what would have happened if Germany had won World War II what would the world look like if genas Khan had never had his conquests what about if the South had won the US Civil War or for those who like comic books if Superman had landed in Russia as a baby instead of in America there are so many alternate timelines and histories in this Iceberg some of them I'd thought about and pondered before others were completely new to me and just absolutely blew my mind but all of them were fantastic to explore and to dive into so without further Ado grab a drink my choice today is a cup of milk with a splash of tea and join me as we explore the alternate history's Iceberg tier one the man in the High Castle this is a story in which during World War II the axes Powers win and the US ends up being conquered and divided between Japan and Germany so this alternate history starts off with a real assassination attempt on FDR or Franklin Roosevelt in 1933 in our world jeppi zangara did attempt to shoot FDR and he was thankfully unsuccessful but in the man in the High Castle jepi succeeds and because he succeeds the Great Depression in America continues and the US doesn't get involved in World War II in 1939 so because of this Germany takes over Europe and the Soviet Union joins up with Germany instead of with the allies and with this collaboration they are extremely powerful Germany slowly invades more and more countries in Europe takes more and more resources and eventually teamed up with Japan invade and take over America they kind of go haves on America and Germany takes the entire East Side while Japan takes the entire West Side the Allies surrender just 8 years later and Japan and Germany basically become the two top superpowers in the entire world as I said they take over a weakened America and the story starts in 1962 from the perspective of quite a few different people in both the Japanese and German halves of America in in the Japanese half black people are enslaved and Chinese people are basically second class citizens and the Man in the High Castle is actually a character within this story and he is this mysterious author who writes this novel The Grasshopper lies heavy and in this novel The Grasshopper lies heavy he imagines a world a timeline in which America and the Allies actually win World War II this mysterious author mostly imagines this timeline to be similar to the one that actually experienced with just really a few differences Rexford tugwell was elected the US president in 1940 instead of FDR Hitler was actually captured for his war crimes and put to death Churchill remains in power in Britain and starts sort of a cold war for some reason between Britain and America with Britain winning that war essentially making Britain the most powerful country in the world it's a super cool story idea and features kind of like an alternate timeline within an alternate timeline it's won multiple different Awards and as with quite a few entries on this Iceberg really gives you a lot to digest and to think about and potentially even to come up with theories of your own I really like this idea of a timeline within a timeline and shows that even though this guy is kind of Imagining the Allies winning his predictions don't fully line up to what actually happened in our timeline which I think is probably more realistic as it is incredibly incredibly hard to predict timelines like this but super cool idea the years of rice and salt explores the idea of what if the black death in the 1300s instead of killing onethird of the population of Europe which still is an insane amount but instead of killing just 1/3 it instead killed 99% of Europe in this timeline the Islamic World basically takes over the ruined Europe and rebuilds it all with Muslim settlers China as well starts to come up in the world and there are constant Wars between the Muslims between the Chinese and even between the Native Americans as because Europe was massively stunted during the 1300s the European settlers never made it to North America and so this gave the Native Americans basically more time to gather together to form a confederation or League similar to The iroy League just a lot bigger I really like this one it's a super fun one and it's split up into 10 parts exploring the history of hundreds of years of what genuinely might have happened had the Black Death been a lot worse the Two Georges explores what would have happened had the US never left the British Empire in this timeline there was a peaceful agreement between George Washington and King George III hence the story's title The Two Georges and because of this agreement the US essentially becomes a union under the British Empire that goes by the name the North American Union and has this the Jack and Stripes as their flag the Native Americans managed to retain a lot more of their land and when slavery is abolished in the British Empire in 1833 this also Outlaws it in the US or the North American Union sorry and this would have been some 30 years before it was outlawed in our timeline because of this a lot of the black people are freed and by the 20th century they are mostly in the upper class of society a lot of the Irish Americans remained poor and working class and later on form groups to attack and undermine this new America and push these massive political movements to try and get America to break away from the British Empire Los Angeles is named new Liverpool which becomes one of the major cities in North America and because of Britain still maintaining power and control over North America Britain becomes basically the number one superpower in the entire world and our next timeline is one in which you aren't subscribed which I know that is completely unbelievable because I mean why wouldn't you be subscribed it's free it takes a second and you get us one step closer to 100 billion subscribers so join the family and welcome aboard Fatherland so with a lot of entries on this Iceberg we might see their initial ideas being repeated so for example what would happen if Germany 1 World War II but the outcomes and consequences from these are normally quite if not vastly different so even though the premises are the same the story and experience often ends up being quite unique so in this timeline Germany ends up taking over Europe Britain signs a peace treaty with them or just basically surrenders the king of Britain leaves the throne and prime minister Winston Churchill relocates to the slightly more friendly to British people Canada the US defeats Japan using nukes just like in our timeline but in Fatherland Germany fires these retaliatory non-nuclear missiles at America which is still pretty devastating to where they were fired at New York and so this results in a ceasefire between America and Germany and eventually many years down the line the US and Germany are the two leading powers in the world and are fighting a cold war between themselves the whole story reads basically as like a detective novel where the Germans are trying to eliminate any officials that knew of the final solution you know their war crimes and the protagonist who is an officer in the German criminal police is trying to find evidence of these death camps and basically expose them to the world all while trying to avoid being captured a very thrilling and somewhat terrifying Story the Yiddish policeman's Union so in this history in World War II a settlement was set up for the Jewish people in Alaska and years after this Israel was actually completely destroyed interestingly enough this was an actual proposal an actual plan produced in 1939 by America called the Slattery report in our timeline it never never went through but in this timeline it did the Jewish people were given this settlement in Alaska Germany still lost the war but because of this settlement the US saved roughly 4 million Jews from Death the story takes place just as the 60-year lease or essentially promise to let this Alaskan City be used as a Jewish settlement is ending the US president at this time strongly wants the Jewish people to leave Alaska essentially and encourages them to go back to Israel and fight and take back their Homeland outside of America and Israel there's not too many differences on this timeline except for the us being a little less embracing shall we say of the Jewish people plot against America so this explores a universe where FDR loses the 1940 presidential election and the winner is a man named Charles Lindberg he in our universe had some very questionable views both on Jewish people and the British and even in the United States participation in World War II too so with him as president anti-Semitism is on the rise again in America and one of the things he actually runs on is no war with Germany which is partly why he won the American people just didn't want another War when he becomes president he signs something called the Iceland agreement stating that the US won't interfere with German expansion in Europe and they signed the Hawaii agreement saying basically the same thing to Japan that they won't interfere with the Japanese expansion in Asia there is later on a few assassinations the vice president wheeler assumes the presidency there are tons of illegal arrests and riots and the US honestly starts to look more and more like some of the countries that we tried so hard to stop in World War II so a scary thought for what could have happened if the US had just stayed on the sidelines which I am glad that they didn't the Fallout franchise so I covered a lot of the Fallout franchise in my Fallout Iceberg totally check it out if you love Fallout stuff but this series of games this universe diverges from our own in a few different ways