*FINALLY* TESTING RARE BEAUTY.. My honest thoughts

like look if i don't like these i actually might cry [Music] um i love it oh i don't know if i'm gonna like that [Music] guys the day has finally arrived that rare beauty has launched in the uk i have been waiting for this moment for what feels like years how long has it even been like a year two years but for the longest time they didn't offer international shipping well actually they did but for some reason i don't know what the reason was they didn't offer shipping to the uk so you can even order off the us website and have it delivered but i have seen so many good things about rare beauty since it launched and i've been so frustrated that i couldn't just order it all so it has finally launched in space nk i ordered this stuff yesterday i obviously got next day delivery i pretty much got one of everything minus the eye primer the eyeshadow palette because i have actually tried that before i'm not sure if you guys remember but a while back i actually got one of the rare beauty eyeshadow palettes because robert welsh ended up with a speck and so he very very very kindly offered to send me his spare one so i have tried that palette before if you type in self does life rare beauty it will come up with that review and oh my god i've just seen robert's video where he's literally doing a video with selena gomez on zoom which is just incredible you know what let's just get into it and i will chat and do my makeup at the same time otherwise i'm just going to do the intro for ages so they launched on the space nk website i think they're launching in the space nk stores like later in february i think it was the 22nd because i spent over a certain amount i got a free mini size of the always an optimist illuminating primer i did buy the full size of the mattifying primer because i think that one looks like something that i prefer more this one's a little bit shimmery i will leave everything linked down below in case you guys want to have a little look yourself i'm not gonna lie everything when it arrived is actually smaller than i expected so the pri for some reason the pictures on the website made everything look so much bigger this is the always an optimus base oh oh i was reading the french side always an optimist poor diffusing primer which apparently has a natural matte finish so let's give this a try yeah do you see what i mean like to me like this looks like a did i buy the mini one there must be a bigger size than this okay yeah ignore me i added the smaller travel size to my bag that makes a lot of sense the 15 mil size is 13 pounds the 28 mil size is 23 pounds so it does come in a bigger one ignore everything that i just said although like the blushes and stuff is still smaller than i expected i love the packaging just for the whole brand i think it is probably one of the nicest like aesthetically pleasing and i think comforting is not the right word to use it just looks like soft i just like the look of the packaging oh okay it's a gel like texture so i want to first start off by saying i am a huge fan of selena gomez she was actually a huge part of my childhood i used to love wizards of waverly place and also as well i used to love her music what was that album that she launched um selena gomez in the scene i quite know what that album was cool but it was the album that had like love you like a love song on it oh it was when the sun goes down i remember one year i went on holiday to france with my whole family and selena was launching this album and i was like i need to buy it it's come out today we went to a supermarket i bought the album and then made my whole family listen to it in the car while we were just driving around france that primer feels quite nice it's a little bit sort of slippery feeling it feels like a combination between one of the super sort of like silicone type primers that are like really slippery and almost feel a bit moussey do you know what i mean it feels like a mix between that and a gel primer it does feel very nice i think it's definitely given that sort of like soft matte effect that it said that it would but i'm a little bit worried because it feels like a little bit sort of like slidy but i guess we'll see i tend to go for primers that are a little bit sort of sticky and tacky feeling those are my favorite types of primers but i mean it feels fine by the way i got 15 of my order with the code first 15. so if that's still available there you go it was just like written at the top of the space nk website i also absolutely love that one of the ideas behind the brand was to raise money for mental health awareness i just think that is so great honestly like i think selena seems like such a down-to-earth celebrity obviously she's so famous and has been since she was a kid obviously i don't know her personally i think she seems really down to earth and like a really genuine person next up i got the liquid touch weightless foundation and the liquid touch brightening concealer foundation was 26 pounds the concealer was 18 pounds they have a really good shade range but i was really struggling online to try and match my shades so hopefully these ones will match me it was kind of a bit of a stab in the dark of just googling swatches and googling different shades and seeing if people look like they had a similar skin tone to me i did also use foundation and on foundation it told me to go for the color 210c but i looked at that shade and i was like i just don't think that's gonna work for me so i went for 190w in the foundation of 170w in the concealer like look this is one of the nicest packagings for foundation i think i've ever seen it's just so like tactile i love the feeling of it so this has a doe fit right yeah you know what this looks like it might be a pretty good shade we'll see also if my neck looks a little bit crusty and dry it's because i've been using tretinoin on it and while it's getting used to it it's been a bit sort of like flaky oh this feels really weird it feels almost like oily it feels like the feeling of when you put an oil on your face that sort of like light weight sort of feeling well i can