TESTING REVOLUTION X THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS COLLECTION!!

hi guys welcome back so today if you couldn't already tell from my little extra jack skellington in the background my jumper my nails the title of this video i'm gonna be reviewing the makeup revolution and nightmare before christmas collection which has actually now been out for a couple of weeks i'm sorry that i didn't post this sooner it was a really hard collection to get your hands on it sold out really quickly i think because it went live on the website before the time that they said it was gonna go live and so the eagle-eyed people that were on the website like half an hour before managed to snap up most of the collection me being i guess kind of silly because i know that they've done this before with the previous collections they've uploaded it early i should have been on my website early but i logged in at like five to seven and a lot of stuff had was like pretty much almost sold out so i added pretty much everything from the collection into my basket all the bits that i wanted all of the lip glosses both the highlighters and makeup bag and the jack skellington eyeshadow palette and then when i went to check out um one of the highlighters had gone out of stock and so i refreshed my basket deleted it and then at that point the other highlighter gone out of stock then one of the lip glosses went out of stock to cut long story short i managed to order the jack eyeshadow palette three lip glosses and the makeup bag but i really wanted to get my hands on one or two of the highlighters so the bits that i'd ordered actually arrive the next day because i pay for next day delivery so i ordered those bits but then revolution very kindly offered to gift me the two highlighters that i wasn't able to get so in this time i've just been waiting for those to arrive because i thought there was no point me filming a video just on the eyeshadow palette without the highlighters if i was going to get the highlighters you know so i now have got in my hands the jack palette which i'm most excited for wasn't really that interested in the sally palette they weren't really my kind of shades one of the makeup bags which i'm very excited for this was only eight pounds as well i think which i think is pretty affordable i've got the two highlighters which the packaging just looks amazing and then i've got three lip glosses i've got the oogie boogie lip gloss i've got the zero gloss and i've got the sally gloss it was the jack gloss that had gone out of stock but i'm pretty sure it was just a clear gloss or maybe zero is a clear gloss jack was like a light sort of champagne color i think and i have to say i had so many people tagging me in this because if you've been around on my channel for a while you'll know that the nightmare before christmas is one of my favorite films i'm a bit obsessed with it and i used to have an obsession with skulls when i was like 12 which is a bit weird um so i think that's where my love for the film came from with jack skellington and all that kind of stuff not too sure where my obsession with skulls came from being a person that has death anxiety but hey i was a strange child and i'm still strange let's just get into it you don't care i'm sorry but can we just talk about these i just i'm i'm really happy and they took me about two hours so i'm gonna show you so i'm actually gonna start with the glosses and it has just occurred to me that i put a lipstick on already this is the huda beauty lipstick in the shade wedding day you know what kind of wish that i did get the jack gloss to complete the collection and i'm never going to be selling these products just because i you know they're not going to come around again revolution are restocking in november i believe yes i'll try and get my hands on the jack glass then so this is the packaging of the glosses so the glosses were five pounds which i'm actually glad that they still kept this affordable even though it was a collaboration with disney like they probably could have height the prices up to ten pounds each and people still would have bought them so i'm glad that they kept it cheap the highlighters were eight pounds and the eyeshadow palette was 15 pounds so i'm pretty happy with the prices oh i've just realized that zero goes around the side of the box so the actual packaging of the glosses themselves they've just got the little character on the lid and then it just says tim burton's the nightmare before christmas on the front nothing spectacular in terms of the packaging they have still kept it pretty simple so zero is just a clear gloss which i'm probably not gonna put on my lips because it's a clear gloss you know what it's gonna look like oh oogie boogie okay i much prefer the packaging of this one um so oogie boogie shade is a bronzy uh bronze sally's is a pink gloss and it's got little gold glitters in it so we'll see if we can feel those glitters on my lips i'm just gonna wipe off my lipstick that i've got at the moment as nice as it is we don't need it right now my lips are actually a little bit dry today so let's see how hydrating these feel i am actually gonna use the zero gloss first you know what let's give it a go let's see what it feels like if it's moisturizing oh it's a nice smell it smells quite um sweet but it's quite a soft sweet smell you know what this um clear gloss feels like more of a lip oil is it a lip oil it says lip gloss on the back not sticky at all definitely feels like more of a lip oil type formula which i actually quite like because i would wear this on a daily basis just with a bit of lip liner so i'm quite happy about that it doesn't feel sticky in the slightest like look at my lips off to a good start geez why are my lips so dry today so next up we have the sally gloss which is the one that is the least kind of like my colors that i would normally go for smells the same as the other one [Music] you know what this one feels a little bit more sticky than the other one this one doesn't feel like a lip oil it feels like a regular gloss but again it's still not it's not like a super sticky gloopy gloss it's still quite a thin formula but this doesn't really come out that bright if i just give you a little swatch on my hand it's