now that we've seen a huge amount of the games that are supposed to be coming out uh this year and will then obviously be in the running for Game of the Year and we have a few more coming I thought it would be fun for us to potentially uh do like a game of the year tier list prediction kind of thing and I've created the whole [ __ ] you know the setup foot obviously and everything and and I figured we'd we'd do it together we we would see uh if we if we have some agreements on which games we think are gonna do well from a game of the year perspective which ones we think kind of like you know we're Hit or Miss which ones didn't make it um but at the same time I want to say before we start this whole thing off this is obviously my [ __ ] list and your list might be different but uh it in the end like you know before you lose your [ __ ] mind because of how I write something like let me just say uh why are you mad it's only game okay so so don't don't worry about the [ __ ] too much um also by the way I want to say it's possible that I might not have a game on this list some indie [ __ ] that you played that I was not [ __ ] aware of okay and so that's also too [ __ ] bad okay so so we're just gonna have to we're just gonna have to roll with the [ __ ] punches on that one uh my list supersedes your list well your list supersedes my list in your mind so you know see that see how that works okay cool so we're gonna go um let me figure out probably something like this I think this is the this is the way that we're gonna set this up and now the other thing I know that I'm throwing up a lot of like yeah in case of this and in case of this in the case of this kind of situations but also just obviously see bear in mind that some of the games that we're going to be talking about here are games that are yet to come out okay so that's also like a problem right uh that we have to we have to you know content with and and for those cases we would probably you know guess you know our best guess you know um [ __ ] me I just saw you mention like Final Fantasy do I have dude I might actually not have Final Fantasy in this list which is the first epic fail right is that is that the case do I not have Final Fantasy in this [ __ ] list I might actually have to quickly just edit this [ __ ] [Laughter] a few moments later so it's gonna be kind of like it's gonna be kind of like alphabetic in a way so so we might hit like a lot of like the really good ones at the start obviously but um yeah we're just gonna go right ahead and start it off from the top I'm not gonna cherry pick out of the list and then yeah as mentioned okay so uh let me also just explain my rating system here quickly uh so obviously the very bottom we have stank what and that's if something is just you know not not even like like I it's a game that came out this year uh it was [ __ ] terrible and so therefore it shouldn't be considered to the list at all then nothing special is kind of like mid you know so it's it's I um I I know that that we're not leaving a lot of Headroom here for like a game that was let's say for example like semi-decent but you know not that great and that's what I mean by nothing special like it's a and and once I I throw some games into this category you guys will understand what I mean by that but the point is like it's a good game it's a functional game but it's just it's just more the same it's there's you know nothing nothing great there no no nothing amazing there and you walk away from it like a little while later and it's like you know whatever uh so close is stuff that you know for one or two faults would have been a contender for potentially being considered for uh a game of the year did midnight sounds about this year [ __ ] midnight Suns was at the end of last year so it is what it is okay um then so as mentioned so close is something that's almost in contention then potential game of the year is where I would like to put the finalists right and then winner is where I am going to predict what I think Wins Game of the Year so there will only be one one thing inside the winner category all right so we're going to start right off with Alan Wake okay Alan Wake too so funnily enough they just released like an eight minute Gameplay trailer or something like that which I actually also wanted to watch on stream tonight but Alan Wake 2 from from what I can see all right Alan Wake 2 is going very much in a survival horror kind of Direction so it's almost like becoming a cross between Alan Wake and Resident Evil and if that is true if that is accurate even if it's only a portion of the game like if one portion of the game is The Surreal survival um [ __ ] avoid ghost [ __ ] and everything like that um and then the other thing is like Resident Evil style pickup items all that [ __ ] and you know like fight against Monsters everything like that dude I am [ __ ] sold I I like the Alan Wake Universe I I I I don't think remedy make bad games uh even though some of the games are not as good for me as some of other you know remedies stable I thought control was a fantastic [ __ ] game and um control was one of those games that when I went back and played it you know the second time months after it came out I [ __ ] loved it even more so it grows on you right it's a grower not a shower so for me Alan Wake 2 is potentially game of the year now the only [ __ ] issue right is that Adam wake 2 is going to be a pure story based game that you know it's one and done kind of thing and sometimes those kinds of games do well and sometimes they don't um comparably we can say something like I don't know God of War right but the problem the problem is God of War has like New Game Plus and things like that so sometimes this makes the game rate higher for people things like that but I think that there is a place in the game of the year for like an extremely strong narrative driven story based game and if there is one of those games in the final list Alan Wake 2 is a good chance of being that game so definitely potential uh you know gold then um aliens Dark Descent came out this year and it it was like a it was like an interesting take on on on the franchise uh I think probably one of the nicest Renditions of like that that Universe in a game that I've seen in a long time I like the idea of like how you control your squad and you essentially move the entire Squad while providing backup to your units it was like an interesting way of like merging something like x-com with I don't know this will this will be far too old a game for possibly some of you but like Syndicate I don't know if you remember this from back in the day Syndicate was like this idea where he had a squad and you would essentially move the squad and the squad would free fire out and everything like that as enemies like sort of like pushed up on you and and so on and um definitely definitely alien doctor scene gave me a very very similar feel now that being said is this a potential a game of the year uh no uh is this a game that just just missed it to making it to Game of the Year no uh I think this is a very serviceable aliens game that shows a lot of love to the franchise but arguably in the end you know is not something that you know maybe years from now we'll be like oh my god do you remember when [ __ ] you know uh aliens Dark Descent came out so nothing special okay armored Core six fires of Rubicon I mean there's gonna be a couple of these which I feel will be like I don't know [ __ ] controversial Maybe not maybe just controversial in my own head uh this is this is you know a a from soft uh game which generally speaking the games rare you know rate very high and uh it's because the studio produces quality right the issue with armored Core is that it is a franchise that has kind of like been reawakened from the past and so a lot of people are not familiar with it if they are playing this it's their very first armored Core game and so it's not the same as like for instance what we saw with Alden ring right because Alden ring was like a new franchise but it was built on a very familiar tapestry okay meaning like it was basically you know like it it was a a Souls game but then like they just went like okay cool let's take a Souls game and let's make it like open world and so there was a lot of familiarity in there for people that like Souls games but now are just like okay cool now it's an open world but there's still this whole mechanic of Dodge and and parry and having to avoid them in your weapons and you know you carry weight and you know magic and that sort of thing whereas armored course is something almost like completely new right to people that have been playing uh from software games for a while um but not necessarily in the 90s so the the issue is that you are dealing with the fact that a lot of people that are playing this are finding it frustrating because it can be very hard and uh a lot of people are kind of like unfamiliar with it and they're expecting like this Grand Robotech Mech Warrior kind of story and and um the the thing with armored Core is it's very like Bare Bones like the story itself almost in the same way how Alden rings on the level story is very Bare Bones but once you start diving into the lore and everything like that it becomes something amazing I don't think that's the case for armored corn I think that's where it falls short as far as a game and how fun it is to play and what how good of an armored Core game it is uh I think it's a phenomenal game is it is it missing something that pushes it into Game of the Year potential no unfortunately not I don't think there's anything special about armored call I think it's a [ __ ] great armored Core game and it's awesome to have one on like new hardware but in the end unfortunately it's nothing special okay Assassin's Creed Mirage haven't played it my prediction obviously is that this will be nothing special I'm not going to say too much about it some of these games I'll talk more about some of them I want I'm not gonna [ __ ] draw your ears off um you know talking about something that I know nothing about but I don't think Assassin's Creed or Mirage has has anything special going for it uh the issue is I think the next one which supposedly is a samurai uh based you know Assassin's Creed I think the code name for it is assassins uh Assassin's Creed um red I think is the the nickname for it now or something like that um but I think we might need to wait until that Assassin's Creed comes out until we see some new flavor being injected into this franchise I think Assassin's Creed Mirage is going to uh repeat a lot of the Staples some of the stuff that we've recently seen in the Assassin's Creed games and it's just gonna dial it up to like 9 000 because it's Ubisoft and obviously they have so many [ __ ] fetch quests and do this and climb this Tower and [ __ ] unlock this thing and everything so just a [ __ ] ton of busy work and stuff for you to do that just might be Assassin's Creed for the rest of Eternity right but uh yeah again I don't think anything special uh and and I think like the whole Assassin's Creed franchise as a whole is probably [ __ ] like