see in the tube it's a very liquidy sort of foundation let's try one side with a brush and the other side oh my god it actually feels like nothing hmm you can see when i've blended it out i feel like it's got a little bit darker let's just i've just turned down the brightness a little bit so hopefully you can see a bit better but oh my god what on that earth yeah look do you see what i mean like as i'm blending it out i feel like it gets a little bit darker which is actually quite good because i now think that this is probably the perfect shade for me but it feels like nothing on my skin like i actually can barely feel it let's try the other side with a sponge okay you know as suspected because it's a more like liquidy foundation and it's got a bit more of a lighter weight feel i feel like the sponge just absorbs it a bit too much whereas the brush seems to help it sort of like spread more you know what i actually wish that i picked up some of the brushes i think it definitely sort of like dries down a little bit darker so i'm very glad that i went for this shade it feels very lightweight and it does feel very nice however i will say i'm just gonna go over it with my sponge slightly i feel like on my forehead i've got like a little bit of dryness up here i feel like it's just like emphasizing that a little bit let me show you close up this is with like i've got my natural light of the window directly ahead of me um let me just move turn my lights around so you can see more okay this is what it looks like in the natural light i don't really know how well you can tell it does look pretty nice it looks quite smooth but can you see on my forehead just there i think you can see that it's just emphasizing the dryness a little bit just round here but unless you get super close to me that's not noticeable at all and to be honest when my skin is a little bit drier a lot of my foundations will do that unless i've used like a more moisturizing primer underneath i think it could potentially be because the primer like i said it wasn't really like a moisturizing feeling primer so that could be one of the reasons but overall like it feels so lightweight but i'm not sure if anyone's tried this and has dry skin i'd be interested to know how they found it because my skin type is oily with dry patches and then gonna try the liquid touch concealer whoa that looks a lot lighter why did i go for this shade i think just because i thought like i'll get a slightly lighter shade to brighten under my eyes but this looks like my shade for when i don't have any tan on but again the packaging is just so nice oh i love the little doe fit that looks really cool okay let's put some of this on oh my gosh yeah that is so okay i definitely picked the wrong shade we'll see if it sort of dries down any darker luckily my skin's not too bad today oh i don't have a nice big spot coming through my chin though i'm sure that'll come out tomorrow [Music] oh wow oh wow oh wow that blended so easily like watch this again the concealer feels very lightweight it doesn't feel like it's really thick but again not overly moisturizing like i'd say that both of these products are sort of like a soft matte finish they're not going to give you tons of glow but it definitely has a nice level of coverage i mean my skin is looking really nice i think pretty nice full contour i have seen that they did just release contour sticks however we don't have those in the uk we don't have the new releases yet so i think she just released contour sticks a powder and then i think some new shades of the liquid blush we don't have those new launches yet they weren't on space nk but i'm assuming they'll be coming soon so i'm quickly just gonna add a bit of cream contour and then i will be right back and then we'll test the blushes okay cream contour is done i used the be perfect cream contour stick in caramel i did actually just film a little tick tock of this comparing two different methods of applying it if you guys want to go check that out go follow my tick tock moving on to the cream blushes if i don't like these i actually might cry i had to get one of the stay vulnerable i'll stay vulnerable what a tune by the way so this is called the melting blush i got the shade nearly neutral and it says it's a weightless wash of soft focus color that melts upon contact for a second skin finish if that doesn't sound like a bit of me i don't know what does but look do you see what i mean i thought this was going to be bigger i've literally seen people use it i've seen pictures of it but for some reason i just expected it to be bigger i just want to eat it like it looks so nice the packaging is just so cute we've got that i then got one of the full size soft pinch matte liquid blushes somebody said there was like a glowy blush and a matte blush i don't know whether they meant this and this or whether there's like a different formula of the soft pinch blushes but i went for the shade love which looks very pretty again love the packaging it looks so luxurious i think so this one is 19 pounds and then the melting blush is 18 pounds so it's obviously like a more higher end scale beauty brand but also i quite like how the prices aren't like you know she could have easily charged probably like 30 quid for a blush and people still would have bought it so and then i also get this which is the selena's faves four piece mini set which comes with one of the ah oh it comes with one of the dewy liquid blushes oh my god this one is one of the dewy ones i didn't even realize this one is called joy i nearly bought the full size full size of this but then i saw it was in the mini so i thought okay i might as well get the small one first and if i love it which i look this looks like i'm gonna love it um then i'll buy the full size it comes with a liquid luminizer oh my god these little minis are so cute liquid lumilizer luminizer in mesmerize it comes with a matte lip cream and it comes with the smaller size of the volumizing mascara the liquid lipstick that you get with it is called inspire it's like a really gorgeous red and this little mini set was 29 pounds which isn't too bad let's