quite sheer it's actually very sheer so yeah if you see that there it's just got the tiniest hint of pink which i'm quite glad about and i don't think you can feel the glitters i think i can just feel my dry skin and once it's actually on your lips you can't really see the little glitters in it it kind of just looks like a little bit of shimmer i think oogie boogie is going to be the one that is the most pigmented but we'll see so i'm then going in with oogie boogie yep okay i have a feeling that one is definitely the most pigmented you know what i'm gonna do with this one let me just quickly line my lips because i'm gonna keep it on so i'm just using a little bit of the bare minerals gen nude lipstick lip what lip liner in the shade freestyle which is a light brown just around the edges of my lip oh boy this one doesn't smell the same it doesn't really smell as sweet as the others smells a little bit more chemically okay so out of all of them this one is definitely the most pigmented and it is a metallic gloss which i don't really like however i do think this is the type of gloss where if you really want to layer it on you will get a full metallic lip if you put on just a little bit then you can probably just blend it out to look more like a shimmery gloss i think out of the three of them this one is the most sticky but it still doesn't feel uncomfortable it doesn't feel like i want to take it off my lips i feel like i could wear this for a good amount of time so diving back into my makeup bag i'm now going to test the highlighters which i only got yesterday and i haven't even looked at them yet so i'm quite excited i love the makeup bag by the way i think it's so cool with i love the smell of plastic so we have got the misfit love highlighter which has got jack and sally on the front i think the packaging of these is so pretty and then the second one is moonlight mischief and madness so these are the two of them together i've got to say this is the one that i was most excited for because i love this scene from the film and i think this is the lighter one there are two different shades the first thing i will say about these is they're very chunky like this is a chunky highlighter i do wish that they made them thinner and i don't see why they couldn't have made them thinner but whatever the packaging on the front of the box is the same as the box and then when you open it up it looks like this because this is the lighter one i thought it was going to be a bit lighter than this but that actually looks quite dark but we'll see so the highlighter itself has got jack embossed in it but it is a very pale pink i'm just gonna do a swatch from around the edge actually you know what i think this would work for me when i'm uh when i don't have fake tan that's what it looks like on my hand it looks really pretty actually all right and then the second highlighter let's open this one up this is the darker shade and that is definitely going to be too dark for me so i'm not going to be putting this one on my face and it might come out a little bit lighter so i'm just going to take a swatch just from the edge not on jack's face wow okay that's beautiful as well looking in the pan they really don't like anything special i know that probably sounds a bit harsh but looking at this i was like it doesn't look that metallic but actually swatched on my hand they look really pretty sorry i have a bit of lip gloss residue on my hand as well but look can you see how those are catching the light this one does look gorgeous though and i think it's a really beautiful bronze color so if you do have medium or deep skin i do think this will look beautiful in a lot of people but for me a little bit too dark so i am going to use this one which is the moonlight mischief and madness shade and i'm going to try and just take it from the edges because i don't want to get rid of jack's face because it's not that embossed in there you know well it's definitely very um pale i do think that this definitely will work for me when i don't have my fake tan on this is a little bit more pink and icy than the type of shades that i tend to go for these days it's definitely a more soft highlighter actually it's not a super metallic glittery one there's no glitter in this or anything you know it kind of reminds me of the type of highlighter um like the one from the charlotte tilbury duo again i feel like i said that about a highlighter in my previous video but it's just a soft glow it's definitely really glowy but i don't know how to describe it then i'm also going to take this on to her brow bone one thing i will say that is good is that you don't you really don't need to dip your brush in here a lot to pick up product sometimes i find that with a few different formulas of revolutions highlighters they're a little bit more hard pressed and you really have to kind of dig your brush in there to pick up product and then sometimes they can come across a little bit textured on the skin this one doesn't seem to do that i do think it's pretty um it's just not my kind of color preference in terms of highlighters but i do think it's really nice i think it looks really nice on my skin let me just give you a close-up so i've just turned down the brightness so you can see properly do you see how it is a very sort of soft highlighter i think i did put a bit too much on this cheek and brought it down a little bit too far wow this spot do you mind like being right here just in case this is of any help to anyone feel free to sk skip this step if you just want to see the eye shadow but um i'm just going to show you the both the highlighters in comparison to my highlighter palette because i know quite a few of you that watch my videos have my highlighter palette even if you don't hopefully it will give you some sort of comparison to the shades to see if it will suit your skin tone so this is the lighter shade of the highlighter which i'm just gonna swatch it's really beautiful swatch here on my hand it looks quite similar to the this shade of my highlighter palette but i will just swatch it next to this shade this shade and this shade so this is the white from my palette which next to it obviously the white is a lot brighter the pink and then the gold which is my favorite shade