firstly the US never dropped bombs on Japan which meant that they didn't have to invest money into Japan to you know build them back up again this meant that the US was richer as a country secondly transistors were invented but they just weren't as advanced as in our universe as the scientists in Fallout focused more on vacuum tubes and on both nuclear and atomic physics this resulted in some very strange environments in Fallout where you have some things which are Super outdated and super basic like say computers and you have other things which are Super Advanced like nuclear weapons laser weapons nuclear powered floating cars and really Advanced Robotics and there was a massive cold war between the US and China and you know a massive nuclear war resulting in a worldwide nuclear Fallout so yeah one of my favorite games of all time and a super cool universe and Alternate timeline the Metal Gear series so this is another video game series that diverges from our timeline in a few different ways in World War II the Axis powers are defeated as usual but with the help of the Cobra unit which was this mysterious small unit group of super soldiers essentially brought together by someone called the boss in order to defeat Germany so the Allies still the war but in this universe with the exposure to super soldiers being out there this essentially led to massive advancements in the' 60s the '70s the 80s into stuff like Ai and cloning and Robotics so it's a pretty cool storyline and universe if you've never played the games before or if you've only played the games and never really looked into the story or the lore of it fun stuff for all mankind explores the question of what if the USSR had reached the moon first in instead of America so in this universe alexe leonov is the first man on the moon and this motivates the US to you know ramp up their space program and to beat the Russians and each season of this series advances like 10 years at a time so the first season covers the 1970s the second covers the 1980s and so on and in this universe by the 2000s we already have space bases on Mars as well as a few other pretty cool things it's a pretty recent series of Four Seasons so if you like space sort of stuff definitely check it out and shout out to my space Iceberg tier 2 1983 doomsday so in this universe nuclear war kicks off between the Americans and the Russians resulting in three billion deaths and reducing the US and the USSR to essentially shells of their former selves it's really really quite brutal the main point of Divergence happened in 1983 when Colonel Stannis Petro was on watch in a bunker near Moscow and he was monitoring for US missile attacks there was a glitch in the system leading to the computer alerting Petro saying that the US had fired missiles at Russia but thankfully Petro believed that this information was false and so he didn't alert his higher ups and this ended up essentially avoiding a nuclear war but in the Doomsday timeline Petro is stationed somewhere else the other officer who replaced him in this universe when he gets the warnings he immediately tells his higher ups they believe these are real they go to launch an attack of their own on America and yeah the rest is history or alternate history as I said the US and USSR become a lot weaker after this and thanks to this power vacuum the Commonwealth of Australia and New Zealand basically becomes the most powerful country or Commonwealth in the world and South America mostly headed by Brazil becomes just a Powerhouse area and nation and as you can see from this map a lot of America is actually lost and the Nations and countries look a fair bit different to what we're used to Super interesting to imagine what a war of this scale would do to the world and this timeline isn't actually a foregone conclusion it is still being written and still being actively updated follow along if you like via the in Universe News posts essentially which are linked in the iceberg itself for want of a nail so this is a really cool novel written by Robert soel in the style of an actual historical academic bibliography it cites footnotes that don't exist authors that don't exist books of these authors that also don't exist and imaginary articles indexes all sorts at the start of the book he thanks numerous people that also don't exist for their contributions to the document and their help with it so there's like this whole other academic universe created specifically for this book which I think personally is a really cool touch it's a really cool really well- written wellth thought out book but let's get into what the actual alternate history covers in this universe the American Revolution is unsuccessful the US essentially gets divided up into the British controlled CNA or Confederation of North America and the Southern United States of Mexico due to a bunch of the Revolutionary figures moving down south and the soldiers reloc ating essentially to Mexico after the war the main powers are the German Empire which rules most of Europe the British Empire a mercenary company essentially kind of like the East India Company in our universe but they are the Kramer Associates you also have the Japanese empire which rules most of Asia and as we mentioned before the confederation of North America and the United States of Mexico as I said the style that this was written in is super cool unique and detailed and it follows the general General history of this world as well as the world war in 1939 between these various factions so very Epic World War so this is a wild alternate history what if just imagine what if aliens from another planet in outer space invade Earth during World War II and the axis and Allied Powers have to essentially team up in order to defeat these aliens I don't know what these people were spoking when they wrote this but it does sound pretty cool nonetheless so The Invasion begins in 1942 and these aliens are really quite interesting they developed themselves militarily and invaded and unified their entire home planet and this was like tens of thousands of years ago and because they were all United as a planet they never really developed any more advanced weapons than they needed to and so their weapons at that point in time was kind of on pause and their knowledge of mankind of Earth all came from this space probe that they sent out in the 1200s so their Weaponry hadn't advanced in 10,000 years and they thought that Earth still only had the weapons of the 12th century so like crossbows Spears swords so they came here thinking that this was going to be an easy Invasion and we were actually pretty well matched and we ended up having this ongoing War for like hundreds of years and a super fun wild fact about this is that ginger for these aliens is a massively addictive powerful aphrodesiac so yeah that's kind of interesting and a little disturbing the Power Balance over time tilts more and more towards the humans and in the end Humanity actually ends up flying out into space and eventually reaching the aliens home planet so yeah as I said a pretty wild one a pretty interesting one it's not the most likely alternate history I will give you that but I am all for a timeline of fighting aliens during World War II access of time explores the wild wild idea of what if an advanced Navy from 2021 got sent all the way back to 1942 which is totally a very likely possibility but basically in this timeline a large Islamic group declares war on the world and a bunch of countries basically gather and team up to defeat this group and in one of these battles there's this cloaking technology that's been developed that's meant to you know like hide and cloak their ships so they turn it on and use it for the first time on the battlefield and instead of making them invisible it sends them back to 1942 which I mean it's very easy mistake to make they probably just forgot to carry the one and you get time travel instead of invisibility so a ton of these ships go back in time and they are captured by various Nations which I mean would they realistically even get captured if their ships from the 2020s I mean maybe they'd be outnumbered but this time travel doesn't send them all back to the same place that they were were it basically just scatters them around the world so a bunch of them are captured by various Nations one is captured by the Japanese and after they capture the ship they basically interrogate everyone on board and find out some things about the future so Japan finds out that they lose some of the upcoming battles and so they decide just not to engage in these battles the Germans capture a vessel and learn that invading Russia wasn't really a good idea which I mean I probably could have told them that so with this knowledge Germany decided not to invade Russia they decide to make a truce and basically team up with Russia and because they're now best buds between Russia and Germany and Japan they basically take over most of Europe and Asia and that's about it the 1940s is now filled with loads of new tech from these modern ships and the Axis powers now control the entire world so great Wolfenstein the New Order so this follows the timeline of once again the Axis powers winning World War II and you play as a Polish American Jewish protagonist who is intent on stopping the Germans from taking over the world there's not much else that's too unique in this one but at least the game is pretty fun 1984 and uh sorry for the confusing title the book is called 1984 and it was written in 1949 so if you haven't read this or listened to it it is a must if you want a really really interesting well-written and just terrifying and thrilling Universe I mean there is a reason why it's