first try the melting blush i'm not sure what this shade is going to look like but i'll give it a go hang on i just want to stick my finger in it oh okay wait hang on hang on it looks like this but then when you swatch it it's very like sheer i don't know how to describe that texture but where did it go it feels like melting chocolate it's like a chocolate truffle texture but then i'm really confused because like when you sort of blend it out it literally disappears let's put some of this on my cheek it's very very subtle let's try building it up a little bit more okay phew on my face on my face it's a lot more obvious than it was on my hand when i sort of blended it out and but i feel like i am having to take quite a lot of product on there to get it to like the desired shade but oh that is so beautiful it just looks so smooth but this type of formula isn't particularly pigmented let's try joy the smaller one on this side and then i might put some of this one over the top of it in the mini you get 3.2 ml and in the bigger size you get 7.5 ml this shade looks so pretty let's see how we go with this much i might need a bit more oh my god okay no i'm not gonna need a bit more i need to put a bit more on by the way none of these products have smelt of anything so far which is probably a good thing because my skin is quite sensitive by the way i'm sorry if you can hear james next door he's currently streaming while i'm filming and our schedules today have just had to sort of like clash so um apologies if you can hear him in the background but hopefully it won't be too loud i am in love with that blush okay this one i prefer so much more than this one this one is very subtle this is much more my kind of thing and as you can see you only needed a few dots that shade so beautiful that is one of the nicest cream blushes that i've tried in a while and this shade i kind of wish that i'd bought the full size of this one in the shade joy so this one is called love this one looks quite dark actually um it was a little bit tricky to tell on the pictures on the website um but let's just okay let's try putting a bit let's just put one dot and blend it out oh my god that was just from one dot you know what that's actually very pretty and jesus christ i don't think i would ever get through this because that was one dot's worth it's like a slightly more red toned version of this one this one's got more of that peach in there i like that a lot more than i thought it would the formula of this one is so much more sheer and like the formula of these are so much better honestly even though this still is really smooth i much prefer these ones we're just gonna have miss match blush today okay so i'm just gonna set my under eyes i'm just using a bit of my laura mercier translucent powder basically i'm going to set everywhere apart from my cheeks next up i'm going to take one of the liquid highlighters i don't think she makes a powder highlighter but she has the liquid luminizers so i've got the shade mesmerized we all know that liquid highlighter isn't necessarily my favorite thing i do sometimes actually use it now but i'm very particular about my liquid highlighters if i do use one it has to be good and not disturb my makeup underneath it looks so metallic in the tube okay let's do a couple is that gonna be enough i'm just gonna use my fingers to blend this out oh wow it's a lot more subtle than i thought it was going to be because like look in the thing it looks like pure straight up metallic but on my skin it just looks like a natural sort of shine i mean it's very beautiful it hasn't sort of emphasized any texture on my skin but when i look straight ahead i feel like it's disturbed my blush can you see there's like almost like a line missing just for that reason alone that makes me scared to use them i mean it looks nice now that i've gone back over it with my with my brush i've got to admit like now that i've sort of blended the two together i saw a little hack on rare beauty of taking a little bit of highlighter and a little bit of blush and melting melting mixing them together to create like a glowy blush so should we try that let's mix those together oh that is what i would be more likely to use this for because together very pretty although i think i did just go a bit overboard didn't i but i just want to see like will it take off the powder underneath you know what i don't think it has i would be careful with this with this with this mixed together with the blush it's very pretty but i think it just feels like a little bit sort of oily which i think is why it seems to be removing some of my makeup just gonna set this area so next up i've got the brow harmony pencil and gel and i got the shade cool brown it says it's a dual ended waterproof pencil and tinted brow gel which sounds perfect to me let's do the tinted brow gel first and see what this is like oh so the shade cool brown looks like this it looks quite light the brush looks really nice oh let me zoom you in oh god i have made a bit of a mess of that haven't i it's quite a liquidy formula and i have actually made a bit of a mess of that but i really like the brush the brush is really skinny i have put too much product on there and it looks a bit messy let me try again on the other eyebrow you know what okay it went so much better on this eyebrow what have i done to this one okay i still think the brush i don't know whether it's the formula or whether it's the brush that is causing it to be messy but like i've got it all above my eye maybe my eyebrows are just a bit too long let's try the brow pencil so it's definitely thicker than what i normally go for let's hang on let me just test up my hand first oh my god yeah it's really thick no one wants a thick brow pencil do they it is a nice formula though i don't know how i've managed to mess these up so badly the brow pencil is nice but it's quite soft i really like the color of it though the sort of like pointedness of the tip seems to have gone away quite quickly which makes it difficult to do sort of like little hair strokes it's just a bit too thick for me damn it okay i think i fixed them a little