usually to use so hopefully this helps you can see that this one which is the nightmare before christmas one is a little bit more of that pinkish tone this is the white for my palette this is the champagne pink for my palette which i do think is a tiny bit lighter and then this is the gold that i usually use and then this is my palette compared to the more bronzy tone shade so let me just swatch some of these right so this first swatch is the revolution well mine is revolution as well but the nightmare before christmas one then i'm gonna compare it to this shade this shade in this shade so let's take this one first yep that one's definitely a lot lighter then i'm gonna do this one and then this one it's very similar in tone to this shade from my highlighter palette so this one is nightmare before christmas then this one is the top right shade of my highlighter palette this one is the bottom right shade and this one is the darker shade in my highlighter palette you can kind of see when i hold my hand like this so finally moving on to the eyeshadow which i'm sure is probably the thing that you guys are most excited for this is the palette that i went for i went for the jack one and it's making me so happy how my nails match it even though my nails are yellow and not green so it does come in a cardboard box as well and the cool thing about this is it's double-sided you get a neutral side and a bright side which makes me extremely happy this has been sitting here for two weeks and i've just been staring at it like i want to put it on my face the only downside to this being a double-sided eyeshadow palette is that there's no mirror in it so you have to kind of lay this down on a table why is there not a matte black in here that's my first question good thing is guys it's got a dark matte brown it's got two dark matte browns it's got multiple transition shades there's this one there's this one which is a little bit lighter and there's a super pale um shade which i guess is like a matte brow bone highlight or using for blending out there's a mix of mattes and shimmers i like the look of the neutral side but i also like the look of the bright side i don't know just me personally i think i would have liked to see more mattes instead of shimmers in the bright sides just because a lot of matte brights are easier to create a look with than matte shimmers but oh my god the names of these we've got pumpkin song we've got mare ghoulish halloweentown what's this sandy claws pumpkin king everybody scream master of fright sally oogie's lair jack's house zero oogie boogie there's some great names in here i think they could have gone even harder with this palette you know i think they could have made the shades even brighter like a bright bright bright orange a bright bright purple a bright green i think would have been so sick like i was hoping there would be a color like this inside the palette but the greens were a little bit more muted i don't even know what look i'm gonna create what shall i do so i think i'm gonna do purple in my crease and then maybe like an orange so i'm just taking some of my abh eyeshadow primer put all over my eyelids i like to put it on with a brush and then kind of pat it in with my finger i'm going to start with the shade spooky which is this purple shade here and i'm going to put that in my crease oh i don't want to mess up jack's little faces but i guess it's got to be done so i'm just going to put that shade in my crease and my outer corner and yes my brush is stained blue but it's not coming off blue if that makes any sense it's just stained it's not actually blue okay okay same on the other side it's nicely pigmented this purple shade i just wish that it was a bit more fluorescent like bright purple well it is still bright it's purple but do you know what i mean that's gone on nicely so far and then gonna take the shade love never dies which is this one down here which is a slightly more pinky berry sort of color oh okay that's more pigmented than i was expecting i'm actually just going to go back in with both of those shades to try and make them a little bit more intense because i feel like you can still see my skin underneath i always seem to keep doing this recently i keep on blending the first shade too high up towards my brow bone and then when i take a shade that like to blend it out i end up blending everything too high oh well i'm just going to take a bit of that love never die shade onto my lower lash line i'm actually just going to dip into a little bit of bones which is this light matte color just to try and tone down this on my brow bone i am actually just going to dip into a bit of this red shade which is called sandy claws um i want to use a bit of red because it's halloween so i'm going to add that on top of the purple to kind of make a more purpley red does that make sense i'm also just taking that purple onto my lower lash line i've kind of messed this one up again haven't i i'm sorry guys all of my videos recently have kind of just been a bit of a fail but i'm gonna keep going i'm gonna keep going with it i mean they're definitely pigmented i've got a purple eye look for sure it's just annoying me here how this bit isn't quite like blending how i want it to but this is always my dodgy eye anyway i mean this i've still blended a bit too high up it's halloween it's supposed to be spooky i'm now just gonna do a cut crease and for that i'm gonna use my abh primer again so i'm then taking the shade pumpkin king which is the matte orange color oh you know what actually on my inner part of my eye i think i'm going to take this one which is oogie boogie which is a pale matte green just because i want to see how much it actually shows up and the answer is not a whole lot i put two layers on there and then you can kind of see it but just one layer is not that visible i just think that they could have made these colors like i don't know i think they should have done a much more vibrant bright green rather than this sort of very pastel green now i'm going in with orange orange is more pigmented for sure however when it's on my brush compared to how it shows up on my eyes the look is more pigmented on the brush this looks like i've got going on is very strange so i'm actually just taking