[Music] [Music] that post from the other day friends that was it i ate it with this oh friends good evening i got asked a couple questions on uh stemming from our our final uh our last video sorry let me just get this square here let's get some light on the situation boom there we go this is better isn't it friends still hot holy cow it's hot hey it's good to see you friends i hope you're well um miles and morgan sandy and harlan family uh dale and his wife and and you guys how's everybody doing out that way i hope well i like to say hi to friends that i that i think about in my mind that pop into my mind it's nice to say hi to us um so so friends this acts in the last video um this is the perfect opportunity to answer a couple questions you know those excuse me you know those black hornets friends that they're mean they actually chase you down yeah uh a couple just popped in here and uh i tried to shoot him out with the broom because i'm not having a big black and white blue bomber bombing over my head here like that i'm just not having it i can't work i can't concentrate and if you've ever been stung by a hornet you know they are a screamer when they get you they're a screamer they sting they hurt more than wasps do now uh just a quick uh thing someone asked me bucking could you do a video showing us how you fix your axes before you tuck them away or or you know how do you how do you clean them up before you tuck them away basically is what he asked and i said absolutely yeah well he talked about tree sap and just stuff like that dirt whatever i said yeah well i'll tell you what i do friends it's just what i do and it's simple it's effective and it's not a big ordeal this palm sander yeah 80 grit maybe whatever see all that it's all tree sap and dirt okay it doesn't have to be a new a new belt or a new a new sandpaper piece of sandpaper can be old and wicked [Music] rickety [Music] after that i take a little wd-40 or move it in this case i give them a squirt and i give them a wipe see look at the difference watch this that's dirt or that's actually just blacks look at this look at this come up hey there it is done okay look at the other side look at this friends sorry here let's get this down like that there gives you a better idea there's the other side that's not clean right there's the side that is clean see that right there actually yeah there you go there it goes done sat so i just didn't want to sand down too close to the blade i don't like getting close to the blade when i sand so just wipe it off that's all i do that's it look at the difference done that's all i do friends you ask me that's all i do there's there's guys out there that use wax uh yeah wax is okay too it it's nice i i don't i i don't use any products on my on my on my hat on my axes i i really don't um i'm using them all the time so i don't wanna i i just use my skin my hands right those things uh you know the callused up hands on the wood that's it just hands and wood and then um that's just what i do and as far as this stuff goes a tree sap is going to stick to pretty much anything so but wow look look at that difference right there that that is amazing again friends honestly look at that see see how beautiful and clean that is that was just sanded off okay there's the other side okay so that's just what i do so let's do the other side so that that's what i do and then i like putting a little bit of this stuff on because it's slippery it makes it it makes it move which whatever it's a freaking piece of steel but what i like to do is use stuff like this i do friends it takes care of rust right i don't put nothing on the handle except what i finish the handle with which would be vodka okay i use vodka um i don't mind the wax but it i i just find i i don't know i i don't like throwing extra stuff on i find you can get hot it'll if it grips you a bit it's gonna it's gonna get your hands hot it's gonna burn you so so i don't do much for handles we call it skis i like this stuff it's slippery and nice it's called move it wd-40 would be the same and i put that stuff on there see that friends that that's just what i do that's it you could put anything on there friends okay you see but but i mean look she's nice and slopped up um i i think the big thing is is get get the pitch off it get the dirt off um yeah so i i hope that helps the sand pop the palm sander works great friends it does it works great uh i hope that helps the buddy who answered the question friends i have not put a steel wedge in any of my axes for a long time seriously a long time and i beat the panaches out of them kanacha raches you guys know this you watch me do it uh i i love my axes and i don't put steel wedges in here anymore unless it's for a wedge banger friends this is a nice axe this is that one i just made it is it i it's well look boom look at that right there talk to me about that that's called rocking the sock baby right there all the weight right out at the end when you're splitting you got out on that nub you're out there like this when you let that sucker go boom you know what i mean i'll get some wood and i'll show you killinger french curve uh you got to be an axeman to swing this you'll break the freaking handle you will but i'm not making handles with big clubber and sticks on them i'm not doing it i can't wait to swing this axe going back here right this axe is uh this latest axe i built friends from from from australia i gotta be honest i i'm i'm really impressed with it it's it's it's an axe it's a split knack it's not a chopping act friends even though it chops it's because of the freaking profile but the reason i do these profiles is this right here combination don't get me wrong now i want to show you something else check out this this is our newest specimen it's unfinished there's no wedge there's no kerf there's nothing look at this it's a freaking true hb freaking tazzy right out of australia check this out check out the freaking speed bump on her look at the speed bump watch what happens oh i could just do it here i guess did you just see what happened [Laughter] so here let's good axe here ah would you look at that are you feeling me friends where i'm going with this stuff when you play around with axes as much as i do friends you get all loopy and you get into you try to maximize everything to the best of your ability so this here is going to be a an absolute incredible incredible tool when i'm done with it absolutely incredible okay so there it is it's on a killinger french curve it's freaking unreal okay so i'm talking profiles now and here's another here's another