[Music] [Music] [Music] these are the three most beautiful guitars in the world well at least that's what I think is I really love them so I think this is the first time I had my main three acoustics right as cases next to each other and if you follow me in Instagram usually seeing me taking pictures of the three standing cozy side-by-side if you haven't seen it go check it out my instagram is paul davids guitar people frequently ask me about my guitars and this video is about my acoustic and I'll stick to the guitars I used 99% of the time which brings it down to three my Martin D 42 the callings om2 H and the Taylor 716 C II [Music] and let's start with Taylor so this is my first proper acoustic guitar about it in 2010 I believe and it's a Taylor 716 C II spring limited which means it's made from Madagascar rosewood instead of Indian rosewood the top is fruits look at how wonderful the wood looks a real pleasure for the eye a beautiful rosette with abalone inlay and a neat looking binding and a characteristic neck joint this is a workhorse it's been to quite a few places 30 years and under a lot of tough conditions smoke bear sweat cold weather and sometimes even a deadly combination of all those the real plus for this guitar is that it sounds great plugged in I nearly always plug it into the DI straight into the PA no amp no pedals it's fitted with the expression system which is pretty good compared to most acoustic pickups I heard and that's why I almost always use the Taylor in a live band setting no trouble with bleeding no feedback always spot-on they call this shape the grand symphony which means it has a bigger body which results into a heavier bass response and more volume when playing strumming according to the specs is well suited for finger picking too but I don't use it for that to be honest I certainly use its guitar at home that's because I always prefer one of my other two guitars for that [Music] the next guitar I want to talk about is the cullings om 2h let us take a look at this masterpiece this guitar is built with so many respect for detail it's almost art on the first side this guitar looks pretty basic but just take a look at the ivory with herringbone purfling binding or a beautiful workmanship on the neck with an eye for the smallest details the characteristic angular headstock and the diamond shape volute at the back of the headstock where it meets the neck the OM or Orchestra model is a body shape better suited for the finger picker or the lights drummer [Laughter] [Music] it resonates very easily even the lightest touch strong or pluck gets rewarded with the sound it's just like out of this world for the size this guitar has an impressive bass response and really fits the gentle player better playing this guitar sometimes makes you feel like it guides you through the right notes when played next to a dreadnought guitar sound may be a bit thin but it's very well suited for styles where you don't need that a bombastic or overwhelming bassy sound the guitar is much more defined and projects every note with a great deal of precision the thing you won't find in any sort of dreadnought yet guitar [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Laughter] last but boy definitely not least this is my Martin D 42 I never played a guitar it sounds so impressive right off the bat as this one as I told you before I first played this guitar in Nashville first drum I was blown away and sold unfortunately I couldn't afford one over there and I couldn't bring it back home on the plane so I decided to buy one secondhand over here I just had to wait for one to pop up but then after a month or so I found this one but the seller called it used with dents scratches and more but on first side I thought it looked absolutely stunning and of course it helped the price go down as well and a big bonuses I don't have to be that careful with it when you look closely you see some dents and all but I really don't care it's a guitar and it's meant to be played and oh boy does it play the gorgeous abalone inlays on the headstock and neck the binding and the gold hardware it's all not important compared to the sound it produces a fat and super rich well-balanced loud but just like perfectly loud varam and shiny dome and the weird thing is everything you play sounds wonderful on this guitar from finger-picking to heavy strumming [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] but why not take the om4 finger-picking good question thanks the Martin has a mellower attack and it sort of compresses the sound it's like a building compressor in your guitar it sounds much more smooth and for some Germans like pop music can be a sound you're looking for it can't deliver the articulation of the OM but there's no one guitar that does it all but this comes pretty close so do I have a favorite yes but I can't say which one I don't want to hurt a guitar but I gotta say the cullings and the Martin are definitely amongst my favorites steps for everything I'm playing are available at my patreon page where if you really like what I do you can support me and I want to say a big thank you to everyone doing that already check out the link in the description and maybe I'll see you next time with the electrical version of this video thank you for watching I hope you enjoyed this video have a wonderful day see you next time bye [Music] you