a classic it is set in 1984 London and describes a nation of such totalitarian control that it is just absurd which is the opposite of SD and absolutely terrifying everything in this nation is monitored cameras and microphones in every single home in every single office space cubicle every bus every street everywhere there are spies on every corner in every company in most families even in the back streets you have no idea who is a genuine person and who is a spy for the state meaning you can never really trust anyone or discuss any ideas whatsoever not only is it a crime to publicly go against big brother who is like this all controlling allseeing government entity but it's also a crime to think negative things about them or about the system or to talk in private negatively or to write or to keep a journal whatsoever even in your own home in private like yeah I did mention this was absurd think of it like North Korea but ramped up to like 11 Big Brother fully controls all information all new sources and even all of history the main protagonist in the story works for a government Ministry called the ministry of Truth and they are tasked with essentially changing truth like if for instance they wanted to change who invented the airplane say they would just go back through every single newspaper article news broadcast all the history books all the textbooks in school they would go through all of that delete the old information and replace it with new articles new information Etc and so even if you remember the right Brothers inventing the airplane first of all you can't really discuss that with anyone and if big brother says that say Jesus Christ invented the airplane and you yourself looked back through all of the old newspapers all of the school textbooks all of those also agreed that Jesus Christ had invented the airplane then you would essentially kind of feel yourself going crazy and that is what happens with pretty much everyone in this story except instead of going crazy they've just leared to accept the truth like even if they knew a week ago one truth once it's changed they just accept this new truth and it is extremely depressing if Big Brother controls your perception of reality your mind then it controls reality and when memory failed and written records were falsified when that happened the claim of the party to have improved the conditions of human life had got to be accepted because there did not exist and never could exist any standard against which it could be tested if they say 2 + 2 equal 5 and everyone believes it then 2 + 2 must equal 5 they can literally change logic and reality then there's this idea of limiting Thoughts by limiting language for example you can't actually think of starting a rebellion against big brother because the word Rebellion doesn't even exist so if the word doesn't exist then you can't even have that thought the word free in the context of being free like of Liberty also doesn't exist in this world so you can't possibly even think of yourself as free or not free it's a really messed up deep psychological control and then there's the idea of double think which is basically like this blatant cheeky euphemizing of language like for example the ministry of Truth which you know is kind of tasked with the opposite of truth they're constantly deleting records and rewriting them and recreating them so you don't actually really even know what's true or not there's the ministry of love which is basically the torture and interrogation Ministry and there's stuff like Joy Camp which is a forced labor camp again control language you control the thoughts and you control their reality there is lots lots lots more in this which I would love to get into but it would just turn into a 2-hour video essay of 1984 so I'm sure you get the idea go and listen to it or read it if you haven't already like seriously go as it is a super super interesting terrifying perspective changing reality which I am extremely thankful we are not at least not yet a part of stalker shadow of Chernobyl so this describes a world where in addition to the initial Chernobyl meltdown there was a second one that occurred which is double plus ungood the disaster causes Mass radiation in the area it causes mutations of animals and plants and landscape and even causes these strange anomalies with the laws of physics so yeah probably just stay out of this entire area cyberp Punk was actually a tabletop game which I mean who knew this timeline splits off from ours in the 1980s and in it the US is at war with Central America and this war causes massive economic meltdown and because the US economy has collapsed this means that they are less of a threat and as a consequence the Soviet Union doesn't collapse and again because of a weakened America Japan in particular becomes more powerful and there are just these like Wars going on all the time not too unlike our timeline I guess but in this one things escalate there are nuclear bombs going off all over the Middle East and this leads to mutations bioengineering food shortages worldwide all because America was weak well godamn 1920 plus is a really beautiful artistic universe that combines the era of Industrial Revolution so like 1910s 1920s and has kind of like a Countryside farmy Eastern European kind of feel and this is because the concept for this was actually based on the Polish Bolshevik War of 1920 but someone looked at the war and was like yes but how about giant robots with like giant robotic weapons and machinery and so 1920 plus was born pretty cool visuals on them and it should be noted that these robots aren't really super Advanced like they're huge and clunky and still have a lot of the same technology that we actually had in those days like for instance a lot of the robots are steam powered and the Weaponry is like just firing bullets sort of thing so it's like the engineers just specked really heavily into walking technology and into giant technology and didn't really advance in any other aspect so you have no real lasers or anything like that a really cool Vibe a really cool contrast and this actually inspired stuff like the game Scythe which is a board game that I've known about for quite a while and actually played a few times but I never really knew where its Origins were from and now I do frost Punk so in this universe katoa and Mount Tambora erupt roughly at the same time which is in around 18 86 they were both in and of themselves these huge explosions but in our universe they happened around 70 years apart so I guess that delay gave Humanity you know time to recover and time to handle themselves better and develop more technology but in this one they happen more or less at the same time and they plunge Earth into this Global Winter which causes Untold deaths not only from the initial eruptions but also from stuff like crop failures and from the partial at least blocking out out of the sun coal power generators were developed and built in order to combat you know the extremely cold Winters and the world must now fight against nature and against this kind of mini ice age in order to survive and again this is something that could very well easily have happened as we had no real control over when the eruptions would happen and if they did happen we had no real way of protecting ourselves you know outside of the normal fires and generators and houses and stuff we were nowhere near as well equipped as we are today if something like this would happen so scary stuff Superman red Sun so if you're into comic books and you haven't read get it red Superman red Sun anyway if you haven't read this one then what are you even doing in the original Superman story he arrives on Earth as a baby in a little baby spaceship and he crash lands in Kansas he is raised by Jonathan and Martha Kent and they find this baby abandoned basically adopt him give him the name Clark Kent and they instill in this baby morals directions Etc and teach him you know that he should use his powers for good and this essentially helps him become the Superman we all know and love but what if none of that happened what if Superman as a baby instead crash landed in I don't know the Soviet Union well this is what Superman red Sun explores he is found by the Russians and is kept as a state secret until the 1950s and funnily enough Superman normally is said to fight for truth justice and the American way but in this timeline the Soviet radios describe him as the champion of the common worker who fights a NeverEnding battle for Stalin socialism and the international expansion of the warsa pack which like yeah okay this story is wild and I won't get into it fully as it is is quite a lot so take a look at the comic and read it out if you want to I would highly recommend it but basically once he's revealed to the World by Russia America changes the focus of its arm race from nuclear to biological in that it kind of wants to create super soldiers of its own even though Superman is you know an alien not a super soldier but that's kind of besides the point the main result of all of this is as you can imagine the Soviet Union becomes incredibly powerful prospering under this almost unlimited power and most other countries the US included just become weaker in comparison when Stalin dies Superman takes over as the head of the Soviet Union and he spreads communism as far and wide as he can while at the same time turning most of the world into a police state as I said it's a really really cool read if you like Superman or you just like comic books or you just like a really cool interesting story I won't spoil the ending but go and check it out if you have the time Anastasia is a 20th Century Fox film that explores