peaked in my opinion so that's why I mean even if it's a [ __ ] good game right I don't think it's gonna I don't think it's gonna be a [ __ ] game of the year so it is what it is Atlas Fallen hmm so Atlas Fallen came out uh it was it was a game that I kind of like had on my radar because I it looked for me a lot like Darksiders uh I the the art style the movement everything like that the idea of the game like it's kind of like a open not open world I think open world gets thrown around a lot too much right too locked too much uh so it's kind of like a semi-open world uh metroidvania kind of vibe right and the the problem with it is the the little that I've played of it I did not I I'm sure that there's a game there that once you put a couple of hours into you can possibly get invested into and then inevitably you kind of like just have that Stockholm syndrome where you like you have to [ __ ] finish it now so you ride it out all the way to the end but I think that Atlas Fallen I think the control is not great and in games like this the control needs to feel something that I always enjoyed about the dark side of this games is that uh your protagonist in Darksiders games felt heavy because he was swinging these big [ __ ] swords and [ __ ] and yeah he just big dude and armor everything like that and I'm specifically talking about dark side as one and two now um just the the movement matched the model and it just felt like slow and methodical and just really powerful and heavy and everything and then you look at something like Atlas Fallen which has got this phenomenal [ __ ] like sand skating kind of vibe right and then the actual combat is in my opinion super super lackluster so yeah so unfortunately now do I think that it stank see this is the thing and and I I also reserved the ride to as I drop some stuff into these categories I might reshuffle them depending on what I throw next into those categories but I don't I think like how I feel about Atlas Fallen is some games I will buy and I'll play it and I'll return it and I'll be like no [ __ ] this [ __ ] and to me that's like a stank game right where some games I'll buy and I'll play it and I'll be like you know if I if I'm willing to spend the time on this it's I'll probably walk away from this feeling like some of this money was well spent and in those games I don't return because I do feel like the studio tried to give me a product that I ended up you know enjoying somewhat but in the end was not really for me but you know it is what it is and in that way I still feel like they need to you know get that Moolah so I definitely don't think the stack but it's also definitely you know nothing special I feel like a lot of stuff is going to end up and there's nothing special category to be fair atomic heart interesting so Atomic art from a shooter perspective is almost too weird for its own good I think um some of the boss fights are really cool I think the guns are cool um but there's a lot of stuff about this game that I really did not enjoy like the fact that uh something that I enjoy in games like this uh is that you're able to like complete the map from one side to the other what I mean by this is like you you're like okay cool I spawn on the left side of the map I'm moving towards the right I'm playing stealthy I'm killing everything I'm being methodical I'm moving through it and um and then almost like when you reach the out the other sides are really cool I spent like a couple of hours like playing this I've killed like everything and uh I searched all the bunkers and everything like that and and that's not really the case with atomic card Atomic card has got this [ __ ] robots reinforcing the entire time it's like this really really frustrating combat Loop where if you get seen by a camera then it brings reinforcements in and those [ __ ] reinforcements you have to kill and then um you get away and then you get seen again and it's just yeah it's just yeah it I I ended up a lot of the times instead of partaking in the combat and having fun with it I just [ __ ] ran and that kind of like defeats the purpose for me of of this right I do think I'll ever like I like the boss encounters and everything like that so again atomic heart isn't close to being a game of the year or potential game of the year no uh it's got nothing special it's a shooter with some um some interesting ideas but then also some [ __ ] that drags it like down like something [ __ ] you know fierce um about this gate three okay so Brothers Gate 3 is definitely a potential goat now by the way guys I'm not gonna show you what my winner is until we've gone through all of these titles so I'm not gonna drop the potential I'm not gonna put the the what I would think what the winner is gonna be uh at the end of the year in there um until we have everything on here but uh for sure about this gate we don't even have to spend too much time talking about this balance Gate 3 is a [ __ ] phenomenon um it absolutely is Game of the Year [ __ ] potential the amount of love and [ __ ] effort and everything that uh larion and these guys have put into this [ __ ] game is ridiculous it's ridiculous and if you are even remotely a [ __ ] fan of Dungeons and Dragons then this is gaming Nirvana for you and then even if you're not a fan of it and this is the first time that you're even coming into touch with what [ __ ] you know uh a Dungeons and Dragons game or universe or anything like that is this [ __ ] will still blow your [ __ ] socks off so it's just really really good um it's it's in a weird way it's like a game that's gonna be for like the longest time um it's gonna become this measuring stick for for game development I think uh you can already see like the discourse and stuff online people like oh my God other [ __ ] developers are scared because they're not gonna be able to make as good quality games as that I think that's a bit [ __ ] hyperbolic but yeah I definitely think you have to you have to acknowledge the [ __ ] 800 pound [ __ ] gorilla in the in the room for sure Starfield and that Starfield is is a funny one right uh I definitely don't think starfield's gonna win game of the year I also don't think it's Game of the Year material and the reason why I say that is because it it is a I enjoy playing stuff this is gonna sound weird I enjoy playing Starfield but I don't think it's a good game and I know that that's [ __ ] that's the [ __ ] weirdest stupidest [ __ ] that anybody can say but legitimately that's how I feel like I did I enjoy the when the Bethesda recipe works it works and the Bethesda recipe is massive open World um tons of busy work just going around and [ __ ] um basically just you know choose how you want to play play just the main story get lost in the side content do all this other weird [ __ ] play the game for 60 hours without ever even attempting to [ __ ] start the the main the main campaign of the game all of these things that I said now is true about Starfield the point is that the game from a technical perspective has issues it has uh bugs with you know enemies getting stuck in walls and t-posing and weird [ __ ] happening and stuff not working and uh this weird bugs in the game like every time you change your ship it takes the entire inventory of the ship and dumps it into your [ __ ] uh into your bar your store box on the ship which is this really [ __ ] boring ass [ __ ] thing that you have to deal with every time like if you just change the [ __ ] paint on a ship it moves every single cup and pin and [ __ ] gun and armor piece on your ship into the storage of that ship so every time you change something you need to go and take that [ __ ] out and go [ __ ] sell it it's [ __ ] terrible it's got a bad [ __ ] UI um it's it's like a lot of the times especially if you're trying to do like a lot other stuff like if you're trying to get something from a box then take it to a vendor then go sell it then go from that vendor and buy something and take it back to your ship and then take your ship and go somewhere else and then go buy something that's you're gonna have like death by load screen it's literally load screen's gonna [ __ ] kill you so I don't think it's a stank game I don't think it's close to being a gamer it's just there's nothing this is a Bethesda game dialed up to 11. right that's it it's a Bethesda game that that basically takes everything that we liked about Skyrim and just you know multiplies it by four but is it a game that I already have like 60 70 hours on yes is that a game that I will probably play for another 60 70 maybe even more hours yes because some of the stuff inside the game is compelling and it's fun but that does not necessarily translate into it being a good game I mean I hope you guys understand that Blasphemous too so Blasphemous 2 is a side scroller combat Metro Mania uh kind of like the reason why I made sure to intro to to include this one into the list is because I played this on my steam deck while I was in the hospital with Olivia and my son being born and I really enjoyed it I thought it was I thought it was really good it's not up there with the the likes of um uh Hollow Knight and stuff like that because that's like kind of like the genre of game that it is it's not in my mind it's not that good uh obviously I think Hollow Knight is a [ __ ] sick [ __ ] game it's amazing right um but uh I do I do I do however wanna you know recognize it for what it is and it was just you know I haven't finished it yet obviously but it's like the art style is really awesome it's gory it's [ __ ] awesome the combat's cool I like the weapons all that there's a lot of stuff to do um and in typical metroidvania you know just when you think like you don't know what the [ __ ] you're supposed to do you turn around and you know you go back and you open up a whole new area and there's a new boss and it's just you know good [ __ ] so um unfortunately nothing special but uh I I I can recommend playing it then I'm gonna pick up a little bit of speed here because we're gonna go we're gonna go over a uh a few a few ones here which I don't think much has to be said over a company of Euros three uh sad one for me I'm a huge company of Euros fan especially the original I did not like the second game all that much the third one seemed like it was going to be uh in a weird way like a combination between the first game and the second game uh which seemed like a good idea for me uh it could also be that just maybe this genre is incredibly difficult to innovate right now and um therefore you know like if we're looking at something like the new home world that's coming out for example that it's also possible that that might not be [ __ ] great right uh the issue is that company Bureau does nothing really much new yes it's this open world map now and you have the campaign map or anything like that but even that ends up being like just super frustrating and kind of like busy work so yeah nothing special there Crime Boss Rocket City you know I don't believe in [ __ ] beating beating up on something um just for the sake of it but this was [ __ ] I always knew it was going to be terrible and it was [ __ ] terrible you guys will recall that I actually streamed this uh with the boys from Babylon we played it together I uh did not [ __ ] enjoy this at all it um it's like a like a really bad payday right but obviously then having all of these stars and [ __ ] thrown at it um but yeah just over the top really I yeah anyway enough about that okay so then we have um Phantom Liberty um and this is of course the expansion now something that's funny right is in this list we're going to see a bunch of expansions and uh maybe not that many expansions but we're gonna see a couple of reboots and remix now traditionally those games don't make it into Game of the Year it's just how it is they can be how they can be as [ __ ] good as they want to be they're not going to be like a game of the year and that's just it's just I don't know it just I haven't I don't know can you guys please in chat [ __ ] correct me if I'm wrong but I don't ever recall a remake or an expansion or something like that actually winning like a game of the year or for that very you know matter even being like nominated I could be wrong and it also I suppose the you know depends on what your definition of a remake and an expansion is but yeah I don't think so would be that as it may I think Phantom Liberty is going to be a good is going to be a good experience at least it's shaping up to be that way it's fundamentally changing a lot of the systems inside um cyberpunk and cyberpunk has really been through some form of a [ __ ] Renaissance obviously hold on one second is everything okay okay no sorry I just thought I heard something dropping um so I think it's gonna be a good expansion I think the the things that they are changing are all super super super positive things that are gonna make the experience of playing cyberpunk all that better I like the stuff that's been included I mean we have like dude you have so much new loot and like hundreds of [ __ ] weapons and you know all that [ __ ] being added in um so yeah I just I think uh I think it's gonna be a good experience is it gonna be a uh a game of the year No but then I kind of like I I don't know if it forces this weird like discussion point now where when this comes out if that makes people like re-look at cyberpunk now like as a whole experience and then saying well now that we have the complete picture and stuff has been included then you know maybe it is but again I don't think it ever makes it into a list dude it would be I'd be surprised I'd be surprised if it makes it into like game of the year but I feel I feel weird about putting it into nothing special because I do think however that it's going to be something special so for now I'm gonna park it it's so close but with the caveat that um in this case so close means that it's obviously like gonna be pretty good quality but it's just you know it's kind of like it's not going to be eligible for being Game of the Year Assassin's Creed 2 was game of the year was it uh but in case that's a sequel bro I that that's not what I was talking about so I said expansions right or remix that's not SQL that's because in that way God of War Ragnarok right was a sequel It's a sequel right but it was it was nominated okay another game that I enjoyed the [ __ ] out of on uh on my steam dig dude this thing is just so good dude and and for the same reasons that I don't think this game will ever [ __ ] be it I think it'll be in some people's game of the year uh a list right but it won't actually go up there and you know [ __ ] win something uh I could be wrong but this game was so [ __ ] good man David diver is so addictive so ridiculously fun to play in every [ __ ] moment where you think you've done everything in the game some new Quest arrived something happens to dude the animation is great the music is catchy it's funny the sense of humor in the game is fantastic if you haven't played this [ __ ] if you have a steam deck or if you're looking for something that you can play while you're just having a couple of drinks and you're just [ __ ] chilling out and you don't want any pressure you don't want to be worrying about shooting head shots and [ __ ] doing all this weird [ __ ] everything like that dude Dave the diver get it trust me okay Dead Island two uh man I like Dead Island 2 a lot I I really did I I thought the new Gore system was great um I thought some of it was generally funny some of the characters that you played with were funnier than others Graphics was good initially the gameplay Loop was all right for me as well um but that in the end when as we got closer to the end and the enemies became more bullet spongy and it um just seemed like the last I would say four to maybe six eight hours of the game was just like okay now it's just like more difficult zombies to kill but you kind of have to do the same thing you have to get from A to B and then uh you know craft a new set of weapons and you know [ __ ] just fight that and eventually get guns and you get the special abilities and yeah it's just Game Zone such a [ __ ] rut right now right because it's either all of the all of them every single [ __ ] zombie game right is either a Resident Evil kind of like Survivor [ __ ] kind of thing which these games tend to do better or it ends up being this like free running [ __ ] weird open world [ __ ] those are the two kinds of zombie games we get now and the problem with the free running open world [ __ ] make weird melee weapons and hit stuff [ __ ] zombie games is they've been done to death like they need to [ __ ] reinvent this formula somehow I don't [ __ ] know how though I don't have all the answers but yeah you know all righty so um next up we have dead space and this is of course the Remake it's I think the first one on the list as we're going through this [ __ ] right now uh I thought this was a phenomenal remake right I thought the quality here was was because you get you get let's be honest out there in the world you get remakes and then you get remix right so um I think I I thought that this was good I thoroughly enjoyed streaming it I I played through it [ __ ] twice um I just it had been such a and I think I think when it comes to some remakes right I think time matters I think enough time had passed between us playing a dead space game whether it was one two three or [ __ ] you know any of them right to playing the Remake that we had forgotten enough about the game that there was enough member berries and just fun there for us that it felt almost in a weird way like a new experience and they changed things just enough in the game that generally in some cases you were left with this like was that in the original I can't remember did they change that or is it something new like that to me if if you're asking me like what is what is the definition of a good remake then that would kind of like be you know a good remake so I absolutely yeah I I mean it seems to me like this so close category is becoming games that like are either exempt from being a game of the year because they're a remake or because they're an indie title or because they're not mainstream enough or because they're a [ __ ] expansion pack or something like that but that doesn't diminish from the quality right and if I put Phantom Liberty in here and if I put Dave the dive in here and the reasons that I put it in it only makes sense that I put the space in there as well alrighty uh Destiny 2 lightful [ __ ] mid as [ __ ] nothing special there I mean it's just it's more Destiny right only in my mind like the least compelling story of in the destiny Universe for me yet you know these weird [ __ ] space Surfer neon [ __ ] dude like just nothing of this I liked at all um I didn't like the campaign uh I ended up hanging around for maybe like a month to six weeks after the campaign came out and uh I I did a couple of the you know the the [ __ ] the the loops and everything like that the new stuff that was added in and it was just I mean it's more Destiny so the point is if you are someone that plays Destiny daily which there's tons of people that do that then you'll of course be playing this and buying this and playing it would be a no-brainer right but if you're someone that has never tried Destiny yet and you come to me and you ask me like hey Destiny lightful came out is this a reason for me to start playing Destiny 2 I would have said no because um witch Queen right in my mind would have been a reason to to play Destiny right but um yeah okay Diablo [ __ ] four holy [ __ ] this is gonna be a tough one I dreaded already I don't know if I should get a [ __ ] shot or something like guys by the way uh I do want you to understand that uh I'm not purposefully ignoring um you guys in in chat or anything like that um I'm actually also recording this at the same time because I'm gonna I'm gonna put this as a video on the channel as well so that's why I'm trying to like keep the like the the Banton stuff down uh a little bit uh obviously when once I finish the list and everything like that and actually maybe maybe you know what [ __ ] it let me just actually start incorporating some of this in here because I do want you guys to also feel like you're a part of this so so that being said um Diablo 4 is a tough one for me okay and that's because similarly to what I said about um about Starfield is Diablo is when when it came out it was a ridiculously fun game and I played the absolute [ __ ] out of it all right um and then it kind of just fell off for me to the point now where I find no reason whatsoever to compel myself to you know [ __ ] like you know turn it on and play it and that's despite the fact that I enjoy the characters in the game I enjoy [ __ ] you know like the idea of cool I want to have eventually someday I want to have like a level 100 of each one but I just cannot [ __ ] convince myself to log in and play and maybe that's because there's other games to play right now and maybe if I was starved for options to play other games uh it would be more compelling for me to play [ __ ] Diablo but I also feel severely let down with what we were able to get from the the seasonal model uh couple that with the fact that like there was a whole bunch of like weird missteps with nerfing things and and everything like that and of course the team has taken like huge [ __ ] steps to like you know come on come back to the party and you know and they still there's another patch that came out tonight that that is now increasing you know XP gain from like I think it's eight percent to 25 or something like that on this um seasonal [ __ ] so I don't know they I they obviously noticing a fall off like I think I think I saw yesterday or the day before like twitch has less than like 700 people watching Diablo 4 right now so that's rough as hell like it really is have I sold all of the Diablo slot caps I don't think I've sold any I mean I I sold the one that I bought myself but I think I sold any other ones I'm not sure I need to go look but I'm not sure but um but yeah uh Diablo seasons are [ __ ] drag I don't know what they're gonna do to change that season two is coming out in October so let's let's give it a look but this is gonna