i'm so glad that the lord saved me come on church i'm so glad that the lord saved me if it had not been for jesus where would i be i'm so glad that the lord saved me come on sing sing it and i'm so glad that the lord saved me i love you jesus i'm so glad that the lord saved me come on if it had not been for jesus where would i be i'm so glad that the lord aren't you glad to be saved singing cause i'm so glad that the lord saved me come on i'm so glad that the lord saved me if it had not been to jesus where would i be i'm so glad that the lord saved me i'm glad to be safe and i'm so glad that the lord saved me i'm so glad that the lord saved me [Music] if it had not meant to jesus where would i be i'm so glad that the lord saved me come on sing it and i'm so glad that the lord saved me i'm on my way to heaven i'm so glad that the lord saved me if it had not been to jesus where would i be i'm so glad i'm just glad to be saved this morning i'm so glad that the lord saved me come on the lord saved me if it had not been to jesus where would i be i'm so glad that the lord father god in the name of jesus christ me and pastor amy we pray for your people on this morning we pray for the word of god to come alive in their situation in their minds in their spirits renew their minds you say we must be transformed by the renewing of our minds so that we may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of god father god we pray that you make the word of god sweet make the word of god so simple that the smallest child tuning into this broadcast would be able to comprehend what the holy spirit is saying to them as they watch this broadcast with their parents bless your people on this morning encourage them bring clarity and direction into their lives bring comfort bring strength god and we say not i will but let your will be done in jesus name somebody say amen oh blessed be the name of jesus we are continuing in our series on this morning the holy spirit at work in you and on this morning specifically we're talking about the anointing of the holy spirit in elijah and elijah this the the holy spirit was the key to the miracles in the life of elijah and in the life of elisha and we know elijah mentored elijah and that same ministry that same exact ministry that same mantle the same anointing the same holy spirit that did those miracles through elisha through elijah when he moved into the life of elisha elisha began to do the exact same miracles he did twice the amount of miracles that his mentor elijah did amen now watch this i want to take you into the book of second kings and elijah took his mantle and wrapped it together and smote the jordan rivers and they were divided here and there so that they too went over on dry ground this was at the end of elijah's ministry elijah was about to be taken back into heaven by a whirlwind and he was testing elisha all through that chapter he said stay the bethel he said stay here eli eliza said no way as long as the lord your god lives i am not leaving you i'm staying right by your side through the entire ordeal you talk about loyalty you talk about faithfulness you talk about commitment you see elisha he served he served elijah he was the one who brought him his water when elijah would eat and it's time to wash his hand wash his hands elisha would pour the water over elijah's hands every time elijah was working miracles and doing powerful things elisha was right by his side observing are you listening to me now there are some people in this generation they don't want to serve nobody they think they can jump straight to the top come on somebody ah sometimes you got to serve you got to put some time in there before god can trust you with your own now watch this and it came to pass when they were gone over that elijah said unto elisha ask what i shall do for thee before i be taken away from thee and elisha said i pray thee let a double portion of thy spirit be on me let a double portion of your spirit be on me oh glory to god my god just to think that he liked elisha saw with his physical eyes he s he had heard about how god dried up the jordan river for joshua but he was right by elijah's side when elijah hit the jordan river with his mantle elisha saw the jordan river parted like it did the red sea and he along with elijah walked over on dry ground can you imagine what it is to be in the shoes of elisha seeing elijah raise the dead seeing him smite the water i mean can you imagine all the great miracles that elisha saw perform in the life of elijah and now elijah is asking elisha he said ask what you want from me before i'm taken away and i love this elisha said i pray thee let a double portion of your spirit be on me i want a double portion of that anointing on your life i remember we were sitting in a room with a great man of god and he was praying for us and he asked several pastors what do you want what do you want i knew what i wanted when that man of god stood in the front of me he looked at me and smiled he said you want to say something what do you want to say i said i want a double portion of the anointing of god that's on your life i want a double portion of it and the man of god smiled and he said god's going to give you your heart's desire i tell you lord have mercy and he said thou has asked a hard thing nevertheless if thou see me when i am taken from thee it shall be so unto thee but if not it shall not be elijah was telling elisha you have reached a place in your life you're gonna have to pay attention i'm right at the end of my journey god's about to send this whirlwind to take me to heaven you have to pay attention because if you get distracted you're gonna miss it and if you get distracted and caught up in something else when i'm taken away from your heart's desire would not be granted but if you are paying attention and you see when god take me up into heaven you'll receive a double portion of the anointing of god that's on my life oh blessed be the name of jesus verse 11 and it came to pass as they