[Music] buenos dias it was very cold this morning very very cold it was very windy all night and we have a 20 plus mile road walk into jacob's lake then we'll only have 26 and a half miles tomorrow to finish the trail [Music] just chilling in a road ditch [Music] [Music] okay so we're just leaving jacob lake in where we sat which way do we go oh apparently i'm going the wrong way but we tried the cookies i got three of the chocolate carpe and it was delicious we were told you have to get the cookie so we got cookies i'm packing out too so it was worth it we sat here for too long and now we're gonna try to do a few more [Music] miles really this is where we started and we've gone all this way and we're right here it is our final night on the azt we are about 25 miles from the border that'll be it [Music] [Applause] today is day 50 on this trail and it is also the day that we will be completing our through hike of the arizona trail so we have 26 miles and we will finally reach the border of utah and i think we're all very very relieved to know that the end is today this trail has been so challenging in more ways than we could have kept [Music] okay it is 11 45 in the morning and we have 15 miles to the border which means we've already done about 11 and a half miles so we just got to keep pushing we're going to try to do the last 20 with only one break so i have about five more miles so when they can break and then another 10 mile push all right pinkie toe hurts really really bad and i know i'm compensating but i guess i can just worry about that after because band-aids nothing is really helping the skin is pretty much just fluffing off okay so we just did a 10 mile push which means we have 10 and a half miles to the terminus luckily there's some cached water here because all of our sawyers froze last night kyle's froze like weeks ago and he's just been drinking water probably just riddled with giardia but my sweater froze last night because i was like tomorrow's the last day and then i'm such a dumb ass because i still have to drink water today um but yeah either way we're gonna make it ten and a half miles it's about one one o'clock in the afternoon so we should be getting to the terminus at a decent time i just gotta make sure my feet don't fall off on the last day we'll have a hot lunch listen to boys come in wait for kyle wherever that wherever the heck he is he should be coming soon so we can finish this last little last little 10 miles kyle what is the secret to never having sore feet well first of all if you look like this is it just don't wear socks and never get new shoes i was wearing socks earlier today and just about killed me how do you feel about finishing this trail today any other final thoughts no tanks empty today that beautiful huh gabe how do you feel so good to be done with this wow the excitement is just unfathomable the excitement is just abounding here it's the energy is just so hot all right mayor does have something to say all right so at lunch we were at the trailhead and the boys wanted to flip a coin so we could either take the road to the border or take the trail and we flipped a coin and we're on the road and the cool part is that vermillion cliffs national monument is right behind us and it's so pretty and it cuts off two miles so we're taking the road baby just because why not on this trail and you know some spectacular finish and we get to walk along the vermillion cliffs and it is absolutely stunning so i'm glad we flipped the coin and i'm glad it was tails up [Music] and guess what we're under five under five miles so if we were on the 8t we would be a mile up mount katahdin and i just keep thinking that this terminus is going to be much different than tottenham because there's no big climb there's no big mountain to sit on but there is a parking lot with trash can and i have a little pint of wine so i guess it will have its own unique finish all right we are one mile from the border but we saw a trailhead for some petroglyphs that are half mile up this switchback trail so we're running up there before we finish because why not [Music] right [Music] all right so they're from 850 get off me fly 850 to 1300 a.d yeah man pretty crazy [Music] whoo [Music] [Applause] because we're the three best friends that anyone can have are the three best friends that anyone could have the three best president anyone could have and we'll never ever ever ever never never never be apart all right pluto i got tonight