bit but they still look a bit messy i won't lie yeah that one wasn't my favorite so next up i have got the liquid eyeliner and i've also got the stay vulnerable liquid eyeshadow i got the shade nearly neutral everything was sort of you know similar shades to the cheek colors oh interesting packaging i'm not too sure i think of that like flat edge bit but this is the liquid eyeshadow which looks like a liquid lipstick a waterproof liquid to powder eyeshadow that delivers effortless blending and smooth crease resistant color we'll see about that okay let's just it looks like something that i want to put on my lips but we'll put it on my eyes oh my gosh it literally looks like lipstick take a brush and oh i think i've left it too long to blend it out oh no i haven't oh my gosh you know what i don't tend to like cream eyeshadows like matte cream eyeshadows if i am using a cream shadow it's usually like in the center of my lid to highlight something but i've gotta say that actually blended really really easily i am the first to admit i normally absolute crap with liquid shadows but you know what that was actually so easy to be honest it's probably not something that i would like really reach for when doing my eyeshadow but it has blended a lot easier than other like matte liquid shadows that i've tried i mean i have definitely not done the best job of that they still look quite uneven i'm not too sure about the color though do i just look like i have got some kind of eye infection i don't know you guys will have to let me know what you think the next thing is the perfect strokes matte liquid liner this says it's an intense waterproof liner that delivers bold even strokes with a calligraphy style brush i love a calligraphy style eyeliner brush it looks like a fancy pen oh oh crap um oh my god it is so liquidy actually maybe i should get a tissue instead of wiping it all over my hand it's just said it was a liquid waterproof liner look at that brush it looks like a thicker version of the kvd tattoo liner it's quite a thick thick one it is so black wow that is a nice liquid liner it's very satisfying to use because it is so inky it is quite a big brush though so you've got to be careful my wings aren't very even but i really really like that but the formula of this liner is incredible literally like nothing i'm impressed mascara i got the smaller one which came in the little set so again really nice packaging quite dangerous colored packaging from mascara though nice looking brush although i feel like not all of the brush has actually got covered in the product let's just go for it let me really like shake this about to get as much product on the brush as possible there we go that's much better oh that is so much better than shaking it because i just felt like the brush didn't have very much product on it like i hadn't reached all the way to the top of here i like how well the brush is sort of like gripping my lashes with the first coat it's very natural but then if you see like with the second coat i was able to get a lot more volume with the second coat this is after three coats for some reason it's going clumpier on this eye than it is on this eye why is it doing that i do like it though it's nice i like the brush i do wish that i got the bigger one though that was my own fault i think it's made my lashes look really nice i do actually like this mascara i think it's good i like how short the bristles are i love a short bristle mascara that can really sort of like grip the lashes at the root it's definitely given me like quite a lot of volume did take a bit of building but i think i quite like that oh crap you know what i've done i've put my mascara on before the setting spray it's fine it's fine i will do the setting spray at the end so i've got the lip souffle cream matte lip cream in the shade brave i got a stay vulnerable glossy lip balm in nearly apricot and then i got with gratitude dewey lip balm in empathy the lip balmy type of things sound right on my street let's try this one first just like the dewy lip balm by itself it's got that weird packaging again with like the sharp edge but this is what the packaging looks like i think it's magnetic it is this looks like a really nice shade there were a couple other shades that i was interested in but they were out of stock already this does look nice i feel like this look right now it's just very selena with the eyes a lot of the time when i've seen her wearing rare beauty she's got a very sort of similar look um the formula of that feels so nice it's definitely a little bit more pigmented than i thought it would be it sort of feels more like a creamy lipstick than like a tinted balm if that makes sense it does feel very balmy though but with a tinted balm normally like they're the type of thing that you can just sort of like whack on without a mirror was with this you need to be a bit more precise with it because it is more pigmented but that feels so nice it doesn't smell or taste of anything you know what i'm like if that smell of vanilla i probably would have been like um i love it next up i'm gonna try the glossy lip balm oh yeah hang on that other one was called what was that one called dewy lip balm and this is the glossy lip balm wow okay that color looks very pink this one is in nearly apricot please smell of apricot no it doesn't none of these smell of anything brush looks pretty nice the sun is about to start shining in from my window oh wow hang on let me just close my curtain a bit okay hopefully that's a bit better i've pretty much just had to close my curtains but it feels very hydrating and balmy it is oh oh no okay i put too much on because it's gone all like stringy in the middle oh why i love the feeling of it use that one sparingly because as you could kind of just see there it sort of went a little bit sticky and weird in the middle but i was gonna say it feels so lovely and smooth and creamy and hydrating and i feel like it's still doing it that is such a shame because it feels so nice okay i prefer the formula of this one okay let's take that off and then finally i'm gonna test the lip souffle in brave i will test that