still went on and talked that behold there appeared a chariot of fire and horses of fire and parted them both asunder and elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven and elisha saw it elisha saw the chariots of fire came and separated himself from elijah and elisha saw elijah going up into heaven by a whirlwind my god an elisha saw it and he cried my father my father the chariot of israel and the horsemen thereof and he saw him no more and he took a hold of his own mantle of his own clothes and rent them in two pieces and guess what he did and then he went and took up also the mantle of elijah that fell from him and went back and stood by the bank of the jordan think about this that cloak that elijah carried all of his life that signified him as god's prophet now it's on the ground and he because elijah elisha saw when god took elijah into heaven and elisha walked over the mantle fell elisha said this is mines he picked it up in humility my god no doubt he held his hand he held it he knew the value of it because he saw what elijah did with that anointing on his life he took up also the mantle of elijah that fell from him and went back and stood by the bank of the john and he took the mantle of elijah that fell from him and smote the waters and said where is the lord god of elijah and when he also had schmidt in the waters they parted here and there and elisha went over glory to god god answered him he said where is the god of elijah and god split the jordan river open he did exactly for elisha what he had done for elijah to let elisha know the god of elijah is now the god of elijah the god who used to work those miracles through elijah now this same god will be doing the work through the holy ghost in the life of elisha my god my god what a moment elijah's last miracle was elijah's first miracle you talk about passing the baton on and not missing a beat and and when he also had spit in the waters they parted here and there and elisha went over i love verse 15. and when the sons of the prophets which were to viewer jericho saw him they said the spirit of elijah do rest on elisha he didn't have to broadcast it he didn't have to hand on the business card to say hey look what god's doing in my life guess what people can see when the holy ghost is at work in your life they cannot deny when the holy ghost is working in your life come on somebody every miracle that happened in his life moving forward it was the holy spirit working the same miracles he did in elijah now he would be doing those miracles through elisha and when the sons of the prophets which were the view far off a jericho saw him they said the spirit of elijah does rest all elisha and they came to meet him and bowed themselves to the ground before him my god elijah and elisha they parted the jordan river both of them both of them raised dead sons of widows raising from the dead back to life my god what about elisha god worked through him to heal name in the leper he told naaman go dip seven times this was the holy ghost telling them what to say what about elijah out running a hops chariot my god what about elijah calling fire down from heaven what about elisha multiplying the widow's oil what about elijah multiplying the widow's barrel of meal what about elisha making the axe head float on top of the water he did this by the holy spirit it was the holy ghost working these miracles through these men and what i want you to get from this teaching is the same holy spirit that once lived in elijah and once lived in elisha the same holy spirit is now living in you the same holy spirit that lived in jesus christ lived in the apostle peter lived in the apostle paul now he lives on the inside of myself my wife he lives in you the same way god worked through those men he's making that same power available to you on this morning isn't god awesome it just it blows my mind and this is why when we pray for people to get healed we pray with confidence because we realize it's not us it's the holy spirit that worked through us releasing the power of the resurrected christ here releasing it there releasing it around the world through the broadcast and healing the sick cancer drying up covered leaving people's bodies blind eyes receiving their sight people who are lame in their legs god gives them the ability and they get up and begin to walk come on somebody it's the work of the holy spirit tumors in ladies bodies drying up and disappearing they're going back to their doctors there's no more tumor there it's not pastor sean it's not pastor amy it's the holy ghost it's the holy spirit the same holy spirit who worked through christ and the apostles through elijah and elijah he is here performing the same miracles oh glory to god lift your hands to heaven there's power in the name of jesus i feel the holy ghost because there is power in the name of jesus power because there is power in the name of jesus to break to break everything break everything break at reaching to break to bring [Music] power because there is power in the name of jesus power in that name there is power in the name of jesus to break to break every teeth break every teeth break at reaching to break me and past amy pray for you this morning that the holy ghost would would begin to work even stronger in your life that you would recognize that the holy spirit lives in you that you are a vessel your body is the temple of the holy ghost you are not a pushover you are not some weakling you are not a nobody you are somebody because you have been bought with the precious blood of jesus and the same works that the holy spirit did through these men he wants to do it through you but he's just looking for someone to say here my lord sent me he doesn't want your ability he wants your availability he's looking for yielded vessels father we cover your people this morning work through them work in and through their lives turn their situations around help them to understand they're not in this by themselves the holy ghost lives in us 24 7
