Tesla Valve

a balloon and a Tesla vowel I'm using the blue to show something extraordinary this is a Tesla valve very strange creature mid-1920s and this is what it does I get the balloon and put it in one end and let the air flow through it will over pass through try the other end yes it's noticeably faster let's go back to the first way game this way again it's quite slow when you hear much softer hiss so the something extraordinary happening here the airflow is quite quickly through one way but it won't flow so quick this was the other way and yet there's no one-way valve in it so what's happening well this is what Tesla's invention is all about the air that's flowing through this way divides at the very first Junction here some of the air goes down the side road and comes all the way around and comes back and now hits the main flow that's going down here so it interferes with the flow and this can't get passed so easily because it's got some of its Bravo at bit too they're hitting it the same thing happens the next Junction something that goes down the side that opposes the main flow coming down the main stream if every one there's a little bit of interference and there's Ed's are four multipliers to considerable effect at the end by the end there's really quite a considerable drop of pressure as it goes down kind of the other way there's no opposition although air will go around the side roads when it reaches the main stream it's going the same direction so there's no inhibition so the strange thing acts as a kind of one-way valve it's not the total cutoff but it makes it much harder than earth to flow that way and much easier to flow that way and we have a metal version here with a metal base and a plastic top but we've also have a plastic version which is the same construction inside but it's just a plastic top and bottom both showing this extraordinary property over almost a one-way valve made by Tesla 1920s an astonishing bit of engineering and ingenuity Oh
