Tesla Model Y 2023 Cold Weather Range Test

[Music] hello again today uh we're gonna be like I have a small trip it's around 200 kilometer 184 to be exact so I'm heading to Ottawa I thought why not share with you the range of the Tesla Model Y and cold winter it's snow outside as you can see it was snowing I don't know what I'm a bit so now it stopped but there's always a chance to to snow again so let's see here I'm starting the trip with 80 89 battery okay the estimated time is two hours two minutes okay for 184 kilometer so 89 percent kilometer gives me 469 here but uh during the trip we're gonna see uh how the consumption is gonna be and now I'm gonna reset my trip here trip a let's say I'm gonna reset the trip and here this way we can see the average energy we are consuming so we're gonna start the trip now and get back to you [Music] okay we're back so now we already did the 119 kilometer okay and we have still have 66 kilometers to go so the projected battle range is 28 so I should reach my destination with 28 left in my battery okay I'm taking control uh uh if I check the energy consumption here okay the project projected the range is 146.5 kilometer I am in the green section so kind of I'm doing better than what the car uh predicted for this trip uh the temperature now is one degree outside and uh my climate inside the car is at 20.5 so it's like very normal condition very easy to drive with and uh yeah we'll get back to you again [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay now we've reached our destination with uh 27 battery left okay we did already 186 kilometer as you can see here today 186 kilometer our consumption was 244 watt hour per kilometer so if we check the option a year about what's rated here was the what the car projected for this trip we consumed 30.5 more than estimate uh so the climate was fair enough about the trip but actually we saved a little bit the climate was always between 20 and 20.5 uh all good uh I was driving at uh 110 1 11 sometimes 1 20 but mostly 110 of at the speed limit as you can see here also here the conception is in Orange because I was going like one 120 and all this 110 on the speed limit but the conception perfect so driving we took like two 2.4 percent more than the estimated range so now we have like a couple of events to run here and we'll keep you posted [Music] okay guys hi we're back and now we're heading back uh to to Laval more Montreal but uh Tesla decided that I have 16 left so decided to send me to Castleman Ontario supercharger Castleman I'm gonna arrive with five percent left do you think we're gonna make it hope we make it we can't afford any mistake so [Music] as you can see the car started with the condition the battery for fast charger uh yep here we go to the energy actually we are doing better than what the car predicted so hope we're gonna make it here it's 3.2 percent prediction so I think we're gonna make it I'm not gonna stress it out [Music] all right [Music] okay two minutes left with four percent still have four percent in the battery where is this supercharger [Music] all right foreign [Music] I think I can see the supercharger now it's on our left that's our only an hour left I don't know if you can see it but here it is okay we made it come on red lights come on [Music] thank you [Music] [Applause] [Music] so as you can see we made it with four percent left now it's telling me to charge 30 minutes I'm gonna charge a little bit more because with it 30 minutes I'm gonna arrive at home with ten percent so yep let's plug it in whoo now we're gonna charge for 30 minutes 35 minutes and uh yep computer here is telling me 35 minutes to continue to it okay it's charging at 128 kilowatts [Music] so 740 kilometer kilometer per hour so yes now we are already up to seven percent so we're gonna wait 35 minutes and we'll see I think I'm gonna add a couple more minutes so say it's safer to do the trip what I like about Tesla Supercharger it's that it's always in convenient place so you see we have Metro right in front of us and you have mcdo here if you want to grab something so we're gonna hit the Metro now we need something to drink and maybe check the toilet there and yes meanwhile the child the car will be charged enough for our trip see you [Music] [Music] one small trick about superchargers guys if you for example you reached like a station with too many cars always try to keep like one stall between you and the car charging next to you because if you see here the Chargers are named by number for example this is 3A 3B and 4A 4B so every two stations working together it's better to keep the space between the you and the car next to you this way you can get all the power from the charger for example now we are charging at 135 kilowatt hour so yep and we already took 30 26 kilowatts till now so 25 minutes to go okay now we still have five minutes remaining we are at 72 percent but the charge speed dropped to 72 kilowatt hour so yep and our whole trip now is we did the 271 kilometer with average 232 233 Watts hour per kilometer so I don't know it's good considering that uh all all the road we we had the heating on it heated seat also sometimes we have the steering wheel it was like a very very normal drive like you do with any car uh yep except also with the Tesla was even better than you than the normal cars because almost 80 percent on the road it was on autopilot so the drive itself so you don't have to do anything only keep an eye on the road and your hand on the steering wheel so yes that's the Tesla baby [Music] okay so now you have enough juice for our trip the charger dropped to 56 that's why you should never stay more than 80 on the supercharger okay always stop at 80 percent and continue your trip even if you have to stop another time to charge it's better this way believe me foreign [Music] okay finally we made it home turn this on so we made it home with 34 left in the battery and here is everything we did 445 kilometer with average 220 watts per hour so yep this was our trip and if you can see the consumption here we did it with 1.1 percent more than trip protection so yeah my driving was smooth all the way uh yeah that's it guys so we charge I left the level in with the 88 percent I think it was 88 percent so uh yes and we charge also till 80 from 3 till 80 percent so we can say and 160 battery we did 445 kilometer but we still have 34 percent also we have we did the 445 kilometers into in 98 kilowatt hour oh yes that was our consumption for today and don't forget that was all like real life driving real life everything like that we didn't turn off the heat not even for once everything normal music uh high volume high speed not high speed but almost all the way we were driving like one two one ten one twenty and uh it was me and my cousin in the car so two person in the car yeah that was it for today uh soon I'm gonna do a video about a similar trip but maybe with more passenger uh I'm gonna try