ordeal here's that one this guy here it's a nice axe it's got it's still got a speed bump it's it's unfinished i haven't done my edge with it yet see there it is good splitter good all-round unit right like it is and it doesn't get stuck that bad okay okay so there's a big knot there is what there is yeah there is right there we go oh yeah right there look at that that's beautiful wood okay so that's that now i got one more to show you and it's the one friends it's this one which is which is this see the probe see that profile pretty slender long in there it's the one i broke building it see see all the dowel yeah exactly this acts for some reason and i don't know why i always say that i don't know why i do know why it's it's got magic in it this axe has magic in it it does friends i'm not joking okay so i like my tassies now here is the one that i cannot wait to just let loose on a pile of craziness i'm not joking yes see one hit and it's out look at this friends oh my dear yeah it's huh i don't know what's gonna happen here look at this this is crazy is this gonna work doubt it but it comes out like nothing so we're good here we're good for now axes learn your profiles look at these axes look at these things no steel in them none of them i don't put steel on my axes anymore haven't for quite some time actually i can't tell you how long a long long long time okay this guy's wicked friends it is it's a combination light duty like chopping a tree down kind of uh splitting it limbing it chopping pieces out it's it's got the it's light you know what i mean it's light the handle skinny and it's nimble it is a beautiful tool it'll split it will you just gotta be you've got to be on the ball with with the handle and if you get it stuck you you've got to be careful you will bust that handle right in half so kind of been holding on to this look at that one hit wonder right in half so it does the job okay friends i'm going little axe mania here tonight i i love my axes you all know that and winter is around the corner we're just we're not near it yet let's not talk about winter but there will be a time when i will be in that freaking shop over there with that forge ripping and roaring and that press shaping out metal and steel so friends here's a little clip that i got from brad at broad river forge who's building my press it's going to be a monster so friends we are building an amazing press and things take time this is a bigger machine than he's used to his uh one he calls the juggernaut 16 toner there's little videos on his channel broad river forge and but this thing is nuts it's bigger than he's ever built and he wants this to be deadly for us so this whole freaking community is part of this and we have stuff on the website buckingbillyraid.com that brings us along the journey on the building of this press the forge is built like the forge is actually built it's a ribbon forge and it's built but this is the the actual plasma cutting happening to this one-inch plate uh-huh i know i'm excited so i'm a one-man operation i don't sell if friends if all i did was sell axes i couldn't do that for starters i i'm not that type of person i am unable to do that i'm unable to fall timber steady i'm unable to climb steady that's why i'm always breaking my life up doing stuff and you know why because i designed it that way that's what i wanted i knew i was that person growing up someone who would say to me hey the fight the fairies are higher or the mills higher and i'd say oh yeah right on it never never appeased me like it never excited me i'm not a robot i knew i was never a robot look familiar yes indeed it does it was in the last video okay look it this is it's not very convex it's kind of a see how sharp that is it's a wood splitter but guess what i want to show you something let's go down here i've got some other stuff here too i want to show you but i have the perfect piece of wood to show you this with it's right here and the reason being is stuff gets it sticks in it and it won't split it's a good time to show you guys why i do this profile okay now let's okay this piece of wood you can slam into okay now here's here's what i want to show you that's that one i just showed you okay and here's the other one okay right two solid hits into the into the wood right okay watch what happens here on this first one look at the handle you see that friends okay so now we come up here anyways what i'm saying is okay this is in there it's in there there it come out okay so here's here's what here's the point i want to make to you there now here it is in a nutshell look it here's the two hits see that one see how wide it is look at the gap on that one well there's that one see how narrow it is that's what gets you stuck the narrower you are and the longer you're narrow for you're gonna get stuck and it's gonna be a little tougher to get out of the wood friends if you run into an axe i'll show you another couple so does that make sense friends so here's the difference on these before we go away let's let's look at this here's the difference on these two profiles and why the one on the bottom is a splitting profile and i've turned the top one into more of a chopper okay i showed you this the other day see the difference on the bottom it's a splitter it goes fat the one on top is slender and it will get stuck more but it will split like mad friends in good wood do you understand what i'm saying like it still will split that that thing it'll split like crazy but it will get stuck a little more okay so um just to give you that that program here it is now let's put down our split knocks and grab that slender one it will split friends there's no doubt it will okay you see it it's going to this is easy splitting wood see that it'll split really good actually because it's slender but as soon as you go across grain like that see if you don't have partially split it see so it is a good splitter but it it can go either way let's just say it's an all-around axe but because of the handle i think you'd turn that into kind of a chopper or it's a combination okay now and now i'm gonna make some uh chopping blocks friends listen that right there if you want to split wood and be able to do all those things that that i i if you're like me and you like to use your axe like use it for not just chopping but or i mean splitting but for for different things like grabbing wood moving it to the to the thing like like friends that's why i make these these things so we can do these things that we want to do right like this hang on let me get it there right this this type of thing i can grab