in terms of like the the rating for me um I definitely think that this is tough man because I feel like putting it into nothing special would be I mean for something that I've spent hundreds of hours playing it I would just feel like a [ __ ] misjustice right uh fener you bought a Diablo slot hat that's why you're a [ __ ] G right there okay so um hmm I'm gonna for now right I'm gonna I'm gonna put Diablo into into nothing's no you know what I'm gonna put Diablo 4 into so close and I'll explain to you why I'm putting into so close I think that Diablo 4 is is a game that has a huge amount of potential and a lot of that potential was squandered by either weird decisions where things were were [ __ ] um were nerfed or changed or or brought down to try and curb players you know having too much power or leveling too fast or something like that and then couple that with the fact that this seasonal model and everything like that just cannot come out of the [ __ ] Gates it just does not feel [ __ ] strong so huge amount of missed potential and that to me I suppose then also exactly qualifies it as a so close game okay dredge dredge is an indie game uh you're basically a fisherman that uh in a way it's like a roguelite you you sell out every every day you go catch some fish you bring the fish back to the [ __ ] town you sell the fish you use that fish to up sorry that money that you get from selling the fish to upgrade your boat so that you can catch bigger fish and that you can sail faster and then somewhere along the line you uh suddenly realize that you are in this cthulhu-esque [ __ ] you know Twilight Zone where big octopus monsters and [ __ ] you know look Beneath The Depths and uh it's uh dude it's a good game if if you if anything that I say to you now sounds compelling in in any way I absolutely advise you to pick this up my only issue with dredge is it's it's a there's a weird thing with uh how this game is priced in certain countries it's priced like ridiculous like I know in South Africa for instance where my store is on one of my steam accounts it's got like the same price as like a Call of Duty title almost so it's like Triple A price like to [ __ ] death which is weird I'm not saying that it's not worth that money well actually I am saying it's not it's not worth that money it really isn't but um as a as an indie game with a really good [ __ ] story and a compelling gameplay Loop it is phenomenal so if you could pick it up for a little bit less so if you're in one of those countries where you're not affected by this weird [ __ ] price boosting that's happening in the steam store then you don't get it but um I definitely think this is um this is just a phenomenal [ __ ] experience uh if you can get past all of that [ __ ] okay everspace two ever space two is a space simulator um but then in everspace 2 it has new aspects to it where essentially you can become like a Trader but you're basically playing this you know story you're trying to figure out you know why you um why you should uh you know you know why you are where you are it's kind of like a fish out of not a fish out of water but a like almost like a what's the word looking like a Jason bonus kind of thing like you don't know why you are where you are and you're trying to figure that out and you're building up Allies along the way and you're buying new ships and everything and the control is [ __ ] fantastic and the combat's really cool and everything and it's a lot of fun um just I would say the one thing is it's probably like I don't know like five to [ __ ] eight hours too long uh which is a again I sometimes feel bad about having that as a critique for a game because if the game is that much fun then you know what's the [ __ ] problem of course just [ __ ] play the [ __ ] out of it so um for me again I I struggle to to stick this between nothing special and so close because I also feel like as a game as a game type right you don't have a lot of games that are like everspace too and it did a lot of good things with what it was able to do and so I kind of want uh for the same reason that I would put something like dredge in here I would put everspace too as well a new Capcom cap cop Jesus Capcom game that came out this year essentially what it is is it's um you in a like big [ __ ] mechs uh fighting against dinosaurs that come through a portal it's very much a game that's way more about the multiplayer aspect of it than it is about the single player it does have a campaign of sorts and it does have a story as much as any [ __ ] cap cop Jesus Capcom game has a story which means like it's [ __ ] ridiculous but um the I would say for me the big the big letdown of EXO Primal was the fact that it felt like this game that was just always trying to shoehorn you into playing with randoms and um some people have a lot of fun with that and some people want to rather you know go off and do their own thing um the thing with EXO Primal that concerns me is because it has this model where you have this you know having to play co-op with other people and it's the servers that are hosted and you do these you know different missions and events and stuff like that and they've been doing a lot of stuff since is he talking is he eating okay I love you and um it's it's like um they they've done a lot with the game since it came out like they've there's been updates and stuff like that and certainly some of the people in in the Stream here right now I know have been avidly playing it but I don't think it's a my concern with a game like that is once the player base drops below a certain threshold do they just take the servers like offline um you know what the [ __ ] are they doing so I I I kind of think it has a little bit of Jank to it as well um and I I think it's going to be one of those games that if you like it then you're really gonna like it but if you don't or if you find some kind of criticism with it it's going to be very hard to get into and that's that's in my opinion the perfect you know definition of a game that's got nothing special going for four spoken I'm gonna go ahead and put that in stank and I'll I'm gonna make it short and concise and I'll tell you why first of all super super [ __ ] boring World um which is just it's like everything that you hate in a [ __ ] Ubisoft game they just basically copied that a hundred percent so Towers to climb to unlock [ __ ] chest to [ __ ] open and all of this [ __ ] is tied into this [ __ ] up Loop where you you know you you have to inch your power up so you find one box and it gives you like one percent more [ __ ] blood damage and then you find another one and it gives you like one percent health regen and it's just it's in my opinion the most [ __ ] boring way of allowing you to progress your character in a game um then not a great [ __ ] protagonist uh [ __ ] terrible writing the [ __ ] uh back would be streamed this game uh of course we were making fun of like the feedback between you and the [ __ ] Gauntlet and yeah it's just dude like this thing if I if I remember correctly this started as like some other weird [ __ ] Tech demo for the PS5 supposed to show off the ps5's [ __ ] raw power and then they made all [ __ ] game out of it and then sometimes I think it probably should have just uh it should have just stayed as a tech demo and maybe it would have been you know like more okay Hi-Fi rush now this is a game that like dude you have to understand they do they don't do [ __ ] like this Hi-Fi Rush was was a game that completely blindsided a lot of people and basically the minute that they announced that they also released it it was like a shadow drop and um it's essentially like a beat em up Rhythm yeah Rhythm based beat em up is the right way to put it and it's got this really vibrant cartoony kind of like environment great [ __ ] music choice in the game um the combat's like super rewarding um it's kind of [ __ ] tough which is good in games like this where it's like get good and play it better and that sort of thing and it's just there's just there's just a lot of things to like about Hi-Fi rush and very little to not like in fact what you might end up doing is walking away from Hi-Fi Rush thinking like you wish there was more of it I loved the writing the boss fights were [ __ ] good and uh I you you'll realize that I'm not saying a lot about the rhythm-based part of it but that is such a huge part of this game uh the fact that your attacks can match the beat and everything like that but then also in the game when you go up against the boss the boss [ __ ] talks on the beat and everything and each boss has its own unique you know song that goes with the dude it's just it's a good game and the fact of the matter that you can pick this game up for like half the price of a normal [ __ ] you know double A or Triple A title or something like that it's probably the other reason why it's so for good plus it's on Game Pass if I'm not mistaken it's pretty much [ __ ] free it's just so good so good okay so um Hogwarts Legacy now Hogwarts Legacy is a funny one again because certainly there's a lot of want for a Harry Potter game and I think it's a very difficult franchise to do right in a way that people who are fans of the franchise will enjoy the game that they're getting that being said they could have gone two ways with this right they could have had a [ __ ] Harry Potter game where you actually play through the movies and you play as maybe like a side character but Harry Potter is running around and all that stuff and everything and there are a bunch of Harry Potter games like that by the way but this is a this is certainly something that they could have done because you just you tap into that whole Market of like people like oh my God this [ __ ] Hermione Granger and you know all this [ __ ] and you can like [ __ ] see this right but luckily they ended up with this game not doing that right so they ended up crafting a game that exists within this universe but has its own story uh and a fairly decent one of that to be to be honest and uh just does a whole bunch of its own world building using the familiar things that we know from the books and we know from the movies but giving you an opportunity to essentially create your own your own part in it then unfortunately after those first you know let's say eight to ten hours way off you realize oh [ __ ] this is a Ubisoft game uh meaning like there's Towers I need to travel to and should I need to cover and then I need to pick up Scrolls and I need to do the stuff and yes you don't actually have to do any of those things that's that's something that I have to also mention uh nobody's putting a gun against your head going you better go pick up these [ __ ] 10 Scrolls and climb on those two towers and all that [ __ ] they're not but the point is if you don't do any of the side activities in games like this you end up realizing that it's a game that's like like gets mentioned that it's a 60 70 80 hour game but if you don't do any of the [ __ ] you have like an eight hour or 12 hour experience on your hands which it honestly though probably is the superior way to play the game to be fair I I ended