bright red shade but i think i'm going to do that on my take talk oh my god the packaging of these it just feels so nice and like soft nice looking doe foot sort of triangular this one is giving me sort of glossier vibes with the like barely there sort of tint because it's slightly sheer but it actually feels really nice it feels really really lightweight i think this color goes with the eyes a bit nicer than the pink sort of shade this is quite a unique color actually i don't really have anything that's similar to this it's like a slightly orangey nude it feels like nothing doesn't have transfer yeah it does have a little bit of transfer i feel like i'm starting to get oily already sort of like here like in my t-zone so i'm just gonna set that again just adding a tiny bit of bronzer so this is everything before setting spray i actually really like the feeling of this it feels so lightweight like it doesn't feel super drying it's sort of comparable to like the nyx soft matte lip cream kind of things so finally i'm gonna use the always an optimus four in one mist it says a glow boosting mist that hydrates prime sets and refreshes the skin okay oh no am i gonna like this it's got like oil in it well that's weird i don't know if i'm gonna like that oh fine mist it smells very herbal that has just given me that sort of like glass skin effect but also as well i feel like it's made me look a little bit oily so what i'm just going to do again is set my t-zone because i want to do a wear test and i feel like with this i'm looking oily from the get-go let's just powder my t-zone again my skin looks beautiful though oh my god if you have dry skin i think i'm gonna love that setting spray i have to say by the end of this video i think my skin looks really lovely this is it up close hang on let me get even closer i really like the cheeks i really like it i just want to show you quickly before the sun goes in this is what um the makeup is like in natural lighting wait let me turn the brightness down so this is natural lighting i think it looks pretty nice what i do just want to do quickly with the setting spray is do an eyeshadow test so what i do with this and i think i'm going to start doing this whenever i test a new setting spray is swatch some eyeshadow on my arm spray it with a setting spray dry it with a fan and see if the eye shadow budges that way it's a good way to tell if it's gonna sort of like stop your makeup from smudging or whether it's just like a hydrating sort of mist that's supposed to melt all your makeup into each other but won't necessarily keep it on for longer i'm taking the black from my super spice palette there we go spray it give it a dry i'm just going to leave it for a couple minutes to dry just when i talk about my overall thoughts okay so it was a bit mixed i absolutely loved those liquid blushes they were stunning you know what the eye products were also really nice the liquid liner and mascara especially the skin products were nice but they haven't sort of blown me away and i definitely would use them again like a hundred percent i don't know i was expecting to be a bit more moisturizing maybe how we do the setting spray test and see if this will smudge oh no oh okay that is kind of what i was expecting because like i could see the oil sort of floating around in it oil tends to sort of break down yeah it does have oils in the ingredients like a lot of different oils i'm gonna go ahead and say this setting spray maybe isn't for oily skin i think if you have dry skin or if you just want to like refresh your makeup throughout the day and make yourself look like everything sort of like melted together and then maybe set with powder again i can see that this would work quite nicely for that but i don't think it's gonna keep my makeup on any longer obviously i'm filming this outro before i've included doing a wear test which i will insert let me just play the wear test for you guys which will be me a few hours in the future so i've just eaten my lunch and as expected the lipstick is sort of worn off in the middle of my lips which i mean like i said i was kind of expecting that to happen anyway um but yeah that's just a little update on the lips hello it is about six hours after i've applied the makeup i'm standing in front of my big softbox light you know what i think things look pretty decent definitely looking oily but in like not necessarily a horrifically bad way i don't look like a absolute oil slick and it's not really started to separate um maybe a little bit just around my smile and so i still got the eyeliner on me it's actually held up better than i was expecting i have a little patch of missing blush here where james accidentally like came and gave me a hug and he was wearing a cap and the cap sort of like took a chunk of this off but i tried to sort of like pass it back in with my finger the eyeshadow on this side there's a tiny bit that sort of flaked off just there can you see there's a little missing bit it's sort of crumbled off a little bit and then on this side i feel like it's like settled into my lines a little bit maybe not the biggest fan of the eyeshadow but oh my goodness the mascara and the liner have not budged at all and i don't have any smudging yet which is a massive massive win for me and the lip product pretty much all completely came off after eating in my lunch and my dinner after a few hours it did start to feel really dry actually um so i definitely prefer the sort of like barmy products but overall not bad like i'm looking oily but it's not horrific and all of my blush and everything is still there and looks really nice so pretty decent overall though i think out of the majority of celebrity makeup brands that i've tried this one is probably my favorite i've tried halsey's makeup brand i've tried ariana grande's makeup brand lady gaga's makeup brand yeah i would definitely say out of all of those this one has been my favorite that i've tried right i'm gonna go I’m a huge fan of sophs reviews - we don’t necessarily have the same style but I feel like she shows the close ups, the makeup in natural light and shows it through out the day.