the possibility of what if Anastasia nikolayevna who was the youngest daughter of s Nikolai II survived her family's execution in reality she was killed along with the rest of her family by the Bolsheviks and this was during the Russian Revolution but rumors of her having survived the killings came about in subsequent years and so this rumor and idea is explored here in Anastasia nothing super major changes in this timeline but but it is still a fun film tier three the Peshawar lances so this takes place in a world where in the late 1800s these massive meteor showers basically rain down on Europe and the Americas turning them essentially into Baron wastelands so Queen Victoria orders the British Navy to evacuate all of Britain's population to its colonies in India and Australia and South Africa which they do and the British Isles are essentially abandoned and the people that are left left there basically turn into these cannibalistic Savages so Scotland basically that was a joke don't hurt me honestly I love Scotland but fast forward 200 years to 2025 which is next year and the new British Empire based in India named angrezi Raj is the most powerful Nation on Earth the Russians are feared for their ritualistic cannibalism and Satanism which I think that's a little extreme and the US after the meteor strikes is more or less still in ruin most of the rest of the world are in these small tribes and a lot of the Middle East have built up these small empires of their own a lot can change in just 200 years and we did lose our lovely British idles so sad 1632 so this is a fun one it is the year 2000 and a small American Town gets sent back in time thanks to these aliens which of course it's down to aliens back to 1632 in the Holy Roman Empire and this was during one of the most destructive periods in history the 30 Years War and the whole town was sent back in time like 3,000 people along with houses and cars and Lawns it's like aliens just drew a massive circle around the town and there was like who back you go and as you can imagine there was a massive culture shock from both sides the town establishes their own group and region named the new United States of Europe or nus for short and they have cars and guns and electronics so they're not so easily pushed around but they do need to figure out how to maintain these things only using 17th century resources so it's a bit of a struggle it's a super fun super well-written read and it has got many many nominations and awards since it was released so definitely check it out pretty cool three Beth Assad II Beth Assad third Beth Assad so this is a collaborative Universe timeline built over the last 20 years that has a ton of these points of Divergence so a point of Divergence is like in one of the normal entries one event that happens differently to our timeline and from there the timeline branches off and you know we get a different timeline but this one has multiple points which are all different and so this causes some insane Divergence later on one of the differences was that Latin never died out in Britain and so it kind of fused with the Celtic languages and became something now known as branik and the British culture is like this ancient Roman Celtic hybrid and in some aspect it is honestly so different that it's like an entirely new world and this is down to their as I said many many points of Divergence all that stuff is still up on the wiki and it's being constantly updated even daily so if you like intense World building definitely check this one out the draa explores a world where the Dutch join theic American Civil War and they fight against the British and they lose and so have to seed their Cape colony to the British a bunch of British settlers go to the cape colony and eventually form the domination of the Jura which is a very cool name but they become kind of a psycho insane country they are very military heavy almost spartan-like in their culture they have tons of slaves and they eventually end up Conquering the whole of Africa and in the end the entire world is is basically divided up into like draa on one side and the good guys the alliance in America and austral Asia mainly a wild one for sure and an extremely brutal one but thankfully not in our timeline the New Order the last days of Europe so this explores once again Germany winning World War II Germany basically dominates all of Europe including the UK the Soviet Union has split up Germany ends up developing nukes and alongside Japan ends up seriously crippling the United States so Germany basically has complete worldwide power but it has trouble in holding onto it there are constant rebellions all over Europe Germany's economy isn't really doing too great and the SS which was like the secret German police ends up going rogue under the control of himler and basically takes over operations in Germany Japan and Germany end up having a falling out so now there's like a three-way cold war between America Japan and Germany and they all have nuclear weapons which is amazing and that's basically how it ends with saying that even though Germany did win the war holding on to all of this worldwide power would be extremely difficult ruled Britannia is a timeline by author Harry turtle dove which I am just absolutely loving his alternate histories but this story asks the question what if the Spanish Armada was successful it is set 10 years after the Armada was successful and England has been conquered it is now owned by the Roman Catholic church and ruled by Spain Queen Elizabeth has been dethroned captured and imprisoned and one of the main characters in this timeline is a man called William Shakespeare there are some Rebel groups who ask him to write a play for them with the idea that this play should kind of rile up all of the English people and get them to rebel against the Spanish overlords the Spaniards also then asked Shakespeare to write a play saying how wonderful and good good the Spanish people are in order to you know perform it in front of the English people and for the Spanish to win the favor of the public so high Jinks ensue eventually Shakespeare's anti-spanish play is written and performed and it does result in riots in rebellion and in the freeing of the city the killing of loads of Spanish officers and officials and Queen Elizabeth is rescued she then rewards Shakespeare for his service and once again England is a free Nation so finally a good ending to one of these timelines and as I said I am absolutely digging Harry Turtle Do's alternate histories Ker's War so this basically explores the idea of what if Hitler had died halfway through World War II this Theory says that himler with the power of the SS would basically seize control and this story kind of actually questions whether that would be better or worse for the Allies than what happened in our timeline so a very interesting one and the conclusion to this honestly might surprise you World in Conflict so this is a World in Conflict in which in 1989 the Soviet Union is basically on the brink of collapse and as a last ditch effort to attain or maintain power it invades Europe sparking World War III and this is maybe a little too close for comfort so Europe is fighting back America sends troops over to Europe in order to assist them and then because a lot of the US troops are in Europe Russia decides to strike on the American Homeland in Seattle and they try to essentially invade America while their defenses are low or at least lower which I don't know if that's such a great idea it's kind of a wild idea kind of a wild story and I don't know how well that would work out for Russia I mean taking on one small country is obviously hard enough but taking on all of Europe and then starting a war with America yeah I don't know how smart that would be the monument Mythos so this this if you've seen the wendon video of it you will know is a super super interesting web series that is this analog horror based series featuring a timeline in which James Dean becomes president personal computers are banned like completely and monuments Nationwide and even worldwide house these dark mysterious creatures the Statue of Liberty contains this unspecified horrifying creature alcatra island is a living being that dup duplicates itself and is always looking to feed things are really twisted and it's a really cool cool Mythos it's a both refreshing and terrifying story and Alternate timeline that is available as a minseries on YouTube it is definitely definitely something that I want to and actually will cover in the future but you can always check it out for now if you like either through the original web series or through won's lovely series on it Kaiser Rik Legacy of the welt Creek so this explores the question of what if Germany won World War I in this timeline Germany doesn't go as heavy onto America with submarines meaning America doesn't have as much reason to join the war Britain accidentally Torpedoes a US ship that is blockading the Germans leading to the Germans and family getting an upper hand in the war which leads to them basically knocking out Russia pushing away the United States and forcing France and Britain into a surrender Germany secures all of of their lands in the East France breaks down into a Civil War and Germany just becomes the strongest country in Europe Britain also breaks down in a Civil War and the Queen and all of her loyalists flee to where else but Canada and the United States who loaned Europe a ton of money during the war and now has you know almost no hope of getting it back anytime soon falls into a massive Great Depression and so with most of the world's great superpowers either crippled or fighting internal Civil Wars