up out of out of all of the zones in in Hogwarts I ended up finishing I think three of the zones and then as I did the third Zone I was like what the [ __ ] are you doing this is the [ __ ] that you hate stop doing this you don't want to fly from Tower to Tower and [ __ ] do this [ __ ] play the and and by the time you do the seventh or the eighth area you're gonna be so pissed off at this experience that you're gonna end up like not finishing the story of The Game Stop it play be the [ __ ] story of the game and then after you finish the story of the game see if you feel like collecting balloons and [ __ ] around and all of that and lo and behold as I suspected after I finish the story of the game I was like nope I'm [ __ ] done thank you very much uh so long and you know thanks to the fish so in that case do I think this game is a potential uh goat yes but do I also think that it just barely misses the status yes so for now and I might change my opinion as we get through this list but for now for me this is so close this is a so close but I do know that a lot of people think that this game is like the highlight of the year and I'd be very [ __ ] surprised if this doesn't make it into some lists at the very least dude this has a lot of potential for even just like guys like the the [ __ ] music the score of this game is insane it is so faithful to the source material and so [ __ ] good that even Alex I'm not a [ __ ] fan of it but like you know greatness recognizes greatness you know and even on the merits of that it can get like sound design it can get nominated for that right but that's not game of the year okay I need to speed up my drinks getting empty all right so Immortals of have you [ __ ] nothing special this is like a like a [ __ ] almost like a VR based uh or at least VR looking first person shooter magic them up um kind of game um it's it's a new IP I think the idea is that they want to start an entire brand new franchise off the back of this [ __ ] I don't think that's gonna happen I don't think it's done very well and I just I didn't I played it like maybe maybe three hours of it did not enjoy it at all and uh yeah I just didn't find it interesting anything like that it's just it's like the problem with shooters or games like this these days is that if it's a brand new IP the amount of [ __ ] legwork that a game like this has to do to lift itself in terms of like the storytelling has to be fantastic the the the characters have to be interesting the [ __ ] the voice over acting and the humor has to land they do there's so many hurdles here for a game to [ __ ] fail here because it doesn't work off an established franchise or something you'd be like oh there's my favorite character or something like this is brand new [ __ ] and um that that makes it inherently hard for games like this to to find a foothold and to make it and uh it can't be done I'm not saying it's an impossible feat but unfortunately Immortals did not do it lies of p is not out yet it is out soon though uh this is essentially a from software-esque game where you play the role of Pinocchio and you are basically going up uh oh I don't know if you play the role of Pinocchio but it's in the realm of Pinocchio and Geppetto and so a lot of the enemies that you fight in the game is you know like this kind of like clockwork [ __ ] puppet-controlled kind of [ __ ] but it's kind of like a weird [ __ ] Through the Looking Glass nightmares take on this universe right so jupitas like evil as [ __ ] and uh Pinocchio and whatever like I um I've played this at several sort of iterations of it most recently there was a demo that um is actually available still on Steam right now if I'm not mistaken that you can try my biggest concern with games like this all right is that the control needs to be tight as [ __ ] or it needs to be the Jank needs to be in such a way that it almost adds to the identity of the game and what I mean by this is like if you look at a game like Alden ring right arguably Alden Rings combat is janky as [ __ ] right where it's bad things can you know like you can't always predict the way that the combat's gonna go because weird things can happen and you can get stuck in geometry and swings can you know whatever but there's a certain endearing factor to the from software recipe with those games that in a way even though there's Jank there it's loved Jank it's much loved it's much praised Jack Now lies of p is not gonna have that and this is going to be another game later on in this list that'll have exactly it's in fact it's the very next one it's going to have exactly the same problem and that is that if the control ends up being jankier than a from software game then like Alden ring or [ __ ] you know Dark Souls or something like that then it's just automatically gonna lose a whole bunch of points for that do I think lies of p is gonna be a potential goat no do I think it's gonna be uh so close uh no I don't either actually I think it's gonna be a perfectly serviceable Souls like game uh with probably some memorable boss encounters and everything like that but in the end I don't think it's gonna do anything to elevate that formula and put it above like the rest okay Lords of the Fallen is next now a lot of the things that I said about lies of PE also matter for Lords of the Fallen the only difference between these two is Lords of the Fallen has a super super awesome gimmick in it from a gameplay perspective that might end up being like a sleeper hit and that is that essentially the game you are those of you that know the the legacy of Kane games will know that you have like the normal realm and you have like the shadow realm and uh the big deal with the legacy of Kane games was moving in between these Realms because in on on the one round there could be like an object that you need in the other one or in the Run realm there's a door you can go through where that door is closed and the other element so you would constantly be switching between the Realms to move around and to solve puzzles and everything and it's one of the reasons why that [ __ ] franchise while that game was so [ __ ] great so Lords of the Fallen has that as well it is a from software kind of game it is it is uh you know like that you like you run around with a sword in The Shield or whatever the [ __ ] doing some magic you fight big bosses uh it's a roguelite you can get one tap by Bosses anything it's super hard everything and then it has this additional two-round mechanic on it and that's why I'm saying like even though the combat could be hyper janky in Lords of the fallen and it kind of it kind of is uh this mechanic this switching between the Realms or anything like that might hit just the right Nostalgia factor for people like me that have been hanging around like a [ __ ] waiting for a uh Soul Reaver [ __ ] remake or some [ __ ] you know you know just please Jesus bring the franchise back in some way and this might just scratch that itch um do I think it's gonna be a game of the year or something like that no unfortunately not again I think it's really perfectly serviceable roguelite um but this additional Factor here might just make it kind of you know cute meet your maker is a game where on the surface it seems like a insanely good idea what it is is you build um a base and you can put traps inside this base and then you try to and then you put your base on the internet and then other people try to invade your base and if your traps are successful in killing them then you get upgrade materials which allows you to buy better stuff for your base and level up your character and vice versa you will then try to infiltrate other players could create the bases and if you're successful in doing that you will also score more gear and everything and if you die then obviously they get you know XP now the issue that I have with with meteor maker is on paper this is a fantastic sounding idea and the very first couple of days of this work perfectly until players realized that there was a very specific formula to building how you could build a base which would make it I wouldn't say nearly impossible but which which would make it like ridiculously difficult to actually get into it right and um and once that happened literally every single [ __ ] base that you would try to invade would be both to the style and that was super it was almost like a [ __ ] meta had formed around it of course a method from the round I mean Jesus it's 2023 so it wasn't great but uh as a concept I think it's pretty good I um I it's I mean it hasn't really been done to this level yet and and I think I think there's a lot of I think there's a lot of like I feel like I feel like meteor maker is the kind of game that because it exists now somebody else is gonna look all right at it and then make like and I don't mean this as a [ __ ] insult to the game but it's gonna make a better version of it that does it what it's supposed to do better so yeah unfortunately I gotta I gotta keep it real all right then um we have my asthma Chronicles um asthma Chronicles something that I actually even streamed uh one night on uh on stream here it's basically it's it's like a weird take on an x-com game um uh in terms of like the way that the combat works but it's incredibly story driven and um this studio is has made like a couple of these you know games in this universe so it's um or or rather let me let me rephrase that the studio has made a couple of games with this recipe but each one in its own Universe I think this is was a decently fun ish game but again that really didn't do anything to you know uh add anything to this you know the type of game or to this kind of experience so yeah Mortal Kombat one so Mortal Kombat 1 uh as the name implies is a pretty much a remake A a restart for the Mortal Kombat franchise which last time I checked what was the highest Mortal Kombat game like [ __ ] 14 or 12 or I don't know [ __ ] I know I know for a fact 10 was there but I'm sure I'm sure there was higher than that uh the point is this is a reimagining of the story so a lot of the stuff is changing like for instance you know Raiden is a [ __ ] farmer in this and he's not a Thunder God or at least he's not a Thunder God yet um pretty much the entire experience is is narratively driven from the perspective of Louis Kang and it is another Realms um Mortal Kombat of course uh shabby thank you so much so 11 is the one then yes I was off by like a couple but um it is another Realms driven Mortal Kombat which means that you're gonna get this incredibly tight [ __ ] you know fighting game and um I'm excited to have it reboot the franchise and for us to be able to get to know these characters kind of like from scratch the graphic Fidelity is through the [ __ ] roof some of the fatalities that they've shown have been ridiculous and over the top of course and then also I will just say this near the Realms the way that they do uh single player campaigns in a fighting game is unparalleled it's I'm a huge fan and I think it's going to be a lot of fun I I don't I don't recall this is again I'm looking to my audience to help me out here I don't recall a