She was overall impressed, the base products weren’t her face fave but she said she’d use them again and was very impressed with the eye makeup and blushes

What do you think? Are you tempted by anything from rare beauty? If you’ve already tried it, what are your thoughts

Id liked the look of the foundation but as it’s a soft matte style it might not be best for my, but I’m tempted by the blush and lip products!

Honestly as someone who has never found a mascara that I've loved, I might try the mini of the Rare mascara at some point. I've seen a lot of people on here say they enjoy it!

I'm excited to see this launch here and am definitely interested in the dewy lip balm and liquid blushes. I'm still working on my cloud paints from glossier, but when my glossier puff runs out, I'm excited that "happy" will be waiting for me to try!

The Rare Beauty Concealer is gorgeous. I go through Concealer quickly yet I still have this same one from 5-6 months ago.

Her putty blushes are also very nice, they are very buildable and easy to blend in. They don’t remove the makeup underneath for me!

The soft pinch blushes are super lovely. I do like the foundation, though if you have drier skin it's a good idea to prep beforehand. The foundation has a serum texture to it but it does set.

I’m in the US and I just love all things Rare. I haven’t been let down yet. My only problem was it took me a few tries to get my shade match down, but that was a Sephora thing, not rare. But once I had my match it was perfect!!

Both blush formulas are fantastic, I love the liquid highlight, the foundation/concealer is great for me dry skin, the liquid eye shadows are PERFECT and the mascara is to die for, the loose powder is also really lovely for all over setting and under eye!

I got the discovery pallet as well and every time I use it I’m so impressed. The only thing I’m only OK on is the magnetic spirit pallet. It seems to crease on me more than other shadows?