the Germans slowly but surely mop up land and colonies and territories and they become the most powerful country in the world this is an interesting and maybe slightly likely timeline you know if Germany had won World War one and it's kind of scary to think about how close things actually might have come Red Dawn explores a 1980s where NATO has been disbanded and an alliance of Poland the Soviet Union and South America all decide to invade Mexico and then the United States and this obviously is the start of World War II it is kind of implied that the United States wins the war at the end of this all but it is left a little unclear and I don't know how well the Russians would actually do fighting on us soil but I guess they do have the assistance of Poland and South America so maybe they do half decently Red Storm Rising again this explores a war fought between the Soviets and the United States again again it is the 1980s but in this war both sides agree not to escalate it to the point of nuclear weapons so even though they have lots of nukes this entire war is just fought with regular bombs and Guns Etc which is probably a very very good idea but I don't know how likely it is that both sides would actually stick to something like this especially if one of the sides starts to you know lose pretty heavily the hot War Series so this asks what if the the Korean War which was really a proxy war had actually escalated you know what if the US drops a nuke in Korea and then the Russians drop one back killing some American troops so the Americans retaliate and drop one in Moscow and then the Soviets drop you know a few in Europe Etc well this would likely bring the us into a full-blown Hot War and very very likely result in World War II in the series the Soviets then invade Europe nuking city after City invading lands and the US is barely holding their own through this and eventually the Russians nuke Washington DC this destroys obviously a bunch of important buildings and it kills a bunch of important government members and politicians at this point the Soviet armies are naturally quite exhausted and they do take heavy losses themselves so the war kind of dies down after this Stalin is soon killed the US and the Soviets soon sign a peace agreement most of the land and countries that were taken are put back to how they were before the war and things kind of go back to normal except with tons and tons of lost life as well as America having to you know build up or rebuild their political institutions so yeah pretty intense one the man with the iron heart so this entry is in reference to the uh German psychopath Reinhard hadrick who was honestly one of the worst people in World War II Hitler dubbed him the man with the iron hearts and he was assassinated in 19 42 this entry explores the idea of well what if he wasn't assassinated then how would history be any different well it is suggested that if he hadn't died in 1942 that he would have maintained control of the German Secret Service Group by the name of werewolf this was an actual group in Germany that was planned and designed to perform behindth line enemy attacks staging you know surprise killings and attacks and bombings on the Allies not like face to face face but waiting until the Allies got closer and closer to Germany and then the werewolves would you know pop up from Behind Enemy Lines and caused just a bunch of Mayhem and chaos but obviously hedric was killed Germany lost the war and so this never went this far but what if say Germany had lost the war anyway hric had lived and after all of the dust and Rubble settled hric and the werewolves which sounds like an awesome band name started just popping up and Performing random G attacks on the Allied Forces well in this timeline with these surprise guilla attacks the werewolves kill the Soviet Ivan Kev and the American General George Patton the Allies try to root them out try to find them try to stop them but they are just way too slippery the werewolves continue their bombings and secret killings they poison a bunch of Soviet officers during this like New Year's party celebration they're honestly just a menace they can't be found they can't be stopped and they're seemingly holding Germany up even after Germany technically lost the US and the UK eventually are just like n we don't want any of this and they just pull out of Germany hric is eventually found and killed but he is replaced by his second in command the story just kind of ends up in the air about whether the werewolves are actually able to reclaim Germany or not or whether they're just completely destroyed and ended but it is a very interesting one to think about as hric while being an evil psychopath was also extremely clever and that is not a good combination so what might have happened if he wasn't killed in 1942 likely nothing good Batman holy Terror so this alternate timeline goes all the way back to 1658 where in our universe Oliver Cromwell a quite famous and prominent English politician died he was responsible for invading and uniting Scotland and Ireland and was basically in control of England for 5 years before his death but this Batman comic explores the idea that instead of dying in 1658 he instead lived and ruled England for 10 more years and what might have been the outcome well it goes that Cromwell survives and turns Britain and its colonies into a theocracy in other words a heavily religious government and Society this includes obviously the American colonies and fast forward to the 20th century Bruce Wayne after both of his parents are killed which I guess is like a cannon event now you know no matter what his parents are going to be killed but he is planning to join the church when his good friend James Gordon contacts him and informs him that his parents' deaths weren't random that they were planned hits by the corrupt Theocratic government and so this puts Bruce Wayne on the path to becoming Batman and to taking down and destroying the corrupt government as you know Batman does best it's a pretty cool story that features like the flash Aquaman and again if you like Comics if you like DC if you like Batman or if you just like alternate timelines definitely check this one out tier four decisive Darkness takes us through a timeline where Japan doesn't surrender in World War II the Japanese leaders feel it is a dishonor to surrender and so even though they are losing and quite clearly lost they just don't give up it results in the US and British troops invading Mainland Japan destroying homes torching Villages and cities shooting anyone who resists which apparently is a lot of people and the Soviets then invade Japan from the north while Japan prepares to make its final stand but they're unable to repel the invading forces and soon Japan is completely captured and in this timeline it seems kind of similar to something like Korea where you might have a proxy war going on between the Soviets in the North and the Americans in the South trying to VI for you know control and territory over Japan but it's an interesting one nonetheless red flood explores a timeline where the war between Japan and Russia in 1904 goes a lot better for Russia than it actually did in our timeline making them an even stronger Force in World War I this leads to more fear of the Soviets a deadlier World War I in which there are no real winners and a potentially deadlier World War II as a result of you know all this back in the US SAA so this is a very interesting timeline where Teddy Roosevelt is assassinated in 1912 and this leads to Charles Kane the vice president becoming the new US president they enter World War I earlier than our timeline and Kan arranges the assassination of his political rival woodro Wilson a few other things are different in this timeline one of the major ones being that the United States faces a communist Uprising from within and Russia and China don't so this results in a second US Civil War in which president Cain is removed from power and executed and the new Socialist Party is implemented in America and there is like a reverse cold war between the now communist United socialist States of America or USSA and the Democratic capitalistic Russia so very odd eventually power in America is taken by who else than Al Capone and he rules the USSA extremely brutally extremely rically restricting freedoms and basically imprisoning or killing anyone who stands in his way then after World War II and the AFF forementioned Cold War the USSA eventually slowly becomes weaker and ends up breaking up into various smaller States they are no longer the USA pretty interesting one and a little concerning almost to think about what might have happened had communism become really really prevalent in the west but thankfully we never had to experience that the Mirage is honestly a very strange and interesting concept it basically imagines the us as being in the Middle East instead of in the west so there's this country called the United Arab states which is in this story basically the United States and they are reasonable and responsible and a lot of Europe and America are backwards and Savage and very Theocratic you know filled with tons of religious extremism the uas are on the side of the allies during World War II and after defeating Hitler they create Israel and they create it in Germany with Berlin as its capital so this is you know obviously a home for the Jewish people now but Britain and its prime minister are constantly calling for the destruction of Israel and the U is fighting to preserve Israel as well as fight their war on terror in Europe the USA is actually the CSA or the Christian States of America and it is a Theocratic dictatorship ruled by lyen