a toy duck which is this yellowy shimmer which is actually on the neutral side but it's quite a well yeah it's like a yellow shimmer i've just put it on this inner corner here and i'm just going to put that over the top just to give a little bit more brightness to the inner corners oh the color zero looks cool let's try that let me just go back in with a bit more of that purple just to blend the edges in has anyone else had more success with this palette because i feel like i'm struggling a bit i definitely think i'm gonna have to try this again and try out some other color combinations maybe try the neutral side maybe try some more of the blues i'm not too sure whether i've messed up i mean the overall look still looks quite cool but i just struggled a little bit with some of those shades just adding a little bit of orange blend out the purple for my brow bone i'm gonna go with the shade called what's this so that was a bit of a struggle i feel like some of the shades are more pigmented than others some of the shimmers are more pigmented than others it's a little bit of a mixed bag i'm just gonna go do my line at my lashes and then i'll be back i've only gone and stuck the wrong bloody lashes on i thought when i saw these on my table that they were the unicorn cosmetics look of the day lashes i think these are the tatty lashes and jamie genevieve jamie one lashes but they are very very long and they kind of like touch my eyebrows so this is the look for the liner and lashes i actually much prefer the look now that i've got my lashes on and my liner i think it just kind of pulls it together nicely and i do actually think stepping out of my bright lights and going and looking at my bathroom lighting to put my lashes on i do actually think this look looks pretty cool i didn't want to be biased because i love the nightmare before christmas and obviously i love revolution but i just think they could have gone harder with this palette i think they could have made it even better um but that's just my opinion but that being said i have only used a few of the colors and i definitely definitely do want to play around with it more because there's so many colors in here but even so i do not regret spending 15 pounds on this at all but i don't think i was ever gonna regret this purchase because it is the nightmare before christmas but um yeah and this is the look overall close up let me know what you think down below in the comments guys i'm just editing this back and i've just realized that i didn't really explain what i meant when i said that i was struggling with some of the shades i mean you can kind of see on camera um the shimmers that i used on my lids just weren't very shimmery and i feel like maybe it i don't think i think i don't think it is because i layered too many eyeshadows because even like swatching them on my hands and stuff the shimmers that i picked like that yellowy green shimmer and the orange shimmer like they just weren't very shimmery i know that revolution have better shimmery eyeshadows that more kind of foiled but these ones were just a bit like meh the shimmers that i used anyway so yeah that's what i was trying to say so i'm now just gonna answer a question of the day if you guys have got any more questions for me please leave them down below with the question wait what with the hashtag question of the day oh i'm tired today's question comes from santa p and they have said favorite foundations slash cc or bb creams for everyday wear like for a high school student both affordable and high-end i love you and i hope you feel happier soon since you make us so much happier thank you i actually have quite a few recommendations for this because i've recently been really loving um not so much on camera because obviously when i'm on camera i'm usually wearing a full face but in my regular everyday life i tend to go for much lighter coverage and much less makeup i have a few recommendations if you want something that literally feels like you're wearing nothing on your skin pretty much um i really love this pro you know i would say that these two are probably my two favorites i was going to say the l'oreal one is my favorite but i do love the laura mercier one laura mercier tinted moisturizer is so nice it gives a little bit of coverage and feels moisturizing it doesn't look too heavy on your skin the l'oreal skin paradise tinted water cream this feels like water when you put it on your skin it doesn't feel heavy at all and it gives your skin a really nice glow by the way all of these products are quite dewy and glowy um but this l'oreal one is beautiful it's such an interesting texture like it feels really really liquidy and lightweight they also have um a concealer which pretty much feels exactly the same as this as well which is also lovely if you don't want it to feel like you're wearing anything on your face if you just want a little bit of coverage um this l'oreal true match eye cream concealer i think that's what it's called this concealer is also beautiful in combination with this this is kind of like my daily sort of go-to thing i've also recently um discovered the nude sticks one the nude nudestix tinted cover which is also lovely again gives a light coverage but doesn't feel heavy um it's really nice but then if you want a cc cream that has a little bit more coverage um these are the ones that i'd recommend the it cosmetics cc cream which is definitely quite a bit thicker and it gives more coverage but again is really nice the number seven protect and perfect advanced all-in-one foundation is kind of like a dupe of the it cosmetics cc cream i think um also the revolution pro cc perfecting foundation again this one is a little bit thicker has a little bit more coverage but it's still really nice and has spf 30 and then also as well i really like the morphe 2 hint hint skin tint which you have to shake quite a lot but this also has pretty nice coverage um but it doesn't feel too heavy on your skin it's also a really nice one so that's what i would recommend quite a few i've been loving my cc creams recently so good question right i'm gonna go i hope you guys enjoyed this video i'm sorry that again it was a bit of a mess at least it wasn't as messy as my previous video honestly i just wanted to