fighting game ever being in a game of the year um list I don't think so I don't think so but um but I mean it would have to be in my opinion it would probably be so close uh there's a there's tons of fighting games to play but the pedigree that you get from something like this so from Tekken or Street Fighter is you know obviously a parent and on and on the face so so I think it's gonna be I think it's going to be a good experience but again I don't I don't recall again off the top of my head and people are surely you know to correct me if that's if that's not the case I don't think these games have ever been in a game of the year list Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. hmm I think it's gonna be nothing special now I will I will mention this right I enjoy I'm the kind of person that enjoys the Call of Duty campaigns I finished the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 campaign on [ __ ] stream I [ __ ] enjoyed it I like the characters it's over the top it's like playing a Jerry Bruckheimer um you know [ __ ] action movie with explosions and [ __ ] action dialed up to you know 69 and it's a lot of fun but that's of course one side of the game right then there's the war zone aspect and most recently in Modern Warfare 2 we had DMZ which is something that I thoroughly [ __ ] enjoyed and still do to a degree and um and yeah then you know the this this Modern Warfare 3 will have a zombies [ __ ] mode again of course this multiplayer this there's a ton of different ways that you can play this [ __ ] game do I however think that it innovates it in any way no I don't I think I think Modern Warfare 3 is gonna end up being like the the safest Modern Warfare in a while and that's because Modern Warfare 2 had an insane amount of criticism for changing too many things and wanting to mainstreamerize the franchise too much um famously Dave essentially almost walked back every single thing that made war zone 2 unique from war zone one and so the problem with that is that you can clearly see that they tried a couple of different things they tried to innovate they got massive pushback from the community who essentially uh pretty much I think the average Call of Duty player wants exactly the same [ __ ] game with updated Graphics every year and then they're happy um so in that way that is why I feel comfortable saying that Modern Warfare 3 is going to be nothing special if you are the kind of person that plays Call of Duty and I am by the way I'll be picking this up I'll be playing it but I'm not gonna sit back going like wow dude this this really [ __ ] changed the script on me like this is a completely new experience okay so payday three uh I don't is this out yet I mean it's gonna be out like in the next couple of days or something like that if I'm not mistaken I think it comes out next week or something but either Which Way payday 3 is a heist based game it's it's uh it's the game that I compared the [ __ ] Crime Boss Rocky City just now uh as far as I'm aware Payday 2 still to this day remains to be a [ __ ] or remains to be a ridiculously played game that a lot of people are very fond of and everything and I think it's one of these games that like if you have a core group of people to play with uh there's a lot of fun to be mined from this experience um but it can also be something that if you I I feel like the payday games are like uh a kind of game that oftentimes when we play games it's like there's no wrong way to play this game right and then you realize that yes there are some games which are like there is like a wrong way to play it and payday is one of those games like you there's a very specific way that you should be playing a game like payday if you want to actually have a decent experience if you deviate from this in and and you try to go you know too much against the grain of what the game is trying to do for you or want you to do then it ends up being like a very bad experience for you and I generally don't like games like that and it's for that reason that I don't you don't really think it's [ __ ] awesome um that being said um I think this game because they sell a lot of like [ __ ] in in in in-game you know purchases and stuff like that with this not DLC but like you know [ __ ] apps app [ __ ] um it'll probably do very well financially I can imagine I don't know I like like they they definitely be losing out on like if there's not a way to transfer like all your Payday Two [ __ ] into payday 3. I don't even know if that's like a [ __ ] thing but yeah so I don't know but uh I think it's gonna be just more [ __ ] payday so you know if you like payday Hee Haw here's the three behind uh instead of a two 6.4 uh this is niche as [ __ ] I um I I don't know like I have a bunch of people in China right now I would be willing to bet that less than [ __ ] two of you have played any Pikmin in your life and I'm willing to take that bit and if I'm wrong I'll drink a Jagermeister but if more than two of you can tell me that you've played any [ __ ] Pikmin game in your life I'll drink a shot of Jagermeister that being said uh Pikmin 4 is a uh I think it's a long awaited Sequel and again it's gonna be like if you're a fan of this franchise if you if if you're into this [ __ ] um then um then this will be like an auto pickup for you but um if you aren't someone who knows what Pikmin is there's no compelling reason for you to actually pick up Pikmin and for that reason I have to put it in the same list as the nothing specials here because surely the idea of a game is for you to want to play it and there's nothing never mind the fact that it's only on Nintendo of course but it is nothing compelling telling you as a player to like oh my god dude go get [ __ ] Pikmin so if you already enjoyed this franchise you'll probably pick it up otherwise you'd be like nope I'd rather get something else all right redfall stack again I don't like beating on uh on a dead [ __ ] horse so I'm not gonna do that uh redfall uh from the [ __ ] beginning had me concerned and as we got closer and closer and closer to it coming out uh those concerns just more and more uh started sort of like um you know paying for themselves and that's this game is um is is pretty much again it's this recipe of like a lot of busy work and [ __ ] that you have to do um super Jank [ __ ] combat uh weird you know some characters are like [ __ ] super powerful and and and and there's no reason not to play them and then someone the characters are like stupid as [ __ ] um just the combat is [ __ ] terrible it's it's just a bad [ __ ] experience bugs Galore just everything like if you if you were to make a [ __ ] bingo card with everything that can be wrong with a triple A release that that comes out that could go wrong and that could cause the game to lose points then this thing hits everything on the way down uh easy peasy lemon squeezy all right uh dude I'm actually starting to get like a horse voice here uh so I didn't think there's gonna be this much talking God damn it um full 100 disagrees with me on grateful Phil probably disagrees with me on a bunch of stuff so let's just get that out there uh Remnant two I I can't tell you guys how how much I want Remnant 2 2B game of the year I definitely think it's a con it's it's a potential choice for game of the year um the game is just it's a perfect sequel and what I mean by perfect SQL is it takes every single thing that you like from the original game and it gives you more of it and it improves on the systems that was in the previous game and basically everything that you liked it just dials up to 11. I um I'm excited that we're getting like three more [ __ ] DLCs for this game I don't know when those will drop I think we'll get like one a quarter or one every two quarters maybe if if we follow Raymond From the Ashes is uh reveal but unfortunately um I think Raymond 2 its biggest issue is it's catching a lot of like um how can I say low-hanging fruit of players who were burnt by the experience of something like outriders um it is a it's a looter shooter sure but the issue is that it's it's also a roguelite right and so it it ends up straddling this experience between being like a [ __ ] Dark Souls game with guns and then being like a game like outriders and then I use odd Riders a lot because the point is it's amazing to me how many people I run into that I either ask me hey I see you playing a lot of Raymond too is it like outriders but better or they actually start playing Roman 2 and then they inevitably compare it to um two [ __ ] outriders right so they'll be like yeah I'm trying to do this because I could do this in arthritis or I'm trying to do that and and so on um and I think that's actually something that probably does not count in its favor because it's absolutely not the game that it should be compared to and I feel like a like people that are coming into Remnant 2 looking for an outriders like experience will then enable it will be be turned away because it's obviously a way [ __ ] harder game than than um outriders ever was so that being said I I to me to me I I think that uh it's probably one of the best games I've played in a super super long time and that it doesn't matter which side you approach it from if you like difficult games that's a good game if you like games that have like [ __ ] awesome boss mechanics and [ __ ] you know cool systems that you have to learn and everything like that so good so absolutely potential goat uh Resident Evil 4 is a remake and um a fantastic one at that I think it stands right next to dead space in terms of like the quality so if their space makes it into this list here for the same reasons we should allow Resident Evil 4 into it as well uh Resident Evil 4 uh changes enough about the original game that it feels like a breath of fresh air and it's just it's just a really good experience I I find myself incapable of saying anything really [ __ ] bad about Resident Evil 4 um and that's it I mean it's even got the [ __ ] time trial mode [ __ ] and mercenaries everything like that so it's just good stuff okay sea of stars is a RPG like a very much old school in the vein of something like the old Final Fantasy game so turn based combat the you know the Sprite based [ __ ] graphics and everything like that uh this game is a absolute [ __ ] Powerhouse in terms of like fantastic RPG systems and really really compelling combat everything like that and just overall a fantastic experience if you enjoy games like that right but it's kind of like retro in a way I cannot recommend this enough uh it works obviously on on like a portable and everything like that and it's just it's a it's it's a lot of fun one it's a game that will [ __ ] eat up uh hours out of your [ __ ] day without you even giving it permission to do so and yeah it's just it's just a really good experience but you know it's one of those that Demands a certain amount of time for you so you got to do that now um I don't think this is gonna I don't think this is gonna win any [ __ ] game of the year or anything like that but but surely there's an argument that it should be on some [ __ ] list somewhere it's really good