B Johnson there is a group called The World Christian Alliance which is basically the equivalent of al-Qaeda and they live in the Rocky Mountains in the United States and plan on November the 9th 2001 an attack with ples into the tigress and Euphrates Towers in Baghdad so yeah you can see where they were going with these analogies and it is pretty interesting and unique to see it from that perspective in a way it's obviously not an incredibly likely one but I do like it just for its shift in perspective Ive Lion's blood explores a world where Islam spreads throughout Africa and Africa becomes the epicenter of advanced technology and because of this Africa gets an early upper hand and Europe is kind of left in the Dark Ages still and this story takes place in the 19th century it follows this white Irish family that is captured and sold as slaves to African slave owners in South America they then grow up and are massively influenced by their Muslim and African owners and they come to kind of accept and even promote Islam and slavery it's a very odd timeline story that as with a few others on this Iceberg just kind of shifts the perspective a little bit so a little odd but pretty interesting the sky people explores the entire history of the world I guess where intelligent life is found both on Venus and Mars This intelligent life is humans and Neanderthals which is pretty strange I mean how did that happen but this discovery quite predictably changes our priorities down here on Earth and almost every country especially the US and Russia end up basically in a space race to colonize space and their planets they eventually end up with space bases on Venus and they find plants and trees and dinosaurs on Venus seemingly alive and well this is truly the strangest timeline spoilers up ahead in case you're planning on exploring this yourself later on but there slowly like hauh these humans speak the same language that we spoke way back when so that's weird and hauh what are the odds that humans and dinosaurs both evolved exactly the same on Venus as they did on Earth pretty strange and what are the odds that neanderthals and plants that are similar to Earth all occurred as well pretty strange and pretty unlikely if not impossible so they're pondering this wondering how it happened until they find this other alien race on Venus that has basically been abducting things from Earth and seeding them onto Venus so that kind of explains everything then they find similar stuff on Mars and it's just a very strange weird time very interesting read but not super realistic in terms of history but still a great one nonetheless the Kerberos Saga so it's World War II and Japan joins the Allies instead of the axis forces the US sits this war out just as they did with World War I one and the Germans end up winning World War II due to their advancements in technology and then they defeat Russia they nuke Japan but the assassination attempt from klus Von Stenberg which failed in our timeline instead succeeds this leads to Nazism being cleansed from Germany and the wear Republic being restored so now a relatively normal but still very strong Germany as they did you know when World War II occupies Japan and offers to stabilize Japan and build them back up and this leads to stuff such as immense crimes Uprising rebellions and an attempted coup so a pretty cool timeline and it honestly seems like Japan can't win no matter what side they choose so it's pretty unfortunate to be them occupied explores a world in which Norway develops and pushes nuclear energy as opposed to oil or Gas Energy so for some background on this the US pulls out of NATO and War in the Middle East leads to Mass massive energy troubles worldwide so because of these issues the green party in Norway gets boosted into Power by the people and they stop all production of fossil fuels in their country they put most of their focus onto nuclear energy and this stopping of production indirectly massively affects most of Europe and so Europe teams up with Russia and invades Norway the Russians kidnap the prime minister of Norway and basically threaten him with death and tell him to reverse all of the recent changes that he made and he obliges and promises that he will there is a lot of back and forth and animosity between the occupying Russians and the Norwegians and there's attacks and assassinations and kidnapped kidnapped kidnappings and all of this came from Norway simply wanting better energy some people honestly tier five a giant sucking sound so it's 1992 and Ross perau the Third Party candidate actually wins the US presidency he starts a new political party called the Freedom Party and essentially makes the US a solid three-party system as opposed to the two-party system that it's been for God knows how long the North American trade agreement between US Canada and Mexico ends up basically getting cancelled and a few things internationally change with policies being made that aren't really Democratic or republican but more this kind of new flavor of third party Brandon Lee Bruce Lee's son ends up becoming a Super famous Hollywood star and it's all very wild stuff it's all very detailed and it is a long read if you want to check it out in your own time the anglo-american Nazi war so this is an alternate timeline in which Germany defeats Russia during operation Barbarosa and with Russia defeated and with all the extra resources that Germany gets Germany itself becomes an incredible fighting force it is a really horrific incredibly wellth thought out incredibly well written account and timeline and after Hitler's eventual death in 1959 himler along with the SS basically take over the country and himler does eventually end up losing the country and all the power but not before making a final Last Stand so World War II ends up being dragged out way longer than it was in our timeline it ends much more violently than it was in our timeline and by the end almost 98% of All European Jews are wiped out along with with 85% of all Polish people and 190 million people total in the war roughly four to five times as many has died in our timeline this would have been the worst war in history by far and we probably honestly came a little too close to comfort for an outcome like this Reds explores the timeline of what if President McKinley wasn't assassinated in 1901 well this goes on to say that because Teddy Roosevelt wasn't made president socialist ideas in America would become more prevalent and after World War I the American people become largely divided and the Great Depression hits and then a socialist Uprising soon follows there is a socialist Civil War in America and a communist America is something I would not want to see for all time is a very extensive alternate history based Loosely on what would happen if FDR died in office just before Pearl Harbor and it covers World War II and how the German offensive would move as far as even New York Hitler later gets shot and is in critical condition and hric the psychopath we mentioned from earlier takes over as the furer of the party and of the country Italy is now on the side of the good guys and declares war on HRI and the SS kind of takes control of the German Army and the German people and just everyone and their mothers are declaring war now on ha HRI and on the SS including the regular Germans the Allies then nuke Berlin which severely cripples hric and they eventually capture and arrest hric they arrest the in critical condition and incapacitated Hitler and sign a peace treaty with the new Germans essentially ending the war it ends with the final invasion of Japan by the Soviets and the Western Powers with Japan again refusing to surrender and fighting basically nail and tooth to the end when eventually reluctantly the emperor surrenders and this ends World War II it is a fantastic 20year plus old alternate timeline written in the early days of the internet and a super super cool one if you want to give it a read Blue Skies of Camelot explores a world where Marilyn Monroe doesn't die in 1962 and this leads to JFK not being assassinated the following year which leads to a full-blown JFK presidency this leads to a 1960s with less up peval more fairness more civil rights more equality and abroad stuff was more peaceful less Wars just generally a better time it is as with a lot of alternate timelines on the alternate history website incredibly detailed incredibly well written and a very very good read so I would recommend checking it out if you think you might like this sort of thing Atlantis is a world in which Atlantis actually exists and doesn't sink the split or point of Divergence in this timeline is I guess like 85 million years ago where shifts in the continent result in the Island of Atlantis actually forming and that's obviously if you believe that it doesn't exist in our timeline humans discover this island for the first time in 1452 by the French of all people and Atlantis is kind of like Japan where it's this Long Island along with a bunch of smaller islands that were you know like in the Caribbeans scattered kind of all around it and the whole thing main island small Islands the whole thing is dubbed Atlantis so the French former settlement the English form one and the Spanish two and by the 1600s around where sort of New York would have been if this land was you know still attached to America there is a massive growing pirate Colony that just you know goes around and Pirates things ships and cargo and things such as then Britain starts taxing its Atlantean colony and the atlantans scream no taxation without representation or whatever the equivalent is in atlantan they fight back gain independence and they form the USA or