got your tractor we've got the loader you said you're a first time tractor operator absolutely wow that's really cool so we're going to go through some elementary steps here of how to adjust your bucket level indicator how to approach a pile and how to actually load something with a loader hopefully it'll help you for your very first time i would appreciate that let's get started jason i think the first thing we need to do is adjust this bucket level indicator i agree what you want to do is you want to have this crook be right here where this bolt is right where this eye bolt is okay so that indicates your bucket is level so what we need to do is have you tilt it downward and you should be able to do that without started so push it away from you keep going keep going stop that's good i believe that's about level okay i think that looks pretty level there it may not be perfect but what i'm going to do is i think this is probably a 12 millimeter but since i've got my fancy nip x or canipex pliers i've always said night packs nipix i don't know what they are but i i guarantee you i'll be corrected no matter what i just said there so what i'm going to do is i'm going to move that crook right up there now part of it is for you to decide what looks right for you where where do you think that needs to be positioned to look like that's right there in the crew i mean honestly that looks about right okay so we'll tighten this up see the bend right above the bar okay but that should that should uh take care of that so so jason what you want to do when you attack a pile is you want to have your bucket level the cutting edge of the bucket level you want to be right on the ground level okay you don't want to attack a pile of rock or material of any sort you don't want to attack it halfway okay you always want to go in at ground level makes sense right that way if it falls it's into the bucket yeah and it's just it just gives you a good way to start now what you'll do is you use your four wheel drive this is a good place to use four-wheel drive okay you use a good bit of throttle okay probably a half throttle or so so you've got make sure you have plenty of tractor power right because usually when you're when you're pushing inward it pushes kind of hard i'd imagine um so you you you take that loader right in there at ground level you push it in now as you begin to get in a little further and your tractor starts to either spin or or pull down a little bit pull your lever towards you to curl your bucket okay right just gently and and your bucket then begins to curl upward and it'll break the material loose in a case of rocks there's not really a breaking that needs to happen but it still sort of breaks it loose and begins to bounce some of that back into your bucket a little further separates the load out from the pile and then you continue to pick it up okay and continue to drive forward into it drive forward while you're doing that then get get it up about mid level here okay and you'll get out of the rock then it's when you do the shake shake i've seen it i've seen it okay and uh we should patent that term christy but the um the purpose of that is to shake off the excess material because if you're going to be hauling rock across someone's yard you don't want to be dribbling rock the whole way you go right so the idea is pick it up and give it a shake and that'll that'll get what's going on and you understand how to do the shake right back and forth left and right on your on your loader stick um until it's kind of bounced a little bit and had some of some of the ones right on the edge fall off okay you want to give it a try absolutely this is a big deal i mean this is jason's very first bucket full look at that clean new shiny bucket is the loader on the ground it's on the ground right now should i pull up some or no you would pull up and then when you get closer drop it back down that's high i enough this is there ought to be some sort of a exciting thing don't you think now shut it off a second only reason i have you shut it off is so we can talk a little easier yep you pushed it in there it went in real easy you've done a perfect job of of going in right and you curled while you were doing it perfectly just like i said now you tried to pick it up and it wouldn't pick it up it was not even trying yeah well that's not a problem okay okay that's that's nothing wrong with the tractor that's nothing wrong with it doesn't matter what brand tractor it doesn't matter you should have got a bigger tractor no right any tractor when you push it all the way into pile any compact tractor push it all the way into a pile like that in fact you're you're even beyond where you got it right um won't be able to pick it up okay so as you continue upward again will be about half throttle right as you continue upward you'll back a little bit out of the pile to relieve a little bit of that pressure okay and that's one thing i forgot to tell you that should have had a script christy but as he as you as you try to lift it it won't lift back up just slightly and continue to try to lift and curl at the same time lift and curl you're all the way curled i think now so is it really it'll just be lit oh wow okay all right a little bit more throttle that's fine now pulling upward there that's all you need now come back forward and pull keep pulling upwards [Music] now up a little bit more now you're ready to shake all right is that shaking enough back up and we'll see [Music] okay jason you you just asked the question did you shake enough now the answer now answer your own question obviously not okay why not how can you tell that because there's too much stuff hanging on flat with the edge yeah we bounce up we bounce up much and and some of this rock here see how see how easy that's going to fall off yep so if we're going to be transporting across grass or any any type of situation where you don't want the material you're carrying to mix with the lantern that you're coming across then then we're gonna have to shake a little bit more so you'll want to drive up a little bit and shake it harder okay but you do have a good bucket full there's no question about that like definitely uh fuller than i thought it was okay let's try it alrighty [Music] does that look good that's gonna be a lot better um i think i mean i can actually see a little bit of the front edge of the bucket okay so you'd probably be able to make it without spilling too much all right with this you all the way up yeah not all the way do you want me to go ahead and pull it all the way up see if it'll handle it that's all the way okay matter out the bucket will never be new again okay let's trade tractor alrighty okay so let's try the same thing here with this loader hopefully the uh bucket level indicator is already set loader up i've got nothing else to say am i in four-wheel drive there yeah go down on the ground wait wait wait wait wait wait you forgot to go on the ground yep that's my fault see first time that's okay low or too high you'll you'll feel it when you're on the ground for one thing you can do a couple things you can lots on the ground oh yeah when it goes in the flow yeah i think you curled a little bit early to get a full bucket up you can recover from that bring it on up on up a little more now shake shake in and out there you go look at that okay you see what i mean see how you can see your edge yeah okay let's try that one more time dump this one out and get you another bucket based on why you know 45 minutes of tractor use i would say mine feels smoother than yours right now oh they're just running here at an idle just the hydraulics on the loader oh interesting okay well let's keep going see if you can get a bucket full set the bucket level [Music] a little bit more yeah okay curl up or down it's fine shut down you'll need to curl up just a tad there we go now they are go ahead and you'll go down a little when you get in here good and hard now okay you're curling up before you encounter difficulty i want you to encounter difficulty and use the curl to help you after you've hit oh after it's full yeah after you've after you've hit a stopping point or nearly stopping point you feel it you you drive in and you hit that then you can you can feel that then start curling gotcha okay so dump this and try that again now carl keep driving in keep curling and pulling up and bring it back now yeah since you you've curled and you've pushed now gently back as you're curling and raising [Music] okay that's as big a bucket as you're gonna get right there okay okay bring it on up right there shake shake a little harder that's fine there you go now you've got a bucket full idle it down let's let's back up a little bit and let it down a little bit and we'll analyze that bucket so that was a good job you got a you got a bucket full that time right see it's it looks good now you're not going to get them a lot more level full with real loose material like this crushed stone that we're dealing with here but you can see the front here you can see up we might lose one rock well that's the way it is right you know um but you're not going to lose any over the front you're not going to lose any over the back we can take that to our destination and have a happy uh customer right yeah you're not going to be littering stuff all over somebody's yard okay so any questions about how to load the bucket no i think that was a huge help honestly so it's drive in make sure you've kind of hit the wall there you've pushed it as hard as you can then start curling and you'll be able to go in a little bit further right as you curl up and sometimes certain different materials different right it'll feel a little bit different sometimes you need to kind of keep curling and you can kind of keep coming up the pile a little bit right there are also times where if the if the pile is tall and and you need some loose material you can kind of back drag off the top of the pile oh it kind of knocks them loose we don't need to in this type of material but sometimes you can kind of back drag off and that will give you some loose material to work with as we've talked before at uh with really hard material a tooth bar really helps it's not helpful at all on this material it's not not needed at all but if it's you know hard pack material really helps do you have the uh hd one the hd toothbrush i have the heavy hitch tooth bar the heavy hitch has two now oh really they have a heavy duty version it must be for a different loader it's 57 inch deer loader oh it's for the hd bucket uh i don't know it has bolts individual bolts yeah the hd bucket has uh has holes in it for for a bolt-on tube gotcha gotcha that's what it is for a moment there i thought is there a heavy hitch product that i don't have that i need but if i was to uh need a heavy hitch product where could you go i would go to heavyhitch.com and i would use coupon code ttwt for five percent discount and get myself a tooth bar or have any heavy hitch product um any of you beginners out there have any questions about how you might load your loader list them in the comments sections below um realize this is an elementary video most of you guys watching this are saying this is way too elementary for me and some other folks are saying tim you taught him wrong you should have told him this should have told him that that's fine i suspect this will be helpful for jason to get started i'm sure there's many more advanced techniques and advanced items to learn and talk about but i hope you guys have found it helpful and i hope you found it helpful absolutely thanks for watching everybody we'll see you next time on tractor time with tim [Music] [Music] [Music] you