Spider-Man 2 Spider-Man 2 is now shaping up to be some kind of like weird [ __ ] Hail Mary saving thing for PlayStation which I don't really think PlayStation needs that it's not like the system's like not selling or it's [ __ ] you know going down like oh my God Starfield came out oh [ __ ] Sony's in trouble it's that's nothing like that but a lot of people are basically saying you know like Spider-Man 2 needs to come in and you know show everybody what's up and uh you know change the change description I have a I have a dude a slightly contrarian I guess [ __ ] opinion to this but and this is based off of the trailers and everything that I see now bear in mind Spider-Man is one of my favorite [ __ ] like like Marvel [ __ ] characters I enjoy the Spider-Man's the pantheon of villains that this you know that character has has some very interesting villains to play you know fight against and this game is gonna have Craven which we haven't seen in a lot of games but it'll also have venom which is obviously a fan favorite and people want to see that [ __ ] um and probably like a whole bunch of other ones that we don't know about yet lizards in as well and things like that unless it's always a fun time right I um and and then it's it'll have this mechanic of you being able to play switch between playing Peter or miles and we don't know how that's going to affect the story and inevitably what you have to choose between one of the two or will it affect the ending somehow we don't [ __ ] know the game's not out yet so it's difficult to say that being said there's a lot of the systems in this game that will most likely make a reappearance in the sequel and so a lot of systems in the first one that will most likely make a reappearance in the sequel and that might end up being a case of that everything that was so awesome and new and fresh and [ __ ] insane about Spider-Man the first one that came out is not gonna feel it's not gonna land as [ __ ] hard in the sequel so it's entirely up to the studio and this is in the most you know how can I say this is in the best hands to allow for a winning [ __ ] experience here but um there's gonna be a lot of things that need to potentially you know be spiced up be changed anything like that to just for me for me to elevate this above me just saying well it kind of feels like an expansion pack to the first game again super [ __ ] crazy [ __ ] for me to say without having even attached a controller with this game so so be that as it may I'm not gonna [ __ ] dig a grave for myself any further because I could very well be [ __ ] 100 wrong about this but I don't think that we live in a world where this doesn't get considered for game of the year because it's probably gonna have a really good [ __ ] story uh it's probably gonna run like a [ __ ] monster on the PS5 because this is this is this is next gen only so this is as far as I know uh again I could be wrong but this is this is PS5 only so they don't have to worry about [ __ ] backwards compatibility and all this [ __ ] junk and so they're gonna be able to go ape [ __ ] uh um on what this game can bring to the party and it's probably gonna be pretty [ __ ] sick Jedi Survivor is of course the sequel to Jedi Outcast and um I think it was really [ __ ] good I think this is a like dude there's nothing wrong with a fantastic [ __ ] Jedi game with lightsabers and [ __ ] like that the stuff is [ __ ] it's yummy yummy yummy yummy and I always have time for it that being said this soft basically pretty much a lot of the stuff that I said about Spider-Man now for me here uh I felt like Jedi [ __ ] like Survivor had a decent story up until the point where it became slightly [ __ ] predictable uh because you kind of like knew oh okay I guess I see where this is going and um it it I mean it's got Stellar [ __ ] voice work it's it's got the IP down path you know the lightsaber combat's great the [ __ ] music the score was great the voiceover acting is great the the the main the the protagonist you play is [ __ ] fantastic um my main issue with it is that it just felt like eventually it just felt like more of the same right um I don't think there was enough for it to make it different from Outcast for one of the things for instance which was weird for me with Survivor was um I wasn't excited by the skill tree at all so you had your different styles that you could play and yes there were way more options for Styles than it was in the first game but um there wasn't really I like some of these things was like okay cool now if you if you block and Parry something you get an extra hit in or another one wasn't okay now you just you know instead of force pushing one enemy you force push two enemies and it just it just felt like like not exciting you know it just didn't it just didn't feel to me like it was like oh my God moment you know what I mean something like that so anyway um I I have a really hard time putting it into nothing special though because it is it is a good game and I'm I'm looking at the other things which I have in so close now and I'm sorry but if I put something like everspace [ __ ] two in so close I do however have to put Jedi Survivor in there I'll say this that there's a lot in this game that works really well the open world bosses you know that you can find that you don't have to defeat but you you know you can get extra you know gear and stuff like that um I think that I think that there's there's ways in which you can turn a Jedi Survivor game into like a game of the year I think there's things that you can do it's just those things were not done okay Street Fighter six um I arguably you know uh have not played nearly enough of it to to form I would say a very strong opinion about it I I do however I will tell you for me personally I prefer the Mortal Kombat universe to the street fighter Universe even though obviously I know Street Fighter better because I played it as a fighting game long before I played Mortal Kombat um I just prefer I just prefer Mortal Kombat I just prefer my [ __ ] a little bit more wacky and Out of This World um and Street Fighter 6 went a weird way they have this career mode now we essentially run around the [ __ ] map and everything like that it's got a very awesome um art style and everything like that I think it's a very [ __ ] good looking game and I do also think that Street Fighter 6 has taken massive steps to kind of like almost in a way um sort of like tweak their fighting their fighting system uh they've they've they've tried to innovate us in a way and it's it's it's it's you can clearly see it so so I I do have to I have to give it its flowers I do have to put it into yeah I think uh I think if I if I like Mortal Kombat 1 in the so close category I also feel like I I need to do Street Fighter Justice and you know also put it in it System Shock is a remake um it's I forget the Studio's name now and I feel terrible for doing it because the studio is [ __ ] phenomenal at uh making remix but um I think it's it's look if if you can get over the fact that it is an extremely [ __ ] old game and so no matter how much you remake this it is still gonna have the same it's gonna have that feeling of a ridiculously old game uh if you can get past that System Shock is uh the precursor to if it wasn't for System Shock we wouldn't have things like Bioshock um or Deus Ex or anything and in that sort of field and System Shock paved the way for games like that and so therefore I feel like this is a very very strong [ __ ] homage uh to that original experience even though it's it's it's it's tailored uh to be a lot more palatable because of course it's such an old [ __ ] game so be that as it may I think I've played it about halfway and then I was just I was just surrounded by other games and new games to play so I feel [ __ ] terrible I have to come back and play it some more but um I think it's a good game Invincible I have it in here because it's a game that I played the demo of it's actually coming out I think it's coming out in November or it might be December or something of this year it's a heavily narrative driven Story game about you essentially playing this uh protagonist night dive Studios thank you very much that's what I was looking for fantastic [ __ ] Studio that really really you know they go out of their way to do uh these projects where they basically remake or or work with old assets they do it so well so I I gotta give them their props um Invincible getting back to that it is a narrative driven story experience of you playing this um astronaut that is trying to sort of figure out what happened to an expedition and why everybody died and all of this stuff and you kind of like go through uh the graphics of [ __ ] insane it is a ridiculously good looking game and it's like you you you are like almost like a like uh investigator and you're putting the puzzle pieces together you're using weird like technology to scan and then figure out okay who touched here and then you reverse time and did all this stuff it's it's a completely different kind of game it's not action over the top kind of [ __ ] it's very much about like slow drip feeding like the dread and the the story into you I [ __ ] loved the demo I'm really looking forward to playing this and I actually want to play this on stream from beginning to end because I think it'll be a cool experience but yeah I think that's that's going to be pretty cool now uh games like these generally I don't see them going on to becoming like a nomination for game of the year because the the again like what they tend to compete against them because this kind of game is very Niche it's not something that everybody will play it's essentially an adventure game um but that doesn't change the fact that you have some serious quality there okay [ __ ] Zelda I don't I really like I mean guys what do you want me to say about [ __ ] Zelda like dude Zelda is it's it's Zelda okay um it takes everything from the the the the the how can I say the the previous game to this and just improves upon it uh simple things like with the previous game you had these vast Open Spaces that um you kind of like felt like there was nothing going on and you didn't understand why um you had to have all this like spaces you know that just seems to be a terrible waste of space uh this game has a ton more of you know activities and [ __ ] monsters running around and stuff you can do inside content it's an open world game in the way of Zelda which means you pretty much get given um the keys and said you know go out go [ __ ] have fun and with the with the the the changes in this game now with how you can it's almost like in a weird way Zelda Lego how you can build all these weird [ __ ] tools and everything I think it was a couple of days and then we ended up seeing like [ __ ] monsters with giant penises that would shoot out of the tip of the penis and like just crazy [ __ ] like that of course you know that's what would happen but um it's just this playground that the game essentially creates for you and it's [ __ ] insane so if you're a Zelda fan that's Auto auto include but um often these terms like system seller gets thrown around this game is a system seller this game is a reason to buy a Nintendo product straight up and there's not a lot of games that you can say that for a lot of games get called system sellers but they aren't really this [ __ ] for [ __ ] sure 100 is and uh if anything at least for that it should be nominated if you find there's an indie game that came out a couple of weeks ago basically what it is is it's a this uh sort of like a weird take of like you have puzzles that you have to solve but you can use your camera to take pictures of objects in the game and then use those pictures in a 3D way to essentially solve the puzzles what I mean by this is let's say for example you're standing and you're looking across a [ __ ] Chasm at the the other side and there's this big open area that you are that you can't cross and you're gonna fall into so you can then with your camera look around you see okay here's a [ __ ] ladder standing against the wall on the other side you take a picture of that ladder and then you can take the picture and you can position it and change it in such a way and then the ladder becomes an actual ladder that you can cross the chest so so that's basically it so it's a puzzle solver with very very innovative ideas when it comes to like you know just using the scenery and you know being observant for everything and then finding out weird ways to take pictures of it and use it and it's done very well if you're the kind of person that likes this puzzle [ __ ] in in a past life I enjoyed games like this I [ __ ] do not anymore but um dude this game is a force of uh [ __ ] nature [Music] Warhammer Universe it is a old school [ __ ] Duke Nukem doom-esque [ __ ] shooter where you essentially it's hyper gorish it's like [ __ ] Brit [ __ ] art it's um it's got a great soundtrack it's just balls to the wall [ __ ] shooting and cutting stuff with the [ __ ] chain sword everything like that it's I think it's once again it's unfortunately niche in a way a lot of people will look at something like doesn't go Jesus Christ why the [ __ ] would I pay 30 bucks for a game that looks like it was made in [ __ ] you know in 1996 um and to those people I say what the [ __ ] wrong with you um this game is a lot of fun uh especially more so even on like a handheld or something like that if you can play this [ __ ] on Steam deck you're gonna have a good old time but yeah it's uh personally I believe that the world cannot have enough Warhammer games so you you bring me a Warhammer game and if it's half [ __ ] decent I'm gonna sing its Praises but this [ __ ] is actually pretty damn sweet so um um I will unfortunately put it under nothing special because the point is the point is this for what it's trying to do and that is be a retro experience with [ __ ] over the top [ __ ] electrical guitar music while you cut stuff with a chainsaw and shoot go monsters and go explode and everything like that this has that but it's not doing anything like it's not risking anything it's not taking any weird [ __ ] chances it's just it's taking that recipe and going like we're dipping this deep into the [ __ ] Warhammer the universe and let's [ __ ] go so yeah I have to put it into the nothing special category but there's a couple of things like armored Core and there's nothing special category as well which is a game that I thoroughly [ __ ] enjoy but yeah it's just nothing special okay we've got three more to go guys the end is [ __ ] inside we have wild Hearts which is um it's like a weird uh guys help me out what is the Monster Hunter it's exactly sorry uh false alarm you don't have to help me out I got it so so uh this is a in a weird way like a take on the monster hunter franchise or the recipe if I can put it that way um it has some really ridiculous like over-the-top big [ __ ] bosses and stuff that you fight the control in this game is ass water I did not enjoy it I know that there are some people that fiercely defend this and think it's like really cool [ __ ] I [ __ ] do not and I feel like if you want to you know like the worst thing about like if you're gonna come for the king better not miss right so the worst thing about making a game that is supposed to steal some of the shine of a specific franchise so you look at something like Monster Hunter and you're like hmm we can do that better and then you do that and you don't really do it better and in a way you just end up proving that the original is better than your game I feel like that's probably not [ __ ] great now is this a stank game no I think that it has some redeeming qualities to it and it's a perfectly serviceable Monster hunter-esque game but if you have to choose if you're standing at a [ __ ] shop and in the left hand you have Monster Hunter and in your right hand you have wild thoughts and you haven't played either one of the two and you're looking for the superior experience you're picking up on Santa so yeah Dynasty is um is like a dude it's it's a game that has some DNA in the from software like Souls you know um you know kind of genre right so it is a a roguelite and um obviously it has a lot visually in common with something like sakiro and then at the same time as well when you look at this and now my memory is uh gonna [ __ ] fail me uh there's another like Samurai uh [ __ ] Japanese franchise um that phase two there's a there's there's a sequel to it as well [ __ ] I forget again if you guys can remind me in chat but the point is that that this is uh this is like an amalgamation of all of those things um and it has some really interesting combat I played it on stream I think twice I played it a little bit offline as well kind of like fell off for me because I think I ended up playing something else it's got all of the things Neo that's it thank you so much I appreciate you Robert you were first um this is kind of like the the way more difficult Neo in a way right and um the the point is that again because this is this is trying to be like sakiro trying to be like a from soft game but also trying to have the loot variation and all of the weird sort of like neo-esque things um it doesn't it doesn't in my opinion really win all that much on both of those um I really enjoyed Neo one I actually enjoyed neo2 a lot a new one for me will kind of like always be superior because again it was the first one that experienced like that and um wulong was was like a good like a good game in that genre some great bosses everything like that obviously difficult if you like difficult games uh there is some difficulty here you have to be good at you know pairing and countering and staggering and [ __ ] jumping and [ __ ] whatnot but um in the end just didn't do anything for me to innovate it then we get to Final Fantasy 16 and Final Fantasy 16 is the odd one because I I know of this game and I know what a [ __ ] Powerhouse it is and I know how how popular this game is for people but it is a game that I haven't played yet so I I have to judge it based on the feedback that people have given me but also in my mind the picture that I formed about this and to me I absolutely feel like Final Fantasy 16 will be considered in Game of the Year uh lists uh will it make it in my game of the year list possibly but I I'd have to play it first right and hopefully I get to do that before the end of this year otherwise this might be a game that I end up playing [ __ ] next year but that being said um the feedback that I've gotten about this people that have played this people whose opinions I trust dearly and who you know uh would tell me if it's a [ __ ] dog game uh have told me that this was really really fun and I I have to admit that my my like in Final Fantasy games is a little bit Antiquated like for example I didn't like 15. and um and that might be the thing that holds the game back for me but that doesn't make it not a great game you know what I mean that just means like you know I I the the the genre or whatever hasn't aged well with me you know something like that but um that is then the the list here now one last thing that I have to do is I have to give my opinion as to which game do I think is going to be game of the year so I will do I will do two things yeah first of all I'm gonna show you which game I think is gonna win game of the year okay and I think you guys can guess which one that is um an Italian YouTuber has said to me there's so much [ __ ] happening on screen that you don't even see when the enemy is attacking you well that's exactly my fear right there okay so the game that I think ends up winning game of the year is baller skate 3. I think um it's just it's it's done too good for it not to for it not to clean up I'd be very surprised if another game comes in and steals uh out from under it um and the reason why the reason why I pick it above something like Spider-Man or above [ __ ] Zelda or about Final Fantasy is because it first of all what it launched on so like Final Fantasy is only on Playstation Zelda's only on Nintendo um so balder's gate is available obviously more broadly so more people can play it it's on Console as well as on PC but also just because uh I think that the age of you guys have to remember the game of the the game of the year is right they voted for yes there's an audience portion of it but it's also voted for by um review houses and Studios sorry not Studios review houses and and people that review games for a living right and those people the median age of those people are all people that fondly remember games like balder's gate balder's gate 2 um and and and just might also just be Dungeons and Dragons fans and everything like that because what you have to remember about balder's gate is that it touches on a lot of different aspects right it's it's not just that it's about this kid game but it's Dungeons and Dragons there's cosplay in there there's people that you know LARP this [ __ ] and they just like it just for the idea of it that it's a Dungeons and Dragons game they don't necessarily have to even want to [ __ ] play it um but it's also the fact that it's a really quality product they uh whenever somebody says to me like Early Access is [ __ ] and it's just a way to [ __ ] milk money out of [ __ ] people and to give them an inferior product and to run away with the [ __ ] bag and all that [ __ ] anytime somebody says that to me I point them towards [ __ ] balance K3 which was an early access for like forever and it only did the game Justice it only did good and that's why I think that it'll end up winning game of the year now which game do I want to win game of the year I would like Gremlin to to win game of the year will I get my wish will things turn out the way that I want to who knows what a [ __ ] crazy [ __ ] weird ass upset would be if um Remnant 2 which out of these six games that are in this two rows at the top here Remnant 2 is by far the game that that has the least possible chance of winning but in a weird way has almost one of the most deserving spots and I'm saying all of these games deserve to win all of these games deserve to win but Remnant 2 is really really really special and uh I think for that reason it absolutely should work