the United States of Atlantis and it basically becomes America or at least some version of it as I said they had the war of independence they later have a USA Civil War and they spout egalitarianism fairness Justice and religious freedom so yeah it's basically like a new flavor of the United United States on an island Nords and Crosses is basically the European flip of the colonization of Africa where in this timeline Africa instead gets the upper hand and they end up colonizing Europe the norts are the white or lighter skinned people and the crosses are the black or darker skinned people Africa is united in this timeline and called zafa which is very creative guys and Scandinavia as far as I can tell is just one country you know Norway Finland Sweden it's just all one and they are the only n or white country left on Earth again as with a few others it's an interesting flip of perspective and it seems like a pretty interesting story if you dig that sort of thing Joe steel and God I really do love these Harry turtle dove timelines always Super Creative Joe steel describes an alternate timeline where Joseph Stalin is born in America instead of in Russia or Georgia instead of Stalin he goes by the name Joe steel and with those political instincts probably flowing through his blood he naturally becomes a US politician and eventually becomes the US president so in his runup to the presidency When Things become a bit closer than he'd like maybe in the Democratic primary Joe steel has Roosevelt burnt alive in order to you know take out his competition and guarantee that he got the Democrat nomination so with Roosevelt out of the way Joe steel goes up in the eneral election against Republican Herbert Hoover he wins the election massively and becomes the new president implementing a bunch of you know regular American policies as well as some you know classic Stalin stuff so forced labor camps for enemies of the state pretty tyrannical law and he arrests four Supreme Court Justices that basically just don't agree with him and has them executed for treason and he then just goes on to basically kill or capture or both anyone who stands in his way when World War II breaks out and Pearl Harbor is attacked Joe steel charges two of the top American Military guys who were you know in charge of things around that area for not predicting Pearl Harbor or dealing with it well enough and has them executed for incompetence which these are his own military guys just remember Japan is eventually defeated Einstein and Oppenheimer are eventually captured and executed because they didn't inform steel of the potential of creating an atomic bomb because you know they didn't trust him and they didn't want him with that technology but he eventually finds out arrests them executes them and starts production as best he can on an atomic bomb anyway a cold war is once again fought between the Russians and the Americans and steel eventually wins his sixth presidential election but dies a few years later and even though he's dead the American system is completely shaken up Hoover becomes director of the United States through this timelines equivalent of the FBI essentially and Hoover ends up being just as bad if not worse than steel a very interesting one and I really like alternate histories like this it really shows that someone as brutal and ruthless as Stalin probably wouldn't have been good for any system and there's obviously questions as to whether he would have been like this if he was raised in America or if he were like this whether the American system with all of its checks and balances would have been able to stop his tyrannical rise to power some good question and a very interesting one North Reich describes a universe where the UK surrenders to Germany in World War II and as a result the UK and its entire Commonwealth becomes the property of Germany including Canada which becomes a major German Hub essentially and instead of Germany directly declaring war on the United States during World War II they kind of you know build up their forces around Canada do some minor border attacks sneak attack sort of thing and then plan for a major attack directly against America a super interesting creative timeline I think and honestly with all of these alternate timelines it's genuinely scary to think what might have happened if Germany had won World War II or if it had gone on much longer than it did or if Germany somehow attained more power than they actually did Liberty 1784 the second war for independence so this explores a timeline where Britain wins the Revolutionary War this results in GE Washington being captured taken back to the UK and hung for treason and with Britain obviously taking over the American colonies they kill any remaining Rebels and set up harsher rules regulations and punishments to stop a rebellion like this happening in the future the resistance having mostly been defeated head Northwest to like the modern-day Chicago area and they set up a new colony called Liberty the resistance has mostly been defeated it ends with the British sending their their army over to Liberty to try and finish them off and obviously an intense battle ensues I think we kind of take it for granted the United States but it is wild to learn and think about how many times firstly that it very easily could have just not been started not founded not got its independence not being as large as it is today or if the South had won the Civil War just how different that would make America today and consequently the rest of the world disaster at D-Day is as I'm not a historian but it is apparently many people have said a very well-written historical account of what might have happened had D-Day just gone a little bit differently in Normandy in 1944 one of the things that a lot of people strive for in these alternate timelines is the likelihood of occurring as the more likely a timeline is to have occurred the more believable that timeline is and in this timeline it is apparently very believable as they only really changed a few parameters during during D-Day so Hitler moved just one extra group or Legion to you know X area he got a tiny bit of extra foresight or information here really very minor changes could have resulted in Hitler winning on that day and if he won that day he could have invaded the British Isles and with that potentially won World War II scary stuff tier six eyes turn skywards is a very interesting alternate timeline where NASA choose to develop the reusable space shuttle as opposed to the space station the outcome for this would have been in this timeline more advanced Rockets more advanced space travel and potentially resulting in us getting even to Mars like by the 2000s and potentially making bases on the moon or other planets making regular trips out to space out to asteroids a lot of possibilities on this one and very fun to think about a rebel in time is interestingly enough kind of like an in Universe alternate timeline their timeline is the same as ours at the start and the premise is that there's this racist Colonel who's basically been investigated by this special military Watchdog Bureau he is acting super sass buying up tons of gold I mean not literally tons but lots of gold and so they put Troy Harmon on the case who just happens to be a black investigator and he discovers that the colonel is planning on building a time machine because of course he is and is planning to go back to the US Civil War to give them blueprints of a world War II machine gun basically winning the Civil War for the South Troy follows him back in time and obviously faces a really really hard time being a black man back in the Civil War era so yeah it kind of creates an alternate timeline in universe so again not one of the more likely timelines but still very interesting west of Eden is an alternate timeline written by Harry Harrison which is a great name by the way and it describes a world in which the Great asteroid of 65 million years ago that wiped out among many other things the dinosaurs never actually ended up happening and this led the way for dinosaurs to evolve into basically super dinosaurs really intelligent descendants of mosasaurs which are these guys and they become the dominant species on the planet not humans as humans in this timeline don't exist at least not yet but these reptiles do fail to flourish and spread to North America and the Caribbeans so without them dominating there a humanlike species the tanu develop the humans at this point are barely in the Stone Age and the reptiles are super super Advanced so they see humans as barely functional super primitive harmless kind of like how we maybe see rabbits or something the reptiles are this weird aquatic species basically specking super hard into biological sciences and so all of their technology is basically biology or animal SLC creature based like it's very strange if they want boats they just take squids and genetically modify them to be boat-shaped and docile if they want guns they take lizards that naturally spit and modify them to you know spit actual projectiles and to have some sort of trigger system or something it's a very strange almost evil I would say society and I mean you should expect nothing less from a lizard dinosaur Society but it is a very interesting perspective on a very very far back point of Divergence Malle Rising explores a timeline where the Malay Uprising which was this uprising of Muslim slaves in Brazil in 1835 was just slightly more successful in our timeline they were defeated quite thoroughly but in this timeline they still don't win but they fight just well enough in order that they escape South America and a good portion of them actually make