The $3000 Custom Gigguk Keyboard

three two one oh oh this looks so good ah so this is guy also known as giga he's a veteran youtuber an anime scene and is also one of the youtubers that actually inspired me to start youtube i actually met giggup in afa back in 2018 and i took a quick picture of him we took this photo i think i remember that photo so originally i actually contacted giger to replace his pretty crap keyboard and weirdly enough he said yes and so we hopped onto a call and i introduced him to the wonderful world of custom mechanical keyboards but this being gigguk i'm not going to cheap out on the presentation let me remind you this is not just me building any other ordinary keyboard for any other youtuber this was me building probably the coolest keyboard ever for the person that literally made this channel so there is no way i'm going to cheap on the presentation with some cheap powerpoint slide that i'm just going to make in five minutes click to add subtitle i love it this is my powerpoint i call it the likes i think of gigguk so okay yeah let's let's just go through the powerpoint the light all right it's animated [Laughter] you do like the voice right you know anime man and yeah c dog va you know like is a very strong word tolerate uh is a better word but uh for the most part yes i do i do like the boys it's just a light rays nothing further you know yeah it's just like other things that i thought you liked because i did do some you know research crustless pizza you know hell yes hell yes now you're speaking my language in bone chicken yes across this bread [Music] machine of course yeah very good you've done your research well yeah uh to be honest i don't know how this will help but uh let's move on to keyboard stuff so we talked a bit more about keyboards and this was the rough build he had in mind trying to i'm trying to give more of a [ __ ] about uh aesthetics as well so i think 75 would be perfect fair enough fair enough i think in terms of themes ava unit 2 theme or oscar themed volume knob do i mean a volume it'll suit with like the ava style of like you know piloting a mecca or anything so i think having a volume knob on there would actually look pretty damn cool all right so yeah that's pretty much it i have so uh thank you for coming down to this slideshow that i have for you why would you show my failure on screen like that i'll probably see you in three months alright i'll see you in three months then so with the call finished it was time to start building giger's keyboard but first we need to do a few things okay first off i have no idea what it's an even jelly on and giga wants the keyboard themed of them and so because of that i went to watch every episode of evangelion but here's a quick rundown of what happened so neon genesis evangelion is a show about [Music] oh [Music] is about post-apocalyptic tokyo being attacked by monsters wait sorry angel and then there are these macs which are piloted by children weirdly enough to stop them and one of the mags is called zero two we know that's the girl and one of the max is called unit two which is the theme of the keyboard and it's also piloted by asuka which it's oscar now with that knowledge all that's left to do is to design the keyboard but out of all the parts of the keyboard we can't choose the switches for giggup because that would be based off his preference so i ship gigan this special switch tester with 87 different switches and i'm sending him all this so that we could get the switch that he likes welcome back guys it's been about a month since we had the last call what are you talking about it's been it's been literally a few seconds oh yeah yeah no it's been about four seconds since the last call i sent you a keyboard switch tester kit i have it i have this now i absolutely suck at making decisions and the amount of switches on here are definitely intimidating me right now what do you mean it's only 87. that is to explain a bit more about it there's three different kinds of switch so there's tactile linears and the one that everybody hates clickies i remember when i first like when mechanical keyboards first started becoming a thing i thought the clicky things were like the coolest thing ever and then i remember i buying a clicky keyboard and it was cool for about a day and then the noise got really annoying probably not gonna choose one of the clicky ones okay so if you look at the gray ones those two keys are actually the keys from your keyboard oh they actually yeah the left one is your normal key and the right one is actually lou so which one's the lubed one oh no the legendary holy pandas which everybody likes i like this one i like i like the feel of this one it's got a little bit of resistance but not too much i definitely like the feel of this one the most so far he likes the holy fence he likes the holy pandas does this mean i'm just like a normy [ __ ] or something like that i just like one that everyone else likes you are called trash taste so kale box jades those are the most clicky switch that you can find it's the green one at the bottom right oh oh oh these these are these are bits oh i don't like them oh my god this is so loud let's let's go with the bottom let's go he's going with the holy pandas guys we we got giggup to choose holy pandas so gigantic the holy pandas nice well time to get some holy pandas turns out you don't buy holy pandas from the zoo or at least the zoo i went to but i know one place which definitely will have holy pandas and that place so happens to be my What aspect of this makes it worth 3k.genuine question i believe people deserve to be paid for their work and people can spend how they choose. Is it labor ? Or materails ? What is it ?