it back to Africa from here they establish a new country an Islamic religious Republic near Nigeria and their existence in Africa Sparks a bunch of other movements and events and uprisings and it's a very Niche point of Divergence I would say which I guess is a good thing on one hand because it is quite unique but still not many people myself included knew about something like the Malay Uprising and so I think an alternate timeline like this isn't quite as emotionally impactful as say a better known point of Divergence but it is what it is the chaos timeline is the kind of alternate timeline that I really really dig it changes one thing so it's very simple and this one thing is far enough back in history that it has really a major effect on our current timeline and that one thing that this changes from our timeline is that genas Khan never really made his conquests which is significant because this guy was absolutely absolutely insane so it starts off with Kangaskhan dying in 1200 basically causing everything he had built and had been working towards to fall into chaos and disarray this results in a weaker Mongol Empire and a weaker Mongol leadership and while the Mongols do end up conquering they don't conquer quite as aggressively or quite as much and one thing I learned while I was researching this one which I thought was actually really cool was that genghiskhan himself was very perceptive and actually open open to learning new things and from the people and areas that he conquered he often tried to learn and Implement as much as he could from them into his Empire like for instance when gengas started the Mongol Empire they didn't really have a written language he took the weer script from the weer people that he invaded adjusted it to fit his needs and implemented it into his Empire teaching all of his people how to use it and write with it and when invading China they discovered what the Chinese discovered earlier gunpowder which genas then took and used in order to Siege cities and structures so he wasn't just stuck in his ways he was basically just going from place to place basically slowly upgrading his Empire like it was a video game or something and so you can see how a reverse Snowball Effect might happen if the Mongol Empire is weaker which means they can't conquer X then they won't learn y technology which means without this technology they're not able to conquer Zed and then because I'm running out of letters this all snowballs into a weaker Mongol Empire this results in a few different things one being the rest of the world being relatively stronger to countries like for example Poland that obviously exist in our timeline ceasing to exist either temporarily or permanently and other countries becoming stronger and more advanced like Germany and the Black Death not striking Europe which leads to a partial potential overpopulation crisis and eventually a socialist Europe especially in the west this is a very wellth thought out very welld discussed timeline and it is quite well written so definitely check this one out if it sounds interesting Moonlight in a jar describes a world in which Al Andalusia this guy survives and the Christian takeback of Iberia never happens so basically this area is Iberia more or less modern-day Spain and Portugal and way way back in the day it was conquered from the south by Muslims and the north by Christians I'm oversimplifying this a little bit but that's basically the gist of it it was eventually won by the Christians and the current day culture of Spain obviously reflects this but in this alternate timeline the Christians never take Iberia and this results in Islam having a much greater influence and impact on Europe and since the Europeans including the Spanish discovered the Americas this means that in this alternate timeline the Arabs essentially through their newly acquired Spain or Iberia the Arabs first discovered over the Americans and they impart an Islamic influence Over America as opposed to a Christian influence that the Spanish did and I hope this is all making sense so far and once again it's insane to think about how fragile and subtle a lot of the Americas both South and North are if not heavily Christian at least influenced by Christianity and that is because Europe conquered them and Europe was Christian and that was again mainly because of the Romans eventually being Christian and the Romans conquering Europe and so you take one change like this one major European explorer and the whole of America could be massively Islamic based as opposed to christian-based which I have no idea how that would affect the founding of America of all of the wars they fought of them being united and being a republic and with America being different how that would affect the rest of the world you could probably think and discuss for years on this topic and it is a very very interesting one to ponder Vortex describes basically a more extreme and violent few years running up to the apartheid of South Africa it involves fighting assassinations political murders riots and even nukes and was a wild one but for me just a little hard to get into prey explores an alternate timeline where the USSR discovers an alien species on one of their satellites in the 1980s they work with the US to build essentially a space station prison to you know house these aliens and then later a large company somehow acquires this prison and turns it into a research facility to you know study the aliens and develop new biological and physiological products in order to enhance the human brain and experience and to sell it down to humans on Earth so one of the less likely entries on the iceberg I'll admit but I am a sucker for these alien-based ones as it is such a major event that we really haven't experienced like imagine aliens creatures whatever being discovered anywhere in space like on a satellite on a space station on the moon on a planet on an asteroid an actual creature of some kind it would just be absolutely fascinating and completely terrifying but it might just happen one of these days the days of infamy Series so this is another one by Harry Turtle do the king of alternate histories this explores the question what if as well as attacking Pearl Harbor Japan also decided to launch an attack on and invade the entirety of Hawaii well in this timeline Japan continues their attack and after some defeats suffered by the United States they end up giving up that fight to Japan so now Japan has Hawaii this results in Japan having the upper hand in both the Pacific and in Asia and so Japan uses Hawaii as a base and proceeds to invade and Conquer a bunch of Asian countries and this includes attacking a Australia and launching attacks and bomb raids on the US West Coast and this results in America feeling basically embarrassed by their defeat and somewhat responsible so they throw everything and the kitchen sink at Japan and Hawaii leading to a victory in Hawaii and to the US taking it back and they treat the Japanese people both abroad and in America worse than in our timeline which is not great and also as a result of America throwing basically everything into this fight they failed to help Europe quite as much as they should which results in the Allies losing the war in Europe so pretty huge implications from this one especially when you consider that the events really didn't change too much like Japan just took over Hawaii America took it back not too much difference but this meant losing the war to the Germans in Europe April and the extraordinary world so this explores an alternate World an extraordinary world if you will where Napoleon the third was killed in an explosion and the French Prussian war never happened not this Napoleon by the way but his nephew this leads to a quite frankly absurd plot where over the next 70 years or so a bunch of prominent scientists end up going missing and this halts all scientific advancements across the world leading to this strange smog filled toxic steampunk World they eventually discover that these scientists have been kidnapped by two sensient Modo dragons who have forced these scientists to work and create this giant jungle underground ecosystem underneath the City of Paris the cient lizard's plan is to create this rocket and fill it with seeds and vegetations and plants and stuff fire it up into space landed on another planet and for it to spread and you know fill the planet with all of this plant life and then for them to go up there relocate to this planet and populate it with a bunch of the the senent lizards which is a wild plan and I'm not too sure that's even how stuff works like you can't just shoot plants up onto Mars and expect the plants not to die but to spread all around Mars and make Mars a habitable environment like honestly these [ __ ] lizards man but one of the lizards reveals that they have secretly rigged the rocket to instead explode and say that their plan isn't to terraform another planet but for the rocket to blow up wipe out all of humanity and then for these lizard people to emerge and take over the Earth which I mean perhaps that's already happened it has kind of a happy ending the talking cat named Darwin lives which is always nice but if you like animated alternate timeline films definitely check this one out it seems super super fun and that is all we have time for this was an incredibly interesting start to this Iceberg and we covered a bunch of interesting top topics premises and Alternate timelines and histories this is just the beginning and in the next two parts we will be covering some insane alternate timelines which you will not want to miss I really hope you enjoyed this video